I am using latest Skype app with Windows 8. I bought Office 365, it was advertised that I have right to use 60 free minutes per month to make Skype-to-phone calls. I did everything according instructions: I activated my Skype minutes and I signed in with my Microsoft account. I can see "1 active subscription" message but when I tried to place call I got message "Call ended. You need Skype credits to call this phone". I checked country I tried to call (Canada) - it is in list of allowed 40 countries.. Any suggestions?

This will change with iOS 6 to be released this fall which will include the option to FaceTime when connected to your carrier's 3G network which will use your data allowance when doing so. Not when connected to an available wi-fi network.

you can do the following to transfer your Tiger addressbookdata file to Leopard if none of your other countermeasures are working.
Create a new folder and give it a name such as TigertoLeopard data or whatever;
then drag your Tiger addressbook data file into that folder;
add .abbu to the end of the name you gave that new folder;
remember where you placed the folder and use Leopard Mail import command.

Look on the bottom of the AirPort Extreme for the Model Number. It's A....... something.

after (successfully) updating from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2, the System Preferences.app cannot be started. Either the application does not start (a silent error) or there is a message "You cannot use the application "System preferences.app" with this version of MacOS X." The version is 10.5.2, according to "About this Mac", while the application version is 3.5. The same happens when I attempt to open "Time machine preferences" using the new menu/icon on the bar.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, I did that, but it didn't solve the problem.
By the way, the application version (of System preferences.app) remained the same (old one). Then I removed the application to Trash (meaning to restore it later if required) and applied the update again (and a third time), but then a new System preferences.app was not installed and the older one has disappeared from the trash! What a mess this update turns out to be...

If the 'Change registered device' option is greyed out, this means that you have changed either your PC or mobile within the specified 90 days. If the application has been installed but the application updates have not been accepted, download the latest version to be sure that it is compatible with Comes With Music.

Can I connect my Click Free portable hard drive backup to my Intel IMac running Lion, and use time machine and not the Click Free backup software? I'm guessing I might have to erase the software from the ClickFree drive. This ClickFree hard drive is for Mac as well as Windows.

Then it is likely formatted as FAT32 and can not be used with TM until reformatted to HFS+.
It should work after reformatting, use disk utility to erase the drive and set the format as MAC OSX Extended (journaled)

Did you already try to reset the iPad by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

Cannot use DSL for wireless & phone simultaneously with Airport Express

Hello, I've just moved and switched to DSL from cable modem.
SBC DSL
One phone jack with the supplied filter on it allowing connection to the phone and supplied wired router
They provided a CD that configured the connection for me. In their ethernet connection it is not PPOE. Just DHCP. When I connect the laptop directly to the router via ethernet, I am able to surf and talk on the phone. When i connect the router to the Airport express and connect wirelessly, I can use either the phone or the internet. When I make a phone call the wireless drops.
Does anyone have any idea as to why this happens?

It's a 2.4 GHz phone
This is likely your problem.
2.4GHz phones are notorious for interfering with WiFi networks, as they share the same frequency range.
This is a very common problem.
I would suggest switching to a 900Mhz, or a 5.8GHz cordless phone.

On certain websites, I cannot use instant messenger. It comes up as a "connection error". If I use IE8, I do not have this problem... I have the latest Java and Adobe Flash player downloads... what gives?

I'm not clear what you mean by "downloaded my wacom tablet"? Do you have a Wacom tablet? Software for it would be on the Wacom website, not in the Mac App Store (although I know that there are apps in the MAS that could use the tablet).

Cannot use Outlook2010 to connect to Gmail with Verizon ISP

I have a laptop that works just fine using Outlook2010 to connect to my Gmail POP3 account from multiple locations except my home where Verizon is my ISP. I read several threads that Verizon blocks certain ports. However, I use a SSL connection with incoming port 995 and outgoing port 465. Neither of these was mentioned in the threads as being blocked.
Called Verizon tech support, which was hopeless. The tech claims they only help with Verizon email. He sent me to the Verizon premium service, which just wanted to sign me up for a monthly support contract. The "tech" claims Verizon does not block any ports and that the problem is on my end.
I am ready to drop Verizon as my ISP. Any ideas how to fix this?

Welcome to the forums. This is a place where customers help each other. If you want a response from Verizon, you'll need to contact them using the options provided by the "contact us" link at the bottom of these pages.
I've never heard of Verizon blocking any ports except maybe outbound SMTP to non-Verizon servers on un-protected port 25.
I uses gmail's IMAP server over FiOS without any problems. I'm using Thuderbird with port 993 (SSL/TLS) for IMAP and 465 (SSL/TLS) for SMTP.
Are you using Windows? It can be setup to have different security and firewall settings for different connections. That might be an issue. While unlikely, you could have an odd setting in your router. And of course, it could be a Outlook configuration issue.
If you post more details, some of us here might be able to offer more specific suggestions.
