Cannot upload authschemes.xml

Hi,
I am trying to modify the Portal login page. I have modified the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak file and re-uploaded it under a new name. I am now trying to modify the authschemes.xml file to point to the new par file. Using the configtool I clicked the "<b>Download</b>" button and modified the file locally. The problem is when I click the "<b>Upload</b>" button. I navigate to the file, click "<b>Open</b>" and nothing seems to happen. The file looks as though it remains the same. My changes do not display. I have saved it, logged out of the config tool and logged back in but I do not see the changes. Portal is deployed on a linux server so I'm not sure if maybe when trying to overwrite the file I do not have the proper permissions. Anybody have any ideas of what I may be doing wrong? Also is it possible to simply modify the authschemes.xml file directly on the server? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Ok, it was the file permissions/ownership. All set. File uploads correctly now.

Com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par information in Authschemes.xml

Hello Portal gurus,
I am trying to customize the Portal logon page by modifying the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file. I modified the par file. But after this change, I wanted to change the authschemes.xml file to reflect the par file changes.
When I downloaded the .xml file, I only found occurences of <b><frontendtarget>com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.certlogon</frontendtarget></b>, <b><frontendtarget>com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.basicauthentication</frontendtarget></b> and <b><frontendtarget>com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.header</frontendtarget></b>
Could anybody confirm, whether I have to rename these occurrences of com.sap.portal.runtime.logon with my customized logon .par file name between <frontendtarget> and </frontendtarget>?
Points will be awarded for correct answers and useful suggestions.

Here is the procedure
1. Start the Config Tool by executing <SAPJ2EEEngine_installation>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat.
2. Navigate to cluster_data>server>persistent>com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
3. Switch to edit mode by clicking on the pencil which is at the upper right area.
4. In the tree, select authschemes.xml and choose Download. Save the file to your local directory
5. Edit the local file: To select the new PAR file as the Logon page change the occurrence of all substrings com.sap.portal.runtime.logon to your
project/PAR file name. All com.sap.portal.runtime.logon should be substituted with something like com.company.portal.runtime.logon (or whatever you project name is). Dont remove the part behind it.
(These are the profiles in the portalapp.xml and have the names default, certlogon, basicauthentication, header, and anonymous).
6. Create a new node in the configuration tree in the Config-Tool for the edited file as follows:
a.Select the node com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
b. Choose the symbol for Creating a node below the selected node.
c. Select the type File-entry.
d. Choose Upload and select the custom file from your local directory.
e. Enter a name for the entry, for example, authschemes_myHR.xml. By default, the name of the uploaded file is used.
f. Choose Create.
g. Choose Close window.
h. The new node appears in the configuration tree.
i. Go to Global server configuration>services> com.sap.security.core.ume.service and edit the property login.authschemes.definition.file.
The value needs to be changed from authschemes.xml to authschemes_myHR.xml
j. Restart the Portal. That is often not done and the changes will not appear.

Authschemes.xml in EP6.0 SP13 Netweaver

Hi together,
after testing EP with EP6.0 SP02 we have installed EP 6.0 SP13 (Netweaver).
In the old installation I changed the authschemes.xml cause changing the logon screen.
Now in the new installation the folder-structure have changed. I did'nt found the authschemes.xml and the folder UME where this file was placed.
Have anybody an idea or an information that the concept of handling the logon screen have changed?

Hi Thomas & Amit,
The steps mentioned by you are correct but it is always recommended (by SAP) not to upload the the authscheme.xml with the same SAP name i.e. not to overwrite the the Standard SAP file.
Instead rename the authscheme.xml to a diff name say authscheme_thomas.xml, create a new sub-node at the same level and uplaod this new file there.
Then in the Config Tool,
In the tree, navigate to Global server configuration -> services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
Here list of UME properties appears.
Now search for the authscheme.xml entry property and there you will have to make you own entry.
This way if you have to restore standard SAP file, it will not be a problem.

The iXML Toolkit ( XML parser for ABAP ) can transform
the internal table into a DOM ( programmatic API for
manipulating XML documents ).
Alternatively,
the statement
CALL TRANSFORMATION ID
SOURCE XML itab
RESULT l_struc.
will transform your XML document
into a local ABAP structure l_struc.

Why cannot upload files to documents folder

Hi all,
I have EP7.0 and when i try to upload a file, it show me error:
"N01_BB_InstallGuide_EN_US.doc" does not exist, or file is empty; you cannot upload empty files.
Here N01_BB_InstallGuide_EN_US.doc is the file name, i tried several files, always get this error msg.

Summary
Symptom
The upload of a file into a KM repository fails. Sometimes the user gets the error message "<file> does not exist, or file is empty; you cannot upload empty files."
Reason and Prerequisites
Either the portal engine or the operating system on which the portal runs has troubles with writing into the directory that is defined as store for temporary data.
Solution
1. With the config tool of the engine, edit/add the following two entries to the server node java parameters:
Example:
-Djava.io.tmpdir=e:\EP_TEMP
-Dcm.tmpdir=e:\EP_TEMP
These must point to an existing and accessible directory on the server.
2. TEMP and TMP environment variables of operating system are to be set that they point to an existing and accessible directory.
In case of Microsoft Windows, go to Settings > Control Panel > System, then choose the tab "Advanced" and the button "Environment Variables". There you can edit/create the two variables.
Set them to the same directory that were selected for the engine parameters and especially make sure that none of the temp variables has a value with percentage characters ("%") or other placeholders but a particular directory.
Example: e:\EP_TEMP
Afterwards, give the user SAPService<SID> write-access rights to the selected temporary folder and restart the Windows machine

I cannot upload photos from iPhoto 9 to Flikr. When I try, I get the message "the login details or auth token passed were invalid." I am using iPhoto 9 version 8.1.2, and my OS is 10.9.5. My computer is a MacBook Pro. I do not have this trouble with my iMac. This trouble started before I updated to OS10.9.5. I do not have this problem when uploading to FaceBook or sending by e-mail.

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

I have applied SAP note 898637 but is still not working. We're using SAP EP 7.0 SP11.

We've put the Java paremeters in Configtool.bat :

-Dcm.tmpdir=c:/EP_TEMP
In Server/Instance. Folders: Message Server&BootStrap and in Servers General and in Instances/Server.

That's strange, I have the same version of iPhoto and have almost no trouble loading to Facebook. Sometimes though the attachment libraries that are old disappear for whatever reasons. It may be due to the fact that I change info in the names of some of the libraries once on Facebook. To avoid problems, I always ensure my web browser is closed when using iPhoto, and vice versa.

When I try to upload photos to a wordpress blog using Firefox an IO error occurs. I cannot upload and have to use Google Chrome

When I open Firefox and go to my wordpress web site to create a new blog, I cannot upload photos as an error message appears IO Error.

you just wanted to load the xml file into internal table (as a table of binary strings)or load the xml data mapped to itab row columns
for the first one you can simply use gui_upload
and for the second one you need to load the xml file using gui_upload and use XLST program to transform into an itab

Sorry. If they only said HTTP/HTTPS and didn't say explicitly web service, it means they don't want it.
One thing I'm not sure is, do you have an URL at the third-party system that you need to contact, or should you provide one at your SAP system that they will contact?

Upload any XML file to internal table

Hi,
I'm writing a FM to upload any XML file (Which means I don't know the structure) to a internal table.
I tried to use FM 'GUI_UPLOAD' and CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID'). But the problem is that, the RESULT tab of CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID') needs to define the structure of the table for the corresponding XML file, otherwise it will not work. For example, I want to get the result table like this:
CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID')
SOURCE XML xmlupl
RESULT tab = <tab>.
Then it will give me a run time error 'CX_XSLT_FORMAT_ERROR' because I didn't give a specific structure for <tab>.
Any solution for my situation?

Where is your XLST file for the call transformation ID
From ABAP to XML you can do it as dynamic, but XML to ABAP you need a XLST to convert.
