Cannot unlock FileVault2 drive when on Recovery Mode

Hi there!
I have a MacBook Pro 2009 with a Portuguese (Portugal) keyboard. I have my account set with this keyboard correctly. But when I try to unlock my FileVault2 partition on the Disk Utility application in Recovery Mode on MAC OS X Lion, I cannot correctly enter my password because there is no way I can change the default keyboard mapping.
I click on the US flag that came by default to change it to Portuguese, but cannot enter the password correctly, because it has not often used characters like "€$%&/!" etc.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much.
Best Regards,
Marcus.

i cannot get my phone out of recovery mode, when I tried to restore on itune it gives me error 1608. please help me

While YOU may not have attempted to jailbreak the phone, SOMEONE ELSE did.  Error 1015 occurs by attempting to restore a previously jailbroken phone.
It's very likely you may NEVER get your phone out of recovery mode and your phone may be rendered permanently bricked.
Terms of Use of this forum prohibit the discussion of jailbroken phones.  You'll have to scour the internet for a solution to your problem, if indeed one exists.

What happens when you connect to computer and restore via iTunes?
    Without knowing that:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod touch 5 will not turn on, charge, is not recognized by computer or iTunes, will only be recognized when in recovery mode but then an error 1601 occurs and iPod then goes back to being dead and nothing happens

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

  • Updating iPhone went wrong. Is it possible to remove data before restoring when in recovery mode?

My mum was updating her iPhone and she either unpluged the phone to soon or there was a problem with the update. Now the phone will not turn off and the screan is telling me to plug the phone back to iTunes. When I do so there is a pop up telling me i have to restore the phone and will lose all the data on the phone. If any one can help me save this data before I restore the phone i would be very greatful.

When the phone demands a recovery, you'll have to do that. Try to connect in recovery mode, with a little luck the phone will be able to backup before restoring, in case the firmware is not completely damaged.
Recovery mode is explained here: iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore

  • Ipod touch 2g keeps restarting when in recovery mode

The other day my ipod started restarting on it's own while I was using it. To try and fix this I restored it to it's original settings. When I plugged it into my laptop (windows 7) itunes recognized the ipod as in recovery mode. When I tried to restore the ipod in itunes, the screen of the ipod went from the usb and itunes logo to a glitchy screen (it was shutting off and restarting, thus losing connection with the laptop) and then back to the usb screen. Ultimately, I got a 1611 error. I've tried all the suggestions for the 1611 error online (using a different computer, change usb port, put in dfl mode, etc.) but no matter what I do, my ipod keeps restarting when it's restoring. Help!

Error 1611: This error may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Alsoattempt to restore while connected with a known-good 30-pin Dock Connector cable, computer, and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value (00 499901 064000 0) can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured proxy or security software, such as FoxyProxy, can cause error 1611. To troubleshoot third-party security software, follow these steps.
    If you tried everthing above
    (from:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1611)
Then you appear to have a hardware problem.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to confirm.

  • IMac9,1 Fusion Drive - booting in recovery mode

    Hi,
after installing a Fusion Drive on my iMac early 2009 3.06Ghz with ML 10.8.2, i'm not able to boot into recovery mode by hold cmd+R.
The temporary solution is press cmd+R just after resetting the NVRAM with cmd+option+P+R.
This operation must be repeated each time i want to go into the recovery.
I don't know if this is a bug of my iMac.

Yes, i made a "Fusion Drive" by joining my SSD 256GB + HHD 1TB. I follows one of some guides presents on the web. The system works well apart that i'm not able to reboot in recovery mode on startup with cmd+R.
At the end the "Fusion Drive" is only two core storage volume fused togheter nothing of new.
For the new mac mini this software technology is already available to the public and my fusion drive works like mac mini's "Fusion Drive" (read this: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2012/11/fusion-drive-quick-look-our-predictions-con firmed/)

I'm stock to the recovery mode because I try to update to IOS 7 and a error code 1667 showed during my update. So, I dont know what to do without losing all my data on the phone

If the phone is in recovery mode, the data is already lost. See this support document for assistance with restore error codes http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 although I do not see one for error 1667.
