Cannot view inbox or email accounts hidden on top of list on iPad

I can't find a way to fix the settings in mail to allow the list of accounts to scroll down so I can open the inbox. Has this happened to anyone. I can see them 'greyed' out if I hold the scroll withnleft hand and attemptnto touch inbox with right hand but nothing happens. I can open and view other sections like sent fold as normal and compose and send emails. But totally cannot open the inbox. Very frustrating

I will say answered as I used advice for another mail question and did the reset within iPad and inbox came back. All seems quite random but early days yet I suppose with iPad.

Cannot view images in emails on Safari or Firefox

I cannot view images in emails on multiple accounts from different sites (Gmail, AOL Mail, Hotmail) on Safari and Firefox on my Macbook. When I click "Show Content" on the emails to unblock the spam protection, either all of the images don't show up and instead I get the "?" boxes or only some of the images show up. Can anyone help me out? I have an important email I need to print out but need to see all the images before doing so (plus, it's just plain annoying). Thanks.

I have the same problem. Since a while I can no longer view images in html emails even though it was set to do so in the prefs. I am considering ditching the plist file but am concerned that I will lose more valuable info (like account passwords and such). What does the pref file (plist) hold?

Cannot add a new email account, and hence icloud account. When i go into Settings - Mail, accounts, calendars, the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud Settings ghosted (unclickable). Cannot change in itunes also.

Cannot add a new email account, and hence i have no way of creating an iCloud account (very frustrating). I had the same problem with iOS 4.3 but i had no email account to create as i set both up when i bought the iPhone 4. After adding a company email and a gmail account (both wok perfectly) i noticed that the option to create more email accounts had been ghosted (unclickable). This didn't worry me at the time. However, iCloud needs me to create one in here so i can access the cloud which i desperately want the ability to do. When i go into Settings -> Mail, accounts, calendars, the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud in the iPhone Settings ghosted (unclickable). I have same problem in itunes on Mac OSX. Surely restoring isn't the solution as i restored my iphone when changing from iOS 4.3 -> 5. Please help?

Go to
Settings,
General,
Restrictions, type in your Restriction Password,
Accounts, tick Allow Changes.
Press the back key a few times till you're back in Settings, you should see iCloud is now highlight able, now go to Mail Contacts and Calenders and add your email account as per norm.

Update 10.5.6 Cannot log into POP email account

After the upgrade to 10.5.6 I cannot log into my email account anymore. I get a message saying that the mail server does not recognize user or password. My wife has an account with the same provider and it works, however, when she tried to create a test account with the same information she gets the same behavior. Additionally I cannot see any of the email previously stored locally, the folders are there but they are empty. Any help would be appreciated

PS. We have tried deleting the plist in Preferences and a few other things suggested in this discussion thread already, nothing works.

This issue may be closed.
The correct account information was entered, but the preferences file (com.apple.mail.plist) was freshly saved upon closing Mail, ie., the original, corrupt Mail preferences file was retained, so Mail would not connect to the account.
When I closed Mail and deleted the preference file (com.apple.mail.plist) Mail was then able to connect to my account and download. I was also able to Import email from a previous version of OS X and this mail was imported to an "Import" folder.

i cannot add my yahoo email account to my iphone5. I have been trying for many times and it keeps saying "Yahoo server is unavailable". I can access my email on my computer, and was also able to add another email account to my iphone5, but not the yahoo account.

Is this Outlook account being integrated using the Outlook Web Acccess (OWA) protocol?
Have a look at KB02858 for issue integrating an OWA account
Also, you may need to have your IT Admin take a look at some Firewall settings to allow connection to the BlackBerry Internet Service infrastructure.
KB11036 give the firewall connection requirements needed.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

There are photo names, ie 101.jpg in the body of the email, word 'photo' in header. I cannot view the image.

I Deleted my yahoo email account and re-installed it. But I still do not receive emails on my iPad. I have to open my yahoo email on safari to view my yahoo email. This problem started about one week ago. Previously I received my yahoo email on my iPad with no problem.

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.

Cannot view images on emails

Sometimes I get emails with images where I could view them ok without a problem. Recently I noticed that I see only a box with a question mark where an image should appear. I turned OFF and ON the "view images" under Mail settings to see if that would help but it didnt. I also repaired permissions on my hard drive but no cigar. I haven't installed anything in a long time so it can't be another software. The only thing I can remember doing is adding another email account to Mail but that was it. It was from a different provider. Can anyone help?

Hello! I had to get a new iphone 5 because when I updated my other iphone 5 to ios 7, the photos were blurry and nothing would fix it. Now that I have another iphone 5, I keep getting message "Cannot get mail: The user name or password for imap.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect." I have tried numerous times to put in my user name and password, which is correct, and the same messge keeps popping up. I did not have this problem on previous phones when setting up my att email account. Suggestions? Thanks!

Yahoo mail is famous for its down time. There have been a lot of problems with them in the last couple of weeks, and I would imagine that is what the problem is, not the phone.

I cannot get my iCloud email account set up in Outlook 2013. I have Windows 7 also.

I cannot add my @icloud.com email account to my Outlook 2013 - How do I do that? Online support says the account will be listed and it is not. Also, I have installed the iCloud Control Panel, etc. What do I do?

Apple suggests trying the following (from http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4002):
If you already signed in to the iCloud Control Panel without setting up your email address using one of the devices above, close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel twice. If that doesn't help, sign out and back in to the iCloud Control Panel.

AD account cannot send as valid email account

I'm having trouble sending email (via powershell for now) using an AD account which has been granted Send As permissions to a valid email account. I am passing the credentials for the AD account and using the FROM address of the email account. (This
is being done from powershell usign smtp.Send.) If I change the credentials to another account it does send, so there's something different about this particular AD account.
When I attempt to send I get "the SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 client was not authenticated"
In the SMTP receive log I see this:
Inbound Negotiate failed because of LogonDenied
User Name: NULL
535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful
MAIL FROM:<[email protected]>,
530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
What has me perplexed is that I'm doing the same thing from another machine, where I'm using an AD account to send as this same valid email account. All I did in that case was grant the Send As permission to the AD account and it worked.
In this instance where it's not working I've also tried adding the ms-Exch-SMTP-Submit permission to the receive connector, but still cannot send email.
So I'm stumped as to what is different and needs changed in order to allow this AD account to send mail.

Please check the default receive connector in Exchange server. Open Properties and on the Permission Groups tab, we can check the permission and ensure that Anonymous Users is selected.
