Cannot use yahoo mail with the mailto feature

I bought a new computer with 2 users on it and installed firefox. I changed the 1st user firefox to use yahoomail for the mailto feature ok.. However, on the 2nd user the link to be sent was in the address of yahoo mail. I have not solved this problem

I get this warning now To. Never saw it in last 5 years and 4 iPhones. Cannot get yahoo small biz email access anymore via iPhone on safari web login because of this same warning. Using yahoo mail with outlook and mac mail

I previously used entourage on my OS 10.6.8 mac but I have upgraded to os 10 and office 2011 with outlook. When I set up outlook will yahoo mail messages only be accessible on the original device that opens them? I have an iMac desktop with outlook, a Macair using mac mail and a Samsung tablet using yahoo mail. I have noticed that when using mac mail only on the iMac and Macbookair, to get yahoo mail and yahoo mail on the tablet. I can only see my yahoo mail messages on the first device that opens the yahoo mail account. I have Yahoo mail plus. Is there a way to fix this other than turning off the yahoo mail account on the devices I am not currently using?

Cannot compose or reply using yahoo mail with firefox

I have done everything Yahoo says to do which is FF's solution to my problem, but it does not solve the problem
Yahoo mail works fine with IE & CHROME but with FF 33 & 34 it will not allow me to compose or reply to an email!
And the checkboxes with the icons inside have been there for MANY versions.
Sad that I will have to switch to Chrome or IE

I am suddenly having this problem with not being able to
reply/forward to (certain Gmail conversations).
Now using, Mac OS 10.5.8 and experienced the presence of this issue with Firefox 3.6.10. AND 3.6.13 but not with Beta 4.
I have used Safari and the error is not reproducible. This issue is exclusively present to Gmail in FF.
I can confirm that FF config is presently dom.storage.enabled.
I have started FF in safemode, disabled, updated and enabled all plugins and add-ons, restarted FF and desktop many times, the issue is still present in FF 3.6.10/3.6.13.
Only some conversations cause this error. When I click on particular conversations reply/forward tab, the page freezes and the only way to temporarily resolve this, is to click the refresh icon as F5 will not work.
It does not freeze the whole
FF browser, just the window with Gmail.
I need a fix as FF is my primary browser.

You should be able to recover notes from a backup, if you backup the iPad, but try this first and see if the notes reappear.
Quit the Notes app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Cannot get Yahoo email with the built-in email app from within my company's network

From within my company's network, I can get Yahoo email if I use the Yahoo email app but not if I use the iPhone built-in email app (iPhone 5 and iPad 4 both running iOS 7.1.2). Any idea what may be going on?
Could it be that the two apps use different ports to get email (and one port happens to be blocked by the company's firewall/proxy)? If yes, anyone knows what these ports may be?

That's entirely possible. Talk to your IT department about it. Attempting to bypass their security and potentially violating their security policy may not be good for your career.

Cannot use Windows mail with PE 12 only shows express or adobe mail

windows mail version 6.0 on Vista. PE 12 gives only Express and Adobe as options.

Why can't i make attachments with yahoo mail in the newest Firefox?

i use yahoo mail. in the old versions of firefox it works perfectly. i use now firefox 3.6.25 if i upgrade to the latest firefox, yahoo mail doesn't work anymore. i can't attach anything. the button 'attach' stays grey and unclickable. it is the reason i don't upgrade. can someone help me? o i work on a macbook pro, with mac os 10.6.8 running.

Well, my problem with Yahoo Classic is different--I cannot click on some of the buttons! Very weird. No beach ball, but when I attach files to send an email and click on "Attach Files", nothing. Same with a couple others.
Going to try to install the new Flash as Mark suggested. Anyone else have this issue?
I probably should change to Yahoo's newer mail app but I just prefer the Classic version.

How do I setup Yahoo mail with OS X Mail?

I am seeing some odd behaviour using Yahoo mail and the Mail app built into OS X. I use UK based Yahoo mail, OS X 10.8.1 and Mail 6.0 that comes included.
In OS X Mail I have the Inbox, Sent and Trash mailboxes listed with the neat icons, then under yahoo.co.uk I have Bulk Mail, Draft, Sent and Trash using folder icons.
All my incoming emails are listed in the OS X Inbox but the Sent box is empty, all my sent emails are under the yahoo.co.uk header. If I send an email from Mail it goes into the OS X Mail Sent folder and doesn't show up in yahoo.co.uk.
If I log into my Yahoo from my iPhone I have duplicated boxes, namely an Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash, Bulk Mail, Deleted Messages and Sent Messages. Any messages sent from OS X Mail are not visible.
How do I stop this behaviour? I just want one set of boxes that all synchronise correctly.

Never mind, fixed it. Had to highlight the Yahoo boxes, then select Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For.
I just wish it was easier to find the info, had to go on quite a search to find it.

When clicking on an email address in a website, and Yahoo web mail is the default mail client, the TO address is prepended with the "mailto:" tag, and of course bounces. Why and what to do about it?

In a website, when an email link is clicked, the "mailto:email@address" tag is called, which opens the default mail client.
A friend has Yahoo web mail as his default mail client. When he clicks on such an email link in a website, the TO address appears in the new email form prepended with the "mailto:" tag, as in mailto:[email protected] This of course bounces.
I don't use web mail, so can't help him, but maybe you can provide a reason or a cure for this. Thank you.

I recently needed to replace my hard drive and now when I try to open the Mail application I get the following message: "You cannot use this version of the application Mail with this version of Mac OS X."

ANSWERING MY OWN POST:
I have tried reinstalling Mail from my Snow Leopard upgrade disk directly and tried it using Pacifist. Neither worked because both simply reinstalled version 4.0. Fortunately, I have a MacBook Pro and it has version 4.1. I copied this directly, which was not ideal (it was quite confused about my mailboxes), but it worked.
The problem is that +Software Update+ did not detect the old version of Mail and Apple does not provide a direct way (that I could find) of downloading the latest version. Each time I downloaded Mail from Apple, it was version 4.0.

I have had difficulty with yahoo mail since the security update on Dec 23rd - have you? if so do you have a resolution? I can get into yahoo but then cannot open individual emails or folders!!!

I just installed 10.5.8 (9L30) via Software Update and now my Mail doesn't work. Instead, I get a dialog box that says "You cannot use this version of the application Mail with this version of Mac OS X." When I run it out of Terminal from /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail it runs fine, even though it is Version 3.5 (which is what shows up when I do Get Info on the Mail application in the Applications folder). This is really poor, Apple. This is basic stuff -when you upgrade the OS you have to make sure all the Apps work. How are you going to fix this?

Not everyone had the problem. Good for them. More than one person had the problem - and perhaps even more will experience it. That means there is a hole in the update process - i.e. something does not work properly in all situations. Apple is not God - they stuff up sometimes, innit? Stop defending them.
No matter whether you use a Mac or Windows machine, you need to do some basic maintenance from time to time to keep things working smoothly. Macs, overall, tend to need less, but you still need to check the hard drive from time to time, and you definitely never want to install an OS update if there's a chance you've got hard drive problems.
So if that's the case, why design an "automatic" Software Update utility that does not do a check of HD integrity if it is so vital to do such a check before installing an OS upgrade? Does that make any sense? Where do Apple recommend such a check prior to installing an OS upgrade? It's not immediately obvious do the average user. Apple have gone out of their way to make claims like "you never have to defrag a Mac". They don't mention anything about HD checks. If it's so fundamental, why not? Is it unreasonable to think that a company that prides itself on good design would think of this?
