Canon C7065i didn't works after mavericks update

it said "cannot communicate with the printer, or the printer is not supported."

I have now managed to get the Canon LBP6300dn printer working on my network (i.e. I did not use USB at all).
In case it helps others, here are the steps I performed.
Infrastructure:
My printer is connected by LAN cable to my Airport Extreme.
The Airport Extreme has a DHCP reservation defined for the printer (e.g. fixed address of 10.1.2.3).
I need A4 as the default paper size, so I installed the UK version of the driver (Mac_CAPT_V365_uk_EN.dmg). I do not know if the locale makes any difference.
I orginally set-up the printer  when I used Mountain Lion.
My Mavericks installation on my laptop was clean (i.e. the hard disk was reformatted first)
Set-up:
The printer was switched on and installation was done on my Mavericks laptop over WiFi.
Double-click the .DMG file and follow the instructions.
Open System Preferences | Printers & Scanners.
Click + to add a new printer, the Add dialog should open.
For me, nothing appeared under the Default tab.
Click the IP tab.
In the Address: field: I entered the fixed IP address of my printer (e.g. 10.1.2.3).
The IP address should be automatically validated.
The Protocol: Field was set to Line Printer Daemon - LPD.
After a few seconds, the Use: field should display “Generic PostScript Printer”
Click on the Use: field’s menu to display available options and then pick “Select Software …”
In the Printer Software dialog, select “Canon LBP6300 CAPT (UK)” . Or the equivalent for your locale. Click Ok. Note: I could not get the “Canon LBP6300n CAPT (UK)” to work.
For me, an error “Unable to verify the printer on your network appeared”, but I clicked Continue.
I left the Paper Source Options set to none. (I do not have the 500 cassette.)
I clicked Ok to finish the adding of the printer
After this the printer was finally working for me, including duplex printing.
Anyway, I hope this might help others that are struggling with Mavericks and the Canon LBP6300dn printer.

  • Smart Groups not working after Maverick update

I can not send a message with my SMART group after I updated the Maverick.  Someone help!!!

I have found that I can use Outlook 2011 if I boot my macbook up in safe mode (hold shift key down when restarting). Outlook then works, but does not have all functionality - for example I cannot search my emails, though I can sort them.
This lets me get by for now, but it means of course that in safe mode there are many other things that the machine is not able to do so is only of use for checking emails.

  • Canon pixma mp600R not working after security update

    Hi,
yesterday apple software update installed the last updates for my intel imac with 10.4.11. After that my canon printer is not working via airport. USB works fine. the networking utility sends and receive pings to the printer.
Tried to reinstall with the canon network tool. after checking of the airport signal (good) the printer utility open but I cannot add my printer, because its not shown.
does have anyone a idea to get the printer working wireless again?
P.S. My ibook prints pretty fine wireless to the canon. So its not a airport problem.

    Hi Martin, try this...
Safe Boot off the HD & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot once more.

  • Mail not working after Maverick update!

I'm having a similar problem with Mail since the Maverick update.
I can open mail but most of my mailboxes are missing and it won't let me click on any of the remaining ones.
You can bring up any of the drop down menus and use as if it's working perfectly... but the mail window itself cannot be used?
I have brought the Mail window up and then clicked on enter time machine but no back ups appear... i endlessly float through the background?!
Everything else works on my Mac?
Can anyone help or maybe seen a thread that would apply to my circumstances?
    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I have installed Mavericks, but my mail, Version 7 (1822), will no longer get new mail from the server.
I have to do it manually.
Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
    Henry.

  • PVZ didn't work after software update

PVZ wouldn't open after I updated my ipod touch software. It just shows the PopCap logo then goes back to the ipod screen. Other applications also did not open after the software update but went back to normal after I updated these other applications. Does this mean I have to update PVZ by purchasing a new version?

Thanks! I tried the "reinstall affected application" in the troubleshooting page but when I went to app store to download the application again, it didnt say anything about me having paid for that application before and that i'm just reinstalling.. it just said buy.. I clicked it anyway. I hope that's normal but I won't get charged for it. or did I do it wrong?

  • Presonus FP-10 no longer works after Mavericks update

I updated my Mac Mini to Mavericks and now my Presonus FP-10 will not work. I know that Presonus has made a statement that FP-10 is no longer compatible with Maverick or Mountain Lion. • HP OfficeJet 6500A fax no longer works after Mavericks update

After updating to Mavericks and installing the HP software drivers, the fax component no longer works.  I installed the fax part of the update, and when I print to fax, instead of triggering the machine to dial a number like it did in Mountain Lion, the printer prints out garbage text.  There's no relevant support page on HP's website about this issue.  Anyone got their HP fax to work via print to fax from their Mac?

    Hello Peter,
It sounds like you are not able to fax from your HP OfficeJet 6500A.  I recommend the following steps for the issue you described:
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
    Additional Information
Note: If your printer is wireless-capable, you should first add the printer to your network. Use the printer's control panel, or temporarily connect the printer to your Mac via USB.  For more details, see this article.

  • Apple Cinema Display speakers no longer work after Mavericks update

I have a MacBook Pro 15", purchased in late-2010 connected to a 27" Apple Cinema Display also purchased at the same time.  The display connects to the MacBook Pro via USB and mini displayport.  The built-in 2.1 speakers on the display were working fine until the upgrade to Mavericks.  When I go into the speakers settings, I can change it to internal speakers and the sound comes from the MacBook Pro, but when I choose the cinema display, nothing happens.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi lelandgray,
If you are having audio issues with your Cinema Display after upgrading your MacBook Pro to Mavericks, you may want to make sure that the most recent Cinema Display Firmware Update has been installed. You may find the following article helpful:

After update to Mavericks cannot connect my Canon Powershot G11, led ligts blinks green on camera, Preview opens, but not showing photos from camera and window not opens. Whats up?

  • PhotoBooth flash not working after Mavericks update

    Hey,
I have a mid-2010 13'' MBP and everything was fine up until last week when I updated to Mavericks from Lion. I try to take pictures on Photobooth (flash enabled), the screen flashes but the photo still comes out very dark and nothing happens, no matter if I'm in a dark room or not.
I've reinstalled the OS, restarted, changed permissions and all that but nothing works.
And this isn't the only application I've been having problems with - Dashboard sometimes doesn't open after sleep or it freezes a lot. I also think the computer is generally much slower. Really regretting this update.

The same happened to me, I don't know what is going on but my photo booth worked good until I updated to mavericks, pictures now are very dark with or without flash.

  • Why wont my Webcam work after Mavericks update?

I upgraded from 10.7.5 and now seemingly no webcam functions work properly. Not Facebook, Skype, iMovie, or Photo Booth. Photo Booth told me "Cannot Save photo" after first, but after creating a new Photo Booth Library to see if that could fix it, the Capture button simply clicks with no result. Photo Booth does recognize the built-in camera and I can see myself, but I cannot record anything.
In Skype the camera will freeze within 5 minutes of use. If I want to get it to work I have to restart the program, which only works for 5ish minutes before it freezes again. Facebook thinks I don't have a webcam.
I also downloaded the new iMovie, which seemed to use the webcam fine at first. Then it suddenly refused to open, slowing down the entire computer while attempting to open until I have to Force Quit it. I can't seem to open the program anymore. I can open the old iMovie, but when I attempt to record a pop-up tells me "No camera connected - To import video, please connect a camera"
I need help or Maverick need to update because this is getting pretty obnoxious.

  • Ps3 media player no longer works after Maverick update

Since updating to Mavericks OS, I cannot stream my iTunes content to my PS3 using PS3 Media Server. It all worked fine until I did the update. How can I sort this out?

    Here's a technique I use. In a php file:
    header("Expires: Mon, 20 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT");
    header("Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate");
    header("Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0", FALSE);
    header("Pragma: no-cache");
This must be wrapped in php tags.
