Cannot updgrade to Itunes 10.5

My Itunes won't update to 10.5 (or the latest version), so I can't use my Ipod with it, I've tried reinstalling, and the download link the apple site doesn't work, help would be appreciated, thanks

I have seen this before when doing desktop support. I used this Microsoft Utility and it worked great.
First, download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 7.2
Then simply delete itunes using this and poof. you will be able to reinstall it easily.
If this doesn't work, you could following these instructions.

I would try option 1 first though. It works fast and easy. The link is to a third party site because Microsoft doesn't offer the download anymore.

    I'm trying to upgrade to iTunes 7.7. However, during the installation process, I receive this error:

    *Some background*
    I have multiple flash-memory USB drives (drive letters F: and G:). I have two internal hard drives (C and E). I have one external hard drive (K). I have one CD-ROM (D).
    I tried assigning the drive letter F to the CD-ROM, but this did not work. I received the same error listed above.
    I reassigned the drive letter back to D, but continue to receive this error message.
    I have also attached the USB memory device with drive letter F. I still receive this error message.
    The worst part is that I cannot close the installation program; I click Retry and Cancel hundreds of times, and the dialog box reappears.

    iTunes is incorrectly reporting iTunes 11.0.5 is the latest version. It's actually 11.1. Go to http://apple.com/itunes/download/ to get it.

    iTunes will run fine with the media on an external drive.
    However, I suggest that a tablet computer with a tiny hard drive is not ideal as the primary computer for managing an iTunes library, even a small one. If you have another machine, perhaps a big, boxy, inexpensive old desktop with a decent amount of storage, that might be a better choice.

    Recently my iPad (wifi) & my husband's iPhone (AT&T)have been unable to connect to the app store or iTunes. We get the message "cannot connect to iTunes store". The only thing that I have done recently is download a kindle book & add a Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard was never paired with the iPhone so I don't think that could be the issue. The iPad & iPhone have both been updated, but that hasn't resolved the issue. There was no problem connecting to iTunes through the PC to run the update. Why would both devices suddenly have the same problem? One is wifi & one is 3G so it's not the connection. They have nothing in common except the error. Any help would be appreiciated since this is getting frustrating. Thanks!

    Hi, Thank you!  I did as you suggested but it didn't work.  So, this time I cleared all apps out of the tray, signed out of my account at the store, and did a hard reboot.  Then on my desktop I signed out of my account in iTunes and then synced.  I have signed back into the store on the iPad but still get the same message.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.
