Cannot turn my macbook on

I decided it was time to restart my Macbook pro 13" early 2011. So it was downloading some updates and then after finishing to download the updates it turns on and starts this loading bar beneath the apple logo in the silver screen before you can select which user you want to use. The problem is that this loading bar just fills up to a little bit less than half and then the computer turns off every time. Therefore, I just can't turn on my macbook. Is there some sort of command that you can input while turning the computer on to avoid this screen or fix this problem?

Try booting to recovery when turning your computer on (cmd +r) on startup. OS X: About OS X Recovery
From there run disk utility and check your Hard Drive for issues. Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

What may have happened is an error and a kernel panic, filling up the logfiles.
What I recommend is first to find a way to backup your data without booting the hard drive directly if it isn't already backed up, and then get Alsoft Disk Warrior to repair the hard drive.    You'll probably want an external drive from http://www.macsales.com/
And you'll want to go into Hard drive -> Library -> Logs, System -> Library -> Logs, and Users -> yourname -> Library -> Logs to remove whatever you find there.
If after booting it fills up again, start by removing all startup items in your System Preferences for your user, and rebooting in safe mode with the shift key held down. If the hard drive is over 85% full after removing the logfiles, you may want to look at what were the last applications you installed.
Peer2peer software if installed can be as bad as a virus, because it enables others to access your computer. Insecure wireless networks are just as bad, if they are WEP or no encryption and someone is within 1500 feet of your computer.
If no such software is installed, your RAM probably has failed.    Run the hardware test that came with your computer, by booting with the 'D' key.
If nothing shows up there, it can still be the RAM.   Especially if you've seen any 4 language screens telling you to restart.

    Whats the fix?

Forget all the suggested solutions for correcting the WiFi connectivity problems with the 2008 MacBook Pro. None of them work. Just purchase a Bear Extender (bearextender.com), install its software, turn off your computer's WiFi (and don't turn it back on!), plug the Bear Extender into your USB, and you will have consistent WiFi connection. Bear Extender never drops!

  • 2011 macbook pro cannot turn on

    Hello everyone.
After I replaced my MBP's hard disk with a SSD, it cannot turn on. There is no reaction when I press the power button. The 6th light of the battery indicator (side) is green and is always on. There's no change of the indicator lights if I press the small button next to it. And the indicator light on the adapter does not turn on when I plug it into my mac.
During the replacement operation, I unpluged the battery connector (next to the RAM) and other three connectors near the DVD drive. I also unscrewed some screws on the back side of the power button. Now I have put them, the mac still cannot start up.
    Is there any solutions?
    Thanks!

You might want to have your work checked out. Take it to a repair shop that is familiar with Macs.

I have ipod touch 1st gen and it will no longer detect that i have headphones in the headphone jack and so i cannot turn up my volume. Is there any way it can be fixed?

    Have you tried:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • I cannot open My MacBook pro

i cannot open my macbook pro. It only loads halfway and stays there

If you don't already have a current backup of all data, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If the machine is connected to the network via Ethernet, disconnect the cable.
If it's connected via Wi-Fi, try to start up in Recovery mode. Select
              Turn Wi-Fi Off
from the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar.
Try again to restart as usual. While disconnected from the network, you won't be able to log in to a network account on an Open Directory or Active Directory server, but you may be able to log in to an account local to the machine. Post your results.

  • I updated to Yosemite and cannot turn on extensions in Safari

I updated to Yosemite 10.10 on my MacBook Pro and now cannot turn on extensions in Safari (8.0), Preferences, Extensions. When I move the slide button to the "on" position it immediately moves to the "off" position. I turned off all extensions and restarted Safari and it did not help. Thank you for the help.

    Howdy peze,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there’s an issue with keyboard shortcuts in one specific app, Safari, since upgrading to OS X Yosemite. Take a look at the article linked below which describes a similar issue and walks you through the process of identifying conflicting keyboard shortcuts.

i'm wondering if i can use my macbook pro to override the update that  is incomplete.

What does this have to do with Classic operating systems?  They won't run on a Macbook anyway.

  • TS1367 I cannot start my Macbook Pro!

As the title says, I cannot start my Macbook Pro.
I turned the Macbook on, I heard the startup chime, but stays grey and all I see is the spinning wheel (the one that indicates something is loading).
What can I do for it?  Thanks in advance.

Do a safe boot pressing Shift key. If you can, boot in recovery with Command and R keys and reinstall 10.7

  • Cannot Turn Down Brightness Fully on ML

I recently replaced my 2009 15" MacBook Pro's display myself as it was coming apart. My MBP originally came with a glossy display and the replacement part I used was an anti-glare display. Thankfully the anti-glare display works, however there is a curious problem: I cannot turn the brightness down below 50% on Mountain Lion. In ML's system software it thinks that I can turn the brightness down to a low level, but it remains very bright.
Here's where it gets interesting: I tried installing Snow Leopard and I can fully control the brightness. I tired 10.7 Lion as well and also I can control the brightness fully. But bizarrely, only on Mountain Lion, I have this problem. I've tried resetting the SMC but it has not worked. Since I can't turn the brightness down low on ML, it drains the battery. Also I don't like using programs like Blacklight or Shades as the brightness problem is at a hardware level and the battery dranage is the main issue. Is there any fix for this? Or will I just have to go back to Lion?

I asked that question in regards to your comment about a red zone in volume. I do not have that on my phone.
You state that you have already done a restore, so the only other step in troubleshooting is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the device checked by Apple.
