Cannot upgrade my itunes to 6

It always does the same thing. in the installer, at the beginning of when its installing it and the blue bar is the loading bar, It stops and says "Installation Error". What the crap? can i have some help?

yes i still need a hand. it turns out, the installer will install anything, as long as it isnt Apple made. whenever i try to install anything apple made, the installer starts, it says locating nessicary files, and then i gives me an error. the only thing apple made that worked was the itunes phone driver.

    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.

  • Cannot upgrade my itunes 10 11.1

cannot upgrade my itunes to 11.1

You should not have to download and install iTunes from Apple in order to get the latest version on your Mac.  You should be able to choose Software Update from the Apple () menu.
OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338
Alternatively, you can try and access the update from within iTunes itself by selecting teh Check for Updates menu item.

If both of the afore mentioned update methods fail, then another option is to download and install iTunes directly from Apple's download site.

I have ITunes 10.7.0.21 and I cannot Upgrade To ITunes Plus Or Burn ITunes Songs To Mp3 Cd Disks.  Do I not already have the DRM Free Songs that I have already purchased from ITunes over the course of the last year?  How do I get my DRM Free Songs and be able to burn or transfer them. Please advise

I think I solved this for me. I had Netbarrier set to enable "Information Hiding" when I first had this problem. Unchecking that setting solved the problem.

  • Cannot upgrade (expand) iTunes 7.3

Cannot upgrade to 7.3. I can download dmg image which gives me iTunes 7.3 disc drive icon.
However I cannot expand "iTunes.mpkg " icon or go any further. When I click it asks for a" folder to expand the archive" . At that point I don't have a clue. Same problem when I tried to install Safari beta. I have new version of stuffit expander? Any thoughts
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Not this time. When I click the icon it opens Stuffit expander and tells me I am in a locked destination folder. When I try to open to other destinations I keep getting error messages. I have tried everything including rebooting; downloading several times etc.

  • Cannot upgrade to iTunes plus or Complete My Album

Every time I try to upgrade to iTunes Plus or try to Complete My Album iTunes does not accept my password. I enter my password and the login box comes up again with the password feild is empty. It sometimes states that I've incorrectly input the password. It accepts my password for all other purchases. Does anyone know why and a solution to the problem?

  • Cannot upgrade to itunes 11.0.1 or 11.0.2 without deleting iTunes off windows computer! HELP!

I have a windows vista 32-bit pc. Every single time I try to upgrade to itunes 11.0.2 on restarting itunes has been deleted. Reinstalling itunes by downloading the installer through the apple website doesn't work and I have to do several system restores before I get it back. I have not been able upgrade for the past couple of months for 11.0.1 either. This is really frustrating please help!

I had the same problem today with iTunes on my Windows XP desktop.  The problem lies with Windows  which does not allow a complete removal of the old Itunes version.
Install the file from this link
    http://http://support.microsoft.com/fixit
Follow the instructions and the fixit file will totally remove all the old ITunes files from the registry.  After that is done, download the new iTunes from Apple and there will be no problem.

  • Cannot upgrade to iTunes 10.4 in Lion

The hard drive on my Mac Mini (late 2009) failed at the start of July. This has been replaced under Applecare and a new OSX Snow leopard installed at the same time.
I used Time Machine to restore my files and system and everything seemed to be ok. I ran all the software upgrades and after these were completed I installed Lion.
Again everything went ok and the only piece of incompatible software was Intego VirusBarrier X6 which I then downloaded again and reinstalled without problems.
There were no other changes made but now when I try to install iTunes 10.4 by software update it downloads and installs and does everything until the very last moment ( moving files etc) when a message says that this software can't be installed. I've tried to reinstall Lion from a CD where I saved a copy of the installation files, and it also has the same error message that installation cannot be completed.
    Any suggestions ?

After I posted this, similar problems were shown which had not appeared in my initial search.  The same solution worked for me. Logged in as a different user with admin rights, ran software update and iTunes installed ok.

  • Can't use new iPod Nano, cannot upgrade to iTunes 7, running Leopard 10.5.8?

Help!  This is a hybrid question.  I just received my iPod Nano today (the newest one, 7th generation I believe?).  I attempted to connect to my iTunes, and it prompted me to update iTunes.  I am unable to update iTunes because apparently my OS X is outdated.
I believe I am currently operating at 10.5.8.
I spent several hours trying to download the updates only to determine I need a whole other OS X, maybe Snow Leopard or Lion?  I don't believe I can upgrade to Mountain Lion from what I currently have.
I'm REALLY frustrated right now and can't find a Lion download on the Mac website.
I'm operating a white MacBook, circa 2008.  Please help.

Click here; they resumed selling it on the web store after I wrote that.

  • Cannot upgrade to itunes 10

when i try to download itunes 10 it looks like it will load, but nothing happens. When i called support they told me to uninstall 9.2, but my system says "The windows installer could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not installed correctly. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
I am running XP Pro and other programs will uninstall. What can I do to fix problem. We just got a Itouch 4th gen and it requires itunes version 10.

We seemed to be having similar issues....I don't know if this will work for you, but here’s my story. After nobody could help me...
    1. I did a SEARCH for anything with APPLE in its title. Then I deleted everything (that looked apple computer related),that my computer would let me.
    2. Then I did the same thing for ITunes.
    3. Then I did the same thing for QuickTime.
    4. Then I emptied the recycling bin & restarted the computer.
    5. Once restarted I DL’d Msicuu2.exe off the web.
    6. Ran Msicuu2.exe and removed anything Apple, ITunes or QuickTime related.
    7. Repeated 1-4, just to be sure I got everything.
Nothing seemed to work! Then I read in one of the posts to ‘make sure all your windows updates are installed’ (mine were WAY over due because of paranoia). I installed all the updates’ and repeated the whole process.
    8. DL’d the latest version of ITunes for Windows and it INSTALLED!!!! After 5 days of pulling my hair out.
THIS MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU.
