Cannot upgrade Flash Player from 11.8.800.94 to 11.8.800.174

I have Flash Player 11.8.800.64 on Windows 8 on my laptop.  I want to upgrade to 11.8.800.174 but I cannot because when I try to a screen comes up saying it is unnecessary to install.
I cannot watch videos because the screen is always green.  Everyone is telling me to adjust the video settings but I cannot.  THERE ARE NO VIDEO SETTINGS AVAILABLE WHEN I RIGHT CLICK.  The only settings are Privacy, Local Storage, Microphone, and Camera.  I don't know why.  In all the help videos there is another option for video but it does not exist for me when I right click.  Frustrating.
Also, I am in Desktop mode, not Modern mode.  I watched that unhelpful video three times.
I used to be able to watch videos fine but now I cannot watch any at all and nothing has changed.  Strange.
I want to upgrade but cannot.  Mainly I just want to watch videos without the green screen.

Flash Player on Windows 8 is updated by Windows Update.
Regarding "green" screen; that usually indicates an outdated graphics driver; see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765

  • Cannot upgrade Flash Player via Safari - help!

    Good evening Mac Bods.
My PowerMac G5 2.5Ghz is running OS 10.3.7 Panther with Safari. I cannot watch any Flash videos (You Tube etc) and wanted to upgrade from Flash Player 7 to Flash Player 9 but after I use the uninstall, all new installations fail - message says "Verification failed". How do I fix this please? Any ideas gratefully received.

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Cannot update Flash Player from version 14

I'm unable of updating or removing Flash Player 14 from my computer. I have installed version 16 aswell, but swf files still run in version 14. In Flash Professional, I am unable to export HTML wrappers to other flash versions than 14.
I cannot find it at the list of installed applications either. This is really frustrating as I suspect my applications would perform better in newer versions.

Local swf files use the standalone player (Projected), not the Flash Player plugin.
You can download the latest Projector from https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you need to make the file association manually.

  • I still cannot upgrade Flash Player.

It's been over two months since I first posted a question on this forum and I am still unable to download the Flash Player upgrade from 10.1.102.64 to 11.?. I have an Intel Core II Duo running Mac OS 10.6.8 (64 bit). None of the suggestions received have worked, although most recommendations I receive are for Windows opperating systems. I tried uninstalling FP months ago, but since some of the programs I need and use regularly do not operate without some version of FP I am not willing to do that again.
It would be nice if someone could help as a number of things using the newer version are not available to me. Am I the only one with this problem?

After a day away from the computer I uploaded some photos taken today and subsequently accepted a recommendation for some updates and restarting of my computer. Immediately after doing so I noticed a note flash across the screen that Adobe Flash Player was out of date and was being deleted, or something to that effect. I now no longer have any version of Flash Player on my Mac laptop and am unable once again to utilize one of my programs which required a version of Flash Player to perform one of its functions which I regularly use.
It has been months since I first posted a notice of my problem. Again, my situation may be completely different from any others who are having problems, but not only can I not download the newest version of Flash Player, but now Adobe is taking away my ability to utilize another program for which I paid a significant amount of money which that developer depended on the continued support of your program for me to utilize their software.
Why can you not help me download your latest version of Flash Player?

  • Cannot upgrade Flash Player

Cannot upgrade since no way to shut down DASHBOARDCLIENT.
Cannot find this is system under utilities etc.....
Using Yosemite 10.1.1 with Safari browser

this is the answer I found on Mac support forums that worked right away.  The old flash player plug in was not removed by the new installer.  copied to give post person credit.

I have a new MacBook Pro and I followed these instructions, downlonading and installing the new Flash plugin. But when I looked in "/Library/Internet Plugins" there was no folder called "Disabled Plugins".
However, I did see two versions of Flash:
    _Flash Player.plugin with old date
    Flash Player.plugin with todays date
I deleted _Flash Player.plugin and this fixed the problem.

  • Cannot upgrade flash player in Firefox on XP

I am running XP Pro SP3.  I primarily use Firefox 3.6.8 for all of my web browsing.  Firefox currently has flash player 9,0,28,0 installed, according to Adobe's page which tells you which version you are running.  I have tried several times to upgrade to the newest version of flash.  Each time I try it appears as if the install goes well but every time I go back to check on Adobe's page it tells me I'm still running the old version.  I have tried uninstalling my current flash using Adobe's uninstaller several times but I just cannot seem to get the newest version installed again.  I'm just about ready to throw this laptop right out the window.  Anyone have any suggestions?
By the way, my computer is also running IE 7.0.5730.11 with flash player 10,1,53,64 installed.  Just can't seem to get the most up-to-date player on Firefox!!!
    Thanks,
    Cordy

FINALLY! I finally got around to taking your suggestions and digging out some information.  Below I have attached your original questions with my answers in red.  Please take a look and let me know if the answers might give you a clue to what is going on with my computer.  Also, please let me know if any of my answers are not clear enough or if you just need to know more.
    Thanks!!
Hi, well I think we need to see what is Installed and what isn't. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open the\
Flash folder and post back all files listed there. Any NPSWF files you will need to right click on then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.
    Flash10h.ocx
    FlashInstall.log
    Flashplayer.xpt
    FlashUtil10h_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil10h_ActiveX.exe
    FlashUtil10h_Plugin.exe
    NPSWF32.dll (version 10.1.53.64)
Using FF(Firefox) look for the SWF vs(number) plug-in and is should be enabled. I need the number.
There are actually 2 SWF plugins in FF: one is 10.1.53.64 (enabled)  and the other is 9.0.28.0 (disabled)
Using IE go to Tools, Manage add ons and find Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control...Flash10h.ocx and it should be listed that way and Enabled.
It is listed that way and enabled.
What Anti-Virus do you use, name and version number needed. Does it have a Firewall and if not do you use any other Firewall than Windows?
Using AVG for Anti-virus – version 9.0.851.  Not currently using any Firewall.
Are you the Administrator and are you making sure you are using that account to Uninstall/Install?
I am the admin and that is the account I was using for the all install/uninstall work.
Do you use adblock in FF or do you have any pop up blocker software Installed?
Not using any sort of pop-up or ad blocker.
In Tools, Internet Options under the Security Tab make sure it is set to Medium for the Internet Zone.
    It is.
During anytime when Installing for IE or  FF, did you use the DLM(download manager)? If so go to Add/Remove and see if the DLM or a getplus is listed there.
Sorry. I wasn’t sure to what DLM you were referring here.  Are you talking about the Add/Remove Programs option in the Control Panel or something within IE or FF?

  • Unable to upgrade Flash Player from version 15 to 16

Hello Chris.  The process is still not right.  I've posted elsewhere but am unable to update Flashplayer from 15.xxx to 16.xxx.  I can get the installer but the actual download stalls at 35% or so using Firefox, sometimes as high as 44% with Chrome.  I don't play games but several sites have started initially denying me due to out-of-date FP.  Otherwise I really would have quit trying.  Using Window 7 Pro  64x, though several other programs are 32x----no idea what this means.  I have deleted FP  15.xxx  and the world has not ended--tho my patience has.  There's gotta be a fix!

Sorry you're having problems with the update.  Here's what I'd try:
    1. Uninstall Flash Player using the stand alone installer here (do this even if you've uninstalled from the control panel): http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe
    2. If the online installer is failing, go to our Flash Player Install Help page and scroll to the bottom of the page: Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows
    3. At the bottom of the help page you'll find links to the ActiveX (IE) and NPAPI (Firefox) "standalone" installers.  Download these and give them a try.
Ps. I broke this out into a new thread as the one you had replied to was over a year old and unrelated to installation.

  • Please Help! I tried to upgrade Flash Player, but have older computer

Please Help! -- I tried to upgrade FLASH PLAYER, but I have an older MAC laptop OS X 10.4 = Version 4.1.3 (4533.19.4).
I need to UPGRADE Flash Player; however it's not available -- Recently, I cannot watch some videos or access particular websites.
I'm a teacher, and CAN'T AFFORD to buy  a new computer at this time.
    > Can Adobe Corp. please help by offering an expanded range of UPGRADE support ??

Unfortunately, if you're running OS 10.4, odds are that your Mac is a PowerPC model (-About This Mac will let you know for certain), and the newest version that will run on your system is Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and 9.0.289.0 (126 MB)
That's a direct link to the download, you can right click (or control+click) and save it to your downloads folder. Expand it with Stuffit Expander and run the 10.102.64 installer.
That's the best that can be hoped for because if your Mac is PowerPC, and I suspect it is, even Apple no longer supports it since September of 2009. The next OS X version (10.5) won't run the latest Player either. You'd need an Intel Mac with 10.6.3 or newer to use Flash Player 11.8.800.94.
PowerMax does have some really good deals on "pre owned" Macs. I've bought three from them myself over the years.

  • Last flash player from Adobe is broken

    Hello
Last flash player from Adobe seems to be broken when using with Chatroulette:
on Macbook Air camera stopped working
on iMac 27" works, but Safari takes 100% cpu (when Flash Player is running with Chatroulette)
    Other users experience the same
    My configuration
    Mac OS 10.6.4
    Flash Player: 10.1.102.64, 10,1,103,19
    Safari, Chrome
I tried re-installing Flash Player, creating new account, changing language, changing browsers, running Disc Utility = nothing helped
I tried downloading Chrome because I heard there is different version of Flash Player (10,1,103,19)
    Result is same.
Hardware is brand new, operating system is brand new. Everything worked until last flash update.
Please assist! Some of our users experience the same problems
As a temporary solution I have installed Adobe Flash Player 10.2 but it is unstable and our users cannot do that. However it works
    Thanks much
    Andrey

This is STILL an issue.   There is something badly broken in the Mac version of Flash 10.   I have a brand new macbook pro, and had the original install of flash 9.  My cameras worked fine.   When I upgraded to 10 -- and yes, I *did* uninstall the previous version -- I lost the ability to config my camera, since it stopped appearing in the control panel dialog.
I uninstalled Flash 10, saying many not-so-nice things about Adobe and their exceptionally poor QA in the process, and re-installed Flash 9.   Sure enough, my cam worked like a charm.
Hey Adobe guys:   If you are reading these forums, PLEASE try to fix this!!!!  Downgrading is only a temporary fix, as more and more sites are specifically requiring for Flash 10.
GET YOUR QA TEAM TO TEST THIS!!!!!!!!!  PLEASE!!!!!!!!

  • How Do I Stop Flash Player From Storing Cache?

    Windows XP SP3
Latest Flash Player (i just upgraded it to the latest as of today)
There are a couple of directories on my HDD that appear to be the place where Flash stores cache.
    One of them is (#1):
    c:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache\
    The other is (#2):
    c:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#sharedobjects
These directories were so bloated with subdirectories that it literally took about 12 HOURS OR MORE to delete everything in them!  I'm not kidding.
There must have been 100,000 subfolders or maybe even more in these folders.  They were choking everything on my computer that had to read past them.
I FINALLY was able to delete everything from them after hours of work.
Now I want to keep them empty, so this doesn't happen again but I can't find out how to do that.  It is so dang frustrating.  I looked and looked for a way to shut this storage off.
I finally found the online "Settings Manager" and thought I FINALLY solved the problem after setting the "Global Storage" setting to "Never" and unchecking the "Allow third party Flash content to be stored on your computer" and "Store common Flash components to reduce download times" boxes.
    BUT NO!!!
It didn't do a thing.  I looked at those two folders again and they are still being filled up with new subfolders!!!!
    UUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
How do I keep Flash Player from storing this unwanted mess on my computer?!
    Thank you for ANY HELP!

    PS:
Before I set the global settings as I stated above, I DELETED all the "Websites already visited" from the list in Settings Manager so that ALL Websites would be set according to the global settings.
But none of that did a thing to stop the new folders from being created anyway.  How do I stop them??!!!

  • I cannot install flash player on my MAC - (osx 10.8.4) - it downloads 50%, then clicks to "finish"

I cannot install flash player on my Mac - running OSX 10.8.4 and Safari 6.0.5.  The progress bar show is as  downloading to 50%, then converts to "installing" and immediately goes to 100% and says it's installed. But it's not.  I get another Adobe Flash installer icon on my desktop instead.  Help!

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
First, remove Adobe Flash Player completely using Flash Player uninstaller for MAC : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
Download offline installer for Adobe Flash Player (MAC) from here : http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg
Once the file is downloaded, run the installer

  • Windows 7: Cannot uninstall, cannot download Flash Player

    Windows 7 64 bit using IE8 32 bit.
Problem 1: Using You tube from user account: says I do not have FP installed, click here to install. This fails, so I go to the administrator account and try from there.
    Problem 2: Uninstalling
I’m having problems downloading and installing AFP. I start here  and it shows that “You have version 10,0,42,34 installed.” http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_cpsid_83713_en-us
I go to Flash Player Uninstaller : http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_14157_en-us
I run uninstall , reboot but first site shows that “You have version 10,0,42,34 installed.”
If I go to this page it shows no version! http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_15507_en-us
    Problem 3: downloading
If I go to Flash support on 64 bit operating systems (http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_6b3af6c9_en-us) I get in a never ending loop because when I click on “Using this 32-bit Internet Explorer, download and install the latest, most secure version of Flash Player (Flash Player Download Center).”  It takes me back to the same page so I cannot download.

I have followed this and I now have Flash Player installed.
    However when I go to
http://www.flixxy.com/revolving-house-architecture.htm from a user account I get this message:
“Click here to install the following ActiveX control: ‘Adobe Flash Player’ from ‘Adobe Systems Incorporated’...
If I go to the same site from an administrator account I do not get this message.
I rebooted and logged in as a user and got the same message. I clicked on "Click here", entered the admin password and shut down IE and got this message:(I am not aware that I have anything open which may be causing the problem.)(But why should I need to install FP when it is already installed?)

  • I cannot get Flash Player to install on my Mac

I cannot get Flash Player to install on my Mac Air.  I have repeatedly confirmed that I meet the system requirements and installed and uninstalled the software.  It always fails at 51% installation and give me and alert that says Install Error.  Please help!
    MAC OS 10.8.5
    Safari 6.1
    Firefox 26.0
Just performed the update to FP12 on my iMac.  Worked perfectly.
    MAC OS 10.6.8
    Safari 5.1.10
    Firefox 26.0
It appears the problem is with the newer OS...

"Allllllllrighty then!" as "Ace Ventura" said....
The problem ISN'T with Flash Player...
If you remember back in September, when Apple released the 10.8.5 update, shortly thereafter... you no doubt discovered a file named "mach_kernel" was in your Mac HD directory.  And... unaware of what it was, you deleted it.
That (mach_kernel) is a base file of OS X and Apple screwed up the update and made it "visible" when it's supposed to be hidden.
Hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting Mac Users worldwide deleted it and it'll make things worse as time goes by.
YOU'RE in luck, though. I have a fix.
If you have a TIme Machine and use the "Secrets" pereference pane to reveal "hidden files", you can restore it from a "pre 10.8.5" backup.
If not, I have a "fresh" mach_kernel file you can download.
You'll need to download and install the Secrets prefpane. It'll then be in your System Preferences.
Make sure you have it set to "show hidden files"
Check the box and you have to restart Finder
Press "Quit This" and then go to the Finder Dock icon and right click it
    Select "Open"
    Open your TIme Machine
Go back to September 28 or earlier.
You'll see the mach_kernel file in the Mac HD directory
(I can't show it in the TM because screenshots don't work while it's open but here it is in my MAc HD)
Right click it and select "Restore to"
Then, when it goes back to Finder, choose the Mac HD directory and click OK.
It will place the mach_kernel back where it was and you can install software again
DON'T FORGET to go back and hide your files (and restart Finder) again, or you'll have a mess with the clutter of hidden files everywhere.
IF you don't have the Time Machine...
WITH hidden files shown, download this file (mach_kernel.zip)
Move it to your Mac HD directory and THEN unzip it with Stuffit Expander or TheUnarchiver, whichever you use (most people have Stuffit).
You should see the mach_kernel file there.
You can delete the zip file, and then go back to Secrets in your System Preferences, and uncheck Show Hidden Files.
Restart Finder and it'll be safely hidden again.
THEN you can install Flash Player and other software without the "General Installation Error".

  • Why we cannot download flash player

WHy we cannot download flash player..""

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."
