Cannot tumble some QTVR files w/ QT 7.1 Pro

I have some QTVR files generated from a 3D app that won't tumble anymore w/ QT 7.1 standalone, however they do if I drag the file onto Internet Explorer. Bummer!
Here is a small 1Mb example file > http://www.damienf.ch/images/legocarQTVR_small.mov. Save it locally and try.
Or is there a hidden feature to make this work?
thks.

I recently noticed that the apple software update fails sometimes witha Visual C++ runtime library error. Could it be this is somehow related to quicktime not running?
I tried to use the quicktime 'update' function and got this error:
Microsoft Visual C++ Rumtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Apple Software Update\SoftwareUpdate.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I saw there was a new version of quicktime and I get this when trying to update. It seems that this typically means there is some sort of conflict between apps. Is there any know issues with quicktime and apple software update conflicting with other software?

  • Ipad Dropbox app cannot open some pdf files

my Ipad Dropbox app cannot open some pdf files. The blue download bar appears and when download is complete, the wheel spins and spins and nothing happens.
Some files are password protected. until recently, the password window would open. Now it does not. The wheel just spins and spins and the file does not open.
AN email attachment (pdf) which I opened in Dropbox on my iPhone opens fine.  Files saved in Dropbox from my desktop won't open. This is true for pdf and MSWord files.
    I'm running iOS 7.1.2 (11D257)

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
Should that fail, you might delete and reinstall the app.

  • I cannot open some pdf files online with Reader XI (like sample forms in Help section).

I cannot open some pdf files online with Reader XI (like sample forms in Help section or IRS.gov or credit card statements).  I have uninstalled Reader XI, cleaned and reinstalled.  I have no problem right-clicking and downloading and then viewing the files.  No problem viewing acrobat files.  I'm runnnig Windows 7,  IE9.     I can acces them through Chrome.

    RESOLVED
I found two suspect programs that were installed within the last 48-hrs that may have caused the problem
    1) - Libre Office - latest update.  This is a fork of Open Office.  (unlikely)
    2) - ManyCam video manipulation software  (likely)
Following info here, I opted to try to open an Adobe PDF file that was on my hard drive.  When I did, it refused and IE10 gave me an ActiveX error (AHA!!).   When I checked the installation of ManyCam, it had installed a version of DirectX that may have over-written the resident versions or disabled them somehow.
I uninstalled ManyCam but left Libre Office's update in place, then I ran a system restore from a point 24-hrs before the installations.
    This resolved the problem 100%.
So, the suggestion here is that there may be one or more program in the wild that is interupting the ActiveX or DirectX systems.  They may be running or installing an older version.  In this case it appears the handlers were broken.
Once the system restore had completed I was able to open Adobe PDF files within my IE10 browser from the Internet as well as open PDF files from my hard drive.
Note that this same issue also clearned up a problem I was having with the Comodo Dragon web browser, which is a fork of the Chrome project.  Once I eliminated the suspect program and ran the system restore all was well.  In the instance of the Comodo browser it was unable to open or reach anything - dead white screen below the menu bar.
So my suggestion would be to take an inventory of recent program installations, remove/uninstall them, run system restore from a date before the suspect programs were added, and see what happens.  In my case that fixed the problem.

In the exported dump directory, we truly cannot find above TOC files.
We did not have any ERROR during the export phase.
According to my experience, this might be caused by the fact that this ABAP BW system has a JAVA add-on
on a different server with a dfferent SID than the ABAP SID -- but the JAVA DB is in the same database as the ABAP but with a different schema. Therefore when we do export source system->central system->ABAP based, those TOC files could not be created. However I do not have the document created in my previous project, I cannot verify my impression.
Are SAPDDIM and SAPDFACT standard SAP objects?
    Please help  input your opinions.
    Thanks!

    Pankaj and Anoop:
    1) I have removed all lines starting with 'D ' in the problem *.TSK files and run again.
However, it's still looking for the non-existing *.TOC file. Here is the log:

I am crystal clear from the very begining ,you are misleading this thread to increase yours post and nothing else.
OP is restoring only archive logs and for that it need all archive logs including the archive for the current redo log file. So for that we need "alter system archive log current;".
Yours this illusion is abrupt and without any proof. As you think that before backing up "alter system archivelog current" will be helpful in restoring all the OP's below archived log.Its a fun...

  • Cannot open some PDF files in Illustrator

    Hi,
One of our users is unable to open some PDF files in her ver of illustrator.
Her version is 15.0.2 using Windows 7 64bit
She can open the PDF in reader but when she tries to opens it in Illustrator she gets error "file not found" this is the same if she right clicks open with illustrator or double clicks, and also if she tries to open from within Illustrator.
The file was created using illustrator for MAC and they can open the file OK, they also tried to save the file as an AI and she still cannot open it.
I have no ideas, any help would be very much appreciated.

    kprust,
Which version are the files created in?
If above CS5, what happens if they are downsaved to CS5, then (saved as PDF and) opened by her?
And what happens if she creates a PDF herself and then tries to open it?

  • Cannot print some pdf files

    Hello,
Having trouble printing some pdf files that I am receiving via email, not from 1 person, from several different persons.
My operating system is Windows 7
    Adobe Reader Version: 11.0.10.32
As per suggestion on forum I have changed on Edit, Documents to View documents in PDF/A mode to Never.
Also, changed Security (advance) from Enable Enhance Security to not.
Also, tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader.  Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for any help.

    What exactly means "having trouble"?

  • Cannot open some ID files

I am on Mac and just installed Snow Leopard. Upon attempting to open some ID doc's I get a window stating, "Missing required parameter "from" for event "open." Clicking OK doesn't open the ID document. I am totally befuddled as many of my ID files cannot be opened. Any advice?
    Thank you very much,
    Jerry

In case this really bothers you, and you don't want to change the file names to avoid the issue: we've added a workaround for this into Soxy. If you enable the option, these documents will open fine on double-click.
    You need Soxy 1.0.7 from:
    http://www.rorohiko.com/soxy
Go to the 'Soxy' - 'Preferences' - 'Other' dialog window, and enable 'Open InDesign via Script'
(Irrelevant background info (it's all invisible to the user): the workaround works by special-casing how Soxy opens documents in InDesign: instead of using AppleScript, Soxy will use ExtendScript to instruct InDesign to open the document - which works fine).

  • Preview cannot read some PDF files

I have some files than can be read and filled in etc.  just fine in Adobe Reader, but cannot be opened in preview. Moreover, on screen, these files cannot be displayed. They give an error message that says Please wait:
If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.
You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by visiting http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.
For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit http://www.adobe.com/go/acrreader.
Now, that same file opens in Adobe reader just fine.

    Thanks for that.
Tried that and I got the following message in of the open pdf files
    ERROR undefined
    OFFENDING COMMAND eexec
     STACK
    /quit
    -dictionary-
    -mark-
On another file it was a grey screen and it could not be swiped to the next page
Does that mean anything to you ?
    Thanks !
    Peter

  • Cannot open some tif files in camera raw

When I try to open my scanned tiffs (Coolscan 9000, Silverfast) with camera raw I get this option only with some of those files. With others it is not even greyed out it just isn't there. So far I have not discovered any regularity about this. I does not have to do with file size, because I have this problem with large and with small files. I don't batch scan. I set all the requested preferences in Bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop and purged the cache several times. Camera Raw must be installed properly because there is a number of tiff files that I can open without a problem. If I try one of those files that won't open from Photoshop instead (via "open as" Raw) I get a "program error". Does anybody have an idea? I have searched the forums but so far I have not found an answer.

    Gabriele and Ann,
After some helpful input from Julie Manley at Adobe (in response to my email) and a little trial-and-error on my part, I AM NOW ABLE, FROM WITHIN BRIDGE, TO OPEN ALL MY TIFF AND JPEG (AND .CRW RAW) IMAGES IN ACR 4.1 and, at my choice, with ACR hosted either by Bridge 2.1 or Photoshop CS3. In case it may assist you or others, the steps I took are set out below.
    1. Start by clearing/unchecking/turning-OFF all options in Bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop preferences which in any way relate to using or preferring Camera Raw for opening or editing JPEG, TIFF or RAW files. There are 2 relevant Tabs in Bridge (General (1 checkbox under Behavior) and Thumbnails (1 checkbox under Performance and File Handling)). Camera Raw has 2 relevant checkboxes (under JPEG and TIFF Handling) at the bottom of its single page of preferences. There is one relevant Tab in Photoshop (File Handling - in which you must clear 2 checkboxes under File Compatibility).
    2. Close Photoshop and Bridge. Restart Photoshop.
    3. Restart Bridge by holding down the CTRL key while double-clicking on its shortcut or the executable file itself. You will be presented with the Reset dialog displaying 3 checkboxes called: Reset preferences to factory settings, Purge entire thumbnail cache, and Reset to default Workspace. Tick all 3 boxes and continue with loading Bridge.
    4. On my system, step 3 did not work first time around. So I closed Bridge and repeated step 3. The second time around it did work, and the option "Open in Camera Raw... CTRL + R" was re-enabled in the File Menu of Bridge and in the the right-click menu of the mouse (previously it had been greyed-out). Examination of the Preferences for Bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop revealed that the only change in all 3 occured in the Bridge/Preferences/Thumbnails Tab, where the checkbox for "Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for JPEG and TIFF Files" was now ticked/turned-ON.
    5. Steps 1 to 4 above resulted in the following functionality on my system:
    (a) Selecting a JPEG, TIFF or RAW thumbnail in Bridge and pressing CTRL+R opens the file in ACR hosted by Bridge.
    (b) Selecting a JPEG, TIFF or RAW thumbnail in Bridge and pressing CTRL+O opens the file in ACR hosted by Photoshop.
    (c) Right clicking on a JPEG, TIFF or RAW thumbnail in Bridge and choosing "Open in Camera Raw" opens the file in ACR hosted by Bridge.
    (d) Using the File Menu and choosing "Open in Camera Raw" obviously has the same result as (c).
    (e) The best bit: Double-clicking a JPEG or TIFF thumbnail in Bridge opens the file directly in Photoshop.
    (f) Double-clicking a RAW thumbnail in Bridge opens the file in ACR hosted by Photoshop.
    (g) Shift + double-clicking a RAW thumbnail in Bridge opens the RAW file directly in Photoshop, by-passing ACR, and (as I understand it) by default converting the RAW file to a TIFF "on-the-fly" - although the file keeps the RAW file extension (.CRW or whatever) until you save it from within Photoshop.
    6. This functionality suits me just fine, at least at the moment, as I do most of my editing of JPEG and TIFF images in Photoshop rather than ACR because Photoshop offers local editing as opposed to ACR's global-only editing. Interestingly, at least for Gabriele and Ann, something like 90% of my current work-in-progress consists of editing 16-bit TIFF scans of 35mm slides done with the Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 using NikonScan software. But every now and then, though I suppose it is really on a regular basis, I like to contrast my Photoshop results with what can be achieved in ACR - particularly with respect to White Balance and the group of Exposure controls, where ACR is really very good.
    7. If your emphasis/workflow is based more on using ACR for JPEG and TIFF editing rather than Photoshop, however, and you would prefer to have JPEG and TIFF images open automatically in ACR (hosted by Bridge) upon double-clicking their thumbnails, then that can be achieved easily by adding 1 more entry to the Bridge Preferences. In the General Tab, tick the checkbox for "Double-Click Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge". This is a little misleading because it actually opens all RAW files in ACR (hosted by Bridge), whether or not they have had any previous Camera Raw settings applied to and saved with them.
    8. No doubt, in true Photoshop tradition where you can get to a result by many different paths, there are other combinations of preferences in Bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop regarding JPEG and TIFF file handling which produce the same or similar functionality to that set out in 5(a) to 5(g) above, but I have not stumbled upon, and am not in the least interested in looking for, them. What I now have finally works. Yipee!

  • Premiere pro cannot see some media files

I did a Time Machine restore to two weeks before.  When I opened a project I was working on in PP, the media files were not recognized.  My camera produced MTS files (Sony fs100).  Till this point, after two years of using it, have had no issues.  I uninstalled PP (CC) and reinstalled it.  It can read my media files, but it still won't read some .mpeg or .avi files that it previously could.  Is there something else that should have been installed?  Is there codecs that might be missing?  Thanks, in advanced, for your response.
    Werner

What error message are you getting?
Rename the folder that contain the mpeg and avi.
    See if that will help.

  • Cannot open some online files

    Dear All
I am having trouble opening online files such as pdf files from my mac
My imac is from 2009 so not that old downloaded latest adobe and have used both Safari and firefox
For example went on the apple website and tried to open a manual for the i phone and when I cliked on the icon screen just went blank
It is funny that using a mac I cannot get info on a mac product any ideas
    thanks

As a temporary solution, when you see a link to a pdf, do a control-click on the link and then choose 'save as file' (or whatever it's called). Then open the downloaded pdf file with quicklook or drag and drop the file onto preview.
You'll figure out the real solution later when time is not an issue.

  • Cannot access some user files in TM back ups

My wife and son are additional users on my Imac. I back up using TM. I recently opened the back up folders to see, and I see the folders with their name on them, but when I click to open them, a message pops up saying I don't have permission to see the contents. The question is, how do I make sure when I go to transfer their stuff to a new machine we will be able to open them? Thanks

    implantguy wrote:
Then what happens when I plug the external HD to a new machine that has no user accounts set up in it yet?
if you mean, can you use those backups to set up a new Mac, the answer is YES. See [Setting up a new Mac from an old one or its backups|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/Setup.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Snow Leopard > Installation and Setup+ forum).
All the permissions from the old Mac will be preserved on the new one; one user on the new Mac still won't be able to see the data belonging to a different user, unless specifically authorized.
