Cannot use Touch keys on Satellite P300-172

Hi,
so I was cleaning my Toshiba laptop last week and after accidentally going over the touch keys it booted my computer up, I thought nothing of it because its happened before but for some reason the buttons have now broke and are no longer responding to touch and so they are now constantly on, this is annoying on numerous levels, 1 been that it drains on the battery a lot, the light it puts off at night is very annoying, and most of all I cant turn it off cos they wont work, as a result I can no longer use the touch keys

tnx but that didnt work, instead i took the AC out, ran the battery dead, removed battery, re-inserted it, plugged AC back in ,started it up n they all seem to work again now :)

Similar issues have been filed against netbeans and mostly they seem to happen when the keybindings have been modified:

btw, can you run creator with a different userdir (by renaming the existing userdir) and see if the problem still persists? If it does not, then it would mean there is some keybinding setting in the current user directory that is causing this problem.

I BOUGHT TOSHIBA SATELLITE U400-112 , WINDOWS VISTA , I FORMATED MY LAPTOP THEN I SETUP WINDOWS VISTA , BUT WHEN I INTRED THE PRODUCT KEY (THAT IN THE LAPTP`S STICKER) , A MESSAGE APPEAR AND TELL THE P K IS INVALID !!!
BY THE WAY, MY WINDOWS VISA IS A COPY CD OF THE ORIGENAL VISTA, IT CAN BE UPTATED BUT DOES`T ACCEPT MY LAPTOP PRODUCT KEY!!!

The product key on the bottom side of the notebook is an OEM key and belongs to the preinstalled OEM version. That means you can??t use this key with a normal Vista installation disk that you can buy on the internet or from a computer shop.
If you want to install Vista you should a Toshiba recovery disk or a Microsoft disk with the corresponding product key.
You can order a Toshiba recovery disk from Toshiba directly:

4507R+E with "k9" type IOS cannot use "crypto key generate rsa" command

Hi all,
We just upgraded the IOS on our SUP7L-E supervisor in a 4507R+E from a non-k9 (crypto) image to a k9 (crypto) image so we could use SSH to manage it. The specific image we are using is: cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.04.SG.151-2.SG4.bin. We also have a pair of 2960CG-8TS-L's that are running on: c2960c405ex-universalk9-mz.152-2.E.bin. We have given the devices new hostnames and specified a domain according to instructions.
Our problem seems to be that we cannot use the "crypto key generate rsa" command to generate the keys we need to use SSH. We use this command all the time on our other 2960 and 4510 switches with no problems. We can issue other "crypto" commands but just cant generate the keys. Has anyone else experienced/fixed this problem?

Cannot use BACKSPACE key in SQLPLUS

just installed 9i on RH 9.0 when I enter sqlplus the backspace does not work. I see ^?
if I use the DEL key I see [[3~
how do I make sqlplus let me use backspace key ?
my backspace key works fine in RH Unix prompt

did you try with this option ?
before enter in sqlplus you can set this :
oracle@chopin:~> set -o vi
and after connect with sqlplus you can erase
pressing ESC and several times the key "x"

Aperture 3.2.1 still issues with sorting images in albums, after making adjustments, cannot use arrow keys to go to next image. straightening tool auto turns image prior to straightening inconsistantly

Have updated aperture to 3.2.1, still having some issues during editing images.
1. Basic item is sorting images does not happen correctly, move some images in file, they don't move correctly, after trying to move several, then they almost randomly move around.
2. Straightening tool will automatically tilt images as soon as you touch the tool, turns them on about a 30 degree angle clockwise.
3. Arrows on right side of keyboard used to move images in browser from the editing position, they move them if no editing is done, once you edit an image, cannot move to the next image using the arrow keys.

Oh, baby! This bad boy flies!! Here's what to expect:
I had 40,000 images in Aperture 3 and it was dog slow at everything. I installed 3.1 update today. It took 5 minutes to update the database and then behaved marginally better than before at ASIC library navigation. I was disappointed.
Then I QUIT the app. It took a couple of hours to "update files for sharing" with a counter that went to 110,000 images. So it must have updated every thumbnail and variation of preview. Turned it back on , and BAM. Came up fully in seconds. Paused for 10 seconds ten everything was lickrty split. For the first time ever, I can use the Projects view with all 791 projects and scroll quickly. I even put it in photos modevand whipped thru all 49,000 images!
Haven't done anybprocessing yet, but i'm liking it!!

On boot camp and windows 7 cannot use dimmability keys on wireless apple keyboard.

However the dimability keys and sounds keys cannot be used with my wireless keyboard.

The 2007 MacBook Pro only supports 32-bit Windows 7 through Boot Camp although it has got a 64-bit processor, so buy a 32-bit Windows 7 version.

Cannot use webcam on my Satellite A300

Hi there
I have installed Windows 7 home premium in my laptop (it had windows Vista) and ever since I can't use my webcam.
It doesn't appear in device manager and I have install and uninstall many times the drivers but every time I see the message that says that the camera is either disconnected or destroyed and restart the camera or the computer.
Is there a way to solve this problem?

Its always difficult to disassemble the notebook. Its not like a disassembling of desktop PCs. If you never disassembled such notebook, I would not recommend doing this because you could damage other parts. I think you should ask an specialist to check if the cable is lose or not.

Well, you have to use the Toshiba Recovery disk. If you did not create such disk, then you will need to order such disk from Toshiba. Check some threads in the Product Recovery forum.

Yes, the recovery disk will format the whole HDD and would remove also the Win 7 system. All your data would be deleted so backup the data before doing such things.

Cannot use ODD on my Satellite A30

Satellite A30 has lost it's d drive so can't use recovery disc's. Do I need to buy a new drive or is there software I can download to recover it?

If you are 100% sure that drive is defective I recommend you to exchange it with new one. After doing this you can install your notebook without any problems.
As far as I know there is no any software that you can use to install OS without using ODD. Recovery image can not be downloaded.

Cannot use WLAN on my Satellite 5105-s501

Hi,
I've just acquired this computer.
I'm not sure if the 5105 s501 is the L series - I can't find any information anywhere, perhaps someone could push me in the right direction.
I can't get the wireless to work. I can connect to the internet via a cable but nowhere in the control panel etc does it say anything about wireless. Fn + f8 does nothing. Should the intel driver in the device manager say something about wireless? There is a flashing red light when the wireless is switched on.

You have old Satellite 5105-s501.
All you need to know about your old notebook you can find on Toshiba US support page > HERE .
At first open device manager and check under network adapters if the WLAN card is installed properly.

Cannot use Multirecorder on my Satellite A105

Someone can help me? I buy one Satellite A105-S4074. It has one DVD multi recorder MAT****A UJ-850. More or less three month everything is working well. One day i try to record one DVD, but during the recording time some problem it doesn complete record, then it make one message driver code 039 error.
After this problem it dosen't find in my computer I try to install but always make code 039. So I did not get to install.

Cannot use OS on my Satellite P10-304

Hi - I wonder if anyone can help me. I know this is an old laptop, but it is my old favourite and my son uses it. I turned it on this morning and it wouldn't load windows (XP) at all. I tried to boot up in safe mode to do a scan, and it got started, then all went wrong again and kept going to a black screen with white text. This I have been trying on and off all day with no luck...
I have nothing of any importance on there so I thought I would try and to a complete restore back to Factory Settings. I put in disc No: 1 and it gave me the option to do a full recovery. I selected that (option 1) and then "continue" after the warning that it will delete everything... then it goes to "!!!!!!!ERROR!!!!!!!!" and I have to exit.
Not too sure where to go from here...
Any advice would be very much appreciated... it has been working fine up until now albeit slow to get going.

I cannot use cursor keys to adjust display etc. on sites such as Iplayer & youtube nor close windows using cursor keys, why?!?

I'm using Windows 7 32bit & cursor buttons in the corners of online windows will not work. I'm unable to close, move or adjust size of the windows. I'm also unable to skip forward through a video on youtube or Iplayer nor maximise or adjust the size of the window. I've blocked popups & tracking on initial setup of firefox & am using AdBlock plus though disabling that has'nt helped.

Satellite P300-172 - What is my serial number

I'm trying to download easy cap software from a cd.
The install process requires me to divulge my laptops serial number.
Problem is I cannot proceed without inputting 19 digits whereas my serial number only has 9.
Is there something I'm missing here?

Is "easy cap" screen capture software or the hardware to capture video? If the latter then [http://forum.easycap.co.uk] . In either case I doubt that either software house has a list of laptop serial number formats and any 19 digits will do. But is your problem with a video capture package such as Ulead and your software was supplied as an OEM bundle with a different manufacturer's PC?

Is the object locked? If it's locked, then you can't even select it.
If you can select it and it still won't move with arrows (I'm assuming it moves when you drag it), then perhaps the arrow "nudge" setting is so small it's not visible. Go to Edit > Preferences and look at "General" (the first page of settings. Make sure Keyboard Increment is set to something big enough to be useful.
If all else fails, you might try exiting Illustrator and rebooting.
