Cannot Video Conference or Lync call with users outside of the Firewall

I am having the following issues:
Internal users can video conf and call each other fine.
User A internally can Lync call user B externally and voice is ok
User B externally calls user A and user A sees no toast or anything
User A internal tries to video call user B External but it says starting video
User B external tries to video call user A internal and no toast appears
I have eliminated the firewall to my external edge interface as I have temporarily added an ANY rule to make sure no ports are being blocked.
I have 1 public IP with
AV edge using 443
Web Conf using 444
and SIP using 5061
because I cannot "toast" and internal user from external with
either video call or lync voice call the common traffic is:
A/V Edge ICE/STUN:443 Stun/UDP:3478
A/V Edge SRTP:443,3478 TCP 50,000-59,999
Does anyone have any ideas what the issue might be or what I can do to test?

The traffic is getting to the front end server as I monitored SIP stack on the front end and got this from the log after initiating the call request...

  • CE 7.30: WS call with user sys_name _GUEST

    Hi there,
There are some CAF WS that I call in my BPM.
After having deployed a new version of my product, I'm now facing the issue that a CAF WS for one business object is called with user <sys_name>_GUEST (<sys_name>= system name, e.g. CE1).
Normally it should use the user created under SOA->Application and Scenario Communication->User Account Management.
As a workaround I gave full access to this CAF business object to the GUEST user, but that's not the way it should be.
Where can I define which user should be used for calling a CAF WS?
    The weird thing is:
Sometimes it correct after deploying another version of my product!
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Eddie

    Eddie,
A colleague of mine has just found this in the SAP Help - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/de/d3/d5777a57914167bc9f4767068c3d39/frameset.htm
It resolves the issue we were having and also mentions how the principal is determined when calling services - not sure if it is useful for you too?
    Gareth.

  • Maximum Video Conference Reached, retry call as audio

    Dear All,
i have ip phone 8945 series and router. i configure router as video conference bridge. i set maximum participant for 4 persons. i also configure separate audio conference bridge on the same router.
when the max video conf participant reached (4 persons), is it automatically add the new participant as audio only?
because in my customer, i can't add another participant.
    Please advice.
    Thank you,
    Anju

Adding to what jaime said, "Maximum Participants" define maximum number of participants per conference above which no more users can join the same conference.
Although  you can have audio participants join the the video conference within the limit of maximum number of participants in a single conference.

If it happens again the make sure that you aren't suppressing website colors.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

  • Join conference via Lync call rather than Call Me At

We have deployed Lync Server 2013 and are just beginning to deploy it in small doses to portions of the organization.  We are using a combination of Lync 2010 and 2013 for clients.  This post is regarding the Lync 2013 client.
We use Lync with Cisco telephony via Remote Call Control.  We do have PC-to-PC calling enabled in addition to RCC (the Telephony setting in Lync Control Panel on the user accounts is "Remote Call Control").  We are not using Enterprise
    Voice.
After deploying Lync as simply an IM + telephony client, we have begun to focus on rolling out the web conferencing functionality.  In doing so, we have noticed strange behavior which I describe below.
Let us assume that someone other than me creates web conference by selecting two people, including me, in their Lync contacts list in the client, right clicks, and selects "Start a conference all" and then chooses "Lync call".  I
see a Lync toast notification appear, inviting me to a conference.  It says the conference organizer's name and says "Conference Call".  If I click the toast to accept the conference, my Cisco telephone extension immediately begins to ring.
In the meantime, in the Lync conference in the client I see "Join Conference Call" and "Other".  If I answer answer my telephone extension or push the Join Conference Call button, I am successfully joined to the Lync audio conference
and can speak with anyone else that joined the conference, whether they are using Lync audio or Cisco telephony.
The problem is that there are cases where we want to do a video conference.  I am aware that can only be done if using Lync audio rather than the Cisco telephony.  I can disconnect from the conference call by hanging up my Cisco extension.
When I do so, the Lync conference in the client shows a notification that gives me the option to rejoin the conference.  The "Rejoin" button has a down arrow, and if I expand it I can select "Rejoin using Lync Call" and if I do that
I can now see others' webcams and can share my own webcam with the conference.
My question is: how can I elect to join the conference in the first place with a Lync call rather than having the Lync conference bridge dial my Cisco extension?  There does not seem to be a way to do this that we can get to work.  For instance,
I mentioned that after I have clicked the Lync toast notification after being added to the conference and my Cisco phone begins ringing that I see the options "Join Conference Call" and "Other" in Lync client.  If I open the Other
options, I see "Join using Lync Call" as an option.  If I select that option, my Cisco phone answers the call and I am joined to the Lync audio conference with my Cisco phone and not Lync audio.
Please note that I already checked the Phone section in the Lync 2013 client options and the box "Before I join meetings, ask which audio device I want to use" is checked and the "Join meeting audio" drop-down box is set to "Lync".

Sorry, I misread your question and now see that I did not pre-emptively answer it.  I just tested it and unchecked the box "Before I join meetings, ask which audio device I want to use" and made sure "Join meeting audio" was set to "Lync".  Even
after doing so, the behavior is the same:  the Cisco phone automatically rings and any action to join the conference results in the Cisco phone extension being picked up.
Basically, it seems that if you use that "Start a Conference Call" option from the Lync contacts list, the Lync preferences set in the recipients' Lync clients are ignored.  If you schedule a Lync conference via Outlook or people use the Lync meeting
URL in their Internet browser, it does respect the preferences correctly.  It seems like it might be a bug.
I would be interested if any other Lync Server 2013 users with Lync client 2013 and using RCC could repeat my tests and see if they have the same issue.

Connect the iPod to the computer she syncs her iPod with.  Then restore the iPod via iTunes.  If iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

  • Using a SAN certificate with RemoteApps for connections outside of the firewall

I have two fairly simple two-server farms on the LAN with gateway servers in the DMZ.  (One is 2008 R2 and the other is 2012 R2 in the same configuration) Users connect via the 2012 RD Web Access portal to run the apps on the two farms
and all that works fine.  The trouble is that when connecting they get the certificate mis-match warning from the session host that is assigned the connection.  I would like to get rid of that by installing  a SAN/UCC certificate that lists
both servers and the DNS of the farm A record so that whichever server gets the connection ca present the cert and authenticate without the warning.
Our internal and Internet domains are the same (pre-dates me)  We maintain our internal DNS and the outside world gets its info from a provider.  The inside hosts do not exist on the outside DNS, which they don't need to anyway. As I said, this
configuration functions just fine except for the cert mismatch business.
    I bought a SAN/UCC cert through DigiCert:
Ensures the identity of a remote computer
Proves your identity to a remote computer
    2.16.840.1.114412.1.1
The subject shows the dns name of the farm host
The subject Alt Name shows all the hostnames:
    DNS Name=rds-farm.myDomain.com
    DNS Name=server1.myDomain.com
    DNS Name=server2.myDomain.com
DNS Name=server3.myDomain.com  (There isn't actually a server3 at this point but I figured I might as well add it for possible expansion)
The cert chains properly back to DigiCert.
On the 2012 install, when I try to add the cert for Connection Broker - Publishing it comes back with the following message:
"The specified certificate is not valid. The certificate properties must match the requirements of the role service."
So what are the requirements that don't match and what do I need to do to rekey this cert correctly?

    Hi,
Do you have a DNS A record on your internal network?  Does it point to the RD Connection Broker server?
Please try to change the FQDN name of the server. You can use this cmdlet to change the server name that is used when publishing RemoteApps:
Change published FQDN for Server 2012 or 2012 R2 RDS Deployment

  • OTV Deployment with SVI defined in the firewall

    Hello,
    I have the following scenario.
    1) DC 1 is having a firewall(FW1) with NExus 7K
    2) DC 2 is having a firewall(FW2) with NExus 7K
    3) Both firewalls are independent of each other
    4) SVI (Default Gateway) of VLAN 10 and Vlan 20 are defined in the firewall
    5) OTV is deployed across the DC with VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 are overlayed across the DC
    6) Server 1 is in VLAN 10 in DC 1 and server 2 is in VLAN 20 in DC 2
Question: When server 1 in vlan 10(DC1) wants to communicate to Server 2 in VLAN 20(DC2). The server1 forwards the traffic to the default gateway of VLAN 10(in this case the SVI of VLAN 10 defined in the firewall 1), passes the policy and uses the overlay interface to reach to server 2(VLAN 20 in DC 2)
Return traffic from server 20 would hit the default gateway of VLAN 20(in this case default gateway defined in the Firewall 2). which ideally is not required, it should directly use the overlay link and land on the Firewall 1 which is on the DC1.
Can anyone suggest a problem for this solution.
    Regards,
    Henry Rose.

You only need one port.OK, initially I need only - lets say port 1080.
But then for example a client c1 requests a bind. The socks server opens a new socket for the client (e.g. on 50000) and tells the client on which port on the socks he is now listening, right?
In order to allow client c2 to connect to this new port the firewall needs to allow access to the new port (50000) first.
So there are more ports - there might be hundrets or thousands, right?
If its on a seperate box it doesn't matter. If its on the same box it should manage different ports.yes, different ports!
However, it should allow access to the ports that the socks opens for the clients, right?
Optimal would be a dynamic adaptation of the firewall, whenever the socks opens a new port the firewall grants access.
I assume its configurable, so its up to you.No, unfortunately it is not configurable. At least I havent found anything.
    Probably won't either.???
    Don't use ports already used. `netstat -a` will list all the used port on that box. obviously, and Jsocks allows to configure reusage of ports by flag true/false;
Has anybody setup a socks proxy with a firewall and knows how this is/should be done normally?
    Has anybody experiences with JSocks?

  • Driver Scanner will not update, there is a problem with proxy sttings and the firewall

Driver Scanner will not update. It says there is a problem in connecting to the Uniblue browser.
Also there is a problem with the proxy set up and the firewall.

With that one, let's try getting an installer log to the Apple engineers for a look.
    1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
    2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
    3. Type in a space, then the following line:
    /l*v C:\log.txt
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address: [email protected]
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing
