Cannot update My itunes on my Macbook Pro.
I Have gotten a new Ipod Touch for my birthday, and I have already set it up to my iTunes account. But when I went to sycn it is said that itunes needed to be upgraded to 10.6 or later. I went to sowftware update, and in upgraded everthing BUT itunes, and now evertime i go to look for the itunes updates it says that they are none, and kicks me out of software updates. So i tried to downloaded the lastest version at the apple store, but when i cicked download, it just went stright to the," thank you for downloading page", and nothiung happend. I am at a lost and would really like some help!!!!!!!

Cannot update Flash Player 16 to MacBook Pro 10.8
I have all of the prerequisites for updating Adobe Flash Player 16 onto my MacBook Pro 10.8.5. After WEEKS of trying every so-called "solution" I could find, I am still unable to complete the update. I have now solved the sign-in problem, I can "initialize" the process, I can locate the Installer in my Downloads folder, I respond "yes" to the download, I type in my password when prompted in the box about "wanting changes", then click "ok", but I can get no further: the box simply jiggles back and forth. Every "help" prompt sends me back through the same series of "solutions" I have tried again and again. I am not the most sophisticated computer-user, but I can follow clear instructions. I really do not respect a company which does not have a way for a customer to directly contact them when he/she has reached a deadend over and over. This problem is not just about my installing Adobe; I cannot use Weightwatchers, Instagram, You tube, and several other web functions without the update. Please help!
It sounds like the password you're entering is being rejected.

Cannot Connect to iTunes Store on Macbook Pro
After recently updating to iTunes 11, I have become unable to connect to the iTunes store. I have tried everything in the FAQ suggestions thus far but, I am still unable to get it to connect.
A couple of things to note:
1. My iPhone 4 and iPad 2 on the same internet connection can connect to the iTunes store, which should rule out any ISP issues.
2. The computer in question is a mid 2010 Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.2.
3. The same computer can connect to the App Store and make purchases without any issues. Prior to the update I had no issues with the iTunes store.
4. I tried Keychain First Aid, it found no error.
5. I tired Permissions First Aid, also no errors.
6. I reset the network settings numerous times and I am running it in the administrator's account.
Pretty much exhausted everything I could think of and I very much want to download some purchases I made on my iPad to my computer.Restart the router. Wait until all the lights are lit up properly.

When I purchase music through iTunes from my MacBook Pro, my iPhone 4 iTunes app cannot detect those purchase to allow them to download to my phone. If I open up the iTunes app and select "purchased > music > not on this iphone" it tells me "All of your available music has been downloaded to this device." However, my purchases are not yet downloaded to the iphone and not available to download. If I go to "purchased > music > all > recent purchases" it will show me the purchases that were most recent the last time I synced my phone, but not the purchases since then.
Any thoughts on how I can remedy this and make all of my purchased music available on my phone without requiring syncing?

Fortunately, AirPlay does not cost anything as it is a streaming protocol used by Apple. Currently, the AirPort Express and Apple TV are AirPlay-ready. A number of other companies, like JBL, iHome, Denon and Klipsch are also rumored to be working on AirPlay versions of their products.
Your other option would be to get an AirPort Express and connect it to your Onkyo analog or optical digital audio input and stream from iTunes that way. I currently do this with my 10+ year old Harmon Kardon HT receiver. -
I am updating the OS on my MacBook Pro from 10.5.8. I have installed 10.6.8 and the 10.6.8 combo v1.1. I cannot open my older version of Preview and do not appear to have a newer version which i thought would be on the Snow Leopard dvd. How can I get the correct version of Preview and is it advisable to upgrade to OS7 andOS8?
It is always installed with whatever new version of OS X is installed or appropriate updates. Since you plan to go forward your choice depends on your model. I would urge you to perform a clean install instead of continuing the upgrade path which may interject incompatibilities.
Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.

To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Yosemite, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Before attempting a clean install you want to first download the appropriate installer application from the App Store. It will download into your Applications folder. You need to make a copy of it in your Downloads folder so you can make a bootable USB flash drive:

After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.

I updated by iPhone to iOS 7.0.2. My phone won't sync with my iTunes because I need to have 11.1. I can't get the new iTunes because my MacBook Pro is only 10.5.8. Any suggestions on how to get this done? I need my calendars to sync. The MacBook pro doesn't have iCloud, so I can't sync that way.

I've updated all my software and Itunes on my Macbook Pro but when I went to open iTunes it tells me it's either corrupted or not installed correctly and to reinstall it. Is there anyway to fix it without reinstalling the whole program?

Seriously? Is there not any way to view and read DRM-protected books downloaded on iTunes on my MacBook Pro? I cannot believe that there is not any way around this! I seem to constantly get confounded by what seems to be the most amazingly unbelievable conundrums with Apple despite having been a champion of the company for years and years. This relates to tethering on iPhone, external Apple hard drives only being usable with MacBook Air, and now this! If anyone is aware of a hack or way around this I would appreciate some guidance. I try to update the software of an Iphone or Ipad with the Itunes of the MacBook Pro. It downloads the software but at the end always the comment shows up that the download failed and i should try again. Any ideas, I already updated the iTunes software.

Have a Macbook Pro and a 4th gen iPod Touch. Downloaded and install iOS 4.3.2 yesterday. Upgrade went without a hitch, but now iTunes on My Macbook Pro will not open. Either use the Apple ID you used when you originally purchased the applications or you will have to purchase them using your Apple ID. If you did not have the other Apple ID, then you have the applications illegally or they were improperly included with a computer you purchased from someone else.

I had my iPod synced with iTunes on my iBook (OS 10.4.11) and then the iBook crashed and I had to replace it with a MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.8). I want to transfer all of the stuff on my iPod to my iPhone 4S through the MacBook Pro. But, I do not want to upgrade the iPod iOS (4.1) because my wife will use it with her iMac (OS 10.4.11). She has no interest in upgrding the iMac OS to support iOS 5. Can I sync the iPod with iTunes on the MacBooK Pro without upgrading the iOS from 4.1 to 5.? This will let me go back to the iMac and sync the iPod with it. I only need to do this once to offload everything on the iPod to the MacBook Pro and then to the iPhone. I'm very reluctant to try this for fear of ending up with an iPod that won't sync with the iMac. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The pics and music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. The ipod is not a backup device.
Cop everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
I rented a movie using iTunes on my MacBook Pro, but it won't move to my first Generation Apple TV
I justed downloaded a Rented Movie from iTunes on my MacBook Pro. I did it through United Airlines e-miles to get credits. Now, when I try to move it from the Rented Movies to the On "Apple TV" box on my Apple TV box, it stays in it for no longer than 35 seconds after I click on Apply and then moves back to the "Rented Movies" box. The only thing that appears in the Apple Symbol progress box is Syncing "Apple TV" is "Copying 2 of 2: IMG_0318" and them it moves back to the "Rented Movies Box. The same message appears if I click on Sync with it still in the "Rented Movies" box.
How can I overcome this problem? I have 29 days and 23 houors to solve this problem, but would like to do it for watching NLT Monday, 21 May 2012, evening!Mr. Churchill - First, to answer your last questions:

No the Apple TV has 127.5 GBs of its 144.63 GBs free.
Second, I tried turning the Time Capsule WiFi rounter and Apple TV off (for at least two or three minutes, not the usual 10 seconds recommended) and I still could not move the movie.
Third, I severed the link and set it up again re-synced all 5,103 items back and still when I move the movies to the Apple TV box and Apply it, after 35 seconds it stops the sync and moves it back the the Rented Movies box.
Though I have set my Apple TV to sync with my MacBook Pro I cannot find a way to connect it to other than shared library, but not the "not shared library" (Is this what the Rented Movies are?). Is what Fletch is talking about int the "Rental Movies not showing up on Apple TV" discussion my problem and a solution?

there are three possibilities: you have not upgraded to version 2.0 or in Summary on the ATV device in iTunes, you should look whether you have it set up to only sync or otherwise disables movie syncing, or you have not paired your Mac to the ATV (on your tv, settings/computers/connect to itunes library - not shared library)

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Pro and now when I open iTunes I can not access the iTunes store; however, I can access the Apps store. I have tried reinstalling iTunes. I have tried changing the pop up/cookie settings in Firefox and Safari. I have logged out and also shut down my MacBook. I have tried changing the Firewall settings on my MacBook. I have googled possible ways to get the iTunes store to work and nothing has helped so far. Please help.
