Cannot type lower case

I cannot type lower case alphabets. seems the shift key seems to be stuck. when i type numbers the signs above the keys appear instead. turning on/off caps lock doesnt help. when selecting one item from a list if the last item is selected then the entire list appears are being selected. On trying to restast it, now oit wont accept my password.
Im stuck. Please help.

George,
I'd wager that it is something that we are both loading, prior to running into the problem. My theory is that those previous images had the All Caps checked, and though we might not have done any Text work, that setting is being carried over.
My thought on the DVD Menus was based on the amount of work that I do with them. Some are from the Encore Library, and might have the All Caps checked. I need to pay close attention to when it comes up, and then look at my Recent Images list. That should tell me. Though you are not doing Menus, I'll bet that it is similar - that, or just the phases of the Moon...
I had never noticed this aberration, until about a year ago, and now have seen it a dozen times on my two machines. I will pay attention next time, rather than just fix and continue.
Good luck,
Hunt

    Hello,
I am suddenly unable to type any lower case characters with the Photoshop type engine.
Everything comes out in all caps whether or not I've used the shift key or Caps Lock.
I have no idea how this happened or how to correct it.
    Please help.
    Thanks for your consideration,

  • Cant type lower case letters

I'm using Elements 8 and no font will type in lower case. All lower case letters are upper case only shorter. Any reason for this??

Double click on the text layer in the layers panel and press Shift+Ctrl+Y (Shft-Cmd-Y) and see if that clears things up.
If that doesn't work try resetting the text tool by clicking on the small downturned arrow in the tool options bar and choose Reset Tool.
Also check that the Caps Lock is not on.

  • X character doesn't type lower case

After using a bluetooth phone with my MacBook the character "X" does not type the lower case. It only types in the upper case, so i know that the key is still functional but will not type when pressed alone....

Open the Speech pane of System Preferences and check whether either the listening key or the speech key has become set to x; if so, change the setting.

  • Cannot type Upper Case 'r'

    Hi,
i cannot type a capital 'r' in forms and applications. Every time when i press Shift + r and a text is marked, the text is read out by the voiceover application. I disabled the voice over application in the settings but it doesn't work.
    Any suggestions?

  • I inadvertently used Caps lock. How do I make the type lower case?

This may have been answered before, and if so I apologize.
I tried the search forum function without success, and I tried Pages help without success.
I do not want to retype it.
    Thanks

This doesn't come built-in to Pages, but you can add this capability easily -- download the hugely useful WordServices from Devon, which, when installed, will put a "Convert" menu option into the "Services" menu (under the Pages menu).
The system-wide Services menu is one of the extremely powerful yet woefully underused aspects of OS X.

  • Can get lower case letters when using bios

I purchased a used macbook air.  Changed the user to me but never changed the old user password.  I recently autorize an update and I can't get in without a password.  I never changed the old user password and newer assigned a password to my name.  Now I can't get in.  I tried going to the bios but I only cant type upper case letters and no lower case letters.  Can someone help me as to how I can type lower case letters when I start the bios?

Unfortunately this is often the case, particularly if the field is not properly identified as a password field, and is true for both Web pages as well as (poorly designed) BlackBery applications.
I've just gotten into the habit of typing the first letter of my password, then hitting the [Del] key, then typing in my full password all the time!

  • No lower case allowed for infoobject despite checkbox unchecked

    Hi,
I get problems with loading data in an infobject when the data is in lower case.
If I understand it correctly, the lower case isn't the trouble maker. If this flag is set, upper case and lower case are distinguished. Otherwise all the letters entered will be converted to upper case.
So to my feeling the lower case data should be converted to uppercase since the checkbox is not checked in my case.
Despite this, I get this error. Data will all capital data loads fine.
Am I missing something? Is this normal?
    Eddy

I think you are interpreting  the checkbox for lowercase wrongly.
If you check the checkbox you should be able to load lower case aswell.
If you donot check this checkbox it only means you cannot load lower case letters, it doesnt mean it will be converted to uppercase. You need to convert it to upper case in your transformation by coding something like :
    TRANSLATE RESULT TO UPPERCASE.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT1338 My MacBook Pro (running Leopard 10.5.8) won't allow keyboard to type an upper case 'C' using the shift key...works fine with caps lock, or, with my Typinator workaround using double-typed lower case c (not always best). Any ideas?

My MacBook Pro keyboard won't type an upper case 'C' using the shift key... only with caps lock. Workaround has been to use Typinator by typing a double lower case c, not always the best solution. Mac is a refurbished model, which initially was fine. Apple tech helped me correct the quirk when it first appeared, but now it has returned and refuses fixes. Any ideas?

I'm willing to bet that this has something to do with iCloud.  I've been facing a frozen computer nearly every time I go into it.
In Activity Monitor I have seen two programs associate with iCloud that take up about 2.5 GB of memory (I only have 4 in the computer) -- causing everything to freeze.  One of these is called "iCloud Helper" and the other one is something like "Address Book Sync helper" -- I see parts of these names in the stuff you have posted.
I am at my wits' end with these and have written to Apple asking them to do away with these or fix them.  To get rid of the Address book sync thing I have gone into system preferences for iCloud and unchecked Contacts -- but then spontaneously it gets rechecked.  And oftentimes after I Force Quit the iCloud helper, it spontaneously turns on again.  My conclusion --- the iCloud is basically unusable.  It turns a Mac into the most useless, clogged, sluggish PC.  If this is happening to a lot of people's computers -- and I see no reason why yours or mine should be an exception -- these programs just might destroy Apple itself.
So -- I'm about to completely give up on iCloud, and I suspect that others will too unless this gets fixed.
    Cheers,
    Bob

  • Hi, i forgot my macbook pro(snow leopard) password and i tried to reset it through single user mode, but whenever i type, everything comes out in CAPs instead of lower case. Each time i press the minus(-), it always comes out as an underscore(_).Pls help.

Well, you can try easing the shift key up with something thin but flexible (credit card sort of thing) but if the contacts below are stuck you may need to get it seen to by an authorised repairer.
If you can borrow a keyboard (a PC one will probably work as long as the password is alpha-numeric with no special characters) you can at least get in to backup your HD before going for repair.

  • Cannot Drop table with lower case name

    Hi,
One of my developer created a table through application in oracle 10g R2,
    when I list tables
    select * from tab;
the table name is shown in lower case or Initcap.
I cannot drop or manipulate that table.
How can I drop that table(s)?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Fahim

use the same case what your table has used and put double quotes on both sides for example if your table is lower case use like:
    DROP TABLE "your_table";HTH

  • Really weird: I am unable to type a lower case "e" in Safari.

Yup, I can type every other letter, number and symbol just not a lower case "e".  I can type in the Smart Search bar, extensions, just not in any webpage.
I have no idea what could be causing this.  Any ideas?
PS: I had to type this out in TextEdit...
