Cannot undo for deleted messages - using gmail

When I delete an email message using the Mail application I cannot go to the edit menu and choose undo.  It does not allow me to choose this option.  At one point I was able to do this, but I must have changed some settings in trying to get my email to sync properly.  I read a post on the web that said the gmail imap setting should be set auto expunge off- wait for the client to update the server.  I did do this and also chose move the message to the trash in the gmail imap settings.  Any input in what I can do resolve this issue woould be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in davance.

You must delete the account on your iPhone and recreate the account as a POP account.
When recreating the account, don't choose the Gmail account preset.
Select "Other" instead and then POP as the account type - entering the required account setup information for accessing the account as a POP account.

  • Undo Delete after it says "cannot undo this delete."

    How is this done for an audio file recorded and subsequently deleted in Logic? OS X Snow Leopard iMac, Logic 8, I deleted the wrong audio track (ouch) and it said "Cannot Undo this delete." Well, I need to undo this darned delete! Where is the file I deleted??? It must be on the drive somewhere.
    How to recover it? Haven't closed this same session within the application yet.

    If the deleted file was recorded since the opening of the project, it is erased from the drive. A dialog warned you about this.
    If the recording took place before the current session, it's still in the Audio Bin.
    In general, warnings about deletion, erasure and other non-trivial file management stuff are better taken seriously. If it says 'cannot undo this delete', this usually means it cannot undo this delete.

  • Convergence - default behavior for deleting messages

    How do you set the default behavior for deleting messages in Convergence to move to Trash instead of marking as deleted?

    jessethompson wrote:
    I deleted the nswmExtendedUserPrefs attribute completely on a test account. Then I logged in to Convergence with that account. I went to Options -> Mail -> General and confirmed that "Mark messages as deleted" is selected. I went back and checked the nswmExtendedUserPrefs, and they remain empty.It appears Convergence will not propagate nswmExtendedUserPrefs values if the system folders already exist. So if you log into Convergence for the first time (nswmExtendedUserPrefs unset) but you already have "INBOX" / "Trash" / "Sent" and "Drafts" folders created on the IMAP server (e.g. you had previously accessed the account using an IMAP client which had created the folders) the matching nswmExtendedUserPrefs: values won't get added.
    Specifically, the default behavior of this option is the opposite of ME. Should I open a Sun call to file an RFE to have this default setting changed back to the way it was?I've created a bug for this behaviour as it is inconsistent with UWC/CE behaviour and can lead to confusing default behaviour:
    bug #6862511 - "Convergence doesn't set defaults for nswmExtendedUserPrefs if system folders already exist"
    Raise a support case to get this bug escalated.

  • JMS/AQ: Setting properties for JMS message using PL/SQL

    I have created a procedure in PL/SQL that uses JMS messages, and now I need to include a property so that the subscriber can use a message selector to filter out unwanted messages. Is this possible using PL/SQL?
    A previous post said: "... But you can have properties in the message payload itself and also define selectors on the message content ...". But I looked at Sun's tutorial and there it said: "A message selector cannot select messages on the basis of the content of the message body."
    I have 300 different screens and messages apply only to one screen at a time. When the user is looking at screen 'A' I want him to only recieve messages that apply to screen 'A'. I thought I would do this with message selector, but is there any other way?
    Here is my code(borrowed from an earlier post)
    PROCEDURE ENQUEUE_JMS_MESSAGE AS
    BEGIN
    DECLARE
    Enqueue_options DBMS_AQ.enqueue_options_t;
    Message_properties DBMS_AQ.message_properties_t;
    Message_handle RAW(16);
    User_prop_array SYS.AQ$_JMS_USERPROPARRAY;
    Agent SYS.AQ$_AGENT;
    Header SYS.AQ$_JMS_HEADER;
    Message SYS.AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE;
    Message_text VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    Agent := SYS.AQ$_AGENT('',NULL,0);
    User_prop_array := SYS.AQ$_JMS_USERPROPARRAY();
    Header := SYS.AQ$_JMS_HEADER( Agent, '', 'aq1', '', '', '', User_prop_array);
    Message_text := 'Message 1 from PL/SQL';
    Message := SYS.AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE(Header, LENGTH(Message_text), Message_text, NULL);
    DBMS_AQ.ENQUEUE(queue_name => 'tstopic',
    Enqueue_options => enqueue_options,
    Message_properties => message_properties,
    Payload => message,
    Msgid => message_handle);
    END;
    END;

    Thanks for the answer. I managed to set the Correlation id and retrieve it using getJMSCorrelationID(). But I did not manage to use the MessageSelector on it. I have used the Topicbrowser which is not part of the JMS standard? I tried to enqueue the messages using Java too and tried to use the topicbrowser on both JMSCorrelationID and user defined properties withou success. Is there some special requirements of the TopicBrowser?
    Enumeration messages;
    oracle.jms.TopicBrowser browser =tsess.createBrowser(topic, "TS", "JMSCorrelationID = 'TST'");
    int count = 0;
    messages = browser.getEnumeration();
    if(messages.hasMoreElements())
    System.out.println("message"); //never executed
    dtxtmsg = (TextMessage)(tsub1.receiveNoWait()) ; //returns a message
    String corrID = dtxtmsg.getJMSCorrelationID(); //returns: TST
    Thanks for your help so far...it would really save my day if you have some ideas on this too!

  • Can't delete messages using delete key in Outlook 2007

    After upgrading to Exchange 2010, we are seeing an intermittent problem where users in Outlook 2007 can't delete messages from their inbox using the delete key.  Opening the message and clicking delete from there will delete it from the inbox.
    They can also drag the messages from the inbox to deleted items.
    The issue comes and goes during the day.  One minute delete will work and then it won't and then it will again.
    Thanks,
    Crystal

    Hi Crystal,
    How many uses have the issue?
    Did you check the Outlook add-in or Anti-Virus application?
    Please check whether there is any error/warning event in the Event Viewer.
    Please recreate the Outlook profile for user if possible.
    Please try to run the cmdlet New-MailboxRepairRequest.

  • Apple mail won't stop deleting messages from Gmail server

    Hello everyone:
    For a long time I had my mail set up to delete messages from the gmail server, but recently I changed my mind. I tried changing the settings to remove copy after a month and nothing happened, i.e. immediately deleted messages from server. Now I've tried changing it to never remove a copy and it is still doing it. What am I missing?

    I should say: it does leave a copy in "all mail" but deletes it from the inbox section so they are unavailable on my iPhone as soon as my laptop grabs it....

  • E mail is frozen.  Cannot open or delete messages., E mail is frozen.  Cannot open or delete messages.

    E mail is frozen.  Cannot send or receive messages.  Checked settings which seem correct.  also, i signed off from aol mail on the web.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Or quit mail and restart.
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Look at Message using Gmail but doesn't recongize on Mail

    When im home i use Apple Mail but anytime on the road i use Gmail. When ever I look at a message on gmail it doesn't recongize that the message has been read on Mail
    I have set IMAP on both Gmail & Mail.
    What should i do?

    I also upgraded to Lion and do have font problems in Mail. Just in some mails, including my own signature.
    I just updated today with 10.7.1, but still have the font problem.
    Does anyone know if Apple will solve this?

  • Cannot search for "@" symbol when using search function

    I am trying to create a calculated column which extracts the domain part of an email address. My problem is that no type of search formula (SEARCH or FIND) seems to be able to recognise the "@" symbol so I get an error stating that
    "The search TEXT provided to function 'SEARCH' could not be found in the given text"
    Even more bizarre is that if I do just a general search in my table (CTRL + F from inside Powerpivot) it cannot find @ symbols either. Could someone please explain why PowerPivot cannot search for the @ symbol (I haven't tested others) and whether there
    is a solution?
    The formula I was trying to use was:
    =SUBSTITUTE(A1, LEFT(A1,FIND("@",A1)),"")
    Obviously with A1 replaced by the column name of where my email data is stored.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Both FIND() and SEARCH() should find the "@" in PowerPivot.
    I have done it many times.
    You probably have one row in your data set that doesn't contain "@".  That will cause the error you describe and if one row in a Calculated Column causes an error, every row has an error if you do nothing to account for it.
    Try wrapping your formula in an IFERROR([Your Formula], BLANK()).
    This should allow it to run successfully on valid rows and will show a blank on any rows that are causing problems.
    Once you identify the problem row (or rows) you can make a decision about how to deal with it.

  • Inbox reloads, cannot move or delete messages

    I'm on a Macbook Air, OS X 10.9.4, using Thunderbird. Previously used Mail, switched in hopes of solving this problem (didn't work). Email is IMAP.
    Every few minutes, my inbox will completely refresh and re-download all messages. Many of the actions I had taken will not be reflected - some messages will be marked read, but not all, for example.
    I cannot move anything out of my inbox. If I delete, archive, or otherwise move a message, it will appear both in the new folder and again in the inbox, the next time the inbox reloads. If I delete an email five times over the course of the morning, there will be five copies in the trash and one still in the inbox.
    As far as I know, I am able to send and receive email without issue.
    I was previously using Mail and had a similar experience, though in Mail, all inbox messages would disappear and I had to rebuild or quit/open Mail to get the inbox to reappear. In Thunderbird, it is refreshing on its own.
    Help!!

    Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore is not, in itself, a solution.
    First, empty the Trash, if possible.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 \) 2>&- | wc -l | pbcopy
    Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run.
    Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.
    The output of the command will be a number. It's automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste it into a reply.
    The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • Cannot make AutoArchive delete messages in Outlook 2010

    I have recently upgraded to Outlook 2010 from Outlook 2007. I previously had AutoArchive set up to delete files from two of the folders in my pst file by date. I figured I would be able to set it up the same way in the new version. First, I set up the main
    autoarchive settings:
    Then I set up each folder I want auto-deleted individually:
    This worked fine in the old version of Outlook. However, in 2010, it doesn't ever delete any messages. When I run AutoArchive manually, that doesn't do anything either.
    Based on this page and various google
    searches, I have already done the following testing / troubleshooting:
    In spot checks, I could not find any items that had the "Do not AutoArchive this item" checkbox marked.
    The majority of the Received dates are the same as the last Modified date. Just to be sure, I made the registry change described in the link above, then used Outlook normally for two days. No emails were deleted in that time.
    None of the emails in question are marked as Important or have a user-defined category.
    I ran the scanpst.exe on my pst file. It did say there were internal errors (no details of the errors, even when I clicked on the details button), so I let it fix them. Then, I ran it again and it said there were no errors. I used Outlook normally for two more
    days. It still didn't delete any emails.
    The pst file is not on a network share.
    The pst file is a unicode-type file, which has a maximum size of either 20GB or 50GB, depending on what source you read. My file is nearly 3GB. It is therefore not full.
    My mailbox, which is on a Microsoft Exchange, is also not full.
    None of this changes the fact that the AutoArchive is not deleting any emails as it is set to do. Am I missing something, or does this feature just not work in Outlook 2010? Thanks in advance for any help with this, as it is annoying.

    Bob-
    I finally gave up in frustration.  I had to hunt down a third party utility to dump all my Outlook for Mac data back into a format that could be used by Outlook for Windows.  Outlook for Mac can import from several sources, including directly from .pst files, but gives you no way to go the other way.  Installed Outlook in Windows running in Parallels and dumped Outlook for Mac.  Outlook is just about the only program I run in Windows anymore.
    By the way, none of the suggestions in the Microsoft forum came close to solving this.  I wouldn't recommend Oultook for Mac to anyone.
