  • I think I figured out the problem uploading iMovies to YouTube.

When using an iPhone, iPod, or iPad to record video, YouTube basically treats it like any mobile to social networking post--you hit share, choose YouTube, and that's it whether you're loading from the Camera Roll or iMovie.  But if you shoot with something other than a mobile device's camera and have difficulty uploading to YouTube it seems the problem isn't Apple, but rather a simple change you need to make to your YouTube account.
Simply: Add a Channel  That's it, the whole solution.
Now the only thing you need to be aware of is, despite the fact that your Apple device with Retina display can play video in greater than 1080p, YouTube doesn't recognize any mobile device's ability to do this.  So if you upload a video in 1080p, it will only be viewable via YouTube on a desktop computer.  720p however is just fine.
So if you shot your video in 1080p, but you want it to be viewable on mobile devices using YouTube, go into iMovie and upload the video in 720p.
That's it.  Please feel free to shoot down my theory and make your own suggestions.

    Hi,
I am trying to display an RSS feed on my website as well. I
    haven't figured it out.
    Can you help?

in IE problem is not! But i somehow can't login to this service
with IE I had. Now I'm trying to download newer version and will be

in Fedora (if You Adobe support it - have no idea of this!)
Not only I have this problem. I try on some polish forums and
users write they are experiencing sample problems.
My YouTube problem isn't with uploading (once I tried I felt

can't remember what happen in a day, when it started but I fell it
takes too long to be a problem with YouTube.
    People say it's Flash.

  • How do I convert an iMovie file to an mp4 so I can upload it to YouTube?

I just created my first iMovie in the latest version and I need to upload it to Youtube.  When I try to do that, it gives me the message that it is not in a supported file... I need to convert it to an mp4 or something similar.   I am totally new to the latest version of iMovie and cannot figure out how to convert my file.  Any help would be appreciated.  I watched a tutorial on YouTube and when the guy shared his iMovie to a file on his desktop, it automatically transferred as an mp4 file.  Mine is a TS folder?   Help!

iMovie will not have created a video file with the .ts extension.  To share your iMovie 10 project to Youtube you should not have to do any conversion - just follow the instructions at:
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#move0470816c
(If you share to file it will create a .mp4 file which you could then upload to YouTube but the instructions above shares direct to YouTube).
    Geoff.

  • I made an iMovie, 6.0.3 using music from iTunes and photos from the Internet. It looked fine on iMovie, but when I uploaded it to youtube, some of the photo near the beginning was corrupted. What steps should I take to export iMovie for youtube?

I made an iMovie, 6.0.3 using music from iTunes and photos from the Internet. It looked fine on iMovie, but when I uploaded it to youtube, some of the photo near the beginning were corrupted on youtube. I tried a different photo, and the corruption took place at the same moment of the video. How do I prepare the video for export to get it ready for youtube? I wasn't sure whether to clik web or web streaming. Am I supposed to clik Quick Time after I clik Share?

I unfortunately cannot remember where I got the 'trrndlines' plugin... I assume that it must have been from CFX (as it is located under /Users/Dom/Library/iMovie/Plug-ins/cfx/XXXtrrndlines.bundle).
As for what it does, I also do not know, as I do not think I ever used it in my previous video projects.
At this stage, I think I just need to uninstall it so that iMovie doesnt try to use it.
Do you know how to uninstall a CFX plugin in iMovie?
NOTE: I have re-installed iMovie 6.0.4 (instead of iMovie 6.0.3), but still encounter the same issue.

  • How come, when I upload a home video from iMovie to YouTube, the uploaded video is not iPad/iPhone supported?????

I connected a couple of home video clips from my iPhone in iMovie and then uploaded it to YouTube so that I could share the link with family. When the upload is complete, the video says that it is no in iPhone format and cannot be viewed? Whats up with that crap? Is there something I can do about it?

You tube converts the video to multiple formats when you upload.
Sometimes it takes a while for the video to be viewable.
And sometimes you tube converts to other formats before it makes ios versions.
Just wait a few hours and try again.
It will become viewable in time.
If it does not then you would be better to contact google.
You tube is theirs, and issues need to be told to them.

  • I cannot uploade to Youtube anymore.. What to do??

    Hi
I have some problems. I cannot uploade my videos to YouTube anymore.
I have barely started making videos and now it seems that I cannot uploade anymore, and I don't know what to do..
I have only made videos in the past couple of months, and my movie-libirary only consists of four videos.
I have recorded nearly two hours worth of film (119 to be specific).
When I want to uploade, the programs 'does uploade', but after a few minutes, which it takes to uploade, nothing happens. Not even on Youtube
I hope someone can help me solve this issue

    Hi Natalia,
I'm not sure which iPhone you have, but the iPhone 4 shoots 720p video, while the 4S and iPhone 5 shoot 1080p. I have the iPhone 4S and am very pleased with the overall quality. However, I don't think I've uploaded any iPhone clips to YouTube, so don't really have a point of comparison. Most of my videos are shot with a dedicated camcorder (Sony HDR-SR7).
When importing your clips to iMovie (I guess you are using iMovie '11), use the Full Quality setting - not Large as this will reduce the resolution to 960 x 540 (720p is 1280 x 720; 1080p is 1920 x 1080). Export as either HD 720p or HD 1080p, depending on the size you imported as (if on iPhone 4 it will be 720p; for iPhone 4S or 5 - 1080p). Upload this movie to YouTube using YouTube's uploader (as discussed previously).
When viewing your movie in YouTube, set the viewer to HD. You will see some degradation in quality if you view in the standard setting.
One other point. If you are using a third party app for shooting video on your iPhone, make sure you've selected a HD setting. Some camera/video apps allow you to choose a setting for resolution. The standard Apple camera app doesn't provide a choice, however.
I generally use the iPhone app "Filmic Pro" for video, as it allows me to shoot at 25 frames per second (25 FPS), as well as others, and has several choices for resolution (for example, 960 x 540, 1280 x 720 and 1920 x 1080). Most video apps and digital still cameras use 30 FPS (which is the NTSC standard) but as I'm in PAL country I prefer to use a consistent frame rate of 25 FPS, given that my main camcorder uses that frame rate. It produces a better result when editing clips from both sources in a single project in iMovie '11. iMovie can handle mixed frame rates, but it can cause slightly jerky playback in fast motion segments when one rate is converted to match the other.

The Deskjet series printers connect to wireless networks with what is called USB to Wireless.
You will need a supported operating system to connect a Deskjet to a wireless network.  Supported operating systems to connect the printer to a wireless network are Windows 7 (32bit and 64bit), Windows Vista (32bit and 64bit), and Mac OS X (10.5, 10.6, and 10.7).
While there is a software download option for Linux distributions, this is not the full featured software that is capable of adding the printer to a wireless network.  Most printers have a wireless setup wizard to accomplish this task, but the Deskjet series printers connect in a different way.
Once the printer is connected to a wireless network,  HPLIP 3.12.4 drivers should be able to locate the printer.
Click on Installing the Product Software for a Wireless Network Connection to receive instructions to connect to a wireless network using Windows and Mac operating systems.
Click on Software & Driver Downloads - HP Deskjet 3070A e-All-in-One Printer - B611a to download the appropriate software for a supported operating system to connect to a wireless network.

  • Distorted Audio- iMovie to Youtube Upload

I uploaded my video from iMovie to youtube (using the following http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1696878)
However, the audio is distorted when I try to play it on youtube (even though it is not distorted on iMovie).
I have uploaded it a number of times, but every time the audio is distorted
    Any suggestions?

Hey would you mind expanding on how you used/created an ACC version of your audio? Was it through an Imovie to Quicktime movie export as this link below describes? I've also copied and pasted the instructions indented in quotations. The solution provider in that forum tells how to export the movie to quicktime with special ACC etc settings and claims that it resolves the issue but my Imovie ('11,  version 9.0.9) won't go through the export...I've tried at least 5  times...it starts and says it's going to take about 30 minutes and works  for about 10, often as the clock goes up instead of counting down and  then the window disappears and nothing has been exported....  I'd love  to resolve this issue...it has only been happening to me since I figured  out how to ask the audio to duck other tracks and tweak equalizer  settings so it's gotta be something to do with the fact that either the  equalizer settings confuse youtube it the .mov format it exports in on  default settings (without the ACC tweak which I haven't found a way to  do yet)...any new guidance? Trying to get this done yesterday!! I've also sent a personal msg to the person who said they solved the issue in that forum to see if I can get any more specific guidance...seems like a signifcant amount of people have been having this issue! Heeeelp pleeeez!  http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/bs8mgyVMSEU
"Try saving the file as a QuickTime movie on your desktop and uploading it from there. Use Share > Export using QuickTime > Movie to QuickTime Movie  > Options to get movie settings box. Use video Compression H.264 Quality medium or High and Sound AAC 44.100kHz, and I use bit rate 192kbps. That should upload from your desktop with no problems."

  • IMovie and Youtube: Sharing directly vs. Uploading later?

    Hello!
I'm starting to use iMovie and Youtube for my home movies.
Do you know if there are any differences in video quality between:
    sharing directly from iMovie on Youtube, and;
sharing as a file on the desktop (ProRes) which is uploaded later to Youtube?
    Thank you. :-)

afaik, the YT-preset is an excellent compromise of quality vs size.
You'll notice, a proRes (your iM craetes proRes??)  export is 20x - 40x 'bigger' => asks for some bandwidth in your internet connection...
    And is it 'better'?
I dare to say: theoretically for sure, but practical, noticeable? No.
Most consumer devices compress internally 4:2:0, using interframe codecs, ... and who cares about ISO/gain, bit-rates, dynamics etc etc when your camera has easy to use auto-modes ?
What I want to say: when the source is allready 'compressed to death', why caring about the last .5% of 'quality' diff. upload strategies can result in?
Make a test! There're three reallife scenarios, which makes any encoder to cry to its limits:
Gradients - record the sky in the golden/blue hour ... look out for banding
Movements - record a tiny creek with some whirls … look out for 'blocks'
Darkness - the h.264 (=AVCHD/mts/most .mov…) codecs weak point, look for 'blocks' and/or 'color spots' aka artifacts …
If you manage to create locally a video WITHOUT these failures, upload to YT; wait, until YT offers the HDef versions of your video, compare with your local version....

  • I edited a movie on iMovie but when i try to upload it to youtube only half the video shows ( its only 3 minutes long) does it need converted? help?????

i edited a movie on iMovie but when i try to upload it to youtube only half the video shows ( its only 3 minutes long) does it need converted? help?????

I have the same issue.  If you are exporting from iMovie version 10.0.1, I run into the same issues if I export directly to YouTube or if I export to file then upload to YouTube.
Google's help file doesn't properly address this problem and thier help is also out of date.  In talking to a support rep at Apple, they said the export to YouTube should just work or the exporting to a file then uploading otherwise it's an issue for Google support.
If someone can post a solution that works (is a streamable format - which is different than the format that YouTube accepts as it will accept many formats but take a long time to process them), I'd be interested to hear also.
    Thanks,
    Rob.

  • I am trying to upload an imovie to youtube. it says project too large but i have permission for larger projects. Help and thanks.

I am trying to upload an imovie to youtube. It keeps saying "project too large" even though I have permission from youtube for over 15 minutes. Please help. Thanks.

share the video via a quicktime movie in whatever format you want to use, I usually create an mp4.  Once you that video is set (I usually save to my desktop) go ahead and upload from YouTube rather than going direct from iMovie.  I suspect you will not have the same size issue.

  • When I try to upload an iMovie to YouTube as I've successfully been able to in the past. I get a message that keeps saying that I need to sign in to YouTube when I am already.

I'm sorry!   This is my 1st post to the support community and I put my problem in the topic bar!  When I try uploading an iMovie to YouTube I keep getting a message to sign into YouTube when I am already!!  I've done this in the past with no problem...including as recent as in December.  Hope you can help ... Need for my students ASAP.

Do you have the YouTube app loaded on your iPad?  Are you signed in there (in that app)?
