Cannot update Audition:CC Desktop Broken ...

This is so frustrating ...
After restarting my Mac the CC Desktop icon located in the desktop Toolbar is no longer visible. According to the Activity Monitor it is running. I went ahead and forced quit and relaunced it. No change. I attempted to uninstall-reinstall. No luck. Can't get it to where it is accessible.
And for some reason the manual Download link for Audition on the CC website is DOA in both Safari and Firefox.
Any idea as to what is going on?

Yeah. Actually this support session was via live chat. It was pretty extended and took over an hour. The adobe tech was helpful. OTOH they failed to pinpoint the source of the original problem. Like I said - I made no changes to the system prior to rebooting.
With this secondary admin account work-around - I need to log off my default admin user account and login to new account in order to manage my apps. It works - but it's not something that I'm thrilled about.
Lastly I was able to remove CC Desktop using the adobe CC Cleaner Tool. When I try to reinstall it - the installer just hangs. Very frustrating.

    Since Thursday, I have not been successful in updating iCal on my Macbook Pro.  When I make changes to iCal on my Macbook, iCal starts the updating process but never finishes.  New entries continue to have a check mark next to them (showing that they haven't been updated to the server).  I have an iPad and iPhone and cannot sync my calendars between the 3 devices.  However, I can successfully log in to MobileMe and access my iCal file this way and have been able to update it.  This method has enabled me to sync my iPhone and iPad.  Why should I be having problems only with the desktop calendar?   I have not yet upgraded to iCloud and am still using MobileMe sync.
    I am using the newest version of Lion.

    Emily...I do not have a fix but there seems to be a pervasive problem with iCal sync (whether MobileMe or iCloud) once the MacBook Pro is upgraded to Lion. There are at least five threads about this dating back to 10/14/11. No one has had a solution. I have an appt to speak to Apple Support tomorrow morning. Keep your fingers crossed.

    The "Get Help" leads me to adobe forums with other people having this problem with no solutions other than 'Chat with an expert' which I've been trying to find on this site. I don't need tutorials, I've quit the CC desktop app several times, restarted the computer several times, the Preferences option under CC desktop is greyed out and can't access.
    I can't update any other adobe product until this nuisance of a CC Desktop can get updated.
    Any ideas? Untinstall and reinstall? If I uninstall the CC desktop will it magically break some mystical link with all my other CC 2014 programs?

    Thanks for the link, Jeff. Even though error code 204 wasn't listed, everything around points to the download being corrupted/stalled/stopped. Was talking with an IT guy here and are exploring our firewall settings and securities. From your link I found the document "Creative Cloud for enterprise - Network Endpoints file" and have forwarded it to our IT dept to review.

    While I have tried using the Software Update to upgrade from 10.4.6 to 10.4.8 (and now there is 10.4.9) ... I have had no luck. It will NOT install. It downloads and begins installation and then a RED exclamation point appears.
    I have just tried updating using the 10.4.8 COMBO package from HEADGAP. The installation began and then a message appeared saying that "Errors during installation," and it did not complete the process.
    Now, my Disk Utility and any of my System Preferences (like the Date and Time) cannot be changed.
    Also, the latest JAVA update from Software Update will NOT install. The message says that the signature is "out of date."
    HELP, please?

    If you have a friend with a Mac that has Firewire, set your machine in target mode (holdiing down "T" key on startup), and then connect to your friends machine. Download, or pass him the combo updater. Now, run Disk Utility, and Disk Warrior on your machine, from his machine.
    As Allan says, make certain you have enough room.

    my blackberry desktop software cannot update and load an os to the phone. i have error 507 which means there is no os on my phone as i read somewhere. but the problem is.... i have tried all the intruction on the solution on error507 but to no avail. the device software alwas says " "There is no  BlackBerry® Software available." with Cancel, Update and Retry option. If I choose to Update the software it will say that no software is available... i even tried downloading the os6 for my fone and used the loader but it gets stuck at the last process with the same message "There is no  BlackBerry® Software available.

    Please check carefully these instructions, most importantly the part about deleting VENDOR.XML file(s).
    1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    Since a windows update when I switch on I get a temporary desktop, cannot access my personal desktop unless I do a restore to an earlier date.  Tells me I cannot access my files and to log off and on again, no use.  Do get the message temporary desktop see your administrator etc.  Any help PLEASE.

    You could try the following.
    Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter.  If windows will load in this mode, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore.  Pick a restore point at least 24 hours before the log-on issue and then proceed with the restore process.  When complete, Windows will reboot as normal so check if you can now log in correctly.
    Another option if the above does not help is as follows.
    Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select 'Start Using Last Known Good Configuration' and hit enter.

  • Mac App Store cannot update itunes, OS and remote desktop; keep saying it is updated and yet ask it ask you to update as in fact it is not updated

    I search my problem on web and got no solution.
    1) mac app store shows some updates needed. e.g. itunes, remote desktop.
    2) I clicked "update", and it changes to "installed" within seconds and then shows I have installed the update.
    3) But the problem is that the software is NOT updated and the "installed icon" changes back to "update" immediately.
    4) the picture below shows what happened.
    5) As you can see, the remote desktop is updated twice on Mar 3 and is version 3.8.2 v1.1 but the mac app store prompt me to update it.
    6) I cannot update the new version of MAC OS too.
    Solution:
    1) Restart app or OS. >> Failed.
    2) Rebuild spotlight >> Failed.
    3) Genius bar >> No hope as the Genius bar is fully booked all the time (rumors that people are selling the timeslots, guess where am I?).
    Can any one help me on that.

    You can forcer quit the application
    >Force quit
    This would be preferred.  If you have to force quit the the entire OS- press the power button for a extended period until it forces a immediate shut down.

    With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail. Copy the Mail folder and place the copy on the Desktop for backup purposes.
    Go to Home > Library > Mail > Envelope Index. Move the Envelope Index file to the Desktop.
    Launch Mail and you will be prompted to import mailboxes. Select OK and allow the import process to complete.
    After confirming all mailboxes were successfully imported and available, you can delete the copy of the Mail folder and old Envelope Index file from the Desktop and this should resolve the problem.

    I am using the Creative Cloud Student edition on Windows 8.1. Right now I have some problems with Illustrator and the Desktop App itself, however I absolutely need it to work right now for University. I try to explain the problem as clear as I can, I hope you can help me!
    First, the problem I have with Illustrator: I installed the newest version (CC2014) a couple of weeks ago. It all worked fine at first. After some time, when opening the application, I got a message saying it can't be opened and that I should go to the .exe file and operate it as Administrator. When I clicked okay, Illustrator opened without me doing what I was told.. This kept going on for a couple of days until now. I cannot open it anymore, a message appears saying: The localized source files for this application could not be loaded. Fix this application or reinstall. Then try again. .The problem is, I cannot fix or reinstall the application, I can't even uninstall it (It says there were problems and not everything was uninstalled..) Now I don't know what to do?
    Second, I cannot update my creative cloud desktop app. It says: Creative Cloud desktop could not be updated. Error Code: 50. I have searched for that error code, but could not find any explanation.

    If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

    Have 26 Gb of space left and found the fix to delete the Envelope Index file. I moved Envelope Index to the DT and relaunched MAIL. It seemed to import 1200 items, then it just goes to colored wheel of death. Had to Force Quit 3x.

    Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
    Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
    Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
    Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
