Cannot view folders in mini bridge

Hello,
when trying to use mini bridge in ID CS6, I cannot view folders. I can look at drives, and places such as desk top, but it will only find individual image files, and cannot find any folders. As most of my assest are in folders, this is exceedingly frustrating. I remember CS5 not having this issue. Is there a preference or setting I am missing, or is this how Adobe always "improves" their products when they update.

I have done that, but it still does not find folders. Specifically, let's say folders within folders. I mentioned that I can find places, such as desktop, but it won't find 'folders' on my desktop. Just indivdual files. Here is a screen shot of what I mean. On my desk top, I happen to have a folder of assets, but it is not finding it when I have 'desk top' highlighted in the navigation. This is a problem that there seems to be now answer for.

Can't view files in mini bridge

Help -
I've just had to reinstall photoshop due to a pc crash but now I've reinstalled I can
't view my files in mini bridge. Bridge itself is fine. Do I need to reset something?

Usually a reinstall does nothing as the preference in Bridge is unaffected. If if worked before the crashyou can reset your preferences by holding down the Ctrl key and starting Bridge. You should get a reset window with 3 options.

Cannot view cr2 files in Bridge cs4 & Windows 7

I can not convert the cr2 files in cs4      nor read them with new Windows 7      Home Edition 64 bit computer
Upon      downloading from my camera I am unable to view the images.
After      downloading the file, when clicking on the file in Bridge to bring it into      Photoshop I get the following message” Could not complete your request      because it is not the right kind of document”
I am      able to view the images on the media card from the camera.
I have      contacted Canon and they suggest that it’s a software issue and that I      should go to the Adobe website and      look for Windows 7 64 updater.
I was      unable to find anything with this reference but I updated to Bridge 5.7.
After      trying to see the images after the update I was still unable to view the      images so I logged onto the Adobe Support site and was told that they no      longer support cs4.
Any suggestions ?

Keep in mind that if your camera is newer than the last released version of Camera Raw (5.7) for Photoshop CS4, Adobe does provide a free solution for compatibility, as Curt has mentioned, through the use of the free DNG Converter application.
The way that works is this:
1. You get your raw images from your new camera into a folder on your computer.
2. You run the latest DNG Converter application and choose the folder.
3. It converts the entire folder full of images to .DNG files.
4. You open a DNG file as you would an older raw file, with your old version of Photoshop.
While the DNG Converter provides you a way to continue to use your older Photoshop software with a new camera, keep in mind that there are significant improvements in the raw converter in the latest version of Photoshop that may allow you to make better images out of your raw files if you do choose to upgrade Photoshop.

Cannot view folders under My Music, but data exists

I am in the process of moving things from my PC to a Mac. In preparation for this, I wanted to make sure my iTunes library was completely organized in the new iTunes Media Organization. So, I checked the box to do this in iTunes. It took about 4 minutes to run. I should also add that I have all my music on an external drive under F:\My Music.
After I ran the organization in iTunes, I went to F:\My Music and there are no folders at all showing up in that folder. However, when I go into iTunes and show the location of a specific file in Windows Explorer, it says F:\My Music\Music\[artist]\[Album] as I would expect.
So, I KNOW the files exist under F:\My Music as I can also get there by typing in the direct path. However, when I go from F:\My Music, nothing shows up. I have tried rebooting and that didn't change anything.
Has anyone seen this problem before? At least I know the files still exist even if they are hard to get to.
I should also note that I have turned on to view all files in the View Folder Options menu for the folders.

Is there a quick way to switch between bridge and mini bridge in ID

I know you can right click in Mini bridge to select revel in bridge (on a Mac) but is there a way to do this in reverse?
I often, many times a day have a folder open in bridge, when it is time to work on a design I would like to tell InDesign mini bridge to navigate to the same folder I have open in Bridge. Navigating around folders in mini bridge is a complete pain! The navigation system isn't in the least bit intuitive.
Any known shortcuts?

Your best shot is prepare a collection in Bridge itself with the files you think you might need for a project and choose collections in MB to browse in as the base for your projects in MB. Selecting the name of the collection is far easier then browsing through a bunch of nested folders
the second best is the app short cut in Mac OS with cmd + Tab to switch to Bridge. Select the file and with right mouse click choose place in InDesign.
But I agree, both options are far from ideal.

Problems opening files & folders with Intuos3 Pen in Mini-Bridge

I just started working with an Intuos3, using it in many places to get the feel of it, clicking, double-clicking, etc. Works nicely! However, in Photoshop CS5 and Mini-Bridge, it's almost impossible to use the pen to open folders and open images. I will use the side buttons to click, or tap the tablet to click. I'm not sure if I'm tapping too fast, not fast enough, or what. The most consistent way to do it is right-click with the side switch and select open.
But why can't I "click" on a folder to open it, or an image to open it in Photoshop? Any thoughts would be welcome!

I have an Intuos4, and although I rarely use it it does open folders and puts pic in the viewer.
Go to your Wacom setup and make sure you have the pen set up correctly. There are lots of options for buttons, tip and so forth.

Cannot view RAW files in Camera RAW in Adobe Bridge.

I have the following installed:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0.1 (13.0.1.3 20131024.r.34 2013/10/24:21:00:00) x64
Operating System: Windows Vista 64-bit
Version: 6.0 Service Pack 2
Bridge Camera Raw v7.0.0.308
I uploaded a plugin (can't remember which one) and now cannot view any of my RAW images through Bridge.
I have tried installing updated Camera RAW plug-ins - v8.6 = not usable as it is for WIN7 only, v 8.2 & v8.4 = doesn't work
Which plugin must i upload and where do I find one to download?

With Bridge cc (verified from help/`about bridte') running, I cannot get a minibridge. The full message reads:

I'm not finding any instructions about how to install it, and a few posts here from Oct. indicate it is part of the CC tools.
Further ; I don't see anything on the cc installer/update tool about any such extension.

If it is a panel, how is that panel accessed? It is not amongst the panels listed under Windows menu item. The only reference I see is under File/Browse in Mini bridge
It should be in your PS Window menu under Window / Extensions / Mini Bridge If it has checkmark in front it should also be visible as a docked panel. The default workspace for PS CC has both Timeline and Mini Bridge docked as panels at the bottom of your PS screen (however this is for a Mac using the Application Frame, don's have Windows but it should be there by default, certainly if Mini Bridge is listed under extensions and has a checkmark in front)
Now from PS I click `File' / `Browse in Mini bridge'. At that point a small window pops open with this informaiton:
....Mini Bridge could not be launched because the
....Mini Bridge extension is not installed
That is indeed strange, on my system using the command to browse in Mini Bridge opens the MB panel wether I have it selected or not with a checkmark under Extensions.
So how am I to access the mini-bridge panel?
What have done wrong in the steps above?
The only thing that seems wrong is your install. First check if you have the latest updates for PS and Bridge using your Creative Cloud Application (which also should be up to date).
Then consider both PS and Bridge to reset preferences. for PS hold down shift + option + Command (Win - ctrl) while restart PS and choose delete pref settings file. For Bridge hold down option (Win-ctrl) key while restart Bridge.
If still no luck consider to uninstall using the official uninstallers for Adobe and then use ACC to reinstall. If still in trouble consider the same procedure but then with the use of Adobe Clean Tool.
In all cases first be sure to have a proper back up and also make sure you have your custom settings for PS (actions, brushes, presets etc) as well as for Bridge (export the keyword list also) before uninstall and use of clean tool

I have Photoshop CC 2014 on my Mac and cannot find Mini-bridge under file, window or in the online add-ons.

Was Mini-Bridge discontinued in Photoshop CC2014? It is not under the file or Window menus. I cannot find it under add-ons on line. I have a Mac, is that why I'm not seeing it? Any help would be very useful.

Mini Bridge: how to clear recent files/folders?

I am a new user of Photoshop CS5.1 Extended and have a question about Mini Bridge. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and I'm using the 64-bit version of Photoshop.
My question is: how do I clear the Recent Files and Recent Folders lists from the navigation pane of Mini Bridge?
In Bridge itself I have set the 'number of recent items' to zero. I can't see any equivalent setting in Mini Bridge.
The reason for asking is that prior to purchasing and installing the Production Premium Suite, I demoed the Web Premium Suite, including Fireworks. Even though Fireworks is now uninstalled and I can find no reference to it in the Windows Registry, Fireworks has its own submenu of recent files in Mini Bridge. I can't figure out where this information is stored.

Ok, I just figured this out.
In Bridge (not Mini Bridge), it's the Reveal Recent toolbar icon, then "Clear Recent Files" and/or "Clear Recent Folders".
This is a bit counter-intuitive, considering that "number of recent items to display" in Bridge was already set to zero, but hey ho.
Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else finds the thread and is curious.

his chapter on Mini Bridge where he talks about organizing your photos getting rid of some and making a folder or file sorry not certain of the terminology under Collections in mini bridge to acess your "keepers" perse.
Not familiar with this book but if Scott is talking about using mini bridge for sorting images he is way out of line. Mini Bridge (to my opinion next to useless since they screwed it up for CS6 but that is another discussion) should be seen as a shortcut to Bridge itself when working in Photoshop on complex tasks of image or album compilation and prevent you from switching back and forward between the two applications while working on a project.
Unfortunately some people thought that it might be useful to add more functions to it and now users start believing they don't need bridge itself for this.
Please use Bridge itself for sorting etc and also try to get hold of a copy of 'Real World Camera Raw' written by Bruce Fraser and Jeff Schewe. They have an edition for about all CS versions and this book will let you know how to really use the power of Bridge and Adobe Camera Raw
