Cannot update blackberry world

It is very frustrating. I want to update my Blackberry for the various apps and when asked for my username and password, I key them in and then I'm asked for the username associates with the smartphone which is my email I put my email but it is not recognized never ever ever. I can't use the apps because I can't download them and I don't understand why this wretched thing is not working. I went to my account and my username is my email but still they ask me for the username like I've entered something wrong.
Please fix this because I am at the last drop of my patience

Sure if you're having problem then Contact Vodafone , they can do it for you

  • Cannot open BlackBerry World

I have a weird problem with the App World. I can't open it, only a black screen appears but nothing happens. I have already tried to reboot the phone. It didn't help. I took out the battery and started again, no change either. I found some old error post on various forums, and there seemed to be the resolution to open the Music app and on the three dots on the bottom click on Blackberry World but I didn't have the option to click on Blackberry World. I opened a browser window and entered :appworld://parentalcontrols  but again I was only brought to the black screen of the App World and nothing worked. I tried to click on an app and click on search for new updates, only got the black screen. I checked if I have the newest Blackberry Software and I do. It's been like this for weeks and a couple of apps are no longer working properly because I need to update them but I can't without access to the App World. No idea what else I can do! Please help!!!

    Hey icejazz,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
What BlackBerry smartphone are you currently using?  When was the last time you could access Payment Options?  Have you tried re-installing BlackBerry World by going to www.blackberry.com/appworld/download
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Cannot access Blackberry World

I have been accessing blackberry world via the games option  but that is now no longer wirking can anyone help, PLEASE.

Simply uninstall it, restart your device, re-install it from your browser (www.blackberry.com/appworld/) and restart again. It should run as normal when you launch it.
But before you do that, try switching off your mobile network and launch the app using a WiFi network. If this works, then there's a problem in your connection settings.
Make sure to also check application permissions to confirm the app is authorised to connect to the network. Do this by going to settings > security & privacy > application permissions.
Else, check your service books or get help from your service provider if you still can't connect.

  • Cannot update blackberry app world. It shows some weird error.

Here is the story. I was using os7 and and 2 days back I upgraded it to 7.1. As usual after upgrading the os, I updated pre installed apps. Like Facebook and bbm and did a re start. After re staring I found that there is no Facebook and bbm icon. I went to app world and searched for it. At the bbm screen there was no button, no re install, delete or anything. On facebook page there was a re install button through which I re installed it and again did a re boot. But again the same thing. So I though of re installing the firmware. I wiped the device via bbsak and installed the firmware via loader.exe (later I also tried with blackberry desktop manager). Now after upgrading when I went to update my app world, it re directed me to browser where I clicked download and then an error came up. I have attached a pic. Now I am unable to upgrade my blackberry app world. I tried several things like removing app world and again trying to Download it from browser, re installing firmware, downgrading and then again upgrading to 7.1 but all in vain. Please help, as I don't have any clue what's wrong and what to do. <br />
    P. S: It's my first blackberry, and I bought it unlocked 5 days back. And I don't use BIS. I tried downloading app world via WiFi and via mobile data.<br />
    <br />
Here is the error shown<br />
    <br />
Error: Invalid manifest or application descriptor. <br />

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    Please try this sequence:
    1) Remove both AppWorld AND the Identity App from your BB
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
If it requests that you reboot the BB, do so
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
    3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld (during which a fresh version of the Identity App should also install)
    http://blackberry.com/appworld/download
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
    5) See if it now works.
    Cheers!

  • Cannot Update Blackberry Device

    Hi,
I have Blackberry 8520, the device software version is 4.6.1.314. I have tried update to v5.0. cannot do it, everytime it says my software is up to date. Well the Device software is not.
Can anyone help with this problem.
    Regards,
    Akar Parekh

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Well, since you didn't reveal the method of updating that you are using (there are several), I'm going to guess that you ran the desktop software and had it check for updates. That sometimes works, and sometimes not. The best method, IMHO, is to use this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
While it's written for a "reload" of your OS, it works the same for upgrading or downgrading as well. If you choose to use an OS package that is not for your home carrier, then insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML.
    Good luck!

  • Cannot make BlackBerry world payment

"This purchase cannot be completed.  Please select a different payment method"
That's what it said. Been like this for months.
I saw from another post that someone had similar issue. He called his telco. However, I don't have such luxury as nobody here carry BlackBerry anymore and I got my device from abroad. I've searched everywhere and I cannot find any way to reach BlackBerry to fix this.
    What can I do????

    THIS. IS. RESOLVED.
I called my carrier (T-Mobile) who opened a ticket with Blackberry official support.  The Level 1 technicians were unable to resolve the problem, and escalated to Blackberry Level 2.  I had to provide them with quite a bit of information, Account #, last 4 digits of CC, billing address, etc, but after some time ( a few days) the Level 2 technicians were able discover the problem and "unblock" my account. Boo-yah! I was told that BB World had auto-blocked my account in an attempt to prevent fraud (although the reason BB World suspected fraud was unclear). Regardless, they unblocked it and I can successfully make payments and purchase apps via BB World again.
For anyone else who has this issue, you must open a ticket with official Blackberry Support. This is not a problem with your credit card or software version.  It occurs somewhere in the depths of blackberry's internal systems and cannot be resolved by anybody but official Blackberry support.
No thanks for all the non-help from the so-called community "support team" who have staunchly refused to acknowledge the problem or even attempt to offer a single solution.
I hope this resolution helps others.

  • Cannot update BlackBerry 8220

    Hi everyone,
I never post a message there 'cause I've found always a good answers for my questions.
But today something is going wrong with a colleague's Blackberry 8220.
    just for a refresh, I did :
    - installed  -- 8220M_PBr4.6.0_rel318_PL4.1.0.61_A4.6.0.180_Bouygues.exe -- (I'm in France) in the pc, just before to click on finish I've deleted vendor.xml file, and then started Desktop Manager.
    - So, when I plug-in the BlackBerry no updates are available, even if the version actually installed in the BlackBerry is older than the update.
Why I need to change the OS? Because even if I've wiped sveral times and did the bes activation again and again, the BlackBerry still reboot suddenly when you're using it or when I close the flip it ask me the SIMcard PINcode again.
Does someone has a tip to give me to sort me out from that blackhole?
    Thanks in advance

You still haven't answered my question:
"What OS release is on the device right now? OPtions > About?"
If you want to install the same release on a device with the same release:
You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:

This is a user-to-user community support forum, as you would have noticed on the welcome email and registration. We are not your official support channel (call your mobile network provider, Verizon -- by contract to you and to RIM, they provide all hardware and software warranty and technical support).
We are not paid RIM employees, just users like you who like to help others. Let me ask, when you walk in to a friends home for dinner, do you complain about the food and say you're going else where for dinner?

Yesterday tried to update blackberry world and the installation is frozen/stuck
I can't update or download any application in BlackBerry world ! I also tried to reset from settings but nothing happened.
    I'm using 10.2.1.537
    Any ideas ?
    Thank you

are you able to cancle it or is this while restarting the computer ?
it might come up as having troubles vaildating the packages and you'll just have to reinstall them.
how long have you been waiting?
is your computer's connection to the internet good or on and responsive?

Given that thousands (millions?) of others don't have this issue, I would say it is not the upgrade version that is the cause of your issue.
Please try this. With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!
If not, what is your OS level please?
Article ID: KB23393 How to check the model number and version of the operating system on a BlackBerry smartphone
Please note carefully...I want to know your OS version, not your Software Release version. If your OS is old, then you might want to look into updating it. You also might want to look at a complete device WIPE to see if that fixes things. Otherwise, contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Have been kicked out BlackBerry World

Hello, I'm **bleep** off because I bought every BlackBerry since my first one and since October last year I got a Passport.Since a week BlackBerry World wasn't working, so I tought maybe it's something wrong. Different IP, Reinstallation, Different OS version, it doesn't matter.I have been kicked out BlackBerry World, cannot even open the app get a black screen with the menu button in the left right corner and thats it! Nothing else works, fresh OS installation 10.3.2 and a total wipe after it did not solve the issue. I'm absolutely **bleep** off because of this, with fresh install I cannot use my phone at all.Cannot access BlackBerry World, download my apps or do anything with my phone at all! I even PAY for my custom pin and now you people are kicking me out BBW? Thats INSANE! I want my BBW back or ALL my money for custom IP.  If I dont get my BBW back I will just get any other brand and I will never get BlackBerry again, and yes even BES12 will be taken away.   P.S. Your twitter support is USELESS those people don't even understand ENGLISH

    1.
Restart: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, press and hold the upper edge power button about 20-30 seconds, ignore the 3-2-1 timer and hold until the screen goes black and you see the red LED.
    and/or
Reboot: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, using the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot. 2. Did you contact your service provider to open a case? Seems BlackBerry Twitter help understood you completely well. Have you done as they suggested?

  • App error 603 after updating Blackberry messenger

     Hi
I updated Blackberry World and Blackberry Messenger simultaneously. After rebooting, the phone goes on, does 'software security verification' then shows me a white screen that says 'App error 603' Reset'.
I got it to work once (I don't know how) and then I couldn't get into Blackberry messenger - I tried deleting it, but the phone wouldn't give me the option. Now it just constantly goes to the white screen.
Anyone know what I could try?
    Thanks!

OK...unfortunately, nothing about that addresses what the article linked above provides guidance for. So, let me ask the question simpler...have you clicked on, read, and tried what the article linked above provides?
If not, then please do so. If yes, then please provide specific results from what you tried that you found in the article.

  • Blackberry World thinks I need to update Apps that are already up-to-date. (Infinite Update Loop)

    Hello,
I have been having trouble with Blackberry World.  It states that I have apps that need updating, but I already have the most recent update of these apps.  In addition, BBW states that I need updates for apps that I no longer have installed on my phone. (and I cant seem to uninstall these apps via BBW)
I have tried installing the update (even if its not needed), and uninstalling/re-installing the apps, and nothing eliminates this problem.  "Refresh BlackBerry World" does not help either.
for an example: I have 9 apps that BBW thinks I need to update.  One of which is Blackberry Blend. When I click on Blend, It states that the Update is available to Version 1.1.0.67, but directly underneath, it states that I have Installed Version 1.1.0.67 !!!  If I choose to perform the update, the notice for updating Blend shows back up in BBW immediatley.   The same issue is occuring with a number of apps, including: Google Talk, Skype, etc..
Any suggestions on how to stop this BBW App Update Infinite Loop?

Hi,  I've tried clearing the cache multiple times.  With or without reboot, it doesn't seem to fix the problem.
I should probably mention that this is on a Z10 STL100-3  OS release 10.3.1.1865 OS version 10.3.1.2708.  This problem was occuring with only Skype before the upgrade from 10.2, but since the update its with 9 other Apps as well.  I even completely wiped my phone, and only selectively restored a handful of apps to prevent the issue, but thats when BBW now displays required updates for Apps I no longer have installed on the phones since starting from scratch.
    any other suggestions?

  • I cannot download Facebook and I don't have a blackberry world icon

I have just purchased a secondhand blackberry curve 8310 from ebay and I cannot download Facebook and I don't have a blackberry world icon on the home page. When I try to download facebook it says my device does not support this function. I have tried removing the battery while the phone is still on and registering via advanced options - host routing table, but no joy. Any suggestions?

    Hey sambrook,
    Welcome to the forums.
Here are the system requirements for Facebook for BlackBerry.
To use Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones, the following is required:
A wireless service data plan that supports SN applications
    Wi-Fi connectivity
A Facebook account (an account can be created from the app)
2.7 MB of available application memory
BlackBerry® Device Software v5.0 or later
If you are using a BlackBerry curve 8310 as listed in your profile then you most likely are not running Device Software version 5.0 or higher.
From your BlackBerry browser try to download Facebook by going to www.BlackBerry.com/Facebook and choose the options that says you do not have App World access.
Let us know how you make out.
