Cannot upgrade my machine to 8.1
Help me please I cannot upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8. There is an error somewhere as this machine was supposed to be upgradable to 8.1!!! I ran the Windows compatibility check and it tells me I cannot upgrade for compatibility reasons. I also get the error message. see image attached. I am annoyed as I cant seem to find the solution that has been dragging for months even while under warranty.
My advice is not to upgrade now. Wait a month or two, unless there is some new feature of Win8.1 that you really need. This is my personal insider's view of the situation based on open defects at both Lenovo and Microsoft.

I recently upgraded my machine to Windows 8.1 Pro in order to use Hyper-V for Windows Phone development but ran into another issue. I also have Ubuntu set up on virtual box but now can't access it because of the following error:
VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Certain guests (e.g. OS/2 and QNX) require this feature and will fail to boot without it.
Are there some permissions I have to set for this? If so how?

MikeThe Phone Emulator requires Hyper-V. The installer enables it silently.
VirtualBox and Hyper-V cannot be running at the same time. They both require direct access to the virtualization extensions of your processor.

I'm using a 15" Macbook Pro running OSX6.8 and cannot upgrade. I have a subscription to Adobe CC but none of these work on this so I was on with Adobe for 5 hours trying to install and launch Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Muse, and Acrobat Pro from CS6. Well, InDesign is the only one that works and I have a ton of work due! I don't have a serial number for Photoshop or Illustrator except for CS3, and they don't work. InDesign gave me no problems. Illustrator says it can't work on this machine. Photoshop needs a serial number. I'm stumped and getting anxious and freaked out. Can anyone help? Adobe Chat is down right now.

We have planned to upgrade our SCCM 2012 SP1 infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 so we have setup test environment to test SQL database upgrade before doing same in production.
But while testing SQL database upgrade on test machine, it is getting failed with below error.

Thanks.We found out that there were duplicate entries in the PkgStatus_G and the PkgServers_G tables in the SCCM DB. We identified them, deleted them , and then we were able to run the /TESTDBUPGRADE command and it went through fine. We performed
all of this on a COPY of the PROD DB and then moved the changes in PROD. Hope this helps someone.

Cannot upgrade from Solaris 10 U5 to Solaris 10 U8
I have a V490 which has Solaris 10 U5 running on it, and has OBP 4.15.6. I also installed 2 qlc fiber channel HBA.
Now, I want to upgrade it to Solaris 10 U8. However, I experienced some problem.
When you boot from the internal hard drive, the OS recognized hard drive through controller c1. Therefore, you will see hard drive as c1t0d0 and c1t1d0.
When I try to upgrade the OS, I booted from cdrom (Solaris 10 U8). Then the OS recognized the hardware in different order. The OS assign c0 to one of the HBA, and c1 to another HBA. For both hard drives, they are recognized under c3. In that case, I cannot upgrade the OS. I followed every screen of installation, until one point, it should check your existing system for an OS instance, then prompt you that you can upgrade your OS. However, in my case, it didn't prompt me, instead, it treated it as a new machine and go on with the rest of installation procedure.
Can any one help me?

iPad 1 cannot upgrade to io6, but apps want me to upgrade to make them compatible and streamlinedwith 6 - should I refuse the updates? They don't say if they'll still run in an ios5 platform and I can't afford a new iPad if these upgrades make the iPad apps unusable on this machine. Thanks for any assistance!
KelleyHaving the same issue here. I unfortunately purchased a book on iTunes, then went to download iBooks, but can't due to their recent update/upgrade. My kids iTouchs are all 6.1.5 , So I'm guessing that if you did not have iBooks previously purchased that you are now S.O.L. if you want to read a book on your iPod??
I am rather frustrated that I spent money on a book that they can't read.
Is there another app that will let them read it? -
I have an old iMac version 10. 4.11 and I have the iPhone 3GS which I cannot upgrade the latest applications I want to buy the iPhone 4S but I need to back up all the information on my iMac and move it to a different computer contacts songs etc which is the easiest way to do this

I tried upgrading to leopard, even bought the software and brought it home but it wouldn't let me. So i went back to apple, gave them the specifications of the machine and been told my machine is simply too old for leopard. This is incredible to me because it really isn't THAT old (i think just a little over 6 years maybe) and yet i'm left out on the curb when it comes to using newer apple products. I understand technology moves on but the mindset that i am supposed to dump a perfectly working machine after a couple of years or face not being able to use any other apple product is counter to what thought apple was about. -
Cannot upgrade from 9i databases to 10.2.0.3 on Solaris
You cannot upgrade from Oracle 9.2 database to 10.2.0.3 on Solaris. You can upgrade to 10.2.0.2, then to 10.2.0.3 There is a serious problem though doing a direct upgrade, the database will not function. You get
ORA-06512: at "SYS.UPGRADE_SYSTEM_TYPES_FROM_920", line 1
Has anyone got around this problem yet? Metalink is trying to fix the problem, but hasn't had any luck yet. Tired of having two different 10G directories on servers when migrating databases. Also was horrible during the first upgrade to discover the problem. It has been tested and is a known problem with the Oracle 10.2.0.3 patch (along with 2 other bad issues on 10.2.0.3 patch).I have had no issues going from 9.2.0.7 to 10.2.0.3 three weeks ago in our staging environment, since then I have not seen any problem.
Installed 10.2.0.1 base applied 10.2.0.3 pactchset to the same oracle home.
The catupgrd.sql script upgraded the following components in my database.

Cannot upgrade FROM Classic Mail
I have 6 email accounts in my home. All but 1 have been upgraded to the newer versions of mail but I have one that I cannot upgrade. It still has Classic Mail. When attempting to upgrade from Classic mail screens, it tells me it is not ready for me yet. Talked to Verizon Tech lat year to no avail. Would hate to close that email and open a new one but that may be the only option. Anyone with the same issue or thoughts? Thanks
I have had no issues going from 9.2.0.7 to 10.2.0.3 three weeks ago in our staging environment, since then I have not seen any problem.
Installed 10.2.0.1 base applied 10.2.0.3 pactchset to the same oracle home.

Cannot stop / start machines or server
Hi all
DL580 upgraded to 3.0.2
I seem to be getting a lot of issues where the vmachine stays locked
sometimes i tell a machine to restart and it just stays locked - it dissapears from xm list but stays locked in the manager... i try Avi#s suggestion of aborting the job from the jobs page and that clears the lock icon but i still cannot start the machine it just stalls with a lock icon upon start...
if i try xm create -c cfg i see pyGRUB but then it hangs after the countdown
i cannot restart the vm-server (whats the command to do that when the manager is not working?) - i try init 6 from dom0 but that doesnt work...
so im off to the light out management to hard power down... does any one have some suggestions 3.0.2 seems a little less stable than 3.0.1?
what shall i look at?

the console (of the vmserver) was moaning that ovmwatch failed to shutdowni cannot restart the vm-server (whats the command to do that when the manager is not working?) - i try init 6 from dom0 but that doesnt work...the Console command to restart is "shutdown -r now" or "reboot"

I cannot upgrade from iOS 5.-01 to 5.1 on original iPad
My wife and I both have iPads running 5.0.1. Mine is v2 and hers is v1. We both have Macs with 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.6.
When I tried upgraded to 5.1 throguh iTunes I got messages saying I could not connect to the server. A friend suggested I reboot the iPad and my Mac. I did and the upgrade went fine.
I cannot upgrade my wife's iPad, however. Even after rebooting I get an error saying iTunes cannot download the upgrade because her computer is not hooked up to the internet. It is, however. I can access the iTunes store, use Safari, and get e-mail. I then tried to download the upgrade directly through the iPad but after a few minutes I get a message saying the updte failed.
Any suggestions?Problem solved. I upgraded after switching a cable. Not sure why that mattered but all is fine now.

I upgraded to OS Yosemite on my MacBook Air...and I cannot upgrade the Adobe Flash download that Adobe keeps asking me to download. I get the screen and when I click on the icon it just creates a new window but not download. Thoughts?

Cannot upgrade to 10.8.2 on 13" retina
i just bought MBP 13" retina display and have been trying to update to 10.8.2 to no avail. it keeps giving message as per above. also i cannot upgrade the iphoto as well as it requires 10.8.2 and i have only 10.8.1 installed. it keeps bringing me to the page above. any reason for this?
Try downloading the 10.8.2 Combo update from this site, not Software Update or the App store, disconnect all firewire + USB devicesRepair Permissions, re-install update, Repair Permissions again + try.
