Cannot verify mac mail account on iPhone

I tried appleid.appl.com as suggested, but that didn't work. Anyone any ideas please?

Delete the account (in Mail) and make a new version.
Hotmail is POP, you have no server copy so backup the mail before deleting the account.

    Hello Sue,
I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

Any help much appreciated as phone assistence unavailable today.

    Hello Asokwah,
Sign out from your pple Id on your Device and Go to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and then Sign In with your Apple Id here and Under your Primary Email Address click on Resend Next to Verification Email Sent. Now Go to your Email Account and Verify your Apple Id again by clicking in the Link inside the Mail that you might have received from Apple. Now Sign In on your Device and try to make a Purchase and if it is for the first time then you will be asked to Review your Account and if you have entered your Credit/Debit card in your Account then you will have to just Enter your 3 Digits CVV Number and then click on Done. And then you can try downloading any Application from AppStore or Music from iTunes Store and check if its working.

    Hello,
You can't upgrade to any faster, & especially not to an Intel CPU needed to run Lion/10.7 for full iCloud usage.
You can have limited use of iCloud the way it is, you can view all of iCloud in a Browser, You can use Find my Phone I hear, & you can use IMAP Mail for syncing, but no other syncing.

how do I continue to use Mail on my MacBook2? i use iCloud on my iPhone and iPad but cannot receive my Mail account on my older MacBook. I have followed the iCloud/move link as suggested but it doesn't give me the continue to use Mail option. Any help gratefully received.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • IPhone 3G Cannot create mail account from IPhone.

Cannot create Pop email account from IPhone. Keeps asking if I want to try to create the account without SSL, whether I answer yes or no. I have to create the account via ITunes.
    Any ideas?

No error msg. Just keeps asking over and over again, if I want to try to setup the account without SSL. If I answer yes. It try's again for 2 min, the repeats the question. If I say no then it takes me back to the config screen for the account where I can select cancel. Never creates the account or give error msg.

  • Need reference/tutorial about iDisk (especially .Mac mail) access by iPhone

    Greetings,
I have started getting quite interested in using my .Mac subscription, especially the iDisk online storage capabilities while being on the road with my MBP.
HOWEVER, I am also intrigued with accessing iDisk and .Mac Mail from my iPhone.
    1. That's where I am having problem number one: seems that i cannot use my iPhone to access anything I put into iDisk's folders from my MBP. I put files into iDisk on my desktop, check if same files are on iDisk by reaching .Mac online, but I do not see anything on my iPhone while accessing iDisk from it. I do see the same iDisk folders as i see on my desktop Documents, etc..), but with no data inside.
My .Mac WebGallery/Albums work well from my iPhone.
    2. Similar problem with Mail. Everything is OK - send receive - as far as .Mac Mail goes, if reached from my laptop. Not so with the iPhone: even though I can send/receive from .Mac Mail from my iPhone, and I do see .Mac Mail's mail boxes, and message insides, I cannot access attachments that i might have sent from Mail on my MBP or from .Mac Mail from my MBP.
I hope this is not too complicated a request for assistance: I have done well so far with most of the iPhone amzingly well integrated capabilities, but I am stumped here re: iPhone access to .Mac's Mail and iDisk.
    Thanks in advance!
    Roger T

Thanks, Zerimar. Indeed, somewhat useless. Not a big deal, but the rest of the interface between my MBP and the iPhone, as well as the iPhone design itself, are quite wonderful. I keep trying to detect some inadequacies in that interface. Not too many!
Seems that Apple designed the iPhone to purposefully limit its online capabilities (security issues, or prevention of unnecessary troubleshooting issues, just like in the case on unlocking phones!)

  • HT2500 How does one set up an .mac mail account?

One of our MSN Hotmail accounts has been hacked, and a friend (who has an Apple .mac account) has suggested that we should be using .mac mail accounts but I cannot find out how to set one up. Do I have to go down to the Apple store to find out or . . . . I must be able to do this online?

Sign up for iCloud or use a service such as Gmail.

  • HT4847 I am using OS 10.4.11 and since being asked to submit to the iCloud my .mac mail account has barely functioned. What must I do to regain functionality?

I am, since submitting to the iCloud, having many problems with my .mac mail account. What's up?

First question: did you migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud before 1 August? If so, then you can access your iCloud email (though no other facilities) on Tiger by following these instructions:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger
If you did not migrate you can reactivate the address (though not its previous contents) but you cannot do this on Tiger: you would need access to a Lion Mac or an iOS5/6 device.

  • I have a old imac OSX.4.11.  Lately my .mac mail account quit working and rejecting my password, even a reset password

I have an old imac with the swivel flat screen-OSX4.11.  My .mac mail account has quit working--it rejects my password--even a reset password.  Connection Dr. says to "make sure username and password are correct", over and over.  Help!

    Hello,
Did you change it over to iCloud yet? It does work in 10.4.11
The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...
This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server, or a server end problem.
If using a browser to login via WebMail works it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.
    The receiving email ports are:
    IMAP is port 143
    IMAP-SSL is port 993
    POP is port 110
    POP-SSL is port 995
    Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.
Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac/.me mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
        •    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 993
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
        •    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 587
        •    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

  • 10.5.3 Breaks .Mac Mail Account

Upon restarting after the 10.5.3 upgrade, Mail no longer allowed me to send mail via .Mac. I have four mail accounts: Yahoo, .Mac, Google, work. Each account setting has been setup to only allow sending from the respective service (eg: .Mac can only send via .Mac mail servers). After the upgrade, though .Mac mail account pointed to a fully configured .Mac SMTP settings (no changes from before) I could no longer send mail.
    RESOLUTION
    1. Delete the .Mac mail account setting in Mail
    2. Add a new .Mac mail account setting in Mail
    3. Reconfigure the .Mac mail account setting to send ONLY using the .Mac SMTP service

In my case, mail is continuously polling the .mac account, waiting for a connection. The other four accounts (both Pop and IMAP) are behaving normally. And when I log into webmail, everything is fine. And the iPhone is also connecting without issue.

  • HT204053 iCloud mail account on iphone, but password doesn't match corresponding Apple ID password

I have an iCloud mail account on my iphone linked to my Apple ID. however, the password to iCloud account appears to be different to the Apple ID password and I don't know what the password is. Is this how it should be or is it a glitch? Is there any solution to recovering it, as I cannot use the mail account without the password?

    Hey Michael,
The password for your Apple ID account should be the same as your iCloud account (unless you have two separate accounts). If you no longer remember this password, or would like to reset it for good faith, you can do so by following the information in this resource:
Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID password
