Cannot use TV Out port on Satellite P300D-14E

Hallo,
I have got an P300D-14E running on a Win7 32bit system. I have installed also the latest graphics driver from your homepage.
It is completeley unpossible for me to get the s-video TV Out running. I don't think that there is anything wrong with the hardware either, because there is a picture shown on my TV while booting. After the welcome screen apeared it turns black. I tryed out every possibility in the drivers options. Also I tryed out the options in Windows 7. The Television is recognized and the symbol of it is shown either in the ATI and else in the windows options.
Of course I tried the F5 Bottom, too.
Do you have any experiances like I have with windows 7?
Thanks
Peter

Yes, the Notebook was delivered with Vista but windows 7 is full featured by toshiba. There was even a possibility for the owners of a later Model of the P300 to upgrade to win7 for a very low amout of money. I bought a ultimate Licence myself.
To my Problem. Yes, there are the little pictures while pressing the FN Bottom. They change depending to the connected devices. In case of a connected TV there is a possibility to switch to a single TV or a TV/Monitor mode. If I do so, nothing happens (to the TV)
If the TV would not start while booting, I simply would think that something is wrong with the connector and/or with the graphic adapter.
I would really be interested to know, whether other users have made the same expeariance only with windows7, and if it works with Vista.

  • Cannot use VGA output on my Satellite A100

I have Satellite A100 laptop and when I use the VGA output my monitor informs their is NO signal. I have checked my monitor and it does work.
What I would like to know since their is no signal output from my VGA does this also mean that the *S-Video* will not have any signal either?
I dont have a S-Video >> VGA adapter as present trying to save the cost of buying one if it does not work...

I really don't know what are you doing wrong?
Is your notebook connected with VGA cable or with some adapter to the VGA port on your notebook?
When monitor is connected please use FN+F5 key combination to switch between LCD display and connected monitor.
    Does this work?

  • Cannot use Read Out Loud function in MS Vista

I have not be able to use the Read Out Loud function of Adobe Reader since I got Vista.  I have recently written a book and I want others to be able listen to the book in PDF format but they cannot.  A good friend of my sister is legally blind and wanted to know if I had an audio version for her so I asked her if she had Adobe Reader and she said she did.  So I then asked if she had MS Vista OS but she is not sure.  If she does she and other who have Vista and any version of Adobe Readerwill not be able to use the Read Out Loud function as far as I know.  Any ideas as what the issue can be?  I have had Vista tell me it was some kind of security violation and I tried to exempt it but Vista would not let me.  Here is the error output from today "Faulting application AcroRd32.exe, version 9.3.3.177, time stamp 0x4c1d77af, faulting module lhcom02W.dll, version 2.13.0.0, time stamp 0x3cfc8155, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00018818, process id 0xeac, application start time 0x01cb4798dc61d030."  I have 9.3.3.4 but previous version still did not work either.  I was hoping the latest update would have worked.  signed: Frustrated and Disappointed in Indiana

By changing my preferences in Adobe Reader (Edit/Preferences/ Reading) from the default, it seemed to kick the function into action!  The volume is still very low, though, even though all the volume slide controls are on max.
    But progress anyway!

  • Unable to use any USB ports on Satellite P50-A (PSPMHC-01M00P) are Windows 7 Ultimate Install

    Hi Everyone,
I created a dual-boot Win7/Win8.1 system on my Satellite P50-A (PSPMHC-01M00P) unfortunately, even though I was able to find a working USB Controller driver from a similar model's Win7 driver, I  can not get the laptop to recognize or install anything USB device regardless of which port I plug the device into.  It's as if my USB ports are disabled when in Windows 7.  This isn't the case with my Windows 8.1 installation.
Could this be a driver issue since I know it's not a hardware one?  Could anyone recommend a suitable non-Canadian Windows 7 64bit chipset driver that I could try in hopes to resolve my USB functionality?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Satellite P50-A-01M (PSPMHC-01M00P)
We support US computers at this site. Everything for that Canadian model is here.
Unfortunately, your site does not include anything for Windows 7. As you've noticed, that Windows version does not support USB 3.0 natively. It needs a driver.
But you are in luck! Because it's in the same part-number family (PSPMHx), this US computer uses the same drivers and utilities. Compare the specs.
    Satellite P50-AST2GX1 (PSPMHU-01G00R)
    Those downloads are here.
If you want everything to work, the order of installation is important. Start with a clean install of Windows 7. Install the chipset software and display drivers prior to any other drivers. Install the TVAP before any other Toshiba utilities.

  • Cannot use ASMedia SATA ports

I can't get my ASMedia ports to work using standard HDD in AHCI mode. Has anyone else had this issue and have any solutions? I had a similar issue with my ASRock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard but that issue was resolved by rolling back my IRST drivers to version 11.2 WHQL. The IRST 11.2 drivers won't install on this motherboard saying my system doesn't meet requirements. I am using IRST 13.1 with ASMedia 2.8.0 drivers. I get the PC to boot, used Disk Mgmt to format the drives and reboot. Every time IRST starts the ASMedia drives fall out and are no longer detected. I currently have 5,708 errors in my Event Viewer saying Drive4 is not ready for use Event ID 15. It is a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda drive.
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/asrock/53481-asmedia-sata_3-port-causes-irst-stop-responding-solved-print.html

I resolved the problem by deleting the ASMedia drivers and using Device Mgr to "Update Drivers / Browse My Computer" and selecting the Microsoft default drivers. So far my 1 TB Seagate drive is running fine with my CD/DVD Combo on the other port. I don't know if there will be issues if I connect two HDD to the ASMedia ports or not. I thought I would post this in case it would help someone else having issues. I haven't ran any benchmarks for performance but it seems fairly snappy when copying files from my SSD to the HDD.
BTW, I am ditching my EVGA 680 SLI for a new MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4G which will be here tomorrow. It matches my motherboard color scheme and layout perfectly. I am really looking forward to seeing that lighted dragon logo inside my PC's window. I am hoping this MSI video board serves me as well as my EVGA boards have in the past.
EDIT: I spoke too soon. After copying several folders to the Seagate drive my PC froze up. Keyboard and mouse were unresponsive and it required a hard restart. I tried switching ports for the mouse and the light only flickered briefly when I plugged it in. The Seagate drive is working fine on my free Intel SATA port. I have abandoned the notion of running 3 Samsung drives in a RAID array because benchmarks show a performance drop off. Two SSD in RAID_0 seem to be best for optimum performance. I'm still looking forward to my new MSI video board. Maybe this mobo needs RMA? Maybe power issues with the ASMedia SATA ports? IDK, I need to RMA sooner or later because one of the BIOS is fried.

  • Cannot use WLAN connection with my Satellite Pro A100

    Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-830
    Netgear DG834G
Can not use wireless connection. While using "Config Free" to find wireless device the popup 'this connection is controlled by other software'. I do not know what it means and which software controls the connection. I have other laptop which is duly connected by wireless connection. I am ok with wired connection.
I do not know much about technicalities and thus seek help if any reader can.
    Thanks
    Kris

    >Can not use wireless connection. While using "Config Free" to find wireless device the popup 'this connection is controlled by other software'
You should not use the ConfigFree for the Wlan configuration but either the own Vista configuration options or the WLan configuration tool like Intel ProSet Utility or Atheros Clint Utility. It depends on the WLan card what utility can be used.
Intel card -> Intel ProSet Utility; Atheros WLan card -> Atheros Clint Utility
I assume the message +this connection is controlled by other software+ appears because one of the options mentioned above controls the WLan.

    Hi
According notebook specification your notebk has Realtek 802.11bgn RTL8191SE WLAN card inside and it is confusing that this WLAN card is not listed under network adapters in device manager.
I presume you have german machine. Have you installed own OS on English using Microsoft installation disc.
Have you installed WLAN card driver?
Please do it. Latest driver you can find on Toshiba WLAN portal - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

  • TV LCD JVC LT42x50: MACs cannot use the VGA port!

I have a MacMini 1,5 core solo and tried to connect to my TV via VGA (as I used to do with my old PC notebook).
I wish I read the TV istructions before..., but it clearly says that his VGA port it's not for Macs!
Ihe qustion is: is there a way to modify the MAcMini output so that my TV can get it?
(I asked the MACshop guys here in Rome about this problem but they couldn't find an anwer...)

Like Boece, I don't have any personal experience with SwitchResX since my minis all run with commonplace displays or TVs which they drive at nominal and default resolutions. But if SRX doesn't offer an option to save the settings you have manually set, it suggests the system should correctly save them for reuse in the property list file.
However, it is also possible that the TV, since it's connected by VGA (rather than using a composite adapter) is feeding the mini with an ID signal which overrides your SRX settings. Since MacOS uses the ID data from displays to create 'correct' settings for them, that could potentially explain why the settings you give it are not working.
Also worth noting is that you may be selecting modes which are NTSC rather than PAL, so if the display is giving you options, ensure one matching the PAL standard is selected.
In this situation, if you are not able to get assistance with someone familiar with SwitchResX, and resolve it that way, if your TV has composite input (a yellow video input with red and white for stereo audio) I'd be inclined to suggest you try Apple's DVI to Composite/S-video adapter and connect up that way. It has not failed in any situation I have tried, at least at 640x480 or 800x600.

  • Cannot use Intel widi with my Satellite L50-A-11T

    Hi,
I have a Satellite L50-A-11T and i've tried to use Intel widi with Windows 8.1 and doesn't work, it says that the system is not compatible.
With Windows 8 it was ok and worked fine, but in the instruccions for upgrading it said to remove Intel widi.
    Why is that?
    Thanks in advance.

    You misunderstood this info.
Intel WiDi isnt supported in Win 8.1 on Toshiba notebooks BUT instead of Intel WiDi you can use Miracast.
But Intel WiDi is not Miracast.
Intel WiDi was developed by Intel.
Miracast is an standard supported by developed by WiFi Allianz and Intel is a part of this Allianz
Windows 8.1 as well as Android 4.2 support the Miracast standard.
But this does not mean that you can use it always you need the compatible hardware parts.
In case your TV would not support Miracast standard, you will not be able to use it

  • Wireless connection via "dongle" - cannot use remaining USB port.

The dongle is too wide to allow space for plugging in to the second USB port. I have tried using the hub (Belkin) from my old Mac mini but the dongle disconnects regularly when plugged in via the hub. When plugged direct into the USB port the reception is solid. I want to use a wireless mouse because I prefer it to the trackpad. Any suggestion how to connect two devices at once without compromising the efficiency of the dongle?

    Try a USB extension cable?

  • Cannot use Standby option on my Satellite Pro P200

    Hi
I have installed XP SP2 on my P200, but it can not go into standby, it says something about RAM parity check or something?
    What can be wrong?
    Standby in Vista works fine.
    *Hardware malfunction*
*Call your hardware vendor for support*
*nmi: parity check / memory parity error*
    *The system has halted*

An NMI error can be caused by a number of things.
Bad memory, did you install any memory modules recently?
    Faulty hardware
    Bad driver
Read this Microsoft KB for a solution:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315223
If the RAM passes, I would run recovery to rule out a software problem. If it still happens after that, take it to a repair center.

  • Cannot use created recovery discs for Satellite A350-134

Emm I really hope you can help me.
The Notebook said that you have to create the Recovery Disk by yourself and thats what I did ( on 2 Cds)
So i wanted to reinstall my Notebook and put in the first cd and booted from CD. So i came into the Menu.
Then after a while it asked me to put in the second CD and I did it. Then it said there was a error copying the last 2 files needed.
So now i cant create the Recovery Disk again because I already started the reinstalling. now i have a few questions
What can i do generally ? Because I really dont want to buy for 35 euros a new Recovery Disk :S
I thank everyone who helps me :D

If you want to have factory settings you must install recovery image from recovery disc.
If your discs dont work you must use original Toshiba recovery disc.
My opinion is that you should install Win7 32bit on this machine. I do it on friends A350 and it runs perfectly.

  • Problems Reading/Writing Parallel Port Data, Status & control Registers Using In Port.vi and Out port.vi

    Hi,
Can anyone there help me Please with the problem. I am trying to
communicate with the parallel port using my program which i have
attached to the message. I am running LabVIEW 7.0 Professional with
application builder. All the program does is reads and writes to the
three parallel port registers. It runs FINE!!! in my computer. But when
i built an executable (see attached) and tried running on a different
computer (with LabVIEW Runtime engine 7.0 installed) the program does
not read/write to the registers. The target PC had the parallel port in
SPP mode just like mine. I can't seem to understand whats going wrong?
Can anyone please help me if you know the right answer.
    Thanks

    Hi Guys,
I too have a problem using "Out Port.vi", but of a diferent kind. I use this VI to control the  Parallel Port which in  turn controls a small circuit. I use only two data pins, DP-2 and DP-4 for this purpouse. I use LV 7.1 Professional Development version in a Windows 2000 operating system. Now, my main problem is that my code runs fine (both is development and .exe forms) in my development computer, but when I try to run the .exe version in  other computers (Windows XP operating system), it asks for a "protocol file" while starting (look at the attached picture).
Now, I really have no idea what kind of a protocol file it asks for and just click "ok" and proceed to work, the most interesting part is that the code works well as I expected. So, my only problem is that it asks for a protocl file which I want to avoid. As with the application building, I do all that is  required like including the sub VIs (self developed), creating an installer, enabling the port access, and creating a proper .ini fine. I also use the Out Port.vi from the AccessHW library.
I have my doubts on two fronts,
    1) With the version conflict, since my development computer runs with Windows 2000 and my target computers all run with Windows XP
    2) With the Out Port.vi which further contains a small VI "Output Word to Port.vi" in it and that further contains Call Library Function Node, which might call soem external files, like what my problem is.(look at the attached picture)
I don't have answers to these questions and may be my problem is in different place, but I would like to hear from anyone who could give me a helping hand. I am in a situation where I could not disclose my code.
    Thanks in advance,
    mohan

  • Is VISA Write VI / Out Port (need AccessHW) better for writing to parallel port?

We have experimented with 2 methods for writing to parallel port:
    1. Using NI VISA directly by calling VISA Write vi.
    2. Using the Out Port vi, for which we had to install AccessHW.
Does the first method have any disadvantages. It seems to be a simpler solution.
    Operating system: Windows 2000
    Labview 8.2
    NI VISA 4.0

    Hey rashadi,
There is nothing wrong with using the VISA write.vi to write to a parallel port.  Here is a great example program of how to use the VISA vi's to write to a parallel  port.
    I hope this helps!
