Cannot view attachments

I cannot view attachments sent thru an email nor can I view anything sent from store advertisements. When the Gap sends me an email and I open the email I cannot view the pictures or advertisement's. The picture looks like it would if it were sent to my trash. I am an old iPhone user.
Thanks.

Glad that worked, android is a learning curve we all get those moments.

  • Cannot view attachments sent to me - difficulty using iPhone for business

I have a Yahoo business e-mail account synced to my iPhone. For my business I need to view dozens of attachments each day -- mostly PDFs, PowerPoint and Word files. Some are large (more than 8 MB) and I can understand why those might be slow to load, but I cannot view small ones, such as PDFs that are less than 1 MB. The circle just spins forever.
I have used a BlackBerry 8700C for more than a year and found a product to work with it called Repligo Professional (for individuals as well as enterprise). When I am traveling, it allows me to see all the attachment types within a minute or two. So I still carry my BlackBerry, which I had hoped to retire when I migrated to the iPhone.
The strange thing is that the BlackBerry uses EDGE and the AT&T network, and it is very fast, whereas the iPhone using EDGE/AT&T does not work.
Switching to WIFI does not help.
This difficulty, combined with the cumbersome need to delete one e-mail at a time, makes the iPhone impractical for business use at this time.
Is there any solution that I am not aware of?
    Thanks,
    Anna

I have received many pictures from other phones, both iPhones and other non iPhones. iMessage and standard text messages have both contained pictures. However when I want to view the pictures, I cannot. When I click on the pictures it takes me to a black screen that says its loading but it never finishes. I have left it loading for over an hour with no luck of seeing the picture. I have tried it on many wifi networks and both 4g and 3G cell service with no luck. I have now figured out to save the picture then enter the photos app to look at the picture. While this solution works, I simply want my pictures to load when I click on them so I can see if it is one I need to save. Any help on how to fix the problem?  I have an iPhone 4S.

  • Cannot view email attachments unless....

I have been experimenting sending various word and Excel sheets as attachments and opening them in Mail on the iPhone.
The documents I send without an extension in the filename ( .doc or .xls) cannot be viewed on the iPhone, but if I send the same file and add the appropriate extension, it is viewable as noted in the user guide.
Are others noting this effect? Seems too "Windows-like", haha.
    Bill

I have tested more file types, and get same result. That is, to view attachments in iPhone mail the sender must have the appropriate extention on the file name, eg. .xls .doc .pdf ........

  • Cannot view email attachments after ios update

I have an ipad3 and just downloaded ios 8.2.  Now, when I view emails I cannot view the attachments. Is there something I need to change? I checked up storage and still have 35GB left.

    Hi, Grumpy Girl.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are unable to view email attachments on your iPad.  Try forcing all open applications to close and restart the device.  Once this is done, see if you are able to view the attachments.
Force an app to close in iOS
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • Cannot send attachments in Mail using .mac account, pop account is fine!

Within my Mail.app, I have 2 accounts: one is a .mac account, the other a pop account.
When I send attachments (jpg always and sometimes pdf) with the .mac account, they do not get encoded properly and my recipients cannot view them -- or they can view, say, 10% of the photo.
When I send the same attachments with the pop account, and within the same Mail.app, I do NOT have this problem.
Furthermore, if I send the attachment from my .mac webmail, I do NOT have the problem.
Does Mail.app have a problem with attachments sent via IMAP accounts?
I have tried Repairing Permissions, deleting the outbox.mbx (and emptying the trash).
Does anyone have any other suggestions? This is driving me crazy.
I am running Mail 2.0.5 on Tiger 10.4.3
Thanks a lot in advance, Neil

    Hello Neil.
Does Mail.app have a problem with attachments sent via IMAP accounts?
    None that I'm aware of.
The Mail.app uses MIME 1.0 for message/attachment encoding (which is the internet standard) for all email accounts.
Is your POP account and the SMTP server used for the account provided by your ISP used for connecting to the internet?
If so, try selecting/using your ISP's SMTP server (the same SMTP server used to send mail via your ISP's POP account) to send mail via your .Mac account as a test.

  • Problem viewing attachments in Mac client

    Hello!
I am currently having a problem with Oracle Calendar on the Mac. I have version 10.1.2.3.0.714 desktop client, and am connecting to a CorporateTime version 5.4 server. When a meeting is created, if there is an attachment to the meeting, I cannot view the attachment. It happens on all meetings, single or recurring. This happens if I set up the attachment on a Windows or Mac client. Windows versions of Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime can see the attachments just fine, even if they are attached from a Mac client. This is happening on multiple machines, and to multiple accounts. Thoughts? My instinct tells me it's because the server is a bit out of date - the upgrade is coming soon - but I'd still like confirmation if that is the case.

When first created my rootCA I did it via Keychain Access and its Certificate Assistant, the second time around I used XCA which is a free GUI front-end to openssl.
    See http://sourceforge.net/projects/xca/
I had previously looked at SimpleAuthority another similar tool but XCA was brought to my attention by a contact at Apple.
I am not sure if just changing what I used initially from Certificate Assistant was the fix or the choices I made.
I have set up templates for creating a CA, for creating a VPN server certificate, an ordinary SSL server certificate, a user certificate and also a code-signing certificate.
In terms of flags, I used the following document as a guide as what to include and indeed an interim test setup using certificates created using the StrongSwan tool also worked for Racoon and Mac and iPhone clients.
    See http://wiki.strongswan.org/projects/strongswan/wiki/IOS_%28Apple%29#Certificate- requirements-for-iOS-interoperability
I used those requirements as a guide when setting up the templates in XCA.
It is possible with Apple's Certificate Assistant to add SAN records but not CRL records, even with openssl doing either is normally very painful, XCA by comparison makes this extremely easy thanks to its templates.

  • Cannot open attachments - various errors

We have a problem on a few macs in the office - not being able to view attachments. In all cases, the attachments (PDF and DOC files) are fine on any other computer, but when downloaded from the Mac Mail program to the desktop, cannot be read. If opened from within Mail, the same errors occur.
In the case of the PDF, the error mentions a problem with the "root," and in the case of a DOC, it says the file is "corrupt."
Is anyone else experiencing this? Could it be part of the recent OS X updates?

Turns out the problem was on the mail server side. Microsoft ExchangeLabs service has worked out a problem to the solution, which is related to POP and IMAP services. They are to post it soon.

  • View attachments as icons

I have a simply question. What can i do for viewing attachments in mail as icons?
I have the same in panther and in tiger. Deactivating the preference seems haven't any effect. Can anyone help me?
    PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

All image type and smaller PDF attachments (1-2 pages) appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default when attached to a message which cannot be turned off.
If preferred, you can control-click on the viewed in place attachment and select View as Icon.
Regardless, such attachments are sent as true attachments to the message and depending on the recipient's email client and available preference settings, the attachments may appear inline or viewed in place when the message is opened (such as the Mail.app) or as attached files which must be opened separately for which we have no control over.
The preference pane you are referring to is for HTML received that contains embedded images and/or objects that must be downloaded from a remote server to be viewed and you do not want to automatically render all HTML received. This has no effect on receiving image/picture files that are attached to a message.

  • TS3276 Someone who receives my mail sent from Apple Mail cannot receive attachments or read my email even though they are on a Mac using Safari.  How could they be using Safari to receive or read my mail?

Someone who receives my mail sent from Apple Mail cannot receive attachments or read my email even though they are on a Mac using Safari.  How could they be using Safari to receive or read my mail?

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink.  This person receiving my email,  while on a Mac with Safari is reading their mail through Safari using Horde--our recent discovery.  Why they chose to do that in unclear. The last email we sent, however, was miraculously read and received and  the attachment was viewed with no problem after we told them our mail was coming from a Mac thriugh Apple Mail.  It seems that telling them that our emails were coming from a Mac and using Apple Mail was enough to make them think that perhaps THEY were doing something not quite right. Thank you both, Level 7 and Level 5.

  • When I save an image on my ipod touch 3rd gen then go to the photos, the library updates/rebuilds, then I cannot view the picture as it just comes up as a picture of a grey camera that says JPG.  It never used to do this, how do I fix it?

I go to save a picture (bu holding my finger down on the image, then pressing save image, when the option comes up), and then go to the photos to view the picture, its says updating library and takes about a minute to finish loading and rebuilding/updating the library.  After it has finished updating the library I cannot view the picture I saved because it comes up as a picture of a grey camera that says JPG (I assume this is some sort of file, because if i save multiple pictures only one JPG, gery camera image shows up.) My ipod never used to do this.  Any idea on how to fix it?

  • XML page cannot be displayed cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet Please correct the error and then click the REfresh

XML page cannot be displayed cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet Please correct the error and then click the REfresh

Is the error message displayed in Firefox or in IE, or in a customized window that doesn't identify the browser?
    ''If it displays in Firefox:''
It's possible that the Troubleshooter doesn't work correctly unless IE is your default browser. You could test that possibility by having IE make itself the default and testing the Troubleshooter again.
''If it displays in IE or embedded in another Microsoft application:''
In a web search I found these suggestions:
    (1) Reset your Internet Explorer settings, according to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_7/cannot-view-xml-using-xsl-style-sheet/ccfe80c6-c0db-4594-a7e3-475f9eac0e85
    (2) Try the System File Checker, according to http://ask-leo.com/why_do_i_get_the_xml_page_cannot_be_displayed_after_running_a_microsoft_troubleshooter.html
    Any luck?
