Cannot turn on Calendars or Reminders on my new iMac.  Calendars keeps locking up.  Any ideas?

Never mind, mine started working today.  Must have been with iCloud because I didn't do anything differently. Good luck with yours.  Might want to just try it again.

  • Cannot burn songs to a "data disk" on new iMac

I have some demo songs that I can burn as Audio CDs, but sans a CD title and track titles that I need for easy sharing.   However, when I attempt to burn the same playlist as a CD data disk in iTunes using Mountain Lion on my New iMac I cannot initiate a burn after clicking burn and inserting a blank CD.
It spins waiting for me to "Please insert a blank CD" .  Both times I used identical blank ativa brand CD-Rs rated 52x 700MB 80 min.  However the same blank ativa disks can be burnt as "data disks" on my older core 2 duo iMac running Snow Leopard.  What gives?
The same new iMac has song and CD titles missing using Toast Titanium 8.

  • Cannot sync iCal on iPhone since getting a new iMac

Since getting a new iMac at work, I can't sync my iCal on the iPhone. The iCal on the computer is fine, but nothing shows on my iPhone.
Everything else syncs and the Apple support person tried for over an hour yesterday and couldn't get it to sync.
    Please help!
    Thanks.

Yes, 10.5.8.  Is there another way to add in an account to sync my calendars then?  I use a Yahoo account.

  • How can I turn off the startup chime on my new iMAC (Intel based)?

    Hi,
Every time I turn on my iMac the startup chime is very loud.  It doesn't matter whether I lower or mute the volume prior to shutting it down, the startup chime volume is unpredictable.  Is there any way possible to control it without having to download a third party program?
    Thanks!

    Thank you for your response.
I seem to get a lot of conflicting information whether you should shut down a computer at night or simply put it to sleep.  However, that is another discusssion
As to the startup chime, ideally I would like to be able to control the volume at least (not mute it).  I will still be able to hear the chime when the iMac starts up, but right now it sounds like a church bell going off in my apartment whenever I turn on the computer!

  • I cannot sign into the APP Store to get new apps it keeps aSKING ME FOR MY PASSWORD AND REJECTS THE PASSWORD

RESET PASSWORD CONSTANTLY. SEEMS LIKE ITS OUT OF SYNC WITH ITUNES, HAVE GONE BACK TO THE FACTORY SETTINGS AND HAVE SYNC AGAIN WITH ITUNES SUCCESSFULLY
WHEN EVER i TRY TO DOWNLOIAD AN APP IT WILL REJECT THE PASSWORD. HAVE  RESET THE PASSWORD SEVERAL TIMES.  STILL CANNOT DOWNLOAD ANY NEW APPS

I'm having the same problem with my iPad Mini. I've decided after many attempts that it's Apple's problem, since I have no problem accessing the store and making purchases through my other devices. It's saving me a lot of money not being able to buy new apps and in-app purchases. And I'm not going to waste any time with Apple Support on it. They want my money, they can figure it out all on their own. Maybe Samsung is better with this sort of hiccup...

  • My Air just died. Cannot turn on...

Clicked on bookmark. Cannot turn on. Just died. Plugged into iMac....nothing.

I would then make an appointment with the Genuis bar and get it replaced since it is under warranty ( if you bought new from an authorized reseller or Apple themselves). If you bought before 14 days you could also see your stores return policy and could simply exchange it for a brand new one

  • I cannot turn off my iPad

No matter how I tried my iPad not turning off

Just in case you're a new ipod user: Keep your finger on the top power button (about 3 to 5 seconds) until the red power off slider appears on top of the screen.  Then, with your finger slide it to your right.
If you've been doing this, then there is probably a hardware issue causing this problem.

  • Cannot save in Motion 4 on new iMac

I cannot save anything in Motion 4 on my new iMac. No save, no save as, nothing. I get a window that merely states that "+the document 'whatever' cannot be saved as 'whatever'.+" Is anyone else having this serious problem? The software is all completely updated.

I know this happened in Motion 3 when the tutorial media was copied from the CD. Even though on a hard drive, it retained write protected status. The answer was to Save As to a different folder.

  • I cannot get my itunes to connect with my new ipad

I cannot get my itunes to connect with my new ipad, it keeps telling me that it cannot be activated because the server cannot be reached and the my itunes tells me my network has been reset

Just have to give it some time. The activation and verification servers are all slammed right now 'cause of all the people trying to update at the same time. Give it a couple hours (or overnight if you can wait) and it should sort itself out.

  • Lion 10.7.2 On both mac book pro and iMac, both with Lion 10.7.2, obtain repeated iCal event notifications from calendar or address book.  Cannot turn these off.  They repeat several times per session and every time computer is used.  How to diagnose this

Lion 10.7.2 On both mac book pro and iMac, both with Lion 10.7.2, obtain repeated iCal event notifications from calendar or address book.  Cannot turn these off.  They repeat several times per session and every time computer is used.  How to diagnose this?

First, uninstall "SuperTV" (whatever that is) according to the developer's instructions. It isn't working and it's filling the log with noise.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
    Launch the Console application.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Post the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
PLEASE DO NOT INDISCRIMINATELY DUMP THOUSANDS OF LINES FROM THE LOG INTO A MESSAGE. If you do that, I will not respond.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Turning on Reminders without turning on Calendars

    Hello,
Since Reminders was released, I have had them synced fine between my phone and computer. However, in the past week this is no longer happening. I'd like to turn on my reminders on both my iPhone and MacBook without turning on my iCloud calendar sync. However, it seems that on the iPhone end of things, I can choose to turn on just reminders, while on my computer they are lumped together in the same checkbox (see images.)
I would be okay with syncing them via my gmail, but again there is a discrepancy in the options I have. On my phone, no reminders option exists, but on my accounts tab on my laptop, there it is: reminder sync with gmail! I have also posted images of this.
I found out that if you turn on calendars AND reminders on both ends, then the reminders work. Which is not what I want.
So my question: how can I sync reminders with my computer from my phone, without having to sync my iCloud calendar? Note that i use google calendar exclusively, for work/personal use. I have NEVER used iCloud calendar, never had it synced, and my reminders have worked fine until now.
UPDATE: before, i could get reminders to work by turning reminders+calendars on and off on both devices in iCloud. now it doesn't work at all, no matter what!

  • Is it possible to turn off Calendar alarms on BB but leave them in Outlook?

This probably cannot be done but I thought I'd ask anyhow.
Is there any way to disable or turn off calendar reminder alarms on the blackberry yet leave them enabled on desktop Outlook calendar?
    -Tom

    Welcome to the forums.
Yes, you can turn them off in the Calendar Options.  You can set the Default Reminder to 'None' and the Display Reminders  to 'No'.

  • I have ipod touch 1st gen and it will no longer detect that i have headphones in the headphone jack and so i cannot turn up my volume. Is there any way it can be fixed?

I have ipod touch 1st gen and it will no longer detect that i have headphones in the headphone jack and so i cannot turn up my volume. Is there any way it can be fixed?

    Have you tried:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • I cannot turn contacts on in icloud to sync them to a new phone

I am in process of syncing to a new phone using icloud for contacts calendars etc and it will not sync contacts. I cannot access Mail Contacts Calendars folder as it ejects me immediately and I cannot turn icloud on for contacts as it kicks me out as soon as I click on 'merge'. It hasnt synced any messages either. Calendars have been synced Ok though.

OK lets assume for this discussion I am just as dumb as a box of rocks.........
I have the same problem....... I read your solutions...........
I let ATT&T talk me into an iphone.......refurbished.......$49.00 Ok fine. The computer part worked fine, set it up with itunes on the desk top computer.... no problems. Tried to then do apps with laptop to find out no can do - Ok fine.
Then refurbished phone goes down - replace with brand new phone and set it up on itunes with the laptop........ I get the same 1/2 tone screen as mentioned initially on BOTH computers now. Both are authorized (both running Windows). Tried the change the restrictions button from OFF to ON.......... itunes notices the difference and starts copying apps........ then starts removing apps I freak and stop.
There probably were some differences between the original phone apps and the new phone - should I have allowed this to continue?
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks!!
    Larry
