Cannot transfer new songs to Older iPod

Using an older 10 GB iPod I have gotten this message when trying to update playlist or tracks on the pod.
"Some of the songs in the iTunes music Libary were not copied to the iPod becaucse they cannot be played on this iPod."
The software is up to date, using the latest updater. Also I have trashed the iTunes application version 4.9 and reloaded the version from the panther install disk but this hasn't helped. I know that there is enough room on the iPod for the new tracks and it only is happening with new stuff I have imported from CD's & recently added to the iTunes library. Can any one help

Yes they use the new encoder Apple Lossless Encoder and are m4a files. I have converted the problem tracks to mp3 files and the import to the pod first time. Thanks a lot

  • Cannot transfer new songs

Not downloaded any songs for a year or so but decided to download some songs from itunes last week onto a new laptop. However it will not let me transfer these songs to my ipod. All it says is transfer songs FROM ipod and not to. My old laptop is still in use but songs have not appeared on the library, so if I could get the songs off new onto the old then I could do it then but despite searches have not found an answer yet. Appreciate any help.

  • Need help to transfer itunes songs from older ipod to newer ipod

I have an older ipod (one of the first generations!?) that I have downloaded songs from itunes years ago; however, those songs are not in my itune library. I now have a 3rd generation nano 8GB that I would like to put these songs on. I have tried downloading them to my laptop and then transferring into library. The songs will transfer into itunes library, but I can't get them to transfer onto the ipod. I transfer manually (don't sync songs)because I also have two sons that also have ipod nano and shuffle. When I click and drag the song from my library to the desired folder on my ipod it tells me that my computer isn't authorized. I have authorized the computer repeatedly and I still get the same message! I noticed the songs are protected and wonder...does that have anything to do with not being able to transfer?
The songs were originally purchased on itunes store several years ago. I don't know why the 30 to 40 songs I have on the original ipod are NOT in the library, but I would really like them to be on my new ipod. (I have 200 plus songs that are on both ipods/library.) Can anyone help me? I feel I have tried everything and getting extremely frustrated! Are these songs a lost cause?

  • Cannot transfer new songs from iPhone to iTunes.

After switching to iCloud my iPhone automatically created a new Playlist and all new songs purchased on my iPhone were downloaded into that new Playlist.  Now that entire Playlist is not syncing into my iTunes on my PC.  I tried "Transfer Purchases", "sync", etc.  What to do?

Have you installed the iCloud control panel on your computer (assuming that you have a Windows computer)?
This iCloud functionality may be missing from your pc/iTunes, no?

  • Cannot transfer music to 7th generation Ipod

So I got the latest Itunes version 11 and I've got a Ipod nano 7th generation. On Itunes they recognize my device but I cannot transfer any songs to my ipod and I cannot play the songs I have on the ipod on iTunes. Can someone help me out?
I've read the forums here and I have tried the view show sidebar option and it does show my Ipod but I cannot drag any songs to it on my macbook pro.
I've put music on it before from my pc but now I want to transfer music from my mac to my Ipod

Ok to play the songs on your ipod through itunes I select the idevice in the left hand window and expand it to show my music . Then double click on a song and it plays.
If i want to be able to delete songs and search my iDevice I have to enable Manage Music Manually in the options section of the device summary page

Uninstall/Reinstall iTunes then try to rebuild the library.

That's a bummer, didn't realize the exHD files were corrupt, esp if you have tried from another PC and not just this new computer.
You can get purchases from the itunes store transferred from an iPod using these directions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848?viewlocale=en_US
If you want everything (meaning non-itunes songs, app data, photos, etc) you need to buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that support iTouch. Here is an iLounge article to start your research:

  • Cannot put new songs on ipod nano with itunes 11

I upgraded to iTunes 11.1 and now cannot put new songs on my son's iPod nano (gen6, 1.2PC). Help, please.

An iPod will not (and cannot) have iTunes 11 on it. If you mean you want to sync your iPod from your computer with iTunes 11, just connect the iPod and click its name in the header bar. Or go to the View menu in iTunes and select "Show Sidebar" and you'll have an interface substantially the same as in earlier versions of iTunes.
    Regards.

  • Cannot copy 1 song to my ipod

I'm trying to transfer a song to my ipod and an error screen pops up saying: ""name of song" was not copied to iPod "iPod name" because it cannot be played on this iPod." This song plays fine in itunes, fine on another computer, and I was able to copy the rest of my songs onto my iPod. Why will this 1 song not copy for me?

Just a theory, but sometimes that incompatibility is caused by the sample rate. By any chance is the sample rate on the song 48 kHz?
If so, create a new version at 44.1 kHz by setting sample rate in your import preferences and then doing "Convert Selection to mp3."

  • I am unable to put new songs on my ipod

I am unable to put new songs on my ipod. When I put new songs into my itunes, i see them just fine. I go to sync my ipod and it says "sync is complete" within seconds, so I know nothing has been synced. New playlists are also not showing up. Many of my default playlists show up multiple times(90s music, recently played, etc). I have the 30 gig ipod with video. There are about 20 gigs on it. Thanks.

ok the manually manage music box was checked, I don't know how. That seemed to help. As long as I have you here perhaps you can help me with another problem that happens from time to time. My ipod likes to fall asleep when I'm syncing it. It goes to the apple icon on the ipod, stops syncing, and then starts back up again. The problem seems to go away when I restart the computer and/or itunes. I'll occassionally get an error message that says "the ipod "mullen's ipod can be synced. The required file cannot be found." Then I get the message at the top of the screen that says sync complete. In some cases it actually is synced! Any thoughts?
