Cannot use Synaptics touch pad on my Qosmio G50

Hi there
Have been using a wireless mouse for some time and while in the middle of doing some work the battery went low so I went to use the touch pad and found it did not respond?
I have downloaded all new drivers but still no go. When I press FN and F9 together there is no response. I unplugged the laser mouse from my Qosmio. Restarted but still no go....
Any help would be appreciated....
Cheers

went into device manager and found in the mice and other pointing devices that it is there. it says synaptics PS/2 port touch pad .and it is enabled !!! but it is still not working ? today i uninstalled the synaptics driver, turned off, turned back on, went to synaptics main site. downloaded the driver and still not working ? tried turning it on with f9 and fn but they are not working also ???

  • Equium A200-15i: I cannot use the touch pad - no response

I cannot use the touch pad in my equium A200-15i.
When I touch the pad, there is no response at all.
Please help me to solve it.
I have tried to uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, but problem still exists.

    Hi
Did you check if the touchpad is enabled correctly???
Using the key combination FN+F9 you can disable and enable the touchpad functionality!
Please check this function if you have not disabled the touchpad accidentally!
Last but not least I would recommend checking the touchpad settings in the control panel mouse -> Advanced -> Advanced feature settings.
There you will find different options which can be configured to use all the available touchpad features.
    Best regards

Here is the procedure I used > http://www.mactipper.com/2009/07/switch-tabs-in-firefox-with-three.html but it did not work. Go ahead and try it and see if it works for you. Then reply to me thanks

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Full keyboard access is useful for people who have difficulty using a mouse. Safari supports standard full keyboard access shortcuts for buttons and menus. If you choose, you can also use the keyboard to highlight links in webpages.
To turn on full keyboard access:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Keyboard & Mouse.
    Click Keyboard Shortcuts.
Select the checkbox to turn on full keyboard access.
To highlight links in webpages using the Tab key:
Choose Safari > Preferences and click Advanced.
Select the option to highlight each item on the web page using the Tab key.
With full keyboard access turned on, Safari uses the standard shortcut keys to access menus and windows, plus the additional shortcuts shown in the table.
    Hope this helps!!

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how the TouchPad on your notebook computer is not working properly, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To correct the function of the TouchPad, I recommend following this document on Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 8). This should help with adjusting sensitivity and configuring the TouchPad to your liking. You can also update the Synaptics drivers for the TouchPad by following this resource on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8).

  • How can I scroll thru mail inbox using my touch pad with Yosemite, I  was able to use my touch pad to scroll mail before

I can not use my touch pad to roll down my mail box or within a individual mail item. I was able before yosemite?
My touch pad works for all other apps,

I think I am having the same problem.  I am using a macbook pro 15 and this morning it received an OSX update, it is now on 10.10.2.  I use Office365 email for work and suddenly I can't use 2-finger scrolling over my inbox list.  I can scroll through the email body and there is no problem with gmail inbox.
this is a real pain, when i attempt to scroll it attempts to scroll the whole web page, it doesn't seem to recognise that my mouse pointer is over the list of emails of my inbox.
i hope apple know about this and can fix it.

  • If my iPhone 3GS turns on but cannot use the touch screen, could the Processor be the problem?

I recently dropped my iPhone 3GS but cannot use the touch screen. I took to a local repair shop and they tried replacing the digitizer and some other items but still could not get it to work. They advised that the Processor could be the problem. Is this true? If so, can the processor be replaced without losing data? Additionally, my phone has a lock code and when I try to connect it to my desktop to back up, it states that I need to enter my 4 digit pin first, which of course I cannot. Any workarounds here or am I SOL?

Hook the phone to a computer running iTunes and backup to the computer. Copy pictures off the phone manually to the computer.

  • I just upgraded to 9.0.1 and when I use my touch pad to scroll down or up a page the page jumps to another tab. How do I remove 9.0.1?

I am using a MacBookPro, OS X 10.7.2. I am unable to use the touch pad to scroll without having the page jump to another tab. This is annoying and the only way I can navigate any more is to use the scroll bar on the right side of the page. I would like to remove the most recent upgrade, any ideas on how I can do that?

When you upgraded, itunes should have put a copy of the itunes library database in a folder named *Previous iTunes Libraries* . If you upgraded itunes today it will show as
    iTunes Library 2010-02-28.itl
Use these directions to get it back
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1967
Since I am not sure of your setup, look for the "Previous" folder on both your C: and F: drives.

  • Using the touch pad on my new pavilion dv7-6b50ea

hi, can anyone tell me how the touch pad switches on and off,and if it is possible to scoll using the touch pad on my new pavilion dv7-6b50ea

Did you try '''Ctrl'''+'''0''' (zero) to reset the zoom.
You did that with by holding the control key and scrolling on the right edit of the pad, which is equivalent to Ctrl+scrollwheel on the mouse.
Ctrl+0 to restore zoom to normal (Ctrl+- zooms out, Ctrl++ zooms in )
The problem with the Zoom toolbar buttons (+ and -) builtin to Firefox 4 is that there is no way to zoom directly to normal (100%) nor even tell what zoom level you are at.
For more control over zooming things see these [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox.htm#zoom zoom links]
To set the zoom permanently on a per site basis, try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/ NoSquint] extension, which optionally remembers on a per site basis.

  • [SOLVED] synaptics touch pad

so i got an EeePC 900A last night for my bday, aside from the problems i had getting started, trying out the factory install that didn't work at all, i'm loving. anyway, i got arch installed on it last night. and used the Xorg -config to generate a xorg.conf that worked flawless it seemed.
the problem i had with the configuration, is everytime i'm moving the cursor and i run out of space on the touch pad, i life my finger, and put it back down, and the cursor location resets itself or something. so i tried taking the touch pad sections of the xorg configs posted on the wiki for the EeePC's and i'm still getting the same thing
i'm guessing this is normal behaviour for it anyway? and i'm sure there's a setting to change that, i just don't know what it is

if you mean xf86-video-intel, then yes, thats installed and working
as for xf86-input-synaptics, no, i only installed synaptics which is what was said to install on the EEE 901. the 700 series EEE install guide listed the xf86 package, i figured that was older being as the article is for the 700's....was i wrong to assume that?
edit// i installed the xf86 synaptics package, its working fine.

  • I'm unable to scroll down the page using laptop touch pad.

My FF was updated automatically. I'm unable to scroll down the page using the laptop touch pad scroll option.
It was working fine on FF before upgrade and after upgrade on IE browser. But, in FF 9 it is not working. Any help is appreciated.

Type '''about:config''' in the address bar and hit Enter key. When you see a warning, click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' button
-> In the '''Filter bar''', type '''trackpoint'''
    * right-click '''ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled''' preference, click '''Modify''' and change the value from '''-1''' to '''0''' (zero) or '''1'''
    * click OK
-> Close '''about:config''' tab and Restart Firefox
Check which value (0 or 1) works.

  • Using the touch pad I can not exit out of the App Store I am new to mac

New to Mac   Having trouble exiting out of App Store with touch pad.  I hit the red x and it just beeps

    kj.arm,
which model MacBook Pro do you have, and which version of OS X is installed on it?
If you’re currently booted into Windows on your MacBook Pro, restart Windows in the normal way, but hold down an Option key once you hear the startup chime — that will put you in the Startup Manager, which will show you an icon for each available bootable OS. Use the arrow keys to select your OS X partition, and press Return; that will boot OS X. Once you’ve logged in, select the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences. If the padlock icon in the lower left of the window is locked, click on it (and provide the appropriate password) to unlock it. You will see a set of bootable OS icons to choose from for which OS you would like to boot from by default; presuming that you prefer to boot from OS X by default, select the icon that corresponds to your OS X partition, and press the “Restart…” button. It should now default to booting into OS X.
