Cannot view position in book on nano

After a recent iTunes upgrade, I can no longer view my position in books from audible.com because the book cover fills the screen when the book is playing. It is still possible to change my position in the book, but I have to do it by guess and by gosh, hoping that after multiple tries, I'll be back to the desired position. I turned off the options for viewing album covers, but that is no help because an empty square appears. Of course, there is also no visual display of the sound level. Bet I'm missing something. Can anyone help?

I don't understand your problem. On my nano, audiobooks work exactly like they do on the larger iPods. The bar across the screen shows the elapsed time and the time remaining. Clicking on the center button puts you in scrub mode and the time is clearly displayed while you scrub back and forth.

She must have signed into her own Apple ID on your iPad in order to sync her content from iTunes so try this and see if it works.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. See if your ID is showing in there and if it isn't - tap on her ID, sign out and then sign in with yours.
You should not be syncing to to different iTunes libraries. The iPad can only sync with one iTunes library without erasing the the content on it if you decide to sync to another iTunes library.

  • Cannot view full message box in right corner

I recently upgraded my operating system to OS Mountain Lion (version 10.8.2).  Since then, I cannot view the full message boxes in the top right hand corner of my screen....half the message is cut off and I cannot seem to move the box over.  Can someone assist?  The message box is part of my garmin map updater software that alerts me to update my maps.
    Thanks

At least some portion of every window is supposed to be drawn ON the screen.
If that message is too far toward the edge, you could try reducing the screen resolution to something very narrow, like 640 by 480 if supported. The hope is that this will place the message box off-screen, so that the System would have to move it back toward the home position to keep it on-screen. When you switch back (presuming the box is still there) it will be firmly on-screen and can be moved into a position you like better.

  • Cannot view pictures in iPhoto

    I have iPhoto 7.1.3 and OS 10.4.11
I have read all the posts regarding the changes with iPhoto and the inability to view the individual files in the latest version.
However, in iPhoto when I try to view a photo, I get the ! icon. As a result, I cannot view the picture, drag it to the desktop or edit it. I am able to view the details of the picture, including file name and size. So I believe the picture exists, but I don't know why I cannot see it.
I tried rebuilding iPhoto during application launch by holding the control-option keys. Nothing has changed.
Someone please help as I need to access my pictures for project.
    Thanks

As you've tried rebuilding the library then I would move on to recovery mode. Your db has been corrupted:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Help!!! Cannot view pics in iPhoto 6

Just installed iLife 06...I though install went fine and it did except for iPhoto 6. My albums, keyword, pic descriptions everything is viewable, even a pictures, file size dimensions, etc...everything except the picture. The number of pictures in the entire Library (over 7,000) shows up...I cannot view the actual pics....I get a grey area with a dotted line where the pic should be, but no pic.
In looking in my Library I can view the picture in a view finder, but it will not show up in iPhoto...What should I do, should I reinstall iLife 06???
    Thanks a million...

  • Cannot view images using Preview

    Happy New Year to all,
I cannot view .jpg files in Preview. I have .jpg files in various folders. If I:
    a) Double click the .jpg file in Finder the Preview icon arrives in dock but no image is displayed.
    or
    b) Right click the .jpg file in Finder and select open with Preview the same as above happens.
If I then right click the Preview icon in dock I can see the image file name with a 'tick' mark next to it but no image is displayed.
The Preview help section in Apple is no help whatsoever. Any ideas ?
I am fairly new to the Mac so do not know if I have had this problem from day one, never tried before.
    Thanks

  • Cannot view metadata loaded via Outline load utility in Webform

I loaded meta-data via outline load utilities with no errors but cannot view the meta on a web form
    Here is my header
Entity     Data Load Cube Name     Point-of-View,Position     Status     FT/PT     Salary Basis     Employee Number     Employee Name     Hire Date     Position Start Date     Position End Date     Position Name
Another intriguing fact is that I am currently loading these members to entity, even when I load to Position, I still cannot view the data. Functionally, it makes more sense to load these members to position

  • Cannot view files in Time Machine

I have my time machine backup on Time Capsule. I cannot view files while I am in the interface of time machine. Some files can be viewed with quick look such as photos and some eps or .ai files. Indesign documents will not view, address book will not view and many others. I did a series of tests and the files will restore just fine, but you cannot view them in the time machine mode. Very frustrating!! Is there a setting that I am missing?

It would be nice to be able to go back in timemachine to a document that you had 6 months ago and ressurect it.
You can do that easily.  If you can't view it via QuickLook, restore it to an alternate location, such as your desktop.  See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #16.
I have been able to view documents in Time machine before.
Yes, some types of documents have always been viewable in TM backups.  TextEdit, Pages, Numbers, Preview, and no doubt others.  But some others aren't, and haven't been.
If bridge can view indesign documents, then Apple sure has the capability to add that as a feature to time machine.
Doubtful they'll do that for a 3rd-party app, but ask here:  http://www.apple.com/feedback/timemachine.html
In 30+ years of design, I have only a handful of times forgot to save my work as I go.
Neither have I, but (a) it only takes once, and (b) most users don't.  (Actually, most users don't even back up ).
Time Machine is not likely to change much in the forseeable future.  If it doesn't meet your needs, there are lots of other backup apps around.

  • I cannot view videos purchased itunes crashes and powers everything down - only happens with itunes - no other videos played or viewed by other sites and methods

I have tried everything I can think of to fix problems I'm having with using/viewing purchased movies and TV episodes and viewing them in itunes.
They start to play for only a few minutes - usually choppy and distorted video and sound sync and then the laptop powers down entirely and goes into a loop of inability to start back up normally or through safe mode, etc.
I have absolutely no other problems watching and viewing videos from other websites orr methods for hours and hours on end.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes numerous times and still have the same issues.
I'm wondering if there's a Windows setting or preference that is incorrectly causing this problem or if there's an error within itunes itself.
Any help to correct would be appreciated since I've spent a ton of money purchasing videos I cannot view.

    Try this:
    Plug in your iPod,
    1. Right click My Computer >> Manage and select Device Manager in the left tab.
    2. Click Portable Devices >> right click Apple iPod >> Uninstall
    3. Unplug and plug your iPod, now wait for windows to re recognize your ipod [ In Device Manager, you will see the new recognized Apple Ipod ]
    4. Press F5 to refresh your windows explorer and see if your Apple iPod will show up with a camera icon.

  • History cannot be entered in book

    Hi,
i am getting following error while running a process chain.
History cannot be entered in book, you cannot save data
    Message no. /SAPAPO/SDP129
    Diagnosis
The history horizon of your planning book is not ready for input (you cannot make entries here).
    System Response
Data that was calculated in this horizon cannot be saved.
    Procedure
Change the history horizon so that it is ready for input. Make sure you always use different planning books for background and interactive planning.
i am not able to understand the message.
please help me what is to be done when i get this message. ( with T-codes if possible)

    Dear Chinmay Kulkarni,
You get this message due to note 531274. It is an info-message stating that you can not save data in the past, because the past in the planning book is not ready for input. If you do not intend to change data in the past, then everything is okay.
You can avoid the message if you simply define your dataviews in a way that only horizons which are really updated are used. SAP always recommend to created separate planning books / data views for batch processing. If you need the historical horizon in order to read data for the macro execution you are able to define the historical horizon as ready for input. In this case the message will not occur. Certainly the behaviour you are observing does not represent an error. The message is just informational und is raised correctly.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Tibor

  • Cannot view ipod songs in latest version of Itunes

I have a 1st gen nano and I see my ipod in the latest itunes software but cannot view the music on the ipod. On another computer with older itunes software (6.0.4) I have no problems. Have updated ipod software but I don't think that is working.

You do this a little bit differently in iTunes 7. Click the triangle next to the iPod under Devices in the list on the left, then click Music below.
