Hi Sergey,
It seems to be a known issue when special characters are used in the password of your user in Oracle.
https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1638205
Try changing the password so it does not contain any special characters.
Regards,
Julian

  • "Contribute cannot verify your connection information"

Please can somebody help a non-techie from England (New Forest) who has hit a brick wall when using Contribute 3?
I have a community (voluntary and not-for-profit) website as a sub-domain on my business website.  Don't ask me how I managed it, but I created the community website entirely on the Contribute software.  For unknown reasons, it would not allow me to edit and upload pages etc., even though I have been doing this for some time.  I uninstalled the program, re-installed it and starting again tried to make a connection.
I got the error message "contribute cannot verify your connection information.  The path given does not match the provided website's homepage; or there may be a permission problem.  Please contact your administrator for assistance".
Well, obviously I can't administer the site yet because I cannot get a connection!  I have asked my web-hosting company to verify the information I need and he tells me that he is able to get into the site with no problem using the same information - he is using contribute CS4.
This is killing me with frustration because I so need to get some vital information out to our 34k residents which is time-critical (by 3rd Dec latest).  I have put so much work into this without moaning, but am now at the end of my patience and feel like throwing the towel in.  The site is onevoice.officeoverload.com if you would like to see what I mean.
Thanks for reading this - apologies that it is long.  If anyone out there can help I would be so very grateful to hear from you
    Best wishes
    Sue

    Sue,
Maybe I can help you as I just solved my own connection problem after trying to get help from Adobe online support, phone support, and this forum for over a month.
You will need to have access to your Contribute Server installation.  If you are using a MS Windows based pc and it was installed using the defaults it should be located here: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Contribute Publishing Server.  Under the CPS folder there will be a number of folders but you only need to open the database folder.     Inside that folder will be a folder(s) with it's name being a number [1,2,3 - depending on the number of sites that you connect to]
Inside each of the site folders there will be a groups folder and user folder and a file named connection_key.stc.
I moved all of my site folders to another folder I created off the root folder [C:/contribute database backup].
That has the same effect as deleting the folders, but gives you the option to restore them if you need too.
Then I open the Contribute Client and it allowed me access and I deleted the existing folders and drafts.
Then I went to the site that I wanted to connect to and recreated the connection using the prompts.  I had to recreate all of the users and assign their roles for the each site.
I did have a problem recreating one of my sites because it gave me the message that there were "drafts that needed to be deleted or exported", but it wouldn't let me do either of those things.  I did a seach of my computer for the word "draft" and it found two files buried in some hidden file.  I deleted those files and then I was able to recreate that web site connection.
I think the connection_key.stc file is the important file that needs to be removed as it contains an encrypted string of data.
In fact I also copied the connection_key.stc from one site folder to another and then I was able to get into the site, delete its connection (it was connecting to the wrong site of course) and then recreate the connection.
    I hope this helps.

  • Contribute cannot verify your connection information... Please notify your administrator."

After a initial network error last night, The Shared Settings
file was zapped. Contribute decided I was no longer the Admin, and
    the Editor's connection also disappered.
I found the note that's pasted here, in the Contribute
    Forums.
"connect to your server (using 3rd party ftp client) and
delete the _mm folder located on the root of the website - recreate
your connections and that should solve the issue"
I deleted the _mm folder. When I tried creating the
connection anew, contribute said, "Contribute cannot verify your
    connection information... home/justandpeacefu/html/. Please notify
your administrator." Now it's the same error every time. I am
unable to make the new _mm folder.
Contribute Tech support sent me an email which didn't help.
    It's at the very bottom.
Items 1-4 in the email are not the problem.
I am able to connect to the server, after the tech support
    person reset something there.
    I can make folders, and pages in FTP application;
    there are no special characters;
    permissions are fine;
Item 5 did not have any effect. I turned off Apple's personal
firewall, quit contribute, and tried again. Unsuccessful. Same
    error.
    ANY SUGGESTIONS, ANYONE?
    Text from Tech Support:
As we have discussed on the phone earlier today, here are
common causes of getting a "cannot verify connection information"
when creating a connection in Contribute:
    1. Not enough permissions on the root of the website - Make
sure you have enough permissions on the root of the website. Using
third party FTP software, verify that you are able to create
folders, upload and rename files, and delete files on the root of
    the website.
    2. There are special characters on the folder name of the
folder you are trying to connect to - Avoid special characters as
Contribute is not so compatible with them.
    3. Incompatible FTP connection settings: When you are asked
to enter your FTP account information in the connection wizard,
click the advanced button. Make sure that the only options selected
are: "Choose FTP Server Settings Manually" and "Use Passive FTP to
    connect to the server".
    4. Verify that the FTP server is pointing to your web server.
Example: upload any temporary HTML file on the root of your
website; when you visit the URL:
    http://[your_server
you should see the page render; You should not get a "Page cannot
    be found".
    5. Turn off any software firewall / antivirus running on the
background to isolate possibly conflicting processes.

I'm having the same problem as andres in the original post,
the message comes up when trying to Continue out of the "Remote
Path Info" box. I am able to browse to the location so Contribute
does know its there. This is with Contribute 4 on Mac OS X
    connecting to a Linux server.
I manually ran the FTP connection tests via command line:
    http://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19496
    and all tests passed successfully
I also downloaded and ran FTP Connection Checker (on my
    Windows machine) at:
    http://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19012
    and passed all tests successfully.
The wording with these tests imply that they are the same
tests run by Contribute, i doubt that to be the case since these
    pass but Contribute fails.
I have tried this with the site root and _mm folder set to
permissions of 777 with no luck. I am able to connect and edit
successfully with Dreamweaver and FTP with Transmit (Mac OS X).
I'm about out of things to try and my deadline to train the
client is coming up. Any further insight on this would sure be
    appreciated!

  • Login failed. Please verify your login information or contact the sys admin

    Hello
I've recently installed Oracle EBS 11.5.9 on Red Hat x-86 based linux.
I'm able to see the EBS login page but i can't login as SYSADMIN / SYSADMIN.
    Infact i can't login @ all.
    Error
Login failed. Please verify your login information or contact the system administrator

    Hii Fadi
I plan to remove to EBS from my NAS partition and redo the whole thing cuz i've learned that i missed some steps in terms of OS parameters.
    Just clear my 2 questions.
1.Teach me how to run rapid wiz from staging.
The default path in the last installation was /d01/Stage11i/and so on.I added only NAS directory destination path /vision before /d01 and when the install ran it asked me to manually provide source path and didn't run automatically.
    NOW what i plan is
1.My NAS partition is called /vision. My stage directory named Stage11i is on local HD.I plan to copy my stage directory to NAS drive and run rapidwiz on my NAS from my stage directory and take all directory paths as default and move with the default installation.I believe this way rapidwiz would go automatic and install EBS overnight. No
    Is my approach correct. ??.
2.My Linux x-86 RH4.0 is a test system running on 10.x.x.x ip network in the bank and it can be reached ( pinged ).However its not allowed to use DNS like the rest of the system.
In such a situation teach me howto resolve the DNS problem so that my team in the bank is able to access it from remote locations.
Tell me in terms of exact entries in the host file.
To me DNS shouldn't matter as long as i can ping the system.Cuz in the last instalation i was able to see the default EBS login page from remote bank site on the same network.
Secondly do post your blog link or email it to me at [email protected]

  • Missing DataBase Login information for deployed VS2008 w/Crystal Report

I'm creating a Windows Form application using VS2008 Pro and the basic Crystal Reports (included).</br></br>
I've successfully added a crystalreportviewer control and a crystal report (.rpt) to my form. I've written the following code in the code behind to programmatically load/bind the report to the viewer. Everything works fine on my development machine (or any machine that has Visual Studio installed). Where I'm encountering problems is when I deploy the application to a machine that does not have VS installed (I have downloaded and installed the "Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 Redistributable Package" for the appropriate processor type on this non development machine) that I'm getting an error . It prompts for "DataBase Login". The ServerName, LoginID and Password are all there, but the "DataBase" field is empty and disable for user input.</br></br>
Why is the DataBase information missing? How can I solve this problem?</br></br>
(On a side note, I vaguely remember a property for enabling/disabling the prompting of the database login. I can't remember where this was again to double check if that is the culprit. But I'm pretty sure that I did mark it as to not prompt, since it's supplied in the code behind. Plus it doesn't prompt on the development machines. Only on the non-development machines).</br></br>

    HI. Ludek,
Thanks for the tips. I tried both, but the problem presists.
On a side note, I did get my hands on yet another "non-development machine". This one ran with Window's Vista appeared to work (even with my original code).
The "non-development machines" that I've tested on are Windows 7 and Window XP machines. On these machines, when I commented out the reportDocument.SetDatabaseLogon line, when I try to load the report, it still prompts for the Database Logon information, however, it also has the "Database name" empty and disabled.
Since it worked on a non-development machine with Win Vista. I don't think there is a problem with references or the Crystal runtime packages.
As far as permission for the report to contact the database, I'm guessing there isn't a problem there either because the application does successfully connect to the database.
I'm connecting to a SQL2005 database and using the SQL Native connection.
On a side note: as for the enabling prompting, I just remembered that it was an option available when using Crystal Reports with a web project. Thus I couldn't find it here with a Window's Form project.

I am trying to access a report with CR Server XI, one which works fine in crystal reports. Yet whenever I try to access it I get the following error:
The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.Unable to retrieve Object. The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect. I know for a fact the information is correct, and what really gets me is other reports using the same database(different tables) still work. Yet I'm pretty sure I have checked all securites and everything is the same. I have seen other people with similar problems but can't seem to find a response anywhere. So can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info but thats not the problem, I am using a SQL database not a microsoft access database.

  • Cannot verify credit card information

When I attempt to purchase a TV show (which I have done dozens of times), I get a message to verify my billing information.  I input my expiration date and security code, and click done and a screen appears with the expiration date blank and grayed out and an error message telling me to correct my mistake.  Multiple attempts have the same result.  I contacted customer support via Chat and after a few minutes was told that the customer service person had to speak with a "senior advisor".  That was 5 hours ago...no response.  I decided to redeem a gift card that I had and use that.  I redeemed the gift card and my account reflects that it has been registered.  However, when I try to make a purchase, I get to the same billing screen and it won't let me use my gift card.  What's going on?

  • Cannot find database login fail.

I had to database one on my local machine (LM) and one on the network machine (NM).
NM had a website where users and had to login to access the data using SQL authentication.
LM uses windows authentication. I updated LM  made a backup.
detach NM and delete it. I copied the backup to  NW and then Attach it.
now when users login they are seeing the message can't find database.
Even if I know for a fact the database is there with the same name.
    Not sure what to do.

If i am guessing correctly then, This is a very common issue :-)
you think that the because you use attached a database with the same user name then this is the same user :-) It is not.  two users with the same name and the same password in two instances are not the same user. you should search Google for: sql
server orphaned users. those users that came from the other server named "orphaned users". they seem to be in the login list but there is no real user with the same ID configure in the server (there might be a different use with the same name and
password which is not the same user since the ID is not the same)
Fix the orphaned users as a start step :-)

<p><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">Hey All, </span><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">Thanks in advance for any assistance.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">I created a report in Crystal Reports XI R2 in which I embedded 2 command objects, both of which connect to the same DB. Command_0 performs the SQL to bring back the information which is needed in the report. Command_1 pulls back two fields from a table which are used to fill a dynamic parameter used in command_0. I saved the report to the Crystal Repository which will host the report for our end users. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">I used the BusinessObjects Enterprise Central Management Console (CMC) to set up default DB connection information for the report so that the end users do not need to have the SQL server authentication information. To make sure everything worked as it had when I was designing the report I logged on to our Crystal Server as if I were and end user and tried to access the report. The report will run exactly as expected if I leave the default information in the dynamic parameter. However when I try to change my dynamic parameter the report prompts me for the SQL server authentication information. <span> </span>It appears as if the default DB connection information I set up using the CMC does not apply to command_1. <span> </span></span> </p><p><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">I need to find a way to get this prompt to stop, I cannot release the SQL authentication information to<span>  </span>all of our end users that would be a security nightmare.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">Again Thanks for any assistance or advice you can offer.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">Gary </span></p><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana"> </span>

When you create a dynamic parameter, Business Objects Enterprise Creates few objects for you that essentially creates you a List Of Values (LOV) object for that parameter. LOVs can be created and configured manually from the Business View Manager. You have to specify the database login information in the Data Connection object that your LOV uses.
    Hope that helps.

  • Parameters and database login with Web Services SDK

I need to know how to do the two most common report tasks through the Web Services interface to Crystal Reports Server 2008:
How do I get a list of a report's parameters and set the parameter's values?
How do I set the database login information?
I have considerable experience with writing custom web interfaces for Business Objects Enterprise with .NET, but now we're supposed to use web services instead of Enterprise services, especially when writing Windows forms apps. The official line is that writing thick client apps using Enterprise services is "possible but not supported." I can't seem to find the equivalent to the .Parameters property in Web Services.
The tutorials for Web Services aren't much help. The BIPlatform examples show how to schedule a report without parameters and without setting the database login, but this isn't much help in the real world. The ReportEngine tutorial was apparently written by someone else, and is little or no help.
This seems like such a simple question, but I have wasted an entire day and am no closer to the answer.

I think the following resources will help:
