Cannot validate Production Premium CS4 upgrade

I purchased Production Premium CS4 using a upgrade path which allowed for a discount based on my prior purchase of Design Standard CS4. The screen that validates my copy of Production Premium (it was a download) asks for the serial number of my qualifying previous package, but the pulldown menu doesn't list any choices except CS3 packages. So, of course, my Design Standard serial number doesn't work and I am only able to use the trial version. All the Adobe technical staff seems to be unreachable until October 14, after their system upgrade is complete. Can anyone offer suggestions?
Thanks

Just to follow up, Customer Service was able to get Production Premium CS4 installed fairly easily today, but my concern about Photoshop CS 4 turned out to be well-founded. I still do not have  PS CS4 Extended. After a frustrating four sessions with four different reps today, which included an uninstall of my existing version of Photoshop CS4 (not Extended) and re-install of the trial version of PS CS4 Extended, I still show only the regular version. Nobody seems to know what the problem is, but the fifth contact at Customer Service has agreed to send me an actual installation disc with which to install the extended version. I am running OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard, and I don't know if that is a complicating factor here.
I give my thanks to Adobe for their service reps--everyone was courteous and eager to help, although the first two gave advice that was patently wrong. The first had me uninstall PS (against my better judgment) in the hopes that PS Extended would somehow magically appear. That left me without any PS at all. It took three more sessions to get it re-installed. After I finally re-installed the trial version, Rep # 4 had me enter my Production Premium serial number at the appropriate prompt and the number was rejected. I accepted the trial option and have closed and reopened the program several times and have never been asked for a serial number again nor is there any other indication that this is a trial version. It seems to have just settled in place with the rest of Production Premium. The second rep reported that his superiors said that my upgrade path from Design Standard CS4 to Production Premium CS4 ($799.00) was invalid despite the assurances of two representatives with whom I talked before I purchased, as well as their website upgrade path page.
I am hoping that the physical disc will settle the issue.
Thanks for your attention.
P.S.: By the way, Adobe seems to have at least three levels of help in this area--one for installation/activation problems, another called "Tech Support", and a third "Customer Support" and it was this last category that has provided the installation disc. Although I have referred to everyone above as "reps" or "Customer Service", I believe the first two people I talked to were in the first category, the second two in the second category, the last one being in the third category. I actually called about 5:30 AM Pacific time. I think they start at 5:00 AM Pacific.

  • Production Premium CS4 and Windows 7 64bit

How is Production Premium CS4 working with Windows 7 64bit?  Is it compatible?
I checked the System Requirements and it does not mention Windows 7.
I just wanted to check and see what other user experiences have been like.
    Anything to look out for?
    Thanks!

CS 4.1 worked the same as under XP. I think I had some minor issue with DL & AE. Don't clearly remember because I've been using CS5.5 since it came out. If you can afford the upgrade, Just Do It! You get Audition and lots of 64-bit power & speed. If you've got a decent nVidia card, downoad the CUDA hack (which basically consists of changing one line of text so the card is recognized) and get even more juice.
    CS5.5 is Da Bomb!
....Or you could buy a Mac and go with FCPX. Now there's a real bomb!!!....LOL, ROFL,

  • Production Premium CS4 download link

    Hello,
I have misplaced my Adobe Production Premium CS4 disks and cannot locate them.  Might someone be so kind as to provide me with a download link?  I have the serial number.  Thanks.

    Hi CrawClaw,
    Go to this link: http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
Make sure you read the entire article and directions, as it's a weird hack to get the genuine Adobe trials. The website is on the up-and-up, and if you follow all directions, you'll see that the download actually comes from Adobe.
    Good luck!

I have purchased Production Premium CS4 Educational Version. Its serial number is not working. Please help...

If you recently purchased this then it is not likely to be a valid sale/purchase.  Adobe does not sell older versions of their products and no one but Adobe provides student/teacher licensing.  If you purchased this some time years ago and it is only recently that you find you are not able to reactivate it with the original serial number you can try contacting Adobe Support thru chat and see if they will be willing to work with you to resolve this.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Currently on Production Premium CS4, trialling Photoshop CS5, Bridge CS4 disappears....

I am waiting on the phone to Customer Services as I type this....
I thought it'd be a neat idea to trial CS5 Photoshop (I'm currently on Production Premium CS4).
I did that, and now Bridge CS4 has disappeared.
I didnt' want that.  And when I go to my Adobe CS4 folder under programs, it shows as Adobe Bridge CS4 but when I click on it, I get Bridge CS5
How can I restore this ??
I want to be able to have both installed and the appropriate Bridge to start up depending on whether I'm in CS4 or CS5 (not too much to ask I'd have thought).
    Many thanks,
    Jez

Thanks Curt, that's really helped and saved me time.  By disabling the feature you mention and exiting Bridge CS5, when I go to Photoshop CS4 and invoke Bridge, I do indeed get Bridge CS4 starting and not CS5.
Where I was 'going wrong' was keeping Bridge CS5 running minimized in my system tray which is why even Photoshop CS4 would open it up when invoked from within Photoshop.
    Kind regards,
    Jez

  • Adobe Production Premium CS4????????????????

Does anyone know what the system requirements for adobe production premium cs4 are? I can not find them!

It was for Adobe Creative Suite 4 - which is what you asked about.
You should Adobe for further details, but it appears to be a 64 bit application requiring 16GB of RAM!

  • Aufnahme mit USB-Camcorder Production premium CS4?

    Hallo,

  • Production Premium CS4 Student Edition-Quick Question

I just purchased the student edition of Production Premium CS4. I would like to install the software as soon as I recieve it, however, I do plan on buying a new computer within the next month.
Am I able to install the software on the computer I have now, and then once I have purchased the new computer, deactivate and uninstall CS4 from the old computer and reinstall and activate on the new computer?
I believe the Licence states that the software may only be installed on one computer. Does that mean one computer at a time or one computer ever?
    Thank you!

A good and frequent question - and I think you should be OK...  Check out the entries in this FAQ, "Do the Student Editions have restricted functionality?" and "How many computers can I use a Student Edition on?"  (under "How Can I Use My Software?")   http://bit.ly/byG0p6

  • Cs4 Production Premium Bundle Upgrade to cs6

I purhcased the cs4 Production Premium Bundle several years ago and I just heard recently that cs4 operators only had a short while to upgrade to cs6 before Adobe would make it impossible to upgrade.  I have tried to do the upgrade function on the Adobe website but when the pulldown menus appear they only go as far back as cs5.  How can I upgrade my entire bundle?

    Contact sales directly.

  • From Photoshop CS3 to Suite Production Premium CS4 - order failed

    Hello,
I have a little problem with buying a product from Adobe. I have Photoshop CS3 and I want to buy CS4 Suite Production Premium. When I search for this product and check the upgrade options it says that I can upgrade from my Photoshop CS3 version. However, when I order this product I get an order cancelation after some minutes without any reason - and no, it is not a CreditCard problem - I checked everything. All data is correct. Where there would be a real problem, why I don't get a call from them?
Then I called the sales hotline and the guy on the line told me that I need the Upsell version and that he can't check why the online order was canceled. Ok - I ordered this upsell version for a higher price than the online upgrade version. Some hours later I got a weird email from Adobe saying again that my order has been canceled. ??? I wonder whats going on there. I can't reach the sales guy on the weekend so I have to wait and I know that he can't give any information about why the order has been canceld again (why that?). That way it seems I am not able to order any product from Adobe and honestly I don't want to order it from Adobe directly anymore.
May it be possible that I can't upgrade or upsell from Photoshop CS3 alone to the Production Premium Suite CS4 - even it saying like this on their website.
Also, why is there only the upgrade version available on the online store and not the upsell version and why do I see an upgrade option even it must be called upsell version?
Why is the upgrade manager: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/upgrade saying the same that I CAN UPGRADE from Photoshop CS3 to this Suite.
I am speechless about that much trouble with a company like Adobe. And yes, this is my first try to order a Suite from Adobe directly. Now I am very unsure what to buy, where to buy and how I get this to work.
Btw. Customer Support didn't answer my emails about this.
    Thanks for any hint!
    Andreas

I did that twice and called them. They are always saying that they can't see what the problem is but they can setup a new order and try again - hello? - try and error ordering. I will not order on the Adobe Store anymore. This was the first and my last time I tried to order on their site or via a sales agent from their sales team. Also, when I see their emails that came back about the cancelation: No Subject line, weird emailaddress and with some really confusing product description and with a standard answer. I first thought it was some spam. I am really disapointed about their service.
I also found out that the sales guy put in a wrong phone number and I can remember we checked the number three times. I mean, I don't order a pair of socks here - I want a pro sales service for a pro product where I pay a lot of money for.

  • Web Premium cs4 upgrade issues

I currently have web premium CS3 on my computer and purchased the CS4 upgrade (download). When I try to install, it cannot find my CS3 installation and displays an error message when i try to enter the CS3 serial number on the "upgrade check" screen.
The only way I've been able to install CS4 is as a trial, but since it's the upgrade it won't let me activate it without recognizing that I have CS3 on my computer. Any ideas?
I'm running Vista business 64 bit -- I assume it doesn't realise CS3 installs to the "program files (x86)" folder; are there any ways to make the install look for specific paths?

Call Adobe. Install issues are handled free of charge.

  • Ultra not listed in Production Premium CS4

Has Ultra been dropped by Adobe or removed from CS4? What's happening with it?

First thing I noticed too. Here's my concern. Ultra CS3 has it's own installer, but it requires that you activate CS3 Production Premium first. So if I upgrade to CS4, I'll need to...
    1) Install at least one CS3 component and activate.
    2) Install Ultra CS3
    3) Install CS4 Suite, which hopefully won't interfere with the CS3 licensing.
Annoying. I don't use Ultra much, but I'm not willing to give it up just because Adobe has given up on it. I wish I hadn't sold my Ultra 2 license.
I saw a demo at Serious Magic's NAB booth a few years back of a realtime version of Ultra. It had a different name, but basically, they had a pitchman standing in front a green screen while all kinds of crazy virtual camera moves appeared on a live monitor.

  • Windows 7 Production Premium CS4 language pack installation error + solution

Ok. Long story short...(For solution scroll all the way down)
Tried to install ubuntu next to my windows vista. Next day I found myself wondering in store searching for windows 7 because Ubuntu install ruined something somewhere inside my computer and neither one of my OS were not starting at all...
Ok. So I purchased Windows 7 with smile in my face and happiness in my soul! Now it´s clean installed and working and I have to say it is much better than Vista was...
Already installed 3d max 2009 and couple of other old programs and works like charm and softwares are starting fast!
    ...BUT
Today I tried to install my wonderful CS4 Production Premium package to this computer. All went well all the way to the end report where it said something like "installation error" and then there was few products or files on the list which it was unable to install...(I can post the exact list tomorrow when I try to uninstall and then again install suite the fourth or fifth time in a row.) After error report I was really worried. First I tried to start Photoshop and all I got was error report "some of the application components are missing from the application directory. Please re-install the application." Then I tried Illustrator and the message was "the localized resource files for this application could not be loaded. Please re-install...blah blah..." When I try to open Onlocation I get windows error "Adobe Onlocation has stopped working." Bridge and Media Encoder are working! But when tried to start After Effects, Premiere and Soundbooth it just opened the serial key window. When I write the serial from my dvd-box backlabel it gives me the nice big red X and says that my serial is not valid. But my serial was really valid just a while ago when I started to install these softwares! Oh please NO!
    Ok. So...Questions shortly:
How to get my Production Premium installation work in Windows 7 and get back to work?
How to de-activate my softwares after computer breakdown or user stupidity leading to computer breakdown so I can use my softwares again?
    EDIT:
Well...This is what I got from the error report:
Adobe After Effects CS4 LangPack (en_GB)

Can´t install it in safe mode and installing trough troubleshooters different windows versions won´t work either...
    Any ideas anyone?
    EDIT:
Tried creating .nrg dvd-images with Nero and installing from harddrive instead of dvd-discs but still no luck. So problem is not in my dvd-drive or discs...
    EDIT:
    SOLUTION...
Adobe support answered to my question. I was missing a DOCUMENTS folder from my USERS - PUBLIC path and after I created that and un-installed & installed my production premium package, everything worked like it should! You might encounter to this same problem also if your USERS - PUBLIC - DOCUMENTS folder has some security settings on... Just right click the folder, choose security and check full control in permissions and remember to sign in as administrator when you install any software...
    Hope this tip is helpful!
    Now...Back to work!

    WOH, just what I needed.
My problem was, that I have moved my documents to another partition, but the public parts I unfortunaly don't had thinked about. . This was 'the solution'! Thank you J_Suhonen!

  • Upgrading to Adobe Production Premium CS4

Can any one please tell me if one can upgrade from the old Adobe Video Collection to the above. It says one can upgrade fron any" video bundle". Is the video collection regardes as a bundle.

Look HERE for a quick summary of the new features in After Effects. I can personally attest to the power of the new rotobrush. If you do that kind of work, it will save you a ton of time. Rendering times are considerably faster and being able to RAM preview a 30 or 40 second clip all the way through at full res is finally a reality.
Look HERE for a summary of the new features in Premiere Pro. The major improvement here, in my opinion, is the ability to preview a multi-layer timeline with several effects in real time at full res without rendering.
I can't tell you if it's worth it to you to upgrade or not. All I can say is that I'm really happy with it, so far.

  • Web Premium 3 to Production Premium 4 upgrade?

I have a question I hope someone can answer. I am thinking of upgrading from my Web Design Premium Cs3 to the Production Suite. I use Dreamweaver a lot but not for major website coding and such and I am quite comfy with CS3. So I would like to keep DW CS3 but I am using after effects more and more with animation projects and would like to upgrade from Web CS3 to Production CS4 to gain AE CS4.
My main question is this: will I loose Dreamweaver CS3 and Acrobat if I do the Production update? I currently run a stand alone version of AE Ver. 7 Pro and acquired a new Macbook Pro that would run AE and Premier, Photoshop etc. I just don't want to loose Dreamweaver in the upgrade.
Also, if I wanted to upgrade Acrobat in the future how would that work? Is Adobe forcing the upgrade to the Master Suite in my situation? Or can I upgrade individual components in the future?

The simple yes or no answer you are looking for is no, you cannot upgrade individual components in the future. Once you buy into the suite, you can upgrade the full suite or upgrade from one version of the suite to a higher version of the suite.
For futher information, I suggest you directly contact Adobe Customer Support. This forum is not a venue for direct communication with Adobe, but rather, a user to user forum with emphasis on users. Adobe does not officially monitor this forum.
