I am deploying CU6 in my organization.  I have one server that only has the Management Tools installed which I am trying to update to CU6.  Prerequisites fail with the following error:

Anyone else run into this?

Hi David,
Have you checked the above suggestion to install Exchange server 2013 Management Tools on your computer that is not running Terminal Services?
Is there any update with your issue?

  • Mac Mini Upgrade to Lion with USB: can't download Server Add On

I have a Mac Mini on Snow Leopard and I bought the Lion USB key to upgrade to Lion. I have a weak internet connection. Unfortunately, the first thing that happens when I insert the USB key and start the upgrade is that it needs to download the Server Add On. What is very bad is that it says to look on the App Store app to monitor the download but there is nothing happening here. My ADSL box shows no activity. Why do I have to download this? how many Mb is it? can I skip it somehow? If I cancel, it cancels the installation...
I am very disappointed and unhappy by this, I thought I would upgrade to Lion easily, especially after buying the USB key for 69 euros (I live in France).

    annmamac wrote:
The only solution I found is wipe the hard drive, install Lion then install the server part. I am not really interested in a drastic solution as this one which takes time and careful backup and is stressful.
At the very least, were I upgrading like you, I'd clone what I have to an external -- either bootable or in a disk image -- in case you need to roll back.
I've never upgraded any version of Server before, but that drastic measure I take all the time with major OS upgrades. And Snow Leopard to Lion is a major OS upgrade.
It's too bad that Apple doesn't make a straight Lion Server OS "bundle" available for purchase for the price of Lion client + server add on. That way you wouldn't have to do a two-step install to get to Lion Server. It certainly exists, I've downloaded it for my Mac Mini Server, which shipped with Lion Server, when I wanted to reinstall Lion Server.

  • Cannot upgrade Exchange 2010 SP1 Management Tools to SP2 on Win 8.1 workstation

I have a Win 8.1 workstation that I am trying to update the Exchange Management tools on from 2010 SP1 to SP2. I get an error that says:
           Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear(); &RoleBinPath\ServiceControl.ps1 EnableServices Critical" was run: "AuthorizationManager check failed.".
The WMI service is being disabled and not starting back up after, causing the error. I have tried the following:
-Confirmed that the ExecutionPolicy is set to undefined/unrestricted for the localmachine
-Confirmed no GPO exists in our domain to restrict this
Every single time I run the install the WMI service switches to disabled and the localmachine Execution Policy is switched to RemoteSigned.
I have tried the Google search steps except for the Setup /M:Recoverserver since I really don't know what that would do to our Exchange environment. I have seen some posts that the Exchange 2010 MGMT tools are not supported on Win 8, which I find hard to
believe. I get no unsupported error just this incredibly frustrating error.
    Any ideas?

What you are doing is totally unsupported:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff728623(v=exchg.150).aspx
By the way, Exchange 2010 sp1 and SP2 are no longer supported, the minimum supported is SP3.

  • Cannot Upgrade to 9860 With the Users Folder Redirected to Another Drive

I tried doing the update to 9860 and received an error message that I could not run the Windows Technical Preview because my "Program Files or Users folder has been redirected to another partition". This is indeed the case (my Users folder
was redirected to my other hard drive to save space on the SSD during setup), but if Windows is running fine, why is this not a valid configuration?
I've seen a complicated method to solve this issue and will do that to get the upgrades unless this can be addressed in the updater :)

    Hi Fumarin,
This  is not the new issue in current build. Actually, Microsoft has gave the reminder before:
Caution Using the ProgramData setting to redirect folders to a drive other than the system volume will block your ability to upgrade to future versions of Windows.
By changing the default location of the user profile directories or program data folders to a volume other than the system volume, you cannot service your Windows installation. Any updates, fixes, or service packs cannot be applied to the installation.
We recommend that you do not change the location of the user profile directories or program data folders.
See this article in Windows 8.1:
You encounter an error when trying to install Windows 8.1 due to redirecting the Users or Program Files folder to another partition

  • Cannot connect to database with servlet thru apache http server / vhosts

    Hello,
I have an application that works perfectly when Tomcat 5.5 is running stand-alone, but when I run Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server together, I get an error when trying to connect to the database. Servlets are working fine otherwise. Connection pooling is setup and working fine for Tomcat stand-alone. With the Apache server, I'm running Virtual Hosts.
My guess is that I need something in the host block of server.xml about the context.xml where the db resource pool is defined. This is what I have so far in server.xml:
    <Host name="www.mydomain.com" debug="0" appBase="d:/WebApps/mydomain"
    unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true">
    <Context path="" docBase="" debug="0"/>
    </Host>
Or the problem may be caused by something else entirely. Does anybody have any suggestions? Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Logan

    A little help? Anybody?
I can connect to the database with Tomcat stand-alone, but not with Tomcat integrated with Apache. I have seen this problem described elsewhere, but no solution has been found.

  • Anyone got NTP working with a Windows 2008 NTP server?

    Hello,
I'm trying to sync the time on our routers and swithces with a Windows 2008R2 server, but it doesn't work.  Has anyone managed to do this:

    net stop w32time
    net start w32time
    Doesnt work
Woudl Linux like Ubuntu be better?
    Thanks

I got this working from a cisco 2911 router to Windows 7 computer.
As per many articles, you are missing:-
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config]"
    "AnnounceFlags"=dword:00000005
But the one that allows Cisco kit to Sync is:-
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config]"
    "LocalClockDispersion"=dword:00000000
This article http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/network-time-protocol-ntp/108076-ntp-troubleshoot.html talks about having a root-dispersion higher than 1000ms (1 second) causing Cisco IOS-NTP to unsynchronizes itself.
This article http://htluo.blogspot.co.uk/2009/02/ntp-network-time-protocol.html#comment-form was the only one I found that added to the normal enable ntp server registry keys information, stating to change ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config\LocalClockDispersion’  from 10 to 0
There was also articles that said that the Windows NTP implementation was version 3, and therefore you had to append ‘version 3’ to the routers ‘ntp server x.x.x.x’ command. This may be perhaps true for earlier windows versions?, but was NOT required for Windows 7.

Hello, i tried upgrading to SME 7.1 on our Exchange 2013 SP1 CU6, but when trying to configure the Exchange Server in the SME management console using the configuration wizard, it gave an error before the LUN mapping page, saying "Failed to get Exchange information for server" and "The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state.". I upgraded Snapdrive to 7.1, verfied all credentials according to the manuals, re-installed and rebooted multiple times (registry and filesystem cleaned, even tried to rename the existing SnapInfo directory, ...), stopped all other services on the server but without any change... Every time when trying to run the configuration wizard, the debug log shows no errors, lists all Exchange information and ends with the following lines:[11/18 12:51:58 155] Exit CSmeCDOExm::GetExchangeStructureInternal 0x0

  • Cannot upgrade past 10.4.0 & iTunes 7.3 Problems

    I have a iMac-mini PowerPC 1.42Ghz, 512MB
Ever since I have loaded this with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger I cannot upgrade this OS with any type of OS X updates. The error I get:
    Macintosh HD
    74.4GB (2.7GB Free)
Installing this software requires 506MB of space.
"You cannot install Mac OS X Update Combined (PowerPC) on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
I cannot find any other such errors. Now I am stuck, because I recently updated iTunes to 7.3, however iTunes 7.3 requires Mac OS X 10.4.7
I would have thought iTunes update installer would have checked the OS version before applying the update?
    Any ideas?

As was explained earlier, you require much more space free on your HD than is actually going to be taken up by the end product. This is due to temporary and swap files.
THe iTunes installer sounds as if it may not have actually upgraded things as it DOES require a higher OS version than the bare 10.4 version.
I suggest you try and dump as much stuff as possible from your HD to free up space. Not just from the point of view of installing the patest OS upgrade, but also from the point of view that you will see a significant increase in speed with more HD space free. I usually recommend a min of 20% free. How large is you HD in the mini? I have an 80GB drive and try to not go far over the 60GB mark.
There are reported problems with 10.4.10 so you may want to consider going to 10.4.9 and waiting for things to die down with 10.4.10. I know there is a V1.1 of 10.4.10, but reports are still coming in of Airport beachballing in the menu bar with this still.

  • Exchange Recon with multiple Servers & Message Stores per Server

I am trying to think through the best way to write a single reconciliation task for an environment that has 3 Exchange Servers with 3 storage groups per server and 3 mailbox stores per storage group. That's 27 mailbox stores and I don't want to have 27 schedules tasks for reconciliation.
    Any thoughts?
    KC

All the servers are in a single domain.
The issues is the default scheduled task requires an exchange server and ad server parameter. The mailboxes not on the server specified show as "Users Matched" instead of "Event Linked" the reconciliation process.
Our Reconciliation Rule is "User Login equals sAMAcountName", but the mailboxes still don't match correctly. I originally thought this rule would work regardless of the exchange server(s) involved, but it does not seem to be the case.

  • Cannot write email body in OWA with Exchange 2013 SP1 CU6

    Hi,
    I have a problem with Exchange 2013 SP1 with CU6.
All of OWA user cannot write in the body of email. They can write the Object and the recipient but they cannot select body and write the body message. We have try with multiple Web brother and desactivate all Add-on but the problem still there...
The only way that works is to respond to an email, and in that case, it's working, we can write normally in the body of email.
    Have you an idea ?
    Thanks in advance!
    Sebastien

    Hi,
After contacting Microsoft support, we have found the solution.
The problem appear after we have recently install the patch described in this KB 2997209:
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2997209?wa=wsignin1.0
But on 2013 Mailbox Server, Echange is not installed in the default path C:\ but on D:\
So we have to manually copy the content of folder D:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\Owa\prem\15.0.995.29 in the folder 15.0.995.31 (MAKE a BACKUP of FOLDER BEFORE!)
No need to reboot, or restart IIS, it's working after that!

I already tried to upgrade but not successful.
can i upgrade exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 on same small business server 2008 machine or any alternate through which it is possible.

    Hi Arun,
Its really great that you want to move and upgrade old Exchange to new Exchange server. The manual steps and guide is already recommended to you.
Moreover, I would like to recommend you to use an automated tool to upgrade your Exchange server 2007 to exchange 2013.  I have tried and test tool to do Exchange Migration 2007 to 2013. You can follow the link
http://www.exchange2007to2013migration.exchangemigrationtool.com/. It will also help you to do Intra-Cross forest migration if you required.
Hopefully my recommendation will surely help you.
    Thanks,

  • Upgrading exchange but want to leave SBS 2008 server in place.

    Hello TechNet
I would like to install an exchange 2013 server in my organization, currently i have a sbs 2008 server. I would like to keep the remote user functionality of sbs but upgrade the exchange. If that's not possible i am still upgrading exchange. Does anyone
have a best practice steps for moving from SBS 2008 to exchange 2013. Should i just fallow the upgrade path from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013? The server i'm installing exchange on is a AD server on the domain currently and is running Windows server 2012.
Thanks in advance for any advice or help.
    Bri
    RBIT@CA

We went that route as a stop gap when hardware constrained us: SBS 2008 successfully virtualised on a 2012 R2 Hyper-V host.  It was not all plain sailing. Having shut down and disabled all the services on the physical SBS2008,
we used the Sysinternals disk2vhd tool to get two vhds (C: was system, E: was all the data including Exchange info stores), converted to vhdx using 2012.R2 Hyper-V manager and built a VM using these vhdxs.  It booted at first but then
froze at restart after the Hyper-V host tools were automatically installed. We found a work round which involved running the MS System Update and recovery Tool (SURT) after the VM initial boot and before any subsequent VM restart.  Once services
were put back to normal, the virtualised SBS 2008 ran fine.
There is some doubt as to whether this is a supported configuration, and it will not be easy to configure robust backups (see
this thread). However, our SBS2008 VM has been running for over a year in this configuration and am just now planning a move to Office 365 integrated Exchange with onsite Exchange 2013 plus virtualised 2012.R2 DC as per Larry's first reply.
Good luck which ever way you go, and tread carefully!

  • Since upgrade to iOS 7 Email error on over 100KB emails "Cannot Send Mail  The message was rejected by the server because it is too large." Connecting to Exchange via Activesync

    Hi,
Following the upgrade to iOS 7.0.3 on all our iPhone and iPad devices, it has been identified that when sending emails around 100KB in size and over an error message appears on the device stating “Cannot Send Mail  The message was rejected by the server because it is too large.” See error message below. The send/receive limit is over 10MB so this is not the issue.
We are in an Exchange Environment using Microsoft Activesync. This issue is not evident in iOS 6. This has been tested on an iPhone 3GS running version iOS 6.1.3. We have been unable to repeat the issues seen on iOS 7 on the older OS. It is not possible to roll back to the older operating system as Apple are no longer signing the software.
We use Microsoft Active Sync to connect to our Exchange servers through a TMG. The issue is very inconsistent, some identical emails go through, some fail. This is not an issue with the send/receive limit as this is over 10MB. The error message when it fails on the TMG is Status: 413 Request Entity Too Large, which we believe is from IIS on the CAS server.
Does anyone have any suggest course of actions to take?
    Many Thanks

This resolution have to attend at the server not with the ios device. My employer's mail administrator reject me to correct it from the server. As his concern is, if ither ios devices works why don't mine? So I am helpless than changing my iphone. It works fine for early versions of ios and with androids. And also one of my friends iphone4 with ios 7 (similar as mine) works too. So I guess it's something wrong with my iPhones settings. But basic question I cannot understand is it works in my phone before this ios7 upgrading. And currently working with my yahoo account too. Favourable reply expected.

  • Cannot connect to database using the Upgrade Simulation Tool

I have installed the Upgrade Simulation Tool on my system and when I try to run the tool my system works in the for awhile in the background and creates the _Simulation mdf and ldf files and a .bck file.  After 3 or 4 minutes it gives me an error "Cannot connect to the database".
It looks to me like it is connecting to the database because it is creating the files in the SQL Data folder.  I have tried to run it on several databases and get the same results.
    Thank you, Jeff

    Hi,
You may not have the ability to upgrade it directly.
    He does have the ability.
When downloading Pl 42, it is cleary marked as "Upgrader", which means it can be used for upgrade (in this case simulation) from a lower version than 2007A
Patchlevel which are marked as "patch" are suitable only for updating the PL within the very same version of SAP Business One.
This tool should run under 2007 system I believe.
The Upgrade Simulation tool was designed in orderto test an upgrade, therefore it can run at a machine where 2005 version is installed. Technically speaking it creates a second SBO-common, which can be used only with the special designed (read only) client of the tool.
Jeff, you should check access rights of your SQL Data folder.Maybe grant user "Everyone" modifying rights to that folder. In addition you could try to detach a DB and move the related *.mdf and *.ldf to another folder where no access denied rights were applied.
If using MSSQL 2005 create via ODBC a Native Client connection to the Server, although you might just working locally only.

    Mario
