Cannot upgrade Ipod version beyond 1.1.5

Hi,
I have an ipod itouch model MB376ZP. In iTunes using version 10 (downloaded a few days ago), on both a PC and mac, I cannot update the firmware version beyond 1.1.5.
I understand that I should be able to use version 3 on a first generation ipod touch, but it wont let me.

Cannot upgrade to Version 2.4

I have a legit Lightroom version 2.0 and had successfully upgraded to 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 but cannot upgrade to latest 2.4 with the error "Error reading setup initialization file" I have downloaded the upgrade twice with the same error. I have reinstalled from Version 2.0 to 2.3 again but cannot go to 2.4.
Any suggestions?

Cannot upgrade to version 3.2

I have a mac pro that is running 3.1 and it will not let me upgrade to version 3.2. My screen flickers every 60 seconds or so and I want to see if the update will resolve this issue. I have tried downloading the update from the apple website and installing it myself but still no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The 60 second thing makes me wonder if there's a service or other process running on a schedule that causes the flicker.
If it's a third party item, we might be able to go some way towards confirming that hunch if we do a clean boot of your Windows, and check to see if there's still a flicker.
If you've got XP, try:

I cannot Download new version beyond the first step

The upgrade will not download beyond step 1 where it shows in the top left corner of the screen.There is no indication for step 2 where you drag the Firefox icon into the app box.

If the application folder is inside in another folder (Macintosh HD), open the Macintosh HD folder and then drag the Firefox icon into the app folder you can see now.

Cannot upgrade os version in Z10

Dear Friends,
For faults with the screen on my Z10, I should return the unit that I have in temporary use (Z10 too), Because my provider gave me a new one by warranty.
The problem is that in trying to make the complete transfer of data through the blackberry link, from a Z10 to another Z10, the process is not completed because it says that the new OS version is lower than the current device os version
Versions are:
Current Z10 10.0.10.738
New Z10 10.0.10.99
The procedure indicates from RIM to update the OS version with blackberry link, does not work on my windows 7 machine or a Mac pro.

I would suggest to try updating Wirelessly, from the BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone go to Settings> Software Updates> Check for updates.

Cannot Upgrade iPod Touch to 4.0

Hi there,
I just got a 2nd Gen iPod Touch (2.2.1) and I've been wanting to get some new Apps from the Store but they all require iPhone 3.0 or 4.0 Software Updates. I went on Apple's site for the update tutorial (iTunes>Your device>Check for Update) but I keep getting a pop-up message telling me my iPod Touch is completely up to date.
I know that this update is supposed to work on my Gen, but it simply isn't. Does anyone here have the same issue and does someone know how to fix my problem? I'd really like to get more apps.

I really appreciate all of your help guys, but unfortunately I still can't do a software update -- even after having iTunes 10.1 and restoring my iPod Touch. I'm thinking my last resort is to just go to the Apple Store and see what the problem is. Otherwise, I might have to self this one back to my friend

Msg. installing iTunes 7.X reads: "The installation cannot directly upgrade the version of iPod software found on this computer. Please uninstall the iPod software and try again." All references to iPod, iTunes, QuickTime removed from Add/Remove, C:Program Files and recycle bin. Got rid of same with Window Cleanup Installer utility whe add/remove did not work.
So,nothing to uninstall? Can't buy a new iPod since can't load iTunes 7.x and Apple loses sale (and me music)
Can load iTunes 6.X fine without a problem.

Let's try getting an iTunes 7 installer log to the Apple Engineers for a look.
1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
3. Type in a space, then the following line:
/l*v C:\log.txt
4. Hit return.
5. The installer will create a log file:
C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
- A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
- The username you are using in the thread
- The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
- the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
- A concise description of the issue you are seeing

if Add/Remove won't let you remove one of those, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to remove the installation configuration of any entries called "ipod for windows [date]" or "ipod updater [date]".

Iphone and 3 ipods not registering with iTunes since upgrading to version 10.4!

Good day and thanks for your help. AppleCare has been unable to solve or identify my problem. Since upgrading to version 10.4 I am unable to have my iphone or ipods be recognized in iTunes. I have deleted and reloaded iTunes four times, as instructed by my AppleCare tech. I still cannot see any devices in iTunes. I am running a Dell Latitude D620 with XP, Service Pack 3. My device manager shows all USB ports are active and working properly. I have tried multiple Apple sync cables. My phone and cable work fine on my wife's laptop, so I do not believe it is a hardware issue with the cable or phone.
I heard a rumor that I need USB 2.0 ports for version 10.4. I believe my ports are version 1. Is this true? If so, how can I find and reinstall iTunes version 10.3.
Thank you for your time and assistance. I am extremely frustrated by this process!

Cannot sync ipod since downloading new version

I recently downloaded the latest version of itunes. When I connected my ipod classic 80gb to my computer the following message came up:- "Unable to sync ipod. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". When I disconnected my ipod all the music had been deleted. I reset it and tried again, but the same message appeared. I can no longer sync any music. Does anybody know why this problem is happening and how I can resolve it?

Has your music been deleted off the computer? If it is still there, at least you will be able to synchronise that music to SOMETHING, maybe at a later date if your iPod is beyond repair. I can't think why your iPod would not be able to synchronise... Maybe you need to upgrade your version of iTunes, or re-download the iPod software, or even (rather drastically) upgrade your computer?
I would contact the Apple company with further details of the problem. It sounds to me like a problem with the iPod software update in the downloading process, but it could indicate a virus, although this is unlikly. Scan your computer just to be safe.

Even hacking it you cannot go further than the equivalent to 4.2.1. The only thing Apple could possibly do is add more RAM.

Can't run installer - says can't upgrade current version of ipod

I have been trying to update iTunes. I have the most recent version, and the most recent software on my ipod (5th Gen. ver. 1.1.2 and am using the 6/28/06 updater). When I click on the downloaded file, I get the message "This installation cannot directly upgrade the version of ipod software found on this computer.Please uninstall the software and try again." Last night I went to "Remove programs" and removed all the ipod software. Still got the message. I then did a file search and removed anything I found with ipod, and went into msconfig and unchecked anything ipod. I still got the same message when I tried to update. I went back and installed the last (6/28) updater again so I could use my ipod with itunes again until this is figured out.
Any ideas?

Alright I got mine fixed.
Go to this and download this for windows:

And run that and uninstall "Ipod for Windows" after you do that run the Itunes 7.0 Install and it works.
