Canon 5D MarkII Raw not supported now?

I have been using LR for several years and suddenly today it's saying that the raw file isn't supported.  I've never had that problem before.  I can see the image thumbnails on the import screen when I"m setting up the subfolder I want to save it to, but then during the import I get this message.  I thought maybe I needed to update my software, but it says it is up-to-date.  Help??

Since I import hundreds of 5D2 CR2 files almost every day, I can testify that they continue to be supported. Incidently, Canon Raw files are compressed but that is not something that could be changed accidently. Moreover, sRaw1 and sRaw2 files are fully supported. I would suggest that your files are being corrupted on the way from the camera to LR and being made unrecognizable. The culprit could be the camera, faulty usb cable(s), a card reader, a usb hub or a usb portal on your computer, or a hard drive that is on the verge of failing. You will have to do some detective work, eliminating variables until you catch the perp.

The type of Raw File used in my Canon 7D MKll is not supported in Camera Raw, Adobe Bridge or Photoshop 5S. How do I fix this?

I gather you are using Photoshop CS5? The most recent Camera Raw version that CS5 will accept is ACR 6.7. Support for the Canon 7D Mark II was added in ACR 8.7.1. You will have to use the DNG converter to covert your CR2 files to the universal DNG raw format. Here are the links for the DNG converter:

  • Panasonic tz60 raw not supported in Aperture 3. How to fix?

panasonic tz60 raw not supported in Aperture 3. How to fix?
Aperture's raw support is camera specific. The list of currently supported cameras is here:
Apple - Aperture - Technical Specifications - RAW Support
Apple focusses on cameras, that are most likely used by professionals. Your camera is an excellent camera, and I wish I had it, but so far none of the cameras in the Panasonic Lumix tz-family have been supported in Aperture.  So send feedback to Apple, that you want this camera to be supported.  You can use this form for a feature request:  Apple - Aperture - Feedback
To be able to use your raw files in Aperture, you could try a few work-arounds:
Use the software, that came with your camera, to convert the files to another lossless format, eg. TIFF.
Or do, what I am doing with the raws from my Lumix FZ28 - download the free Adobe DNG converter and convert your RAWS to DNG format:  Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh, I don't know, if that will work for your tz60 files, but give it a try.
If you have hopes, that Apple will support the camera soon, shoot RAW&JPEG for the time being, and work with the JPEGs, until hopefully the raw support will be released.

  • Elements 11 Camera Raw not supporting new Canon EOS 7D MkII.

When I try to open a Raw file from my new camera I get the message
'Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documents for additional information'
I've updated my Elements 11 and restarted the computer (Windows 7), but the problem persists.
    Any solutions?
I could open the file with Canon software (DPP) and transfer it to elements, but I'd sooner not - it's a rather clunky process.@

    Hi,
I think that Adobe do the best job they can. Adobe aren't treated any different from you or I by the camera manufacturers - they don't get any privileged information - they have to wait until they can get their hands on a camera the same as you or I.
If you want to blame someone then direct your blame on the camera manufacturers. If their raw files were written in DNG format then there would not be any problems or delays.
Just think, if nobody bought the new cameras for two months after they were being shipped, the camera manufacturers might change their attitude and cooperate with Adobe.
I don't think it will be too long before and update is released by Adobe. In the meantime, you can use the Canon DPP to convert the raw files or shoot in JPG to get familiar with the controls and settings.

  • Opening Canon 5d MarkIII raw files in CS4?

I'm unable to find an update that will allow me to open Canon 5d Mark III raw files in CS4. I've downloaded a few updates, but nothing seems to be working. Help!

Convert the 5D Mark III Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS4.

To edit 5D Mark III Raw files, you need at least ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 6.7 (preferably 7.1). ACR is a plugin for Photoshop which Adobe must continually update on a camera by camera basis.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cam eras.html
CS6 was the first version to support ACR 7.1. CS5 supported ACR 6.x.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applic ations.html
If you really want to edit Raw files, you would now be required to join the Creative Cloud since CS4 is no longer eligible to upgrade to CS6 or any version thereafter.
Your other option would be to buy a new full version of Photoshop CS6 (superseded today by the new version Photoshop CC which is only available via the Adobe Cloud).

  • New Sony NEX-F3K - RAW not supported?

I JUST bought a brand new Sony NEX-F3K thinking that the .ARW format would be compatible (Apple lists the NEX family .ARW format as compatible).  Has anyone else found that this format is not supported?  I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

.ARW is not a format.  It's a family of formats.  RAW files are goofy this way.
If the camera is not expliclitly listed on the Aperture page (by name), it's not supported and likely won't work.
If you want to know if or when it will be supported, that's something nobody here can answer.  Apple doesn't release any information like that, despite many people here asking ;-)

  • Canon EOS 40D sRAW not supported

When I use sRAW with the Canon EOS 40D, sRAW format (1936 x 1288) comes back with "Invalid Image Format", when importing. Online postings imply that other Canon cameras, such as the EOS 5D Mark II, have the same issue. I am running the latest Aperture 2.1.3, with all updates. Any way to fix this, save for waiting for an update?

    Guys
    sRAW is not supported
Do a search of the forum - it has been covered loads of times
It is not mentioned as a supported format on the Aperture site
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/#formats
Try using the feedback menu option in Aperture
    Hope this helps

  • Canon hf11 error file not supported in cs4

I have the Canon HF11.  I have tried to import avchd files via the media browser and get the error message:  files not supported.  I have upgraded to 4.01.  The files can import successfully into IMovie 09.  I originally had the trial version installed, but I have uninstalled it via the uninstaller, and have installed the retail version.  Could this be causing the problem?  If so, any solutions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Rhonda

I uninstalled cs4 and downloaded the cleanup script.  The program found the cs4 installation, but no files were listed to clean-up.  The right bottom box was grayed-out.

  • Just bought Fuji HS50EXR.  Raw not supported?

I just bought a Fuji HS50EXR and when I wanted to open in Raw Photoshop said It was not supported in CS 5.  Can I get a  plugin?

You can use the free Adobe DNG Converter 8.1 to convert your raw files to DNGs that an older Camera Raw plug-in from CS5 will understand, OR starting Monday you can pay $20/month for a single-app subscription and choose Photoshop-CC as that single app and use PS-CC and ACR 8.1 to open your raw files.  PS-CS6 will also host ACR 8.1 to open those files, but I don’t know if you can find a link to buy it with so close to the roll-out of Adobe’s monthly-only pricing for PS going forward.  Until the end of July your purchase of PS-CC or another app will only cost $10/month fro the first year, but then go up to $20/month if you renew for another year.
You could also get a limited version of CR 7.4, that only allows toning, noise-reduction, camera-profile selection, if you get Photoshop Elements, or you can buy Lightroom 5 and get all the features in ACR and them some, and use Edit in PS CS5 to do any final edits.

  • High ISO a6000 RAW Not Supported?

I took the same photo with my Sony a6000 at every ISO interval, then sorted them by ISO value in Aperture and learned every RAW I took above ISO 1250 returned an "Unsupported Image Format" error. This is a problem because I'm a concert photographer and much of my work is in low-light. What is breaking, my camera, or Aperture? How does one fix this? Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

I have just found a solution (at least for me) in another thread:
RAW files suddenly show up as "not supported" (Aperture 3.5.1, OS X 10.10)
    Hope this helps you too
The instructions in the other thread mention RAW support version 5.06 specifically, but I tried with the latest (5.07) and that worked fine.

  • Camera Raw will not open my Canon 7D MarkII raw files

Hello! I recently got a Canon 7D Mark II for Christmas and took my first photo today. When I try to open my RAW file in photoshop it says it cannot open that file type, check to make sure  your updates are current. I did this and it says they are for both Bridge and Photoshop. I checked to make sure my camera is on the list for compatibility and it is. Do not know what else to do. I have a PC and Adobe Photoshop CS6. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You need ACR 8.7.1 to support your 7D Mark II. Here is the link: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html

  • My Canon selphy CP800 is not support by OS X Lion.  Now what?

I recently upgraded to Lion.  I have a Canon Selphy CP800 photo printer, and I am unable to print photos.  Canon does not have a driver for this.  Canon Support worked with me to try and get around this stumbling block to no avail.  Does anyone out there have a solution?

    After downloading this driver
file:///Users/winfordb/Downloads/SELPHY%20CP%20series%20Printer%20driver_6.2.0.1 .pkg I tried installing it and got the message "cannot install this driver it is not compatible with your os" I called canon suport and received the following instructions. " Control click on the downloaded package and then follow the instructions. I have a macbook pro running mavericks. IT WORKED! Don't connect the usb cable to your printer and computer until after the driver has installed. If you have the printer working via wi fi then this installation may show as CP900-2

  • Will there be Canon 5D Mk3 RAW plugin support for Photoshop CS4?

I have Photoshop CS4, and have not upgraded to CS5. I have a Canon 5D MkIII, and I currently am unable to process the RAW images.

    AnysiaC wrote:
But CS6/ACR can't read the 5Dmk3 raw files.Hope this is updated before the CS6 release date.
Many people do, and I'd be kind of surprised if they didn't update it to at least match the support in the 6.7 RC - but they may not, instead relying on the update mechanism to deliver new camera support down the line some time.
It's all a big pipeline that just keeps flowing.
