Cannot view Profile Manager Portal

I can use some help here.  Clean install of 10.7 Loin + Server app.  Everything went fine.  The server (Mac Mini) is configured as an OD Master with these services running - Address book, iCal, File Sharing, Mail, VPN, Web and Profile Manager.   DNS checks out fine using the changeip commeand -
The names match.  There is nothing to change.
dirserv:success = "success"
When I'm in Profile Manager and I click on "Visit user portal" I get Safari can't connect... I've downloaded and setup Apple's Push SSL's and configured a self signed SSL.  Everything looks like its in their correct place. I confirmed the Mini is online by surfing the www.  When I go into the web server module and click "View Server Web Site" I get the same message.
All other services seem to be working fine except for Web and Profile Manager.  I'm attaching three screen shots - 1) Safari 2) Console All Messages 3) Web Server Error Log.  Any ideas on what's going on? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Craig
Web Server Error Log

I used this.
Try this in Terminal.app:
cd /etc/apache2/sites
sudo -s # become admin--you will have to enter your password here
rm 0000_any_443_.conf
cp 0000_any_80_.conf.default 0000_any_80_.conf
cp virtual_host_global.conf.default virtual_host_global.conf
exit # go back to being a normal user
Then go back to Server.app and restart your services.

  • Cant launch Profile Manager portal from Mountain Lion server

After a previous permissions issue, I created a brand new ML server and now cant access the Profile Manager portal from the server (or any machines on the network). The DNS settings look good because I'm able to ping both the host name and the ip address from other computers on the network. Has anyone else experienced this?
I tried to view the logs however the 'Profile Manager' logs are greyed out. Would any other log provide some information?

    Nelson -
Pretty much everything boiled down to DNS, firewalls and ports.  Unfortunately, I was never able to acertain which of the three items were causing this problem because we have a separate group who manages the network and firewall (plus a separate security team).  If I recall, once they focused on what it was I was trying to accomplish, most of the problems "magically" went away.
Is your reverse DNS working the way it's supposed to?  Ex:
    yourserver:~ login$ hostname
    yourserver.yourdomainname
    yourserver:~ login$ host yourserver.yourdomainname
    yourserver.yourdomainname has address 10.x.x.x
    yourserver:~ login$ host 10.x.x.x
    3.34.2.10.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer yourserver.yourdomainname
    yourserver:~ login$

  • I am trying to create a new profile, but I cannot open profile manager in Mac OS 10.5.8. I get the following error: "dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap".

    Hello,
I am trying to repair my Firefox profile, but I cannot open profile manager in Mac OS 10.5.8. When I follow the directions for opening profile manager in my Terminal utility, I get the following error: "dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap".
At this point, Firefox (v 5.0 or previous versions), is not running.
    Thanks.

[http://asqueella.blogspot.com/2010/12/dyld-unknown-required-load-command.html Here's an Explanation]. Basically you need to add "arch -i386 " at the beginning of the command because 10.5 is 32-bit only and more recent versions of Firefox default to 64-bit.

  • No users showing in Profile Manager portal

    OS 10.9.1, Server 3.0.1
Everything seems to be set up and running properly except that no users are showing in the Profile Manager portal.
Groups show proper numbers of users, but when looking for members they show nothing. The users pane indicates "no users."
Users can log in without problem. Appropriate settings are used by the computers, users, and groups.
Server.app and Workgroup Manager.app both show users and groups as expected.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Got fed up playing with settings. Decided to start over with Profile Manager.
In Server.app, Shut off Profile Manager.
In Terminal run as admin: /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/devicemgr/backend/wipeDB .sh
resetting to default empty Profile Manager
    In Server.app, restart Profile Manager.
Users available in the portal again.
    Manually redo all settings needed.

  • Change the display name of the Profile Manager Portal?

    Hello.
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the name that's displayed on the Profile Manager User Portal? It's using my server name and I'd rather it be something a little more generic? Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

  • "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." CANNOT open profile manager

    Using a Mac OS X Version 10.5.8
After some things were changed with server settings, this problem started. I cleared out firefox profiles in the Library. I did try the solutions given elsewhere on this page, but was unable to open the profile manager which seems to be the key. Have removed and reinstalled Firefox several times.

If by clearing profiles in the library means you just deleted them that could be a contributor to original problem and the problem with the File Manager not being able to find files. Above the Profiles folder is a Firefox folder and it contains profiles.ini file (and the Profiles folder) which consists of the names and locations of the profiles and and a number for order. This is the reason that it is best to let Firefox create a profile and then you can wipe out the content of the profile and replace it with backed up copy of a profile.

  • Firefox will not launch in any mode. I cannot open Profile manager to change to another profile. No change with delete and reload of program.

I've been using Firefox for years. Had this happen once before but was able to open the profile manager and change to a new profile. At this point I can't even do that. Suggestions??

[[Basic Troubleshooting]] has a "clean reinstall" section at the end that does not require you to open Firefox.
In any case, you should first take a look at the [[Firefox will not start]] article, which I mentioned in my first post. If that doesn't help, also check out http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser_will_not_start_up#Windows-specific_problems

  • Why is the Profile Manager web portal inaccessible after update to 3.2.1 ?

We run the Profile Manager in OS X as an MDM. We also use the Device Enrollment Program.
After updating to 3.2.1, the web portal for Profile Manager became inaccessible, and DEP checkbox in Profile Manager became unchecked.
I've attempted to re-enroll in the DEP, but it always rejects the Token I give.
I don't know if the two problems are related or not.
    Does anyone have a solution?
This is the log from the Profile Manager Service Log when I attempt to log in to the Profile Manager portal.

  • Profile cannot be loaded, profile manager cannot be accessed, firefox not working

This is somewhat similar to other listed profile manager problems but none of the answers worked for me. OS is Win 8-64 bit. Have 2 user accounts. Admin and Limited. In Admin, Firefox works, can access Profile Manager, there is this profile.ini etc. Everything ok.
But in the Limited account, can not access Firefox. When clicked, it says 'Your Firefox profile can not be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible'. Cannot access Profile Manager "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p. Gives the same error message (Firefox not running).
Tried copying files in the Admin in to Limited. But the error message is same.
Uninstalled and installed using the Limited Account (supplying Admin password), no result.
    Please help me.
    Thank you for your time.

  • Profile manager settings device management disabled error when enabling

    Hello,
I have installed OS-X Lion on a mac mini. Everything is working fine, including open ldap as a master where other imac can connect and use this ldap server for login.
However in profile management i try in the settings section to enable management of devices. When the wizard starts it asks me to enter the password for diradmin as this server needs a master ldap (is already there).
The wizard then mentions that this computer already has a master ldap server and i cannot continue installing device management in profile manager.
Probably because of this I cannot see devices in the profile manager portal.
Does anyone have a solution to solve this issue.
    Thanks
    Paul Bot

I would try demoting your Open Directory server from Master to Standalone in the Server Admin app - there's an assistant in Server Admin > Open Directory > Settings > General > click the change button.
Once it's demoted to a standalone, restart.
From there, don't create an OD Master again - go to Profile Manager in Server.app and run through the wizard again.  In the process, it will create an OD Master for you.
    Hope that helps,
    Chris

  • Why can't I turn profile manager on?

I just downloaded Lion Server and I am a complete novice. There is a pretty good chance I am doing something wrong, but basically I am trying to set up profile manager so I can get VPN access from my Mac at work to my network at home. From what I understand, profile manager can make this happen with ease, but for whatever reason I cannot turn profile manager on. It says its on in Server.app, but when I click to get to the web interface, it says the service is turned off. Anyone have any advice on how I can resolve this problem?
    Thanks in adavnce.

Have you tried connecting with HTTP instead of HTTPS?

  • How to open Profile Manager on OS X Lion

Trying to create a new profile and cannot open Profile Manager by using "/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -profilemanager" or any of several variations. Thought there might be another way to do it in Lion. Thanks.

I don't know what that's all about. Still looking for a solution.

  • IPSEC VPN Settings via Profile Manager

It is not possible to set the following lines via GUI in Apples ProfileManager or via Apple Configurator in the IPSec section:
    <key>XAuthPassword</key>
    <string>myVPNuserPassword</string>
You can set the lines via GUI in the old iPhone Configuration Program on Windows.
If you can't set the "XAuthPassword", you have to type in the password every time you want to establish the VPN.
We use certificates for device authentication.
    Anyone a solution ?

Yes, there are two possible solutions.
    1. As per my article here http://jelockwood.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/how-to-do-vpn-on-demand-for-ios-at-zero .html you would use a StrongSwan VPN server and as per my article use the xauth-noauth plugin to prevent it asking for a username and password, it will then only use the client certificate for device authentication.
    2. You can use the two keys listed above but you will have to manually edit the mobileconfig file and add them. Therefore you cannot use Profile Manager or Apple Configurator. For this I used iPhone Configuration Utility to create the initial mobileconfig file, and then I used TextWrangler to add the two keys. With a manually produced mobileconfig file I do not believe there is anyway to send it via Profile Manager but you can either email it to the device or make it available via a web server. Other MDM solutions than Profile Manager do allow pushing uploaded mobileconfig files, I used Meraki Systems Manager and pushed my hand edited mobileconfig files 'over the air' to the devices.
It should be noted that if you are authenticating usernames and password against a directory server e.g. Active-Directory, Open Directory or LDAP, then if you enforce password ageing and changes you are going to have to hand edit and resend an updated mobileconfig file with the new password in it. This is why I chose option 1 above for my own situation. It is in theory less secure as it only uses a single basis for authentication - the certificate but I felt this an acceptable trade-off.

  • Problems setting up Profile Manager

    Hi everyone,
I've got 35 iPads in one room and I'd like to be able to configure them to use Profile Manager. I am running OSX 10.7.3 and all the tools are up to date.
I cannot get Profile Manager to run on the iPads. Here's what I've done so far:
    - Enabled Profile Manager on the server
    - Created a Self-Signed Certificate using Server.app
    - Able to login to Profile Manager via the browser
I am stuck on the next part which is enroling the devices to Profile Manager. When I login to profile manager on the iPad, I get the option the "Enrol" the iPad, when I click "Enrol" I get the following error message:
"Unverified Profile" - "The authticity of "Device Enrollment" cannot be vertified. Installing this profile will change settings on your iPad.". I select 'Install Now', enter my passcode and I get this error: "The server certificate for "https://servername.domain/devicemanagment/api/device/ota_service" is invalid. When I press OK, I go back to the "Install Profile" window.
Has anyone had this issue before or know what's causing it? I suspect it's to do with certificates but I have created a Self-Signed one - do I need to do something else?
    Thanks is advance,

I had a similar issue before.  I had changed the cert so many times that my keychain started having issues; ended up reformating the drive and reinstalling server.
I set my server up with a public domain and bought a UCC certificate from go daddy.  Spending the money on a cert does bypass installing the whole trust profile as TeenTitan said.
    Here's how I did it:
    Setting up w/ Signed CA:
Establish your host name (ex. server.domain.com)
Don't turn on Profile Manager before setting up certs
Open Server.app, click on your server under "Hardware"
    Go to "Settings"
Click on "Edit" next to SSL Certificate
In the drop down screen click the gear wheel in the left corner, select "Manage Certificates"
Click the "+" in the window, Click "Create a Certificate Indentity"
In the Name field type in your servers host name (ex. server.example.com)
Click the check for "Let me override defaults"
Fill out the next two windows with your organization's info
Click through the next few windows leaving all the defaults until you get to the window labeled "Subject Alternate Name Extension"
In the "dNSName" field add the the following records: yourdomain.com; server.yourdomain.com; www.yourdomain.com; autodiscovery.yourdomain.com (you could add more if you plan on hosting mail, address book, etc..)
IMPORTANT- make sure you add those "dNSName"  addresses as Alternate name extensions when you are creating your SSL cert from an Authorized CA issuer like GoDaddy for example.
Click continue and finish creating your self generated cert
When you are finished you will return back to the Manage Certificates window and see your newly self generated SSL cert.
Click on the gear wheel and select "Generate Certificate Signing Request (CSR)"
    Copy the following text
    Close the window
Next, you need to go to your CA issuer and generate your cert.  Copy the text into the field for generating your own SSL cert.  (Your milage may vary in this process; I only know how to do it in GoDaddy)
After creating your cert, download it from your CA issuer's website.  You should have two files, one being your "gd_intermediate.crt" and the other "yourdomain.com.crt"
Go back to the Settings section in Server.app and select "Edit" in "SSL Certificate" section
click the gear wheel icon and select "Manage Certificates"
Highlight your self genereated ssl that you created in the last steps
click the gear wheel icon and select "Replaced Certificate With Signed Or Renewed Certificate"
drag the "gd_intermediate.crt" that you downloaded into the window
Allow the keychain to add the record
    Close Server.app
Open "Keychain Access" in your App folder
Click the lock in the bottom left corner and authenticate
In the top left pane select, under Keychains, "System"
in the bottom left pan, under Category, select "Certificates"
Drag the "yourdomain.com.crt" file that you downloaded from you CA issuer
    Close keychain
Go back to Server.app in the settings section
select your newly generated SSL cert as your primary cert
    Next, Enable Apple Push Notifications
    Go to Profile Manager
Configure your directory services  (I created an Open Directory Master)
Click Sign configuration profiles and choose your new SSL cert
Finally, turn on Profile Manager and if all goes well, you should be able to add your devices.
Hopefully this is helfpful; these were the steps I took to get my server going with a public address.
    Other Info:
iOS devices enrolled had iOS 5.0.1 or higher (Models 3GS, 4, 4S)
I had ports 1640 & 2195 open for Profile Manager on my router
    OS X Lion 10.7.3
Lion clients enrolled were 10.7.2 and up

  • Management Portal unavailable - "cannot load management data for this resource type"

Noticing that with the exception of virtual machines, every resource type in the (non preview) Azure Management Portal is showing a sad pink icon and the help text "cannot load management data for this resource type."
So that's a near total portal outage for us. Anybody else experiencing this?
I've attempted to open a ticket with developer support but I'm not sure if that's the right channel.
