Canon 6d wireless flash

I have a canon 6d and i want to use it wirelessly with my yongnuo speedlite YN560-III ..i donot have a trigger and want to use my wifi as a means for triggering my flash,is it possible??

Since you don't have an E-TTL capable flash, the triggers are less expensive.  You can find low-end triggers for less than $30 for a pair. On the high-end of things, Pocket Wizard Plus III's are around $150 each.
I don't have experience with these -- I have Canon 600EX-RT flashes and radio trigger.  But from what I've come to understand, if you inspect a Pocket Wizard you can see they use a fairly good durable build quality and they're highly reliable. They can take a bit of abuse and not break.  As the price tag goes down, the build quality goes down.  I might not want to abuse a pair of $30 triggers they way the expensive triggers can be abused.  Higher end triggers often support multiple "groups" so if you have a lot of lights you can independently choose which lights should fire without having to walk over to the lights to enable/disables the modules -- you just select the groups that you want to fire.
Also... there are a lot of things that have Pocket Wizard integration because of their popularity.  My Sekonic light meter, for example, has a Pocket Wizard radio trigger built-in so that I can meter a subject using incident lighting and force the flashes to fire so it can meter the lighting as measured at the subject position.  Some studio lights have pocket wizard triggers built-in.
To use wireless triggers you typically need two... a transmitter and a receiver.  But some of are "transceivers" (meaning you have two identical modules that can either transmit or receive -- not one module dedicated to transmitting and another module dedicated to receiving.)  One attaches to the hot-shoe on the camera.  The other attaches either to the foot of the flash, or uses a sync cord to plug into the socket on the flash.
There are optical triggers too... and these are usually less expsnive.  BUT... optical requires line of sight.  Radio triggers don't require line of sight which gives them a tremendous advantage.

  • Canon MX340 wireless printer no longer connecting over wireless and coming up with "a communications error has occured"

I have a Canon MX340 wireless printer and have only recently started having trouble printing over the wireless connection. No settings have changed on my MacBook Pro, the printer, the router or the wifi connection and it is strange how it has just stopped working. I have tried things like restarting the laptop and removing the printer from the laptop and re-adding it. It sometimes seems to work for maybe one print but then it goes back to saying "a communications error has occured", when I try to print again.
Any help would be great. Thanks

I had the same MX340 problem.  My printer was working fine over WiFi connection to my Airport Extreme for years and then suddenly, about a month ago, it stopped printing after the first print job.  I can print once and then I have to power-cycle the printer to get it to print another time and then I have to repeat the power-cycle.
The printer seems to be "forgotten" by the network or lose its connection after the first print job.
On my MacBookPro 10.6.8 I get the error code 300...yadayadayad... On my iMac 10.5.8 it just says :communications error".
HERE IS THE FIX - I got it off this link - http://www.techsurvivors.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=24681
You have to connect to the MX340 using the printer cable that came with the printer (or any USB printer cable) and set up a hardwired USB printer queue.  Then print a couple of print jobs - I use TextEdit and type in "1234".  Then try the same thing but select your WiFi print queue - I just type another line on the same sheet of paper with TextEdit.
The WiFi connection should work again.  I did this a few more times and then disconnected the USB cable and now it continues to work without the USB print queue being used.  I can also print to the WiFi queue with my iMac.
If you still have problems I suggest you set up the printer again on the WiFi router using the "print cable connection" method.  Here's a link to a webpage someone kindly provided instructions for the process:

  • How do I connect my HP 7 1800 (Mesquite) Tablet to my Canon MP495 wireless printer?

I have a new HP 7 1800 tablet and want to print to my Canon MP495 wireless printer.  I already have other
PC's and laptops using the wireless printing, but don't know how to get my Tablet set up for the wireless printing.
Should I direct connect from my printer to the tablet to make the initial set up? Or, is there an app I'm not finding on the Canon site for this purpose?   I'd appreciate any help.

    Hi JAC63!
Welcome to the Canon Forums! If your tablet is an Android device, you should be able to find the app by going to  http://bit.ly/CanonMobileApps
That's where we keep all of our mobile apps. Depending on your needs and printer model will determine the app  you'll download! If you have other questions, just let us know!

  • HT4356 app for canon mx870 wireless printer to convert to air printer

Is there an app to enable a Canon MX870 Wireless Printer to be used as an Airprinter for IPad2

    Val85-
I suggest you look for a Canon App at the iTunes App store.  It will have limitations, but should get you printing.
There are other printing Apps with more features such as Print n Share or PrintCentral, but they can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option.  These include their own mail, browser, photo and text programs.  In other words, they do not provide true AirPrint capability.
Depending on your situation, a better option may be to run a program on your computer that will share its printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  Programs such as Printopia and FingerPrint can do that, and are reported to work well.  Your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print.  <Printopia for Macintosh> <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>

  • Transfer photos using SanDisk Connect Wireless flash drive

How are photos viewed when transferred from my iPhone to a SanDisk Connect Wireless flash drive and then to my iPad or my PC. Are they placed in the camera roll like all other photos?
are photos transferred from the device directly to the camera roll?
are the transferred photos then native on the iPad? Or only viewed through the SanDisk device?
once photos are transferred from iPhone to SanDisk can I transfer to the iPad and view them as if they were taken on the iPad?
can I select ALL photos from my iPhone and transfer them ALL easily to the SanDisk and the other way around? Then transfer ALL to my iPad?

  • What is the best wireless flash for t3i?

I have a rebel t3i and want a good wireless flash, what is recommended?

    Hi Chrisvanderhoof,
The Speedlite 270EX II, Speedlite 320 EX, Speedlite 430EX II and Speedlite 600EX-RT are all good choices when coupled with your Speedlite Transmitter-equipped EOS Rebel T3i.
It's really not possible to tell you which of these flash units is best without knowing something of how you shoot.
For simple shots the The Speedlite 270EX II may suffice nicely where as you may want the The Speedlite 600EX-RT for more advanced setups.

  • Speedlite 430EX and canon 7D wireless

I try my speedlite 430EX wirelessly using my Canon 7D to go off through the flash menu. Now that all works but when I make a picture in the mirror I see the internal flash on the picture. Is it not true that the internal flash to go off a little earlier.

I have seen similar myself with other master flashes set not to fire as part of the exposure.
My take is that as the master flash (pop-up on your 7D) needs to send the pulses of light to the slave flashes then it is still emitting a low level of light due to the tail-off effect. It had to send the "fire now all you slaves" command right before the shutter opened, or even as the shutter opened. Hence it shows up in a mirror, but actually it's usually of such a low level that it won't impact the picture.

  • I'm trying to share a new Canon printer wirelessly between my HP laptop and my iMac.  I've successfully printed from both computers, but, I get errors trying to print on one after I've printed on the other.  Any ideas on how to get them to both to print?

I installed a new Canon printer several months ago that I was told by the salesman could be shared between my iMAC and HP laptop.  I have successfully used the printer wirelessly from both computers, however, it gets hung up switching between the two and I'm not sure what to do to get it to be consistent.  Any ideas?

You didn't state how it's connected to each computer, if it's connected through your router then it should work. If it doesn't then you need to contact Canon and ask for assistance.

  • Can't connect Canon MP560 wirelessly using Airport Extreme with MacBook Pro

My Canon MP560 is failing to connect to the access point.  It recognizes the access point/network I would like to connect to but when I enter in my password it fails to connect and tells me to check access point settings.  I used this exact same printer but different router in my old house and everything worked well!  I'm thinking this is a Mac thing that I can't seem to figure out.  I have the lastest Canon driver updates for Mac and use 10.6.8 software on my Macbook Pro.
This is how the printer instructs me on the panel.
    a. Select Wireless LAN setup
    b. Select Easy Settings
    c. Select Access Point
    d. Enter Password
    e. Fails to connect..........
    Please help.
    Brice.

    Hi Tesserax,

    i have a airport express.
    i was following your instructions:
''To get to this feature within the AirPort Utility, go to the utility's menu bar and first choose Base Station, and then, Add Wireless Clients...''
the problem is, base station is in light gray and i can't click on it.
i re-plugged my printer into my imac so it detects it again. (it still says printer offline in settings)
i have no clue what to do.

  • HOW TO MAKE CANON MP480 WIRELESS

is there a way to make my canon mp480 printer wireless through my wirless router, also using an apple macbook?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're all users here.
Some wireless routers have USB ports specifically intended to share peripherals such as printers and external hard drives. Check your wireless router manual.
Many new printers with built-in WiFi are quite inexpensive, especially compared to the cost of a set of ink cartridges! Canon Direct also sells refurbished recent printers from their website, often at substantial discounts. I recently purchased a refurbished MG5320 for $50. It may be time to invest in a new printer.
And this archived discussion from 2009 might help, if you're using an Apple Extreme base station:

  • Canon MG5250 wireless printing

I have a canon MG5250 and since changing to BT Infinity I have been unable to print wirelessly.  I have assigned the printer a static IP address outside of the DHCP range.  I have entered the passkey on the printer and it has connected to the BT Home Hub.  However, I cannot see the printer on the wireless network, I  cannot ping the printer from any of the other devices on the wireless network.
Anyone else had a similar problem and have any suggestions on how to solve this?

I had a problem like this and the answer was that my Canon printer (an IP7250) supports IPv6 as does my laptop, but the BT Home Hub does not.
    Solution based on Windows 7
In Diivices & Printers, right click the printer icon and select Properties
    Go to the Wireless tab
Under Webpage hopefully there is a web link to your printer clicking on this will connect to the CAnon Network Configuration.
Go to Advanced and Network settings
There is a button to Disable IPv6
and hay presto everything started to work.
From time to time I still have to turn the printer off and on to refresh the connection.

  • Canon MP800R Wireless MFP - How to install?

    Dear Forum,
I have a Canon PiXMA MP800R wireless multi-function printer, working fine on my Windows machines but I can't seems to get any joy installing it on OS X. I don't have the Mac driver CD that come with the printer as I didn't have a Mac at the time, so I downloaded all the software from Canon.co.uk, ran each setup one-by-one but nothing. The printer OS X setup cannot seem to find my printer. I am trying to set it up totally wireless (as expected), I tried setup via USB and that seems okay, but doesn't provide me with any additional steps to set it up wirelessly... can anyone help??

    Hello Shaun,
Greg is correct with the More Printers selection. After you click More Printers, click on the top menu and select Canon IJ Network. If you are already using the printer wirelessly with the PC then this menu window should display the MP800R, probably with its Ethernet address in brackets immediately after the model name.
If the MP800R doesn't appear in the list, then I would connect it back via USB and then navigate to /Library/Printers/Canon/BJPrinter/Utilities and open the Canon IJ Network Tool. This will let you check the configuration of the wireless settings so that you can ensure the Mac is on the same network.

  • GPS & Canon 40d Wireless Transmitter-Import elevation also.

PC: I shoot RAW using a Canon 40d with the Wireless Transmitter, which uses a usb connection between my Garmin gps and the WT. LR includes the gps coordinate information in the metadata, allowing me to click on the field and be taken to Google Maps.
The frustrating part: Canon shows the *elevation* data (albeit in meters) when viewing the image in the camera, but LR won't import it. Ideally, Canon should also import the electronic compass bearing from the gps, and LR should import both data.
[Compass bearing is helpful for taking time-differentiated photos of the same area (e.g., 4-season photos), and elevation is handy for GIS use.]
Does anyone have an idea of *how* LR imports the gps data?

I'd also be very interested in learning this.
Don - if nobody replies to your thread or offers any suggestions it might be worth your while posting something along these lines in the features request. Who knows, perhaps the LR team will add some more functionality to the GPS input data in a future version.

  • Canon Rebel T3i flash error

I am on my second Canon Rebel T3i. Out of the blue I get the Err 05 that the flash can not be raised. I turn it off and back on like it says but that doesn't help. Same thing happened with my first one only a month after I had it. This camera is less than a year old and doing this. Why? Do I have to send it away to be fixed?

There was an issue where the camera thinks an external flash is connected. You can check under the metal brackets where a shoe-bracket flash would go to see if the little button is being pushed down and blow some compressed air over it. If that doesn't help, you'll probably need to send it in for a defective flash release.
Although I do work for the Geek Squad, all comments and opinions are my own.
