Cannot update to latest version
Certain apps are requiring a later version than I have on my iPad 5.1.1. After connecting to iTunes it tells me that the iPad is up to date. Why can I not update to Version 7?

An iPad 1 can only go up to iOS 5.1.1....

I my macbook pro will not recognize my iphone. you need to upgrade your OSX to 10.6.8 or later to sync with the iPhone 5. as you need itunes 10.7 to run Iphone 5

The install then terminates...

Thanks so much for referring me to this post...it apparently was the exact same probelm as I have...after back & forth posts on it, apparently all that was required for that victim was a reboot...

Be aware that if you want to install the currently latest 6.18.0.106 version, then you should use this msi-installer link in order to extract the Skype.exe and Login.cab files:

Someone please help! Cannot update to 11.1 or higher so cannot sync music off my laptop. Tells me I have to update. I email myself the link and it is just a link back to the help page. Cannot find (on my iPad iTunes page) a help button. What on earth am I doing wrong??

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it can't sync that device.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.
Some device models require Mac OS X 10.7.5 to sync.

My Mac OS X version is 10.6.8. I'd like to download Pages, but my computer cannot support its latest version. As I don't intend to upgrade my computer anytime soon, is it possible to buy an older (and compatible) version of Pages anywhere?

You will probably be able to find the iWork'09 DVD at Amazon or similar online vendor. Install from the DVD and immediately run Software Update to get to the latest version.
The Terms of Use here dictate that we test our suggestions before posting, but obviously I'm not going to try this myself, so there's an element of risk, but it seems your only option. It has worked for users in the past, but you never know how OS upgrades can change such things. If you go this route, please post back with your results.

I cannot install the latest version of iTunes on my laptop (windows xp). I receive a windows installer error. Am not having any problem installing other software or syncing w iPhone. Made the mistake today of uninstalling my older version and not cannot install new. Need new version in order to sync w new iPad.
Any help would be appreciated.Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

My computer runs on Windows 7, and I've installed and updated the latest versions of itunes etc, but still to no avail! I've tried different usb ports, troubleshooting, etc... But it still says "One of the USB decuces arrached to this omputer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it".
The iPod is brand new, sent to me by Apple as part of the 1st gen replacement programme. I've been using the cable that came with the 1st gen iPod (I bought the first gen second hand) It always worked on my computer with the 1st gen iPod. So I was wondering, do you think I need to replace my cable in order for my PC to recognize my iPod or is it something else?

Am using Blackboard to teach classes at college. Have not updated firefox at college, works great. Wife hit yes to update to latest version last week. Now can nan not reply in the discussion board, the curser is not recognized in the dialog box.
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

I updated the latest version of iOS software on my Macbook Pro and now when I try to open up iPhoto it says that I need to update the latest version. When attempting to update to latest version of iTunes on my PC (11.1.4) I received an error message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error as well as: AppleSync Notifier.exe - entry point not found, the procedure entry point sqlite_wal_checkpoint cound not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll.

Ever since updating to latest version of Firefox it has been painfully slow on my Mac running OS 10.5.8.
Websites just hang, and never get to where they are supposed to go. The status loop on tabs just spins and spins but never loads the site. Go to the same site on Safari and there in a second. It is like dial up slow. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips(reset, delete/re-create profiles, uninstall/reinstall, updated flash) nothing works.
