Canon 8400F question-scanning mulitple photos

Hi,
I recently got a Canon 8400F scanner and have a question.
I can scan photos into the scanner fine. If I put one photo on the scanner glass, I get 1 scanned photo jpeg. If I put 4 photos on the scanner glass I get 1 jpeg. I have hunted around some and can't figure out how to scan 4 pictures at a time and have the software separate the 4 pictures into 4 jpegs. I really need some help here.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Question about the Canon 8400F and scanning large photo albums

Hi,
Besides scanning negatives, slides, and individual photos, I will be visiting one of my relatives who is the "keeper" of some big family photo albums. If I recall correctly, the albums are pretty large and there are quite a few pictures on each page. I think (?) the pictures are permanently on the pages. Will this be a problems scanning the pictures in?
I think the albums are about the width of a full size keyboard and about twice the heigth.
Any help here would be appreciated. I do hope the pages can be individually removed one at a time from the album, but I do think that the pictures are permanently attached to the pages.

Your only problem will be in positioning the album on the scanner. The included CanoScan software allows you to scan in multiple photos and the software automatically separates them.

Want to scan multiple photos on HP c309 series as individual files; the box to allow is greyed out.

I'm using an HP Photosmart C309A All in one. I use Windows 7. I have multiple photos to scan and want them to scan as individual files. I did that previously several months ago with no problem. The box which should allow me to do so is not available to check. It is grayed out.
Anything to try would be appreciated.

I noticed that you want to scan multiple photos on your HP Photosmart c309 as individual files, but the box to allow it is greyed out. I am happy to help!
This sounds as if there is a driver/software issue with your printer software. I would recommend the following:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Re-install using the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Multiple scanning of photos

Soooooo, since I've learned that my Officejet 4500 and other printers with the "newer" drivers don't scan multimple photos and separate them out as my old HP Officejet J6480. My question now is -
IS THERE A HP SCANNER/PRINTER THAT WILL DO THIS EFFICIENTLY?? or do I have to go over to Cannon or Lexmark or somethiing?
And, no --- the odd - break-it-apart 'solution' offered is not what I call efficent. I wan'na stick'em on the glass, and pick them up the way I used to.

This feature has been implemented in 2013/2014 HP Printers, where you can scan multiple photos at a time.

Can you post the photo so we can see what you are talking about.
Not sure of this is the same as what you have, but when I scan DVD Covers for my DVD Cataloguing program I'm too lazy to take them out of their slipcases. The scans always look a bit milky, because of the plastic, but I've found that Enhance> Auto Smart Tone is ideal for fixing them. And because of the Learning feature of Smart Tone it usually puts them right the moment I select the option.

I only use Image Capture and it always sends my photos to wherever I tell it to.

What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

Canon iR2520 Network scan gear

Hi guys, I face problem with canon iR2520 Network Scan gear. The scanner works from platten glass to scan pages one by one. but it doesn't work from ADF feeder to scan multiple page. it displays "no original in the feeder"
even if there is paper to scan or sometimes it displays an error "jam in the feeder". please help me I am waiting for your reply.

Canon IJ Network Scanning Utility not showing up in Menu bar

Hi, I recently performed an erase and install of my Mac. I then used Migration Assistant to restore my data. I have a Canon MP620 Wireless Printer. I noticed that the Canon IJ Network Scanning Utility is not showing up in the menu bar. How do I get it to show up again?

When installed, the Canon IJ Network Scan Utility is located HD > Library > Printers > Canon > BJPrinters > Utilities. Double click the utility and the icon will appear on the menubar. If you want the utility to start on login, then you can add it to your Login items, located in System Preferences > Accounts.

No color when scanning a photo

I cannot seem to scan color photos to my Mac, everything is in grey scale and I have no idea how it happened or how to correct it. I am using an IMAC 3.2

Okay, took a bit to find it, but I think this is it:
For Mac OSX 10.9 It's around the 0:57 mark in the video... the drop down field "Kind" has to be selected as "Color"
