Cannot update to ios8 from itunes

My son tried to update my ipad this evening to ios8 but he had the wrong apple id.  Update failed.  Changed id but still did not work.  Then I realised that the ipad had probably not linked to wi fi as it had no charge.  So tried to charge it but ipad just says connect to iTunes. Now don't know what to do. Please help - I need to get all my work back for tomorrow.

What exactly happens when you connect it to your computer running iTunes? You need to explain what it's doing now...

  • TS1538 I have had issues for a week now. Cannot update or purchase from iTunes. Sign in appears then, before I can even input my info it vanishes. App store says I need 24 updates but when I press the icon to do so, it states that my device could not conn

    I have restarted device several times. Have unplugged wireless several times. Have done everything Apple has stated to do on their trouble shooting page. Have called Apple seeking advice. Was told for 35 bucks they can help over the phone or choose the free email. I chose the free method and followed what they suggested! Still nothing. I am incensed that they want 700 dollars for this POS and then want 35 bucks for verbal customer service!! I will never purchase another Apple product again if this does not get resolved. I am so disappointed. Then to be told that "for a fee" I can get verbal help. I was told my product warrantee has expired,  I wonder if it expired as soon as I had issues. I am fed up! Looking for window to throw this out of or place it where an automobile is backing up.  I would like the last week of my life back spent trying to fix this hunk a junk!! Oh, they had no problems before taking my money for songs and apps! Why can't they help fix this issue!!

  • Ipod will not update new songs from itunes

    My ipod will not update new songs from itunes. I've purchased several songs from the music store, updated my playlists and as added some from my CD collection and they are not transfering from my library to my ipod.
    I've tried numerous configurations under the preferences - ipod menue but still can't get them to transfer.
    One error I occasionally get is "ipod cannot be updated because there is not enough free space to hold all of the songs in the itunes music library"
    There is plenty of room on my ipod so I can't figure out why. It almost seems as if it is trying to copy all of my songs not just the new ones because all songs in my librbary are checked.

    Doesn't it have to be on either manual or auto update? What other option is there?
    I will try downloading latest updates.
    I know it will work if I reset it (have done it a few times already). I just hate having to restore factory settings everytime I want to put a new song onthe ipod.

    Temporarily disable ALL of your anitvirus/antispyware software or in your AV software turn off iPod scanning.

    The original iPad does not have the memory and processing power to run more recent version of the iOS. 5.1.1 is the latest it can run.

    there is a great amount of manual burden to go about and update each Device such as an additional iPad, and
    changing the Apple ID for all of the iPad is not but Trivial ...
    It would be a very End-User facility for Apple to provide -- One Consistent mechanism where
         1. Update Apple ID from iTunes --
         2. Consistently propagate the changes across the different Managed Devices and all Apps ...
    Such a Mechanism would of course be well within Apple's Design Philosophy !! Perhap's in the Next Update of iOS ....
