Cannot uninistall or upgrade Itunes 9.0.2.25

I am presently trapped in a 'no mans land' situation regarding my itunes install. I previously had itunes 9.0.2.25 running on win 7. After a bit of instability in the application, I wanted to upgrade to the latest version 9.0.3.15. The installet would not let me do this upgrade even after numerous attempts.
I then decided to do a standard windows uninstall of 9.0.2. This failed also saying the itunes64.msi file could not be found. Even after I located this file it still said it was invalid.
I then tried to remove itunes using Revo Uninstaller Pro, which seemed to work okay but not perfectly.
No I can neither re-install 9.0.2 or 9.0.3 as it keeps asking for the itunes64.msi file.
Please help, my laptop is otherwise 100% clean and stable.

Fixed the problem by using 'Forced uninstall mode' in REVO uninstaller. Typed in 'itunes' and the software found any remnants of itunes in the registry which I could then delete. Did the same with Quicktime, and then downloaded 9.0.3 and installed from scratch. I wish apple would make their software a bit less tetchy..

  • I upgraded itunes today and now some of my music from cd's is in grey and I cannot open it on. I changed sync to AAC and went in and selected genres, artists, albums that I wanted to download.  I want to listen to my music.  Can anyone help me?? Please! .

I downloaded latest version of iTunes to my computer today and now some of my music - a lot - is showing up in grey after syncing to my iPhone 5 and I cannot open it.  All music is from cd's purchased and before download was accessible.  I went to SYNC and changed to AAC and reselected genres, artists, albums and synced again without success.  Can anyone help? Please.  I am so frustrated and have wasted all day on this.  I want my music back!!!

When you upgraded, itunes should have put a copy of the itunes library database in a folder named *Previous iTunes Libraries* . If you upgraded itunes today it will show as
    iTunes Library 2010-02-28.itl
Use these directions to get it back
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1967
Since I am not sure of your setup, look for the "Previous" folder on both your C: and F: drives.

  • Still cannot upgrade iTunes

This is an update to an earlier question I had posted.
    I desperately need help!
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with Windows Vista 32-bit and a 2nd generation iPod touch running iOS 3.1.3 (7E18). However, I would, obviously, like to upgrade to the latest iPhone OS.
    The problem? I can't.
Ever since iTunes 9 came out, I have been unable to successfully upgrade iTunes. I can only get up to version 8.2.1 to work on my computer. The install will appear to go fine, but I'll get various errors and even after getting a "iTunes was successfully installed" finish window, get an error saying that iTunes cannot open because Apple Application Support was not found, even though Apple Application Support installs as part of the iTunes install for iTunes 9 and higher. I also get an error trying to update via Apple Software Update.
I have literally tried every single thing I can think of or find online, including the "trouble installing iTunes" troubleshooting instructions on Apple's website. I am not sure I can take this to Apple for repairs because my iPod is out of warranty. Plus I have a PC, not a Mac. I did call a nearby Apple Store to see if I could bring it in, only to be told they don't work on PCs. The guy then asked what my issue was, and I told him. He told me to try Googling it, which of course I have already done -- many, many times.
To prove my claim is real, I have been making screenshots of all my errors. Here they are:
When installing iTunes from the website or from a prompt within my current iTunes version, after a bit I tend to get this error:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/ituneserror1.png
I click ok, the install continues, and then on occasion I have gotten this error:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/ituneserror2.png
I click out of it, the install continues, and then when it's almost to the end, it tends to stall:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/itunesstall.png
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/itunesstall2.png
Once recently while it was stalled, I got this error:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/applemobiledeviceerror.png
(I should mention, in relation to this error, that I am the only user of the computer on which this is occurring, and I do have admin privileges on it).
Yet after all that, I still get this happy screen:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/itunescongratsinstalled.png
I click "Finish," only to get these errors:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/ituneserror3.png
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/ituneserror4.png
As I've said, I've tried everything. Someone suggested I install QuickTime separately, which I did recently, only to get this error:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/quicktimeerror.png
And as I said before, trying to do the update via Apple Software Update doesn't help either:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/iTunes%20Upgrade%20Error%20Screens hots/ituneserror_applesoftwareupdate-1.png
    What should I do???

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up +en passant.+
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. Do they fail to install? If so, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you?

  • Upgraded iTunes: now cannot see the Podcasts on my iPod nano

I know it sounds odd but I am genuinely sad that I have not been able to use my iPod for two days:
I bought an iPod nano when they first came out and have been very happy with it. Two days ago I upgraded iTunes for the first time (to 7.6.2.9). Since then I have not been able to "see" the Podcasts on my Nano from iTunes.
This is an issue because it is mostly full of music which I'd rather not delete, and the remainder is Podcasts which I download, load, and delete every day.
If I cannot delete the old Podcasts, I cannot fill it up with new ones.
The first thing I did was to upgrade the iPod firmware (to 1.3.1) but I still can't see the Podcasts. I have tried to read the documentation and go through all settings in iTunes, look on the web but with no success.
My friend has a similar generation iPod and iTunes (~7.5). On this version of iTunes, the Podcasts are also gone. When I plug in my friend's iPod it has a Podcast icon as well as the Music icon. The older version of iTunes let me, I think, see the Podcasts together with the Music.
Could I somehow have "deleted" a Podcast icon which iTunes need? Can it be restored save for wiping my beloved iPod clean? Can I gracefully downgrade to an old version of iTunes without losing my Music/Podcast library?
Is anyone familiar with the problem?
    Regards,
    Allan

Allan is this the same problem I have - downloaded a couple of chapters of a podcast onto nano - and they played fine - although I had to search for them to find them. Then connected to computer and wanted to search to delete them but no search brings them up? If it is the same, have you resolved your issue? I have same problem that no more room to store so I want to get rid of the listened to podcasts.(ps I'm on windows not mac) Thanks, Ele

  • Cannot upgrade itunes v 10.5 to 10.7 on a PC due to Bonjour error, what can I do?

I have tried to upgrade itunes 10.5 to 10.7 on my PC but keep on getting "older version of Bonjour cannot be removed". I have tried to locate msicuu2.exe which was suggested might help but I understand that microsoft has withdrawn it as it conflicts with office 2007, which I have. Anyway I was unable to find it anywhere.
The current version of iTunes 10.5 operates with my iPod Classic but not with my iPhone 4s whose software v6 requires a later version of iTunes.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi b noir
I have followed your suggestion and this time the itunes installed to give me 10.7.  However on restarting the computer the error message from AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found "The Procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll."
Is this likely to cause any problems or can it be ignored?  What do you think?
Anyway Itunes appears to load OK. I have still to try syncing the iPod and the iPhone.  It was the latter that required the upgrade.
    Thanks for your help.

  • After upgrading iTunes software, I cannot import playlists

After upgrading iTunes software, I cannot import playlists.  Help!

    To be more clear:
    1.  My music and my playlists are on an external drive.  My playlists are saved as .m3u files.
    2.  Everything was working perfectly before the iTunes upgrade yesterday.  But now when I use the iTunes "File/Library/Import Playlist" feature, the playlist that is imported is EMPTY.
    3.  I can open the .m3u file and see that it contains the songs with their full path.  So the .m3u file contains the correct information, it is just not importing into iTunes like it used to.
    4.  Apparenty when iTunes upgraded, it changed some setting and now everything is out of sync.
    I am so stumped.

  • Cannot connect to the iTunes Store from my home network since I upgraded to ios 6

I own an iPad 2 and recently upgraded to ios 6. Since then, I cannot connect to the iTunes store from my home network.  I can navigate any other site and access any other application.  I can even reach the iTunes store through My Personal Hotspot and through my office network.
Has anyone experienced something similar?  My network carrier is Telmex and I know for sure, they block port 25.  Any guess on whether there could be a setting impeding connection?
    Help!!!

    Hi Nickey,
If you are having difficulty connecting to the iTunes store from your PC there are a number of things you can try to get connected again. Details are available in this article -
Can't connect to the iTunes Store

I see you have already checked to make sure your system and other software is up to date, but there are plenty of ways to continue from there.

  • Cannot upgrade ITunes on my PC at ALL

Hello. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop that I purchased in August 2008 and I own an iPod touch 2nd generation that I bought in January 2008. I was able to use iTunes on this laptop and with this device fine until (some time ago) I tried to upgrade to iTunes 9 via Apple Software Update. However, something always went wrong with the update and iTunes could never open if upgraded even if it supposedly installed correctly. I eventually had to downgrade to 8.2.1, downloading this downgrade from a third-party site, to get iTunes to be functional at all.
I have since repeatedly tried to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes, first 9, then the various upgrades of 9, and finally now to version 10. However, I still cannot get it to install properly! Here is what happened when I tried to install it today, with screencaps I made via Print Screen.
At first, the install seemed to be running normal. Then, this error popped up:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/ituneserror1.png
I clicked OK and it rolled back whatever action was then happening and went on its merry way.
As it got towards the end, the install stalled for some time, looking like so:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/itunesstall.png
A little later, a "Windows Installer has closed" error popped up, prompted by Data Execution Protection:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/ituneserror2.png
I clicked it away and the install continued. Long story short, the install finished and I was greeted by this happy window:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/itunescongratsinstalled.png
However, when I clicked "Finish," this error came up:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Dani17/ituneserror3.png
Now, Apple Application Support is supposed to install as part of the iTunes installation, yes? So how could it be missing?!
Anyway, this explanation more or less displays what happens to me every time I try to install and/or upgrade iTunes. I have tried basically any method I can find for fixing this, and nothing has worked! Help!!!!

Go to start -> control panel -> programs and features -> scroll down to iTunes -> highlight iTunes -> click uninstall -> reboot PC -> go to http://www.apple.com/iTunes -> download and install iTunes 10...
I had this exact same issue today on one of the computers I was working on at work...

  • Cannot reinstall Quicktime and upgrade ITunes

My wife and daughter both needed to upgrade itunes but I could not upgrade Quicktime. Someone mentioned you needed to delete quicktime which I did. I have turned off all firewalls and virsus software. When i go to down I get many error messages such as "Local_machine\software\classes\Quicktime\CLSID.
As someone mentioned I went into the registry and added 'Administrators" to the permissions. This process did not work.
Any idea how to get rid of all these"verify key" messages?
    Thanks
    Bob

    pac_80 and Skita,
Well folks, I have spent 4 hours trying to figure this out! I did everything you asked me. I changed the settings under users, I erased all the ipod, itunes, and quicktime files, exactly as instructed.
I went back on, and downloaded quicktime ( one of you suggested just downloading quicKtime separately, but for the life of me, I could not find it) because everytime it wants to downloaded both quicktime and itunes.
I still get the same message:
    COULD NOT OPEN KEY
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE-\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\QUICKTIME.QUCIKTIME\CLSID
VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT ACCESS TO THAT KEY.
One of you gave me a thread to where I go to the registry and change the settings. I tried this but unfortunately there is no way to change it as per the instructions.
In addition, both users are administrators.
    I guess I have a few options:
try to find a way to download just quicktime (cannot find the link)
go back into the registry and delete ALL lines with quicktime (not too sure what would happen)
    or
    give up!
Any other suggestions to help this usually cool under pressure person would be appreciated!
    Thanks Bob

You've done great so far to upgrade to Leopard & install more RAM. Now install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
After you install the 10.5.8 update, click on the Apple in the menu & select Software Update. You will then be informed of some application updates. iTunes may be one of them. Then click to install the app updates.

    Hey there MattSK123,
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are unable to see either of your devices in the sidebar of iTunes after a recent update. A number of issues could cause this type of behaviour, and would recommend starting with the troubleshooting from the article named:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
If the issue is not resolved, I would next re install iTunes from either of the following articles depending on the version of Windows you have:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
    Or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP
