Cannot use Firefox to make web purchase on some sites?

Web site, < https://shop.pingelonline.com/iwwieb.pvx?;sc_step1_submit>, indicates FireFox Browser will not work to process a purchase. I had a problem with My Web Search which I hope has been cleared and I don't know if the issue with the web site is real or if it is some interaction caused by the My Web Search experience. I am building two sites currently using iWeb. It is relatively easy to use but can feel restrictive. With a bit of perseverance and no coding though you can more or less get what you want.
I export photos from Aperture to iPhoto from where the upload is easy.
Navigation could be better.
Security could be better but the look is acceptable for me at this stage.
Another alternative is Squarespace. Easy to use, lots of options but the cost escalates quickly.

I need to download a version of Firefox that is optimized for Yahoo! but I cannot use Firefox 4 for Yahoo! because it doesn't support Norton 360 as of yet. Any suggestions?

If you do have any suggestions, where can I find it? The only place I know of is the http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html web site and you can only get version 3.6.16 there and it's NOT optimized for Yahoo!. Please help!
Yahoo! keeps sending me the following message in a box on my screen along with the links to Firefox 4 and IE : Attention: Please upgrade to the latest Yahoo! optimized browser to ensure the best Yahoo! experience. But, as I stated in the question above, I cannot use Firefox 4 yet because it does NOT support Norton 360. Plus, I don't trust IE8 to use Facebook!

Java does not work on my Win 7 IBM-compatible PC using Firefox as my web browser

A typical example of a website I would like to access & view is "www'cut-the-knot.org", a relatively mathematics-related website with a lot a very nice math content, where (roughly estimating) 70-90% of all web pages on the web site use Java applets to communicate that math content.
I CANNOT view the Java applets (am restricted/prevented from doing so) --- on CTK or ANY other website!.
I could go into all the details but, essentially, I have tried just about everything I can think of (or have found to do/try in discussions on the Internet by googling the problem) & nothing seems to have had any positive affect ... I can still not view ANY Java applets on ANY website! :-(
I USED to be able to view Java content on the PC I was working on, although, a few months ago, I migrated from Win XP to Win 7 when MS stopped supported Win XP. I don't know when things changed but, "while I wasn't looking" (&/or paying attention) something DID change. :-(

Knowing WHAT the problem is is a high priority to me, certainly as well as understanding HOW TO FIX the problem, & WHEN that fix will occur.
Java is a seemingly wonderful technology but, if there are such severe security risks that require it be enabled so that no one (I'll assume I'm not the only one unable to view Java applets) can use it, it doesn't have much value to visitors to websites that employ Java to deliver a majority of their content. Part of the problem, obviously, is that (like CTK) MANY websites ALREADY use/employ Java --- & therefore, end-users have almost no access to the content in/on those websites.

Are you using a bookmark or does this also happen if you type the address of the main (home) page of the website?
Bookmarked pages can become invalid, so you may have to enter the main page and then navigate to the wanted page.
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. When I installed firefox, it asked if I wanted to use safari settings and I said yes but I think this might be causing the problem. Safari is no longer compatible with citrix ica client. When I reinstalled firefox it automatically installs the safari info. Does anyone know how to re-install firfox without installing safari info?

Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.

It's not clear what you mean. Do you mean you can't place a call to anyone outside of Shangai? That would be an issue with the calling plan you have with your carrier. Contact them. Likewise, if you can not place a call when you are outside your coverage area, that is also a carrier issue. If you are trying to use a different carrier while travelling, it's possible your phone is carrier locked and you can not use the carrier you are trying to use.

Slow web browsing on some sites / Gmail not working at all!!

Hi, I re-installed OSX on my Intel Mac Mini this week and ever since i cannot get gmail to open at all and some sites are running very slow (including this one i am on right now). But yet my windows laptop (i am using now as i have not got much patience) works fine and gets gmail no problem. The laptop is connected to the same router as my mac.
I am fully updated with OSX, i use Firefox as my primary browser but have also tested in Safari with the same results. I cannot figure it out at all - anyone have any ideas?

Cheers for your help but no joy, put the DNS in as above and nothing changed. I did however try to connect my mac via Airport and that works fine!! weird, so the issue only affects browsing when connected to my cisco router via ethernet! need to do some digging, cheers for replying anyway.

However, because of the large number of Android devices (phones and tablets), not all new devices could be tested yet, but the list will continue to be updated.
I am not sure if I understand correctly your issue. When typing something in url bar, you will have at least 4 default search engines (Google, Wikipedia, Amazon, Twitter), so you can choose any of them.
