Cannot uninstall PC Suite

Every time I try to uninstall my old software PC Suite, version 6.012.00, I keep getting an error message 'An error (-5005:0x80070002) has occurred while running the setup'. PC Companion has installed itself on my laptop and now I need to uninstall the old version. I have used the old version before with no problems. How do I get past this error?

Yes, I have, and as I said, I get the exact same error as carneym45.
I have solved it by manually removing the program now. I had to "Update" all the USB hub drivers, show list of drivers on this computer and then select the driver that was at the bottom of the list (that is the Microsoft USB driver) Then delete progrem files, and stop the Sony Ericsson update service to delete all files. However, it would have been nicer if Sony Ericsson provided an official way to do it. I had to search the net and try some of the recipes found here and there.
Also, whats up with this 6.00.12 version? I only find possibility to download it from warez sites... Was there a bogus update?
Best regards,
Ivan

  • Cannot uninstall PC Suite therefore cannot install...

    Dear All,
    I have just tried to install a new version of the PC suite and get the following error;
"This version of PC Connectivity Solution cannot be used with the currently installed version of Nokia PC Suite. Update or uninstall Nokia PC Suite before trying to install PC Connectivity Solution again"
I have tried to fully uninstall PC Suite as well as any other releated apps and drivers. I have done this logged on in each account on my PC and still no joy. My PC is running XP Pro.
Does anyone know what to do or have a way of uninstalling all nokia solutions and drivers so I can start again?
Your help will be much appreciated, regards Joe

Problems updating to the latest versions of PC Suite can usually be resolved by running PC Suite Cleaner to fully uninstall the previous version.
PCSuite Cleaner 3.6 can be downloaded from

  • Cannot uninstall Technical Suite 3

I recently installed Technical Suite 5 on my system. I was able to successfully uninstall Technical Suite 4, but when I went to uninstall Technical Suite 3, I got an error message. "Your uninstallation encountered errors. Please try restarting your computer and uninstall again. If that does not resolve the problem, download and run the Adobe Creative Suite CLeaner Tool.
Well, I restarted and still had the error. Downloading the Creative Suite Cleaner tool did not help because it cannot find Creative Suite. I am trying to uninstall TECHNICAL suite. Apparently there is no tool for that.
The problem I have (besides the fact that TechSuite 3 is almost 5 GB in size) is that Frame 10 keeps hijacking my default opening app. No matter how many times I tell the computer to use Frame 12, every time I restart it defaults back to Frame 10. It's annoying.
Does anyone know how to uninstall Technical Suite 3 if the Control panel will not work? For the record, I cannot uninstall the apps individualy because Adobe bundled them and the individual apps are not listed.

I understand that the individual suite components may not be listed, but I thought the whole suite showed up in the Add/Remove Programs list. I’d suggest using Revounistaller to really dig out all entries. You may end up having to have your TCS3 install media present to get rid of it. You can also contact Adobe TCS Support – install issues are usually a freebie call.

  • Cannot uninstall PC Suite using PC Suite Cleaner!

My PC Suite Installation 6.86.9.0 was not working properly anymore so I uninstalled it and attempted to re-install.
However the uninstall apparently was incomplete such that the installer complained about it and stopped.
PC Suite Cleaner (3.6.002)(does not resolve the problem either since in cannot operate on the installed PC Suite version!
    Any help appreciated.
    Kind regards, Waldemar

Playing within the registry of XP can be quite dangerous. Have you tried rebooting your computer? Try to install pc suite again after a reboot.
If not, open the list of installed programs and find pc suite (if it's still shown in there of course) and uninstall it. I guess it will come with a message that it might already be uninstalled but hopefully it will remove the entry there if there is one no matter what error message pops up.
Then install ccleaner  and remove all trash and run a registry scan on it. Hopefully this would remove all corrupted or invalid entries and maybe fix it. It's at least a safer way to remove dead ends in the registry than doing it your self.
Reboot the computer and try to install the pc suite again.

  • Cannot uninstall Creative Suite CS

I recently upgraded my computer to Windows 7.  The builder installed my old CS(no number) premium.  In the meantime I decided to upgrade to CS4 web premium.  I attempted to uninstall the old CS and my computer hung.  Now the old CS is still in the add/remove programs but when I attempt to remove it, Windows does not respond.  I have since installed my new CS4 and want to give the old CS to a friend.
I have two issues.  1) I want to get the old CS off my machine and 2) I want to release the serial number so that my friend can use it.  Does anyone have suggestions?  Thx.

Each version is independent. You could have both on your machine and use them independently

  • Cannot uninstall/re-install CS3 master collection suite

    Hi,
I’m having problems getting through this:
    I am running Windows 7
I have installed Adobe CS3 Mater Collection Suite in trial version. The programs were working ok but
After some days starting any of the programs gives this error:
"You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help."
I have tried to uninstall and re-install the suite without success: for install the setup would start but then just exits without any error or warning. For uninstalling in Control Panel it seems to load something but nothing comes up. For any other program I try to uninstall the process works without problems.
I have followed Adobe article http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402048.html
I have tried to run the Adobe CS5 Cleaner Tool for Windows but it finds no Adobe products installed
I haven’t used MSICUU2.exe as it has been discontinued from Microsoft
I have tried to uninstall using Windows in Safe Mode but no luck, the uninstall does not start.
I have tried to create a new user with admin rights to uninstall the Suite but no luck.
    thanks,
    Mic

    Missed that part.

  • How do I uninstall Nokia Suite?

I uninstalled Nokia Suite, but I still regularly get pop-ups saying 'Please wait while Windows configures Nokia Suite'. When I press Cancel, I get the message 'No valid source could be found for product Nokia Suite. The Windows Installer cannot continue.'. I've even run the Nokia Suite uninstaller - this removed some registry entries, but I still keep getting the message, How do I remove Nokia Suite once and for all?

Someone in Nokia support suggested I try the Windows install/uninstall utility from the Microsoft website, and that seems to have done the trick. The link I was given was http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall, but this doesn't seem to work at the moment.

  • Cannot uninstall trial version internet explorer conflict

I cannot uninstall InDesign CS3 trial. I get an error message
installation cannot continue until the following applications are
    closed: internet explorer.
Since internet explorer is not operating this message must mean
    something else.
Any ideas to fix this so I can install full CS3 Suite?
    Bob

Could be your active desktop, if you have that enabled. Try switching to a plain vanilla desktop (even a plain vanilla no unnecessary startup items boot would probably help).
You can also try right clicking on the process and choosing "end process tree" but I have no idea what dependencies there might be which would cause your system to crash or lock up if stopped when you do that.

  • Cannot uninstall cs 5.5

hi I need to re-install cs 5.5, I have gone thru the instructions to uninstall and get msg  The alias “Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found. I cannot "uninstall" either of the 2 ways at this point, no installer/uninstaller options for any adobe products on my files
I am at a standstill and need to re-install my cs 5.5 - not sure what to do, any advice

  • Extension Manager CS6 hangs on "Loading Extensions" and I cannot uninstall it.

    Hello,
I've been having trouble with extension manager cs6 for about two days now, trying to apply patches to it to make it run more smoothly and stop hanging on "Loading Extensions". I have looked through these forums and they suggested that I remove all mxi files from a subfolder called "EM Store", but I cannot find a EM store under the proper location. I also cannot uninstall extension manager from my control panel, as it does not show up. I am just trying to get keyframe caddy for Adobe Flash, but I cannot get it without extension manager which is a giant pain. I've seen other people post both of their log files, but I think that just makes these forums impossible to find any real answers, as the majority of it is the log file. Please help asap, as I need this project that I am doing to be done fairly quickly.
    Short story:
    1. Manager hangs at "Loading Extensions"
    2. Tried patching with updates, did not work
    3. Tried finding the two subfolders, cannot find them at all in proper location
    4. Cannot uninstall it from control panel
    5. Need Help asap

You should delete EM Store and Database, then try again, you can find these folders under following path:
Current Machine's Extension Manager CS6 folder: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6, under this path you should remove "EM Store", "Mxi Flag" and "Configuration" folder.
Current user's Extension Manager CS6 folder:  C:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6, under this path you should remove "EM Store", "Mxi Flag" and "Configuration" folder.
For the 'AppData' is a hidden folder, you could follow this guider (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/show-hidden-files-in-windows-7/) to unhidden it

  • Running Firefox 4.0 on Windows 7 crashes when opening - no solutions to date work and I cannot uninstall it.

I've tried going through all the solutions I can find including trying unlock my profile (parent.lock), or create a new profile (profile manager crashes too), opening it in safe mode (it won't - still crashes), running it as administrator (also crashes) and I cannot uninstall it (that crashes too). The Crash Reporter/Manager also crashes and locks up so I cannot submit this issue. I'm at a loss.

Hit CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up Windows Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and look for '''firefox.exe''' If you find it, right click it and choose Kill Process.
What I suggest next is to perform a clean installation as follows:
    * Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0] and download a fresh installation file to the desktop. In this particular case, I'd recommend downloading the file with either IE8 or 9. Choose to save the file to your desktop when you see the prompt.
    * Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
    * Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    * Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., will be retained in a separate folder and will become available again once the reinstallation completes.
If you prefer to go back to the previous secure version which is 3.6.16, use this link instead: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.16] Otherwise the procedure is the same.

I cannot install Creative Suite 5.5 on my Windows 7 Professional. I keep getting error message: "Exit Code: 15 - Media DB sync failed". I have disabled UAC and Startup items and Services with no luck. Can you please help?

I am sorry Erickkasner but there is no longer direct support provided for Creative Suite 5.5 installation issues.
You are welcome to post any specific errors you are able to discover within your installation log to this discussion.  Since you are using Windows then Exit Code 15 could mean one of the following:
    Installer database is corrupted
Update pending to your operating system
Improper permissions set for the Media.db
The installation log file should provide additional insight into the exact error you are experiencing.  Please make sure to use the find command to look for the words 'ERROR' and 'FATAL' to locate the relevant error messages.
