On you iPhone, force close all the Apps in the multitask window.
Follow these steps to force an app to close:
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the to close it one by one until all cleared
Now do a Soft reset of your iPhone:
Hold both Home and Sleep button for around 10secs until you see the Apple logo then release. After it returns to Home screen, connect to sync and see if this resolves the issue.

ITunes cannot sync apps. with iPhone

Hi everyone!
I bought a new laptop lately, and I wanted to sync all the applications on the iphone with itunes, but it keeps saying, "please authorize your computer" - which I already did. Then all my apps disappeared from the phone, so I downloaded everything to iTunes again, and tried to sync, but it seems that the apps cannot be synced with the phone. I tried to download every program to the phone again, and then sync it again, but it still won't work. I reinstalled iTunes and visited the support page and tried everything regarding the authorization and deauthorization articles there (administration account, deleticn SC folder from program data etc), and it still does not work. I can see all the apps on the computer, but when I want to sync, it simply won't copy anything to the phone. So I have to download every program from app. store via my phone, and it works perfectly, until I connect the phone with the computer. I searched for an apple email address, but I cannot find anything (I live in Hungary, Europe, and I just realized that the apple support is really poor here).
Can somebody please help or just give me an official apple email address to write my problem to them as well?

I bought several apps, like 6 or 7, and the sync would error out, but the backups would be okay.
I guess I was trying to sync too many new applications at once. I ended up having to download my purchases via iTunes on my computer, then go to Apps on my iPhone in iTunes, and check one at a time, syncing after each, until all apps were installed.
If I tried to do anymore than one at a time, I would get iPhone not connected or trouble reading disk errors while syncing.

HT4137 session cannot be started with iphone

I'm running the latest itunes on a Windows 8 PC. When I connect my iphone 5, I receive a message stating that a session cannot be started with the iphone. I cannot back-up my device, as I get the same error message. I tried backing up to icloud using wi-fi, but receie a message that the backup cannot be completed. Can anyone help?

I found the answer...
Launch iTunes with your iPad connected to your Mac. Make sure the iPad is listed under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window.
From your iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.
If there is more then one backup available, delete all but one.
Restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Re-sync.

Cannot view table with spatial advisor

I have loaded a table using SafeFME software. It did not populate SDO_GEOMETRY.SDO_SRID during the conversion from ArcInfo coverage to Oracle8i Spatial SDO_GEOMETRY.
Since I could not view the spatial data with the spatial advisor, I ran the VALIDATE_LAYER procedure and found the error. At that point I INSERTed a value for SDO_SRID into my table, and into XXXX_SDO_GEOM_METADATA. Still cannot view the spatial data with spatial advisor. Why not?

Hi Dan:
the Spatial Index Advisor message at the lower part of the apps' frame says 'Drew 3701 geometries' after I attempt to "Draw all geometries" (third button down on the left).
After this, the viewport is blank. It is odd, though - it appears that the bounds are set correctly. When I add another "layer" and draw it, the viewport is referencing the correct area (the bounds for the first layer). This behavior occurs when the XXXX_SDO_GEOM_METADATA.SRID is either NULL or set to a value.
Our MapXtreme app shows the same behavior (no display of data, no error message).
I'll try to run the VALIDATE (layer and geometry) functions and procedures again.
We have loaded some data with the routine using shp2sdo.exe (like in the tutorials) and those are drawing just fine. Strange.

Cannot sync Calendar with iphone 3g/itunes

Not sure what happened but I cannot sync calendar with itunes.
Everything else works fine with syncing with Outlook 2007 through iTunes.
What specifically happens is everything will sync and when it gets to "syncing with calendar" the syncing process hangs, never completes.
Any help?

Try resetting the sync history. iTunes > Edit menu > Preferences > Devices tab, click the button. Then try syncing again.

ICal and Address Book no longer syncing with iPhone - HELP!

I am a long time Apple user and rely heavily on my iPhone to keep me where I need to be, when I need to be there. I have an iPhone 4 and it is running OS 6.0.1. Everything was working fabulously until recently. Sadly I don't know when the problems started--when I updated to OS 6 OR when I updated iTunes to version 11. Either way, my iCal and Address Book no longer sync with my iPhone. And to add insult to injury, my phone is no longer automatically detecting the AT&T microcell I have in my house. I have to reboot my phone every time I come back in the house--talk about annoying.
I am not super techy, so I am hoping someone can help me with this. I LIVE by my iPhone and as a self-employed person, I can't afford for this device to stop giving me information. I also don't want to do entries on my phone AND computer everytime something changes. I do not want to go back to the more reliable paper calendar and address book.
I have iCloud turned on, and it appears to sync my address book with my iPhone. But I seem to be a mess with iCal and my desktop. And between iCal/Adress Book on my computer and iPhone, nothing is talking.
HELP!!!!

I think my company updated Exchange on Friday and since then I cannot sync with Mac Mail, Entourage does not seem to be working either?

My IPhone broke yet again due to "known issues", so I am back to an android. But, I cannot text anyone who has an IPhone, had this issue previously and Apple nor my carrier helped out. I have removed my number on Apple.com, as told by my carrier which doesn't help. Also, the IPhone did a factory reset by itself and cannot get past the plug in with itunes screen, and the phone will not stay on when plug it into a computer.

You need to immediately change the password for the Apple ID, for starters. If have iCloud and Find My iphone enabled on the device you can remotely wipe the device. If you do not then there is nothing you can do except change the password for the account.

Cannot view web server logs in Server Admin

It has been a terrible day.
First, the interesting part:
I woke up to find that 25 sites that are hosted on an XServe G5 running OS X Server 10.3.9 had been defaced. As the part-time, unpaid admin of this server, it was my responsibility to track down the vulnerability in the system and restore the defaced files from backups. The hacker had replaced the index.html file for each of the sites with his own, special version, in which he proudly declared that my server had been owned. I did a Nessus scan of the server and came up with nothing. I pulled what was left of my hair out looking for every vulnerability I could come up with, and still nothing.
I then decided to use Google to get more information about him, using the name he proudly posted on the defaced sites, and was able to get his IM address. I proceeded to have an awkwardly pleasant conversation with him, in which he declared that he has discovered a new vulnerability and decided to try it out on my machine for the challenge. He apologized, but would not reveal the vulnerability (although he hinted that it had something to do with mod_security). He also promised to leave my machine alone now ....
(Now for the not so interesting part, and the nature of my current problem)
Anyway, I did what I could to clean up the mess, and wound up viewing the access logs in the Console app via ARD. That led me nowhere, so I decided to call it a night and logged out of ARD. A few minutes later, I thought I would log into ServerAdmin and take another look at those logs, but alas, they could no longer be viewed through ServerAdmin! The log section is empty. I ssh'd into the machine to see if he had broken his promise and messed around some more, but the logs still existed where they had always been. I ran tail -f on them to make sure they are still being updated, and they are.
So after all that, it seems my big problem at the moment is viewing logs in ServerAdmin. I did not make any changes to httpd.conf (outside of disabling mod_security, which commented out the appropriate LoadModule and AddModule lines). I also disabled a few other unnecessary mods earlier in the evening via ServerAdmin, but I doubt that any particular mod controls whether or not I can view log files in ServerAdmin.
I apologize for the length of this post, but it has been quite a day. If anyone can provide any clues as to either the location of error logs for the ServerAdmin app or any sort of known resolution to this issue, I would name my first born after you.

RegardsOverall, I agree but I don't understand your comment about "Loading logs into database will help if you need to keep them for long time". Even if needed for regulatory reasons, one can manage them quite nicely outside of the database.
Also to expand on this a bit for the OP .... if the need arose to use SQL to mine the logs for information that would be hard to get using the search feature of a simple text editor, one could always define an external table on an as-needed basis.

You need to remove the port 8080 from your URL. This is the port that Tomcat is usually listening on.Your ASPX pages are usually found on port 80. I believe this is your problem. Cannot send SMS with iPhone 5

Hi I have purchased a iPhone 5 from Hong Kong and I am using it in china. All works well except that I cannot send SMS (still can receive them)... I have contacted the apple support but I have no solution till now. I also asked China Unicom for help but they cannot find the problem... More over the activation of message and FaceTime doesn't : I can use iMessage and FaceTime but on settings the activation doesn't work. Did anyone have similar problem and was anyone able to find the good solution ?

Hello, I also have the same problem. My iPhone 5 is a from Hong Kong too! My iMessage doesn't work as well as FaceTime also. It keeps saying waiting for activation. I use china unicom too, tried contacting them but they couldn't solve the issue. But it many cases when I change my SIM card or insert mine to another phone , it suddenly activates. This is really frustrating because I can't check my credit balance at all or send urgent messages to people.
Anyone with a good suggestion?

Cannot email photos with iPhone

Hi.
Every time I try to email a photo I taken with my iPhone, I get the following message: "Cannot Sent Mail. A Cop has been place in your Outbox. The recipient 'Patricia Farrell'" (that's me! I'm not the recipient; I'm the sender!) "was rejected by the server."
I found a suggestion in one of the forums here about changing the settings for the gmail server so the the outgoing server port is 465 (it was 587). I tried that. It still won't work. Same message.
I am able to download the photos on my camera to my desktop. But if the camera on the iPhone has a function that allows one to email the photos, how do I get it to work? You can send photos with all other phones with cameras. Isn't that the point?

A couple of things to try.
if you have emails in your default email account (gmail), go into your outbox on the iphone and delete those emails.
Now, open settings>general>reset and reset network settings.
Only reset network settings if you know the passwords to any wifi networks you have set up on the iphone.
Once the iphone restarts, try sending a photo again.
Also, if you were connected to wifi when trying to send the photos, try turning wifi off.
To turn wifi off go to settings>wifi and tap on the slider to turn wifi off.
Then try sending a photo again.

View WCV80N with iphone or ipad?

So, after much headache trying to get the WCV80N setup (don't ask, wirless router, no ethernet ports, difficult to setup DYNDNS, etc.) I can now VIEW the blotchy video apparently remotely from a macbook pro, it spawns quicktime and shows me the stream.
I'm trying to use RTSP, which SEEMS to work, I mean the macbook pro is on another network, I type in the address
rtsp://myname.mylinksyscam.com/1xxxxx and I get a buffering and then streaming in Quicktime. this tells me that
A the wireless broadband router is setup to do whatever with ports 80.1024, 554, and 5000 to the camera, allowing the reattime stream to stream.
but, when I try to connect using safari on an iphone or ipad on the SAME LAN as the macbook pro, which SHOULD work, I get IMMEDIATLY a URL not VALID Error.
Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

D-Link DIR-615 cannot access wirelessly with iPhone 3G

I've added another router to my home to get better range in the far corners of the house. I added a D-Link DIR-615 hard wired to my first router. I can access this new router both by cable and wirelessly with my laptop, but not wirelessly with my iPhone.
I've tried making the password all letters, (saw a post that said numbers don't work??) and even taking out the password and leaving it blank. The iPhone sees the router and identifies it by name. When I try connecting, after entering the password, it says "unable to connect to network". IO can connect to my first router with the iPhone.
Any suggestions? I'm using WEP for encription, except when I tried it with no passwords! Thanks!

A few ideas:
Often the power on sequence is the determining factor in if/how DHCP will work. Especially when it comes to consumer-grade cable modems and routers. Try different power on sequences.
Try to figure out if your cable modem is storing and enforcing the MAC address of one of your devices. Take the router out of the picture, attach your MBP, and see if it works. Then leave the modem on, unhook the MBP, and plug in a Windows laptop. If it doesn't work, then your modem wants/needs to only see one MAC address. If this is the case, look in your routers settings for "Spoof this computer's MAC Address" and you should be good to go.
One trick I've used in the past is to assign an entirely new subnet for the router to hand out. For example if it used to give out 192.168.1.x, the new subnet would be set to 10.1.1.x. This forces every system and rebuild its caches. Too many times routers, controllers, OSes, apps, and even hardware like phones keep caches to help speed things up. It's not always obvious how to reset these. But by switching subnets you force every device to rebuild the caches.
