Cannot view movie from site

Whenever I go to the NRK website (for instance:
http://www1.nrk.no/nett-tv/klipp/544484 )
I cannot view the movie.
I have downloaded Silverlight and that helps for Firefox and Opera but it does no good for Safar 4 in Snow leopard.

Additionally, I have found that I get the "Calendar service is turned off" until after I use the website to log in as a networked user. When it is checked off, this link works as expected, allowing you to log in to change your password.
Navigating around this "Server Website" is pretty lousey - you would thing that there would always be links available to the calendar, password reset, and profile manager parts in addition to the wikis, people, documents, and activities. Once you click on one of the last four, you lose any links to calendar, password or profile manager. Anyone have any edits to change the default website to include those links on every page? I would have thought they would live in the pull-down-menu at the top left, or a least a link to take you back to the top of the website.

IPhone cannot view movies from dotMac site if password protected

I input a movie in a iWeb page, password protect the site, publish it and then try to view the movie with my iPhone. I can get into the page after entering my userid and password, but when I select the movie, I get an error message stating "Error playing movie". Called Apple Tech support they said it's my web service. When I told them the service was dotmac, the first tier tech said, "sorry sir, the personal support tech will not take your call."
Maybe if enough of you guys call they see this as a real problem so the software engineers can resolve it.

just place a blank, default named file in the folder and
again, when you try
to browse the folder, you just get a blank page instead. No
need to
password protect anything.

Cannot view movies from iphoto gallery...

Hi,
Using iLife '08, i have published some movies and pictures on my iphoto gallery. All my friends and family can view the movies with no problems on their computers. If i try to view my gallery via Safari or another web browser i get a message that says:
Quicktime is unable to play this movie. Please try again.
When i try with Firefox, i get the audio, but no picture. I have deleted my gallery and started again (giving it plenty of time to upload), but no avail.
Would anyone know if this is an issue with iPhoto/Safari or Quicktime and how can i fix it?
I'm on a new iMac (intel) if that helps any with 10.4.10.

Hi all,
If it helps anyone else-i converted the movies that weren't playing into .MOV files and all is working fine now, i can view them-still cant work out why friends and family can view the original clips, on their older Macs, but there you go.

Many online media providers block this - Sky and Amazon Prime do too I believe.
I would have to assume that the app providers cannot offer video Airplay for contractual reasons with the movie studios though it may just be they don;t want to enable their apps to do so.
It's not Apple preventing this, while you could see it would be in Apple's interest to push people to the iTunes store for media it could also drive people away.

Just uninstalled Adobe FlashPlayer and cannot view videos from several major sites such as CNN, VRT (Flemish Radio Television), etc...) Which version of Flashplayer is safe to install?

I uninstalled FlashPlayer because the last 2 weeks my fan was running continually and the CPU was hot!
I did this on advise of "mende1" and it solved the problem!
But now I'm stuck with the fact I cannot view those videos that work with FlashPlayer...
On the ADOBE site I can download older versions, starting at 10.1.
I'm confident that the heating problem does not exist with the older versions.
Any idea from which version it started? Which version should be safe to install?
From 10.3 they say that you can update directly to 11.7.
I guess that the problem entered somewhere here.
So I downloaded the file named "playerglobal10_3.swc", but it than it says that there is no standard program associated with it to open.
So what's the next step?

You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Cannot view movie, screen goes black

Download movies from itunes (usually with difficulty...doesn't seem to want to transfer on 1st or more tries). Once I get the movie, the screen goes black part way through viewing. At this point, video folder also shows a black screen. Took ipad back to apple store, they were not sure what to do so gave me new ipad. Same problems. Is it my itunes account that is a problem? Is it a bad ipad cable? I can sync music and apps easily...am I doing something wrong? (movies are HD-SD and no warning comes up that they cannot be viewed on ipad).

I have no idea what the small white text might be, but in your post above you mention that moving the movies from the computer into the iPad has been difficult and/ or problematic, so I suspect that the problem with the movies has something to do with that scenario.
I don't believe that the problem lies within the cable if you can sync and transfer other content. You could try another cable if you have one and see if that helps.
Do you by any chance live in the U.S.? If you do, movies (most movies that is) can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID that you both them with. So my suggestion would be to delete the movie from the iPad and download it again - but download it directly on the device and not use iTunes at all.
If you are in the U.S. you can go to iTunes on the iPad and tap on the purchased tab. Then tap the "View" button in the upper left corner and bring up "Movies". If your purchased movie is in there, delete it from your iPad and download it again. You can delete the movie by going to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Videos and then swipe across the movie to bring up the delete button. Then go to iTunes and download it again.
You should not have to use another media player in order to play the movies from iTunes.

The big "Q" or a "?" cannot view movies

Have just upgraded to the iLife08 and I am happy (so far) except for not being able to view my own movies I host online.
with iWeb I have some movies. I published and its all good, except that I cannot view them with my mac. I boot up my Win laptop and I can see everything. I have tried to disable the flash settings in the system pref panel like I have read in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1065787&tstart=0
but it does not help.
As well a friend on a mac tried to view my site and he cannot see the movies OR my hosted galleries. What do I have to do to get this to work? I know its not a iWeb problem since my PC will work with the site.

When I use Safari I cannot load the videos. even if I leave it load for a couple minutes. When I use Firefox it will load the files just fine. So its related to safari i guess. I will cross post this in the Safari section as well.

Cannot view movies purchased via iTunes at iPhone 5

The movies purchased at Apple Store (*.m4v both SD and HD quality) were successfuly transfered to iPhone but I do not see them in Video and (as a result) cannot view them.

Using DLNA to view movies from iTunes

I'm running iTunes on a Windows 7 PC and purchasing digital movies from Amazon, Blockbuster and a few other sites. Converting them to M4V is not a problem and I can view all movies on my PC thru iTunes. I haven't gotten Apple TV yet and use my Blue-Ray unit with DLNA to view them on my TV Problem is that I can only see 60~70% of the movies on iTunes. Is there a limit on how many movies can be listed??? Help please

Multiple AppleTVs are the options I use.
If you want to go a non-Apple route you'd probably have a DLNA compliant central server (often an off the shelf box) but it would either need additional AppleTV like boxes to hook up to the TV, client capability in the TV to access the network or a games console/BluRay player or similar which could access content from the server.

Apple's system is not DLNA compliant - my experience using DLNA has been a very mixed bag using a PS3 and Sony Blu Ray player to try to play stuff from a WD NAS (or PS3 media center software on a computer which requires java or at least used to).
I tried a few WD boxes a few years ago but was less than impressed. I stopped buying them just before the WD Live came out which may have been the one that nailed things I wanted but by then I didn't want another unused box.

Cannot View Doc from Outgoing Payment under Approval Procedure messages

Hi Experts,
Both Originator and the approver cannot view the some of the pending and rejected documents when they are trying to edit the docuemtns from the approval procedures messages and approval decision reports.
In effect, the approval cannot approvbed the documents as he cannot check the document for approval. The documents can be viewed from the payment draft dopcument. It will be tedious for the approval to go back and forth to draft document and approval decesion report.
I already check the authorization for outgoing payment they both have full authorization. I can view the document as a super user. I need to know what other authorization do I need to check
Both originator and approver has full acess on outgoing payment since some of the documents can be viewed som3 documents cannot bew viewed.
Please help. We are in the data catch up mode for October 2009.

I cannot view photos from pages of an on-line auction from Firegox, but I can view the photos when I view the page on IE. How can I correct this problem?

When I open to a page from the auction on Firefox, the photos added to the auction to picture the item are not shown. Only a numerical list of the missing photos is visible: 1,2,3, etc. But when the same page is opened on IE, the photos are shown with no trouble. I asked the web site for help, but they had no idea of a problem.

Sometimes images may be blocked by site-specific permission settings, and in other cases by extensions such as ad blockers. (If the images are displayed by a plugin, such as the Flash player, there are additional possible explanations.)
(1) To check permissions, open the Page Info dialog and click into the Media tab. You can do this using either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Media
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Media
Click in the list and arrow down through the various images and watch the box above the image preview area that says "Block images from {site}". If that box is checked for any of the source sites, uncheck it. When you're done, reload the page.
(2) If the images weren't blocked by permissions, try the page in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
If the images display in Safe Mode, then most likely one of your extensions is blocking them. You might be able to solve that puzzle just by reviewing them, but if you can't find the culprit right away, you can selectively disable them in groups to narrow it down.
You would do that in the Add-ons Manager:

Cannot import Movie from iTunes on MacBook to iMac. Error says computer not

When I try to import the movie from the shared folder on my laptop to the desktop I get an error message that says this computer is not authorized. All of my computers have been authorized.

If you purchased and not rented, it should let you stream this to your TV?
You can't defeat the DRM protection from TV or movie purchases from iTunes.
There are two things you can try though if you purchased and not rented.
If, you have a computer with up to date version of iTunes on it, Delete the movie from your iPad and try downloading it from iTunes on your computer.
From there you have two options. One is to connect the iPad to your computer and sync it to the iPad, the try playing the movie from your iPad connected to your TV.
The other option is to leave the movie on iTunes on your computer. In iTunes main menu bar under Advanced, turn on Home Sharing. On your iPad activate iTunes Home Sharing, by going into the settings app, locate the video app settings menu on the left pane, then under Home Sharing, type in your Apple ID and password to activate this feature on the iPad.
Go to the video app, itself. You should see a Sharing tab pop-up. Tap this and an icon representing your iTunes library on your computer should appear. Tap this. Let it load. Under the movies tab, search for your downloaded movie, tap the movie and tap the play button to begin streaming the movie from your computer to your iPad connected to your TV.
If this is a rental, you can only view and play the movie from one device at a time. If rented, it may not let you view the movie from other than the iPad or iTunes on the computer or AppleTV.
If delete this from the iPad, download the rental movie to iTunes on your computer and follow my procedure for sharing your iTunes library, you maybe able to stream this from your computer to the iPad to your TV in that manner.

Cannot stop movie from syncing

Looking for some advice - I bought a movie from the store (on my iPhone) and I have watched it, but cannot get it OFF my iphone! I have unchecked it in "Purchased from my iPhone" playlist and it is always still there!

All you have done is remove it from the playlist - not from the phone.
Go to the Movies section on the left in iTunes and untick it there and resync

Cannot view files from utube.

When on utube, I cant view movies or video. Says I need to download new version of adobe flash player. But I have downloaded current version. But still cant view videos.
