Cannot use Adobe Reader "Mail" button to send via Yahoo mail.

When trying to use the "mail" button in Adobe Reader (or do File -> Send File...) to send the file via Yahoo e-mail, I get the following error:
"An unknown error occurred while uploading the attachment."
Adobe Reader 11.0.10 for Windows.
Getting this error only on Yahoo e-mail accounts
Getting this on multiple Yahoo accounts on multiple PC's.
All PC's have current versions of Reader (11.0.10), all Windows 7/IE11 with current patches.
A client of ours was using this until last week, when it stopped working.
It is not working on any PC right now with Yahoo mail.

Hi johnc46494667,
Please let me know whether you are getting this error since an Adobe Reader update.
Are you signed out of other accounts (except yahoo)?
Does this happen with every PDF file or any particular one?
Hope to hear from you.
Regards,
Anubha

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser.  Reader will now exit.  Please exit your browser and try again" in Windows 7 x32 and Windows 7 x64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This happens when trying to open  a PDF file in Internet explorer 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first then the pdf files open as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader with no difference in the outcome.  Since this happens on two different computers one fresh copy of windows 7 x64 the other an upgrade to windows 7 x32 and they used to work before the change to windows 7, I assume there is some kind of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known issue and will it be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

tvandersluijs - I'm sorry if that screwed up your machine however:
    1. What version of Adobe Reader are you using because as you can see the registry entry is for Adobe Reader 9, if ur using Adobe Reader 8 then u need to specify ur version as PAllens entry suggested - "E.g. "C:\Program files\Adobe\Acrobat [version]\Reader\AcroRd32.exe""
    2. I've used this solution significantly because I have come across this specific issue for multiple users.
    3. All the registry entry does is tell Windows what program to use by default to open/view PDF documents.
My intention wasn't to screw up ur machine or anybody elses as I said I've used this solution many times however what I've should gave is the disclaimer to backup ur registry before u make mods so u can revert back in case. Also the ony other thing I can think of is that this solution was for Windows XP using registry editior 5, I'm noticing that the title of this thread is Windows 7.

  • Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in web browser error

I have a new computer and have Acrobat Pro installed.  When I try to click on PDF links in browsers, I get an error:
Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in web browser.
I want to be able to open these links using Acrobat Pro.  What can I do in Internet Explorer so I don't always receive these errors, and so pdfs automatically open using Acrobat Pro?
    Steve

Because it was not designed for Windows 7 doesn't mean it cant run.
If you install the applications as administrator, you shouldn't have problems. I have installed both Reader and Pro versions on Windows 7 32 and 64 bit without problems, as long as I did it as administrator. You right click on the setup and select Run as Administrator. You don't need to do it for updates if you go through the update option on the help panel.

  • I cannot use Adobe Reader to open PDFs in protected webpages

    Hello,
I just downloaded the application Adobe Reader in my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.0.2). My problem started when I tried to open my school BlackBoard Learning system (Safari showes a thumbnail of a lock in the top bar meaning page has some security constrains) and then I wanted to access some PDF material. Unfortunately, I couldn't open it through the application. The bar that should appear once a page with PDF is opened did not appear!(The one that says 'Open in ') I really need a solution for this since most of the content there is in the form of PDF file.
    Thank you in advance.

You could try going to an Apple store to ask them about this.
It's important to note that there are no browser plugins in Safari, so until the "open in" button is touched, only Safari is involved and the opening App does not have a chance to see the file until after the file is downloaded and handed off. If the bar isn't showing up in Safari, it could be one of two things:
    1) A bug in Safari
    2) The website may not be returning pdf content correctly (or at all). Some websites try to detect the presence of a browser plugin before sending a PDF. Since there are no plugins to Safari, this detection would fail on mobile browsers. In this case, the website owner should update the service to serve PDF's to mobile browsers.

  • Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in your web browser ...

    Hi,
Why am I receiving this message?
    Windows XP Professional SP3
    Reader 8.1.2
    Firefox 3
I think it only happens the first time, when the AcroRd32.exe process is not running. After clicking OK, the PDF loads in the browser anyway.
    Glen.

A look over of some Adobe TechNotes may be helpful re: Window 7 and Adobe applications.
In general - Installing and using Windows 7 with Adobe applications.
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/508/cpsid_50853.html For Adobe product operating system compatibility.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/OScompatibility.html For Adobe Acrobat products.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/faq/
"Do Adobe Acrobat 9 and Adobe Reader 9 require updates to be compatible with Windows 7?"
This states that Acrobat 9.2 and Adobe Reader 9.2 are required for compatibility with Windows 7.
Look over "What about older versions of Acrobat and Windows 7" for upgrade information.
Keep in mind that the browser add-in that interfaces with Reader / Acrobat is placed when the Adobe application is installed.
So it too is bounded by the Reader / Acrobat version's compatibility with a given OS.
In short, if running Windows 7 & if Acrobat 9.2 and Adobe Reader 9.2 or better is not installed you can expect to encounter "issues".
Some may be addressed by work arounds.
    Be well..

  • CANNOT USE ADOBE READER

I downladed the latest version of the free Adobe Reader. However, I am unable to downlad any PDF documents from any websites. What can I do?

    Hi ,
If you are unable to download a file then it has nothing to do with Adobe Reader . After downloading , if you are unable to view or open the file , then it is an issue with Adobe Reader.
Please check in your downloads folder , if the file is downloaded or not .
Try changing your browser to download the file properly first.

  • I cannot use the top level of tabs on my yahoo mail with a Flash Player add on

yahoo mail has updated their home page. The top line of tabs: contacts etc does not work. The curser does not change to a hand. The email inbox seems to work OK. If I uninstall a Flash Player add- on, the yahoo mail works normally. This Flash Player add- on was recently installed to enable me to view some videos. Do I really need that Flash Player add-on?

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Can't send via Yahoo Mail

My wife has a Yahoo mail account. She can read her e-mail, but when she sends e-mails, they seem to vanish (i.e., not reach their destination), despite the fact that she never gets an error message.
After looking on these boards, one proposed solution was to delete the account and re-create it. I did that for her, and it fixed the problem, but now it's five days later and the problem has returned.
Has Apple or Yahoo acknowledged anything about this issue? The problem is serious enough where she's contemplating switching to GMail.
    Thanks.

It's a known issue with Yahoo email in these forums, as is the sad push email performance. It's been with us since the iPhone was released... I'm hopeful it'll be fixed before my 2 year AT&T contract is up
Nothing official from Apple in the way of an acknowledgment, not their style it appears.
I've logged the issue using all official channels (Tech Support, the Feedback form, etc.) and all appear to be black holes. Here's hoping the next firmware rev will address the issue, and if the fault is with Yahoo rather than Apple's client code it would be great to see Yahoo plug the hole.
Short term workaround is to always check your sent email folder after sending... if the message isn't there, it was dropped somewhere... reset the iPhone and try again. Seems to temporarily resolve the issue for me.

  • Cannot use Adobe to view pdf in your web browser

Running Acrobat Standard 8 on a Windows 7 machine with 4 gig of memory.  Upon installing Acrobat 8 on Windows 7 I get a pop-up window everytime I try to open a pdf in a web browser.  Using IE8 and FF 3.5 both give me the same error.
"Cannot use Adobe Reader to view pdf in your web browser.  Reader will now exit.  Please exit your browser and try again. (attached)"
    Thanks in advance
    Darrell

I'm having the exact same problem. After clicking OK on the dialogue the pdf file loads just fine.
Checked the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe key - Acrobat is pointing to the right place. There are no references to acrord32.exe in the registry at all.
I've removed, reinstalled and installed all the latest patches, but nothing seems to help.

  • Cannot send PDF file using adobe reader XI

    Hi,

I confirm outlook is configured as default mail program

  • Please help!!!!!! i filled out a job application using adobe reader but i cannot send the file back via email because the file is protected with a lock. how do i unlock this file to send it?!!!!!!!!!

please help!!!!!! i filled out a job application using adobe reader but i cannot send the file back via email because the file is protected with a lock. how do i unlock this file to send it?!!!!!!!!!

    Hi kevinv1987,
It doesn't sound like the PDF was password protected (or Adobe Reader would prompt you for a password). Instead, it sounds like that file may be marked locked by your operating system. Are you on Mac OS or Windows? In either case, here are instructions for removing the lock icon from the file:
Remove the Lock Icon from a Folder in Windows 7 (check Microsoft's website if you have a different version of Windows)
On Mac OS, select the file in the Finder, and choose File > Get Info. Then, just deselect the Lock checkbox.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation (the older model) and the highest operating system stops at iOS 6.1.6. Unfortunately, when I tried to download Adobe Reader app, it only works for the newer IPod Touch 5th Generation with an operating system of iOS 7.0 or higher. My question is that since I cannot download Adobe Reader app, is there a way for me to open PDF files on my IPod Touch by using Safari? There is no way I can find an Adobe Reader app that works for my operating system or an operating system that works for iOS 6.0 or lower. Is there another program similar to Adobe Reader where I can open PDF files that works for iOS 6.0 or lower?
    Thanks.

    Krispy2010,
Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store.  Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.
Tech specs | Adobe Reader mobile app
However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned.  It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.
