Cannot type Traditional Chinese

I am using the newest version of Firefox for android. I cannot type the Traditional Chinese correctly in any banks in the browser. it is quite inconvenient when using the Google search engine for searching Chinese keywords.
My device is Sony Xperia Z . Thank you for your help.

I am using the default Sony keyboard. I type the Traditional Chinese by the method of Stroke (CJKV character), which is called "筆劃" in Chinese.
Actually, I found the same problem in my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
    I get a pdf file cannot display chinese character properly in Windows 7 64 bit but Windows XP 32 bit.  I did uninstall and re-install Reader 9.4.3 and 10.0.1 with and without Traditional Fonts patch in the 64 bit machine but no luck.  Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Thanks in advance.

    I run Acrobat 9.3.3 on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system with no problems. Perhaps you should make sure you have all of Acrobat 9's maintenance installed.

  • No keyboard for traditional Chinese?

    How do I type traditional Chinese in iPad? I would hate to see that there's no traditional Chinese input method in iPad.

    You can handwrite the Chinese characters directly into the keypad. You can choose traditional Chinese or simplified Chinese too. Click the "globe" icon in the keyboard to switch to different character sets.
    You have to set up the international character set first in the "Settings" app. Then click "General" > "International" > "keyboards" >"Add new keyboards" > "Traditional Chinese" or "Simplified Chinese"
    Once you set this up, you can use the Chinese keyboard by clicking the "globe" icon in the input keyboard. You can cycle through the keyboard character set back in to English by clicking the "globe" again.
    The handwriting input method is cool. You don't have to use other translation methods. It does a fairly good job to do the character recognition, but if you use traditional Chinese, it is not that smart to figure out the complex characters.

  • Cannot type chinese traditional into Facebook.

    hi, i cannot type chinese traditional into facebook

    Hi Jason,
    First of all, I am not familiar with MS .NET Managed Provider for Oracle or Oracle Managed Data Provider.
    How did you insert these Simplified Chinese characters into the NVARCHAR2 column ? Are they hardcoded as string literals as part of the SQL INSERT statement ? If so, this could be because, all SQL statements are converted into the database character set before they are parsed by the SQL engine; hence these Chinese characters would be lost if your db character set was WE8MSWIN1252 but not when it was ZHS16CGB231280.
    Two workarounds, both involved the removal of hardcoding chinese characters.
    1. Rewrite your string literal using the SQL function UNISTR().
    2. Use bind variables instead of text literals in the SQL.
    Thanks

  • After the newest update, i can no longer type in traditional chinese ( pin yin), does anyone else have the same problem?

    after the newest update ( iso 7) , i can no longer type in traditional chinese ( pin yin), does anyone else have the same problem?

    I downloaded and tried EasyFind. It works but it took 30+ seconds to complete finding 3 files that are on One of my Five 25+ Gb partitions of my 130 Gb Seagate Cuda(Really 160 Gb, but my Sawtooth will only recognize 130) I figured that if I ever got a better box, I could reformat it to see the whole 160 Gb. So, as far as I can see, Spotlight's indexing scheme which finds the files instantly is probably preferable. Spot light allows you to rename your files from within it's app window. I've always thought that was pretty powerful. Could my doing so be causing me any issues? As i said it is the inability to Type in the Finder that seemed to be caused from changing file Extentions that were mis-written. Maybe it was a delayed reaction to my renaming files in the Spotlight app? I've done both on occasion.
    As for these .DS_Store files. Apparently you can NOT stop them from being written to any folder that you touch/open/view during a days session. But, as a function of the OS, are the essential to have in their respective folders Forever? I've looked at the .DS_Store terminator app briefly and assume that getting rid of these files won't hurt the regular operation of my OS. They will just be re-written if I ever have to go back to any particular folder again. But, apparently, some have said that if the plan on burning a CD or DVD of their data, they delete the .DS_Store files first and then do the burn.
    I'm thinking from your having suggested this tremination app that you suspect that my having all of these ,DS_Store files could be a situation where any of them could have become corrupted and terminating them regularly should be part of my regular maintenance.
    Does that sound like I'm understanding what I can do?
    TIA

  • I cannot install latest itunes to my Sony notebook which is running on traditional chinese windows 7 64-bit, the error message is something like unrecognized windows package, can any one help me or has similar experience? Thanks.

    I cannot install latest itunes to my Sony notebook which is running on traditional chinese windows 7 64-bit, the error message is something like unrecognized windows package, can any one help me or has similar experience? Thanks.

    iTunes 9.0.x is certainly compatible with Win7 64 bit since I use that exact setup on 3 different PCs. Two suggestions for your installation problems:
    1)Download a new copy of the 64 bit installer from Apple then, instead of just running the itunes installer right click on it and try 'run as adminstrator'. In my experience that clears up a world of problems with program installation in Win7 and Vista. This is necessary even if you're already logged in as an administrator.
    2) Try the previous version of iTunes (9.0.3). You can get a copy at http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=54 again right click on the file and "run as administrator"
    Good luck, hope this helps.

    Try holding down the shift key when you go to launch iTunes. If this is the first time you've installed iTunes on the PC, click the "Create library" button, and create your library where you please. If you have installed iTunes before (and have an existing library), click "Choose library" and browse to the location of your current iTunes library file.

  • UTF8 and Traditional chinese display problem

    I have having problems displaying chinese because I am trying to pull data from 2 difference sources into a 3rd source.
    Question 1
    I am using Oracle 8.17 on Sun Solaris - (in China).
    The NLS_LANG on that machine (Machine name is CNCIM) is American. The NLS_CHARACTERSET is ZHS16GBK.
    We are using Java to write data into this server. The data has been stored as UTF8.
    When I use TOAD, to look at the chinese characters, I cannot see the actual characters.
    What I see in TOAD is something like this
    上海市山东中路145号
    Convert function does not seem to work. Can someone advice me how I can see the raw data in chinese?
    Question 2
    Currently, I am also trying to import the above UTF8 data into my Local Oracle Machine (APDM)
    The NLS_LANG on that machine is American. The NLS_CHARACTERSET is WE8ISO8859P1.
    And at the sametime, I am trying to import information from SQL2000 into Local Oracle Machine (APDM).
    I was told that the data in SQL2000 has been setup as tradtional Chinese.
    What type of settings should I have on my local machine(APDM) to allow me to view Chinese data (From CNCIM - UTF8) and to see the SQL2000(traditional chinese) data at the same time? Should this settings
    be configured for my client too?

    My hunch is that Toad either does not support the display of Chinese characters, at least not without setting your Windows regional settings to Chinese. Can you retrieve the data via your Java application?
    If your database character set is ZHS16GBK, that should be the character set that the data is stored in the database. If your Java application is sending over UTF-8 encoded data, you need to ensure that the NLS_LANG settings on the client machine identify the data as UTF-8 so that Oracle can do the necessary character set conversion.
    If your local database is using the ISO 8859-1 character set, it cannot store Chinese data. You would need to create a new database with a character set that supports Chinese if you wanted to store Chinese data there.

  • Cannot print out Chinese , show as '?' in pdf report

    Hi ,
    I installed standalone version of BI publisher with Apex3.1, try to use the pdf printing function, but any time I print out pdf no matter on my our application or within the apex sql workshop. all the chinese charaters are missing, and instead, showed as '?', that is too bad.
    I posted and searched the forum of BI , I got answers of the font mapping, but I added some Chinese fonts, but it was still the same problem.
    But when I print as RTF or other type the Chinese is Ok.
    So is this a problem with Apex itself, instead of BI?
    How to solve this problem?
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    >>I copied some ttf Chinese fonts file into the location you both mentioned, but after that, I cannot find any of them at the Font mapping.
    That is very strange.
    Most likely you had copied the files to the wrong directory else they will be displayed inside the Target Font dropdown list.
    My BI Publisher directory path in my notebook is :
    d:\Ora_Home_1\jdk\jre\lib\fonts
    Do not confuse it with the Oracle DB which is:
    d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\jdk\jre\lib\fonts

  • Nls_lang for psp with Traditional Chinese

    I have two Oracle environments:
    1. Oracle 817 on Windows 2000 (eng) with Traditional Chinese as default locale, and
    2. Oracle 816 on Solaris with Oracle 9iAS portal.
    in both environment, I wanted to create a simple page as follows:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Welcome</title>
    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=big5">
    </head>
    <body>
    <h3>Welcome to this page</h3>
    Welcome Here
    </body>
    </html>
    If I put this page under a virtual directory of Apache, the client browser would change the encoding to Traditional Chinese (Big 5) if "Auto-Select" is selected in encoding. Now, I try to put this in a psp. The page comes up with encoding change to "Western European (ISO)". I view the source from the page and it is just the same as the one under a virtual directory of Apache.
    Why does this happen?
    How can I make the client browser change to "Traditional Chinese (Big 5)" encoding?
    I tried to set the NLS_LANG before using loadpsp but that didn't make any difference. Any idea?

    Do you mean that I will have problem later if I don't change the database character set?Yes , definitely. What you are doing is storing invalid multibyte characters into a single byte database. So each double byte BIG5 characters are being treated as 2 separate WE8ISO8859P1 (Latin1) characters. You are using an unsupported but common garbage in garbage out approach, so in that sense you are using Oracle as a garbage container :) .
    Let's look at some of the issues that you are going to have :-
    All SQL Functions are based on the property on the database character set WE8ISO8859P1. So LENGTH(), SUBSTR (), INSTR (), UPPER(), NLS_UPPER etc .. will yield incorrect results . For example a column with one BIG5 character and one ASCII character will return a length of 3 characters rather than 2 characters. And if you want to locate a specific character in a mix ASCII and BIG5 string using the SUBSTR() it will be very difficult, because to Oracle the string consists of all single byte Latin1 characters, it will not skip 2 bytes for a BIG5 character. Even if you don't have mix strings, you will need to have one routine for handling ASCII only and another for BIG5 strings.
    Invalid Data conversion , if your need to talk to another db using dblink say ,all the character conversion will be based on Latin1 to the target database character set mapping, so the receiver will lose all the source BIG5 characters and will get 2 Latin1 characters for each BIG5 char instead .
    Export and Import will have identical problems, character set conversion are performed during these operations, so all BIG5 characters will be lost. This also means that you can not load BIG5 data into your current DB using IMPORT or SQLLOADER without data corruption ...

  • Substring formula problem for Traditional Chinese

    Dear all,
    I created two InfoObjects (type: character, length: 60)in order to load one field with 100 characters from R/3. I created formula in transfer rule using "Substring" function for each of the two InfoObjects (e.g. Substring(field_name, 0, 60) and Substring(field_name, 60, 40). The data is in Traditional Chinese and both R/3 and BW are Unicode verison. The first InfoObject seems always get less than 60 characters, but the second InfoObject get 40 characters correctly. When I use English data to test, both InfoObjects get correct legnth of data. Does anyone come across this problem before? Thanks a lot.

  • No Traditional Chinese Support?

    Why i-Pad doesn't support Traditional Chinese like iPhone does? Since they're using the same OS, it shouldn't be a problem. There're several places and countries still using Traditional Chinese like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and lots of overseas Chinese communities. Most of the signs you can see around the Chinatowns all over the world are using Traditional Chinese. I don't see any reason why Apple want to ban Traditional Chinese. Is it another work by Chinese government? I hope Apple will include it when next OS is available.

    I don't see any reason why Apple want to ban Traditional Chinese.
    Not including a language does not equate to "banning" it.

    The Chinese government cannot be involved since Apple hasn't released the iPad in any of those places yet. Perhaps when the iPad is released there, it will have support for Traditional Chinese. You can express your interest in that feature here:
