Cannot upload anything to iPhone 4

Recently obtained an iPhone 4 16Gb. On the computer I'm running Windows XP SP3 with iTunes v11.0.4.4. Did a complete reset of the phone, and it appears to be all ok.
I have created a ringtone I want to use, and it appears as a xxx.m4r file in the Tones folder within iTunes. I also put an mp3 music file in the Music folder. Whilst the iTunes software appears to sync with the iPhone, neither the music file nor the ringtone get transfered.
I have read through dozens of posts on similar issues but not found any answer to my problem.

I guess this must be a really horrendously difficult problem...
I have also now tried Windows 7 with iTunes v10 on a completely different computer - that's even worse! I've come across some pretty poor Windows software in my time but this takes the biscuit as the most unintuitive app I've ever seen.

Cannot upload photos from iPhone to iPhoto (NOT Camera Roll)

I just came back from vacation and stored all the photos I took with my digital camera on my iPhone so I could clear out the camera and continue using it. I have ovr 1,000 pics and videos combined on my iPhone that I cannot seem to import onto iPhoto. I have no problem uploading to iPhoto the pics from my iPhone that I take using my iPhone but cannot figure out how to get the other pictures off. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Also, if you stored them by syncing in iTunes, that was a bad idea. The pictures are downsized when they are synced to the phone, and all you can recover are low-res copies of the originals. The iPhone is NOT a good backup mechanism.
If for some reason you have no access to the computer where you originally downloaded the photos from the camera, there are third-party programs that will recover (low-res, downsized) photos from the phone. Google PhoneView or TouchCopy.

Cannot upload applications from iphone 3gs to itunes

starting from yesterday my new iphone wont sync applications with itunes correctly. It works this way
-It will sync applications bought from apple store from itunes to iphone
-it wil not sync applications bought from apples store from iphone to itunes
on other computer both mac and pc it will not upload purchased applications from iphone to itunes
Sync works well for videos, music, notes, bookmarks etc...
Upload for purchased application works well for videos, and music.
any idea how to solve this I need to back up my applications.

Cannot upload photos from iphone to iphoto

Since upgrading my Mac to OS Mavericks I have lost the facility of uploading photos from my iPhone to iPhoto.
I have iPhoto 8.1.2 and my phone runs iOS7 with iCloud.
Some advice has said refer to iPhoto Preferences and use the iCloud link there, but there is no iCloud link in my Preferences. I have tried to upgrade iPhoto, but discovered that it is only possible through iLife and I don't need all of that.
Any help would be appreciated.

I figured out the fix for the Mac users having this problem. I connected my iPhone to my iMac and started iTunes. A dialogue came up in iTunes, I OK'd that and then OK'd the usual "Do you trust this Mac" that comes up on my iPhone.
Suddenly Image Capture launched itself and there were all my photos, ready to be downloaded.

Cannot purchase anything on iPhone 5

I had a prepaid mastercard for $25, good for use anywhere that accepts mastercard. I entered it into my iTunes and over time, used it up. Now, whenever I want to update an app or purchase a new app (even if it's free and does not require any payment), it brings me to the billing page on the iTunes store and makes me select a billing method. Before I had entered the prepaid mastercard, I always selected 'none' and used an iTunes gift card instead of a credit card. This option is no longer there. iTunes appears to treat the prepaid credit card as a real credit card, and says there is a problem with it (but it is used up). I find this frustrating, as I cannot get a free app on my phone because I don't have a payment method. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

From the account screen you have to select "Edit" to the right of Payment Type
Then choose None.

To add photos to photo stream on your PC you first you have to set up iCloud on your computer and turn on my photo stream, as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html. Then you can add photos from your computer to photo stream as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2606.

this does not help. I have forgotten ALL of the answers to my security questions. I can NOT reset the answers to my security questions without answering two of the three security questions. The other way to reset the answers to these questions is for apple to send me an email on my rescue email addres which I DO NOT HAVE.

I got a new SSD and I cannot put anything onto my iPhone 4S through the SSD, but I can on my old HDD. How can I fix this issue?

So recently I purchased a 250g SSD for my new build, while still keeping my old 1TB HDD. Whenver I try to use iTunes (the latest), I cannot transfer ANYTHING onto my iPhone 4S. There is no "Add to" button, nor can I drag and drop. However, I can do both on my old HDD. I also own an iPad 4, which I can easily use on both drives. This is quite annoying because I have to restart my computer just to add music or videos, etc. I do not want to sync because I will lose all of my music, or whatever else it takes, and I do not want that.
So how can I enable file transferring on my new SSD?

Move the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer, or drives in this case.
iDevices are designed to only sync to one library (computer). Attempts to sync with a new library will require removing all media from the device and replacing with media from the new library.

Someone PLEASE help me! I cant figure out what is going on with my computer. I don't install anything weird, but my brother does. He's very good at computer tech stuff and is in I.T, but I cant help but blame him for all the problems my Mac is having. Nothing works like it should. My safari will randomally crash, my screen will randomally turn back, my iphoto will crash during uploading from my iPhone, I cant highlight anything, I can't drag anything. When I want to click on something, I have to click over and over again just for it to even register. I know everything is up to date and recently reset my PRAM. I'm running Lion and have a lot of room on my hardrive. I have an external harddrive and I'm wondering if I should just move all of my important files over to it and completly wipe out my computer's hardrive and start from scratch.

Some folks can't leave well enough alone, and insist on downloading all sorts of additional "stuff" that ends up making their Mac unstable.
Standard Mac OS X on properly-operating Hardware does not crash, unless you start installing too many add-ons.
You can run "just the basics" by holding down the Shift key at Startup. This does one pass of Disk Repair, then loads a minimal set of extensions, and comes up in Safe Mode. If it works OK that way, but crashes in "regular", it's the add-ons.
There ia another layer of add-on junk that can be added to Safari. If the only remaining problem is Safari crashing, those add-ons can be disabled as well.

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,

I'm pretty much tearing my hair out with this one, I don't know what to do - I simply cannot upload any photos from iPhone 4 to Macbook Pro.
This problem appeared out of the blue. I am trying to upload to iPhoto - not working. I have clearing the cache - not working. Tried the Dropbox app - not working and the option has now disappeared altogether. Tried Image Capture - not working. I went and had my iPhone replaced altogether - still not working. I thought it might be a problem with my iPhone or a problem with the back-ups or sometthing so I plugged in my boyfriend's to scope it out - still not working. I have restarted all devices many times. I have read through posts and posts about this and cannot find an answer.
iPhoto says: unreadable files - unrecognized format - not true!!
Image Capture just says there is an error importing.
Any help would be much appreciated - it's driving me mad!

Follow the 3R's- if a restart does not solve your problem proceed
User troubleshooting is:
1.restart, ie power off/on,
