Cannot update quicktime to allow newest iTunes after reinstalling MAC OS X
My 2008 MacBook Pro was bogging down constasntly...I also had only ~25GB left on my 200GB HD (??), so I backed up the whole thing on an external HD with time maching and reinstalled MAS OS X with the original install disc.
After this was successfully accomplished, I accepted the option to re-input all my previous data via the time machind (bad idea?). Anyhow, after innumerable uypdates of myriad software, I tried to open iTunes to update my iPhone4 to the iOS5. iTunes will not open because I get a prompt that says iTunes 10 (the version I was running) needs QuickTime version 6.5.5 or later to run. So I check the QT version and it's the old 2008 version--but all software updates are complete and it will not update to QT7. I've tried everything I can think of, so I'm once again wiping my HD and starting over. Only this time I intend NOT to reinstall all my old stuff from the time machine till I get all the software updated.
Anyone have an explanation why QT would not update? I'm running MAS OS X Leopard 10.5.8 after the reinstall disc is complete. Does the OS X have to bw some version newer to get QT 7? Help!
You really need a bigger drve or far more free space, they don't tell you such, but OSX would relly like 50% free space, but 25% or 100GB will bealmost as good, whichever is greater.

Assuming you have Rosetta installed that allows you to run PPC Apps...
How much free space is on the HD, where has all the space gone?

Hi, cant update IO6. After downloading the update and processing it through Itunes on my mac.... and I have a factory unlocked Iphone 4S. Cant update the software. Waring message is say this devise is not eligible for build. Please help.
Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it can't sync that device.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.
Some device models require Mac OS X 10.7.5 to sync.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Safari quits unexpectedly after reinstall Mac OS X 10.7
Hello, I reinstalled Mac OS X 10.7.5 because i need downgrade Safarai from version 6.1 to version 6.05. But after reinstalling Mac OS X 10.7. Safari quits unexpectedly immediately after open app. I tryed make all updates but it doesn't help. Interesting is that Software Update doesn't show any update of Safari. It Look like the system have still installed the newest version of Sarafi. Bellow is crash report if someone can help me.

If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.

After reinstalling MAC OS 10.6.8, I config the permissions to read/write/no access, my MacMini [mid 2010] refuses to reboot. I tried to reboot in safe mode with Command+S and fsck, but after the steps to be taken, it says fscs not done, root device is read only. I also tried to bypass the Mac firmware password by taking one Ram card out and reboot the macmini while holding COMMAND+OPTION+P+R. But no luck. The macmini is not able to see the mac OSX installation CD.

How and where did you change which permissions? And what was the goal?
Do you have a complete backup of your system? and more importantly data files?
What happened that prompted the need to reinstall the 10.6.8 update?
The immediate road forward would be to boot from the optical drive and revert the changes you made.
What happens when you boot with the install cd and hold down C or hold down the option key?

Can you update iPhone5 apps via newest iTunes?
Hi,
I have a ton of apps that need updating on my iPhone 5 (latest iOS) except I don't want to use my phone's data and my phone never seems to want to connect to any wifi despite it being available.
Is there a way I can update my phone apps via iTunes? (All latest versions). I connected my phone and checked the applications tab and can see all my apps but the only real options shown are just to install or remove etc, I've been staring at the page for a while and can't for the life of me see any way to check an app to update it, is it possible?
Thank you~iTunes provides an automatic update option for apps in the iTunes Library. The device is not required for this. But if the apps were never downloaded to iTunes, then you would need to upgrade them from the iTunes Store. As for iTunes itself all you can otherwise do is Install an app from the library or Remove an app from you device.
iTunes will, during a sync, transfer apps from the device to the library if they were newly purchased on the device. Apps updated by iTunes will transfer to the device unless you have opted to have it Removed. -
How do I restore iTunes after a Mac crash (and Apple ID change)?

Can anyone please help me with some advice about how to restore my iTunes purchases after my Mac crashed. Its a bit more complicated than it sounds given that I changed my Apple ID about 18months before the crash. All purchases under the current Appled ID have been restored. However, everything that I bought under my first Apple ID has not been restored. How can i get this fixed?

My IPOD Touch isn't recognized by ITUNES after the OS got reinstalled. I hook it up and ITunes doesn't respond, it's like it isn't even connected.
I've restarted both devices (nothing), I've tried both USB ports (they're fine), nothing. Any suggestions?You might need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service. Check out this article:
