Cannot Update Windows 7 while connected to my WRT54G.

For some reason the computers that are connected via wired or wireless through my WRT54G Vers. #6 (Firmware Version v1.02.8) will not connect for updates (Error Codes: 80072EE2-Win7, 80072EFD-Vista) especially OS, anti-virus, malware updates. This looks like I have some sort of virus, trojan, worm, or what have you, but I have Eset anti-virus software on these systems and there is no detection of anything. I have ran Spybot Seek and Destroy with no sign of spyware. These computer are not sharing files, just connected for internet. Now when I connect them each directly to the internet via cable modem they have no problem updating. All indications point to my router being the suspect, but I have not changed any settings that would have restricted any access or connections. I have Googled this to death. Is there a simple explaination for this problem? Any help is appreciated.

Ok, I'm back to being able to OS update again as well for my anti-virus updates. Some how my router was updated with some Static DNS address. I performed a complete reset of my router for I did not know what else may have been reconfigured without my knowing. Once reset I then reestablished the password for the router and network, then I rebooted my computer. All is working great. I spent a total of 4 hours working this issue with very little help from the cyber space. I hope my pain helps someone.

Software update error while connecting to internet

I have a problem with my 3 computer (all mac) They cannot get sofware update while connecting to the server... it worked last week and now it don't on 3 computer!! It seem that they have a problem on the apple server maybe?... That's the message : A networking error has occurred: timed out (-1001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again. But I CAN connect (with mail, safari etc..) to the internet no problems, I did not touch anything on the network since the last update (friday the 9th dec.) and It's weird that all my 3 computer have the same problem... ??? Will wait t'ill tomorrow, but I Am I alone to have this message??

Update window show "connecting to update server" and will not connect.

Software Update window shows: "Downloading Firefox" and under the blue barber line "Connecting to the Update Server".... this has been going on for several hours and it does not appear to be downloading the update. I have been trying for several weeks with the same problem.

I have already tried re-installing the newest version, and I still get the "update" alert, and the not-connecting.
At the moment, I just close the window and carry on, but it's a bit annoying.

Trying to update to Firefox 3.6.4, - Software Update window says "Connecting to Update Server", but nothing seems to be happening.

The Software Update screen says Connecting to Update Server, "Paused Downloading Firefox 3.6.4". Nothing seems to be happening.

* I have cleared my history.
I'm hoping the upgrade will help with the crashes. How can I get the update?

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Cannot open pages while connected with AEBS ?

I only have a dialup connection through AOL. Finally bought old style AEBS with modem so i could connect with my iBook at home. Seem to have it configured to network with my G5 ok. Got it to connect to AOL, i'm online. My problem is i can't open any pages. I usually use Firefox and it opens fine but after that i can't access any websites, same thing with Safari. Every thing works fine as long as i'm not connected through Airport. Where should i look to remedy this?

If you are seeing an asterisk * when trying to
navigate to webpages, try this;
A fix for this is to change the modem scripts AOL is
using.
Sign Off, but don't quit AOL.
When signed OFF of AOL, but with the Sign-On screen
open, click: SET UP > Expert Set UP.
Click : Add TCP Connection to bring up new
dialog box.
Pull down the menu in Advanced Options - Connection
Scripts:
Change the connection script to TCP (DO NOT
use Airport)
Click Okay and close all windows.

Cannot Update iPod, no connection to internet error

I am getting an error that says:
"iTunes could not contact the iPod software update server because you are not connected to the Internet.
Make sure your Internet connection is active and try again."
Now, I know that my interent connection is working, or else this message would not be posted here. IS there some way around this?

Connect ipod if tunes opens close it LEAVE IPOD HOOKED UP ! control alt delete in processes RIGHT CLICK AND END ipodservice.exe,then open start and click run and put this in "c:\PROGRAM FILES\iPOD\BIN\iPODSERVICE.EXE" /service
Leaving the ipod HOOKED UP NOW REBOOT LEAVE IPOD HOOKED UP may take a few minuets be patient...when rebooting is done itunes should open and recognize your ipod ...This worked for my new 80gig ipod just purchased 2 days ago and pluged in ipod it formatted to windows ok but itunes would not update ...This info is from jeremy in ohio tech support for apple he is good (seems to know what he is talking about ), first 2 tech's i talked to were useless . Now ipod is auto updated very happy auto dnloaded music to new ipod (6,787) songs and all is ok ...This is not a fix for scratchy audio this is making ipod able to read your ipod by shutting off ipod service then rebulding it (restarting ) and worked fine for me ...If not sure go ahead and call tech support on this fix for updating ....Thanks all Good luck..

Cannot Update Windows

Hello,
I have a HP G62 laptop which runs Windows 7, is x64 and was last updated in March this year.
Today, I have tried to run Windows Update - but it has a red cross and gives me the message;
'Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer.'
I have checked in Services and Windows Update and RPC are both running - so I don't know what's going on!
If you could please help me, that would be great!

Control Panel > Windows Update > Change settings, is Windows Update set to install updates automatically?
Run the Windows Update troubleshooter:

From a Command Prompt (Admin) type sfc /scannow and return
Reboot the computer and check for updates in the Control Panel

TS3276 Cannot send email while connected to my Verizon hotspot

I used to be able to send and receive email using mac mail while on my hotspot but recently it has stopped working. I can still receive, it's a bit delayed but comes through but cannot send at all. It works fine on normal wifi but not on my hotspot. GoDaddy is my email host, and I have not changed any settings to cause this to become a problem. Any advice?

It is possible that your friend's ISP is blocking outbound traffic on the port your mail service provider is expecting your outbound email. Another possibility is that your ISP does not accept outbound email from locations not on their network. Both of these are due to efforts by Internet service providers to curb spam.
Contact the ISPs involved (I would suggest your own first) to find out what is happening.

Cannot update Windows 8 on BootCamp

I am operating an 37" iMac i7 3.7 GHz with 16 GB of Ram under OS X 10.10.2. I have BootCamp partition with Windows 8 operating system. Actually, I can allow updates to download and install, but the operating system with then show an error and it takes much time to reverse the process. Therefore, I am running Windows 8 without permitting any of the updates.
I could possibly delete the BootCamp partition and start from scratch, but it will become a chore that I'd rather not tackle at this junction. My update to Windows 8 is legal and has been activated properly.
First, is anyone else with a similar configuration experiencing an identical or similar problem?
Second, does anyone have a viable solution to this issue?

I followed the guide and downloaded the latest version of Boot Camp with Windows 8 support and everything went perfectly.
The problem I have now is that Windows 8 has a lot of updates but they fail everytime. This is the error I get:

Do not turn off your computer
I don't plan on using Windows a lot however, it needs to be updated to protect against security issues. I truly hope someone can help me out as I have searched through many forums and came up empty handed.

IMovie cannot open import window automatically while connecting camcoder

Before I move my iMovie event folder to external drive, it works fine to open import window while connecting camcoder or inserting SD card. But it doesn't work now. I don't know why? It take a lot of effort to find a suitable tool to convert my MTS files. Is there a simple way that iMovie can do import from folder for MTS file?

Yes - This is not the way to do it.
Try to move iMovie Events and iMovie Project folder - Back and iMovie might find it again.
To move Projects and Events - It has to be done Within iMovie and in resp. windows.
Moving them on DeskTop/Finder most often results in catastrophs !

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

I'm having the same issue. Haven't found a workaround. I use a main TimeCapsule as my main router, also have another TimeCapsule that extends the network, three Airport Express and an AppleTV. For whatever reason, the two AirportExpress that I have in a different rooms cut out. I only have 600 square foot apartment so it's not that big, the signal should be strong enough. Airport Utilitiy reports the signal strength to be strong on all devices.
I'm using all new equipment, a new MacPro for my music, new TimeCapsules, new Airport Express, new everything with the latest Yosemite software. Very frustrating. My Airplay used to work very nice and now I'm constantly having issues and restarting my network. I did a fresh install of all my software on my MacPro when I got it in January so it's not as if it's an old machine with old software, everything is new within the last 6 months.
The only workaround I found so far is to unplug the devices and to plug them back in. Since upgrading to Yosemite, I'm restarting my Airport Express at least twice a week. Very annoying.
