Canon 4080i can't access booklet printing - Legal or Tabloid

I used to be able to do booklet printing on both Legal and Tabloid size paper. Now I only get that for Letter sized paper. Did the drivers change to disallow that or am I missing something like maybe a setting on the printer itself? Color imageRunner 4080i with AH1 and W2 over the network. Any help would be appreciated. I see that if I do it through Parallels and windowze I see those options in the print dialog there.

Having said that, what you are telling me is to specify the folded page size as the paper size and that won't work.
Well it sort of works for me.
With a multiple page document open in Preview, I can set the Paper Size to US Letter. I then change to the Finishing menu and select Booklet and Saddle Stitch. When I then print the job the machine errors, prompting me to load 11" x 17", which is obviously the size needed to fit two Letter size pages to a sheet to make the booklet.
If I then created a Custom Paper size of 7" x 8.5" so that I could 'use' Legal for the booklet sheet, I did find that the Booklet selection was not available. This was the case for the UFR2 and PS3 driver. Interesting side note is that the iR C5185 using the imagePASS-H1 does support the printing of booklets using Legal paper (at least through the driver it appears to support it).
So as you have found there does appear to be a limitation with the latest drivers to create a booklet using Legal paper. But booklet printing on 11x17 with Letter sized originals appears to be available with both the UFR2 and PS3 driver.

  • How can we access the 'print booklet' options in CS6 without a printer online?

    I cannot access the print setup option in ‘print booklet’ in CS6 to change the paper/image orientation from portrait to landscape. I am trying to save it as a .ps file so I can take a print ready pdf to the printers. But the resulting pdf that saves now is cropping my A4 (to be A5 after stapled) 2up saddle stitched booklet. As in the spread stays landscape, but the A4 paper in portrait. Can anyone help me please?

  • HP C410B Photosmart all-in-one - I can't access the printer's web server

    This printer is working OK as a printer via its network connection and I can see it on the network when I do a scan.
    I can also 'ping' the printer OK.
    However I can't connect to its web server for configuration or to start a scan from the computer etc.  When I
    try to connect from my web browser it just sits there saying 'Connecting' but nothing happens.  I can 'ping'
    the printer OK.
    I have tried stopping and re-starting the printer but that didn't help.
    Any ideas anyone?

    I would try a couple of things.  Have you tried a different browser? Have you tried with your firewall disabled?
    Let me know how it goes.

  • XP Mode can't access parallel printer connected with USB to DB-25 adapter

    After some arduous work I finally got XP Mode to run on Windows 7 Virtual PC on my Win 7 Pro 64-bit machine. I have an HP LJ 4000 printer that has a Centronics interface with a DB-25 plug.
    I used a USB to DB-25 adapter advertised as IEEE 1284-compliant.. I got the LaserJet 4000 installed, and it prints great from Windows 7. But nothing can print to it in XP Mode. The printer is recognized on the (XP Mode) Printers and Faxes page, but that's
    as far as it goes. It is installed as the default printer (it's the only one in XP Mode; I didn't bother to install any others). The Win 7 Device Manager lists it under Universal Serial Bus Controllers as a "USB Printing Support" device and says it is working
    properly. General properties shows "IEEE-1284 Controller." The XP Mode Device Manager shows an LPT1 port (which does not exist) and says it is working properly. Location is shown as "on Intel 82371AB/EB PCI to ISA bridge (ISA mode)." I haven't a clue what
    this means (my motherboard is an ASRock and does not have any LPT ports). The Printer Troubleshooter in XP Mode exhausted itself without finding a solution. I first used the drivers for Windows 95 from the old (1997) HP installation CD for LJ 4000. I did update
    the HP LJ 4000 drivers for XP Mode from HP's web site later, but this did not help either.

    Hi ,
    In a Windows XP Mode, USB devices can be used in two different ways: Sharing and Redirection and
    Integration features is enabled by default.
    Storage devices, Printers and Smart cards can be used without having to redirect the device manually, by simply sharing it with the host.
    Sharing requires the devices are available in both XP Mode and Host OS. If not, you need to use redirect device to Virtual Machine.
    Please refer to the following link and follow the steps scenario 2: Use a USB device in a virtual machine to redirect a USB device to a virtual machine.

  • CM1015 on wireless print server; ToolboxFX Can't access

    (This is crossposted at the Business Support forum as well).
    I have the CM1015 connected via a Netgear WGPS606 wireless print server. Using the Netgear installation util, the IP connection and printing to it work fine. Success there.
    However, ToolboxFX can't access the printer, taking a v-e-r-y- long time to respond before throwing an error msg: The server could not find the request. (404) ...Please cycle power bla bla... Of course cycling power doesn't help.
    The topic at
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=115&prodSeriesId=1846080&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=1846080&objectID=c00785211
    seems almost relevant, but not really, as the only IP I have is for the print server, not the CM1015 itself. Needless to say, scan-to-remote computer does not work. Disabling the OS firewall does not solve the problem.
    Anybody run across a solution for what should be a common problem?
    The drift from other frustrated users here seems to be that using a CM1017 connected to a wireless router might get you there. But, like other midrange printers (eg certain Canons), the CM1015 was never really meant to be networked. HP seem mute on the subject...

    I opted to use ".com.na" in which case the Internal Domain Name and Internet Website
    now has the same name.
    This ends up with a split-DNS stup for internal and external resolution which requires extra administration tasks and attention from the administrators.
    When attempting to open the extarnal website eg. "www.company.com.na" from a client PC within the internal "company.com.na" Domain, I keep getting error "403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view
    this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied."
    I should also mention, the website is hosted by an ISP and not locally.
    I added a "www" Host record in the Forward Lookup Zone, I have added the url and ip address to the Hosts file on a client pc (Windows 7) and even tried setting up Split-Brains DNS. Nothing seems to work.
    Running a Tracert takes me to the correct public ip address of the website, but I keep getting this 403 error.
    This means that you are able to reach the Website but it is responding with the access denied error message. That should be checked on the middleware level so if this is IIS running then I would recommend asking them in IIS forum: http://forums.iis.net/
    If this is a Website that is completely managed by your ISP then I would recommend checking with them.

    There is no page setup in iOS. Some apps such as Pages let you pick a page size. Some apps fo not.

  • Epson 960 works well but can't access printer ink utility

    I set up an Airport Express wireless network last night and hooked up my Epson 960. It works well but I can't access the printer ink utility. The printer is missing from the utility listing so I can't clean the heads or check ink levels.
    Any suggestions or experiences that may help?
    Thanks!

    Thanks, that was what I was having to do.
    It is kind of misleading to claim wireless printing capability only to have one way communication. Hopefully Apple will "fix" this issue in the future.
    Makes it very inconvenient when printing photos or DVDs as I always do a nozzle check first to make sure nothing is clogged and keep from wasting a good (and expensive) sheet of photo paper or a burned DVD.

  • Can't access printer. updated to firefox 5.0

    running windows 7 . updated FF 5.0. may have changed/deleted some add ons or plug ins. Can't access my printer which is on a home network. printer working....copy & pasted stuff from hotmail to microsoft word ok. I am 62 years old and " technologically challenged" according to my daughters. Went to FF add ons, extensions, plug ins. Is printer supposed to be included there? One (older?) HP smart web printing 4.60 is supposed to be enabled. Is there supposed to be a driver enabled for the printer shown on the add ons or plug-ins? HELP!

  • Wifi network and iphone accessing to printer

    Hi, I have a wifi network (non mac) at home onto which is related a HP printer.
    Can I access the printer through my Iphone, say to print a pdf file received via e-mail that I oppened on my mobile device for example ?

    Not really, no. The iPhone does not have printer drivers, so you cannot print documents, etc., from it. With an HP printer with Wi-Fi, you can print photos (only photos, not documents) using an App from HP:
    http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=299531647&mt=8
    Also, note that you can take a screenshot on your iPhone (quick press of home and sleep/wake buttons), which is saved as a photo, and that can be printed using the above app. But, you are limited to one iPhone screen per printout.

  • How can I access eBay pages marked "blocked due to legal restrictions of some countries"/ All other browsers do not block.

    Using Vista Ultimate 64x and Firefox (any version) I keep hitting eBay page blocks that read "Unfortunately, access to this particular item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in some countries..." These same pages can be accessed with IE or Chrome so it is not really a legal restriction.
    How can I get Firefox to allow these eBay pages to display? I include the url of one blocked page.
    This happens on eBay and eBay-UK

    Prohibited and restricted items over view for eBay...Link to

    Beware of items as they relate to Cuba... Some Cuban items can be sold in the US, while others cannot be sold in the US....based on US government regulations.
    No restrictions for Canada...with respect to anything from Cuba
    Then there are country restrictions  as identified by Canada Post... Link to

    A most interesting situation
    A box that originally contained Cuban Cigars, was overprinted to read Coban Cigars, an obvious overprint, missed on first inspection...
    It is always important to know what is not acceptable....
    another situation..
    France has a restriction on receipt of toys made in China.... always state country of origin
    Also be aware of country specific restrictions
    Sometimes things may not be too obvious  such a publisher with a Canadian address, that had a book printed in China....Hong Kong or elsewhere....not in Canada

  • HT1391 How can I read and print digital booklets that are downloaded togheter with the recordings I purchased

    How can I read and print digital booklets that are downloaded togheter with the albuns I bought?

    cu is right.
    classloader returns the URL of your resource. You can the jar using something like the following...
    ClassLoader classloader = this.getClassLoader();
    url = classloader.getResource("your_resouces...");
    if(url == null)
    System.out.println("cannot find resource ");
    return null;
    String jar = url.getFile();
    jar = jar.substring(jar.indexOf("/")+1, jar.lastIndexOf("!")).replace('/', '\\');
    obviously, this code snippet works on windows only. Now you have the jar file path. I use Jar file classes to access the jar file. (e.g. you can search for each class files)
