Canon Capt printer driver doesn't work under OSX Mavericks
Since I upgraded to 10.9, my Canon i Sensys LBP 5050 doesn't print anymore. Installing the latest Capt driver (3.65) from the Canon website didn't solve the problem.
Any thoughts?
Same problem. Canon LBP5050.
Did all things mensioned in this topic. No result.

Cannot get MP950 printer to work under osx Mavericks
When I try to configure my MP950 Canon printer under OSX Mavericks, I get an error occurred while trying to add the selected device. I have tried connecting it directly to my USB port and from the network.The system crashes with this error:

Thunderbolt Bus: MacBook Pro, Apple Inc., 22.1The Canon drivers available from Apple Software Udpate were updated last month and they include a later version of the CIJAutoSetupTool - now v10.72.2. However, with reference to this list regarding drivers that are available, I do not see your MP950 as a supported model.
So I was going to suggest you trash the contents of the BJPrinters folder located in /Library/Printers/ and then add the printer, which should download the latest driver from Apple. But if you definitely have an MP950, then you will not get a driver from Apple and would have to rely on one being available from Canon.
So did you install a Canon driver for the MP950 after installing Mavericks or was the printer already installed on a previous version of OS X and you upgraded to Mavericks? -
Canon MP620 print driver does not work with Snow Leopard
Bought a Macbook & bundled Canon MP620 printer in Dec 08. Two days ago upgraded to Snow Leopard, and I can no longer print (the printer is not recognized), it only sees "Bonjour scanner" (the printer is a multi-function printer, copier, fax, scanner). Spent more than two hours with two different Apple tech support people over the phone; talked to Apple personnel in store. My printer is connected via Ethernet cable to a wireless modem, and I connect to the wireless modem via Airport. The phone tech person insisted that this printer is supported by Snow Leopard, but we reloaded the print driver from the Snow Leopard installation disk with no results. Finally my last resort, which worked, is to go to Radio Shack and get a cable that has a USB-A (printer) to USB-B (Mac) attachment. I was able to print. It is unacceptable for Apple to have this problem, as I went into the store four different times to discuss whether I should upgrade to Snow Leopard, and was told on every occasion that Snow Leopard will make everything run faster, more smoothy, etc. NOT! I want Apple to post a notice on their web site to a) confirm their print driver problems with Snow Leopard and b) to confirm WHEN new print drivers will be released.

Teamspeak window is in background push to talk does not work.
This problem started when i install OSX Mavericks, I already tried to enable "Access For Assistive Devices".. didn´t work.There have been some reports of iPhone's mail app 'forgetting' to check for new mail, but the phenomenon you see of an already-read email (read on another machine) not getting marked as Read right away on the iPhone is a byproduct of the design of the app. Since it can't hold an open connection all day long, the read status is only updated when you open Mail and it polls the server. The iPhone will also only update the unread count when it either Fetches at your predetermined interval or it receive a Push notification. Neither of these actually update the status of current mail on your system, but merely get the new text and increase the unread count appropriately.
But, as I said above, some people are seeing iPhone behavior where its not checking for new mail at all. This, unfortunately, is a bug that rumor has it is high on Apple's to-do list. -
[Solved] Epson printer driver doesn't work
Trying to get printing from my Epson 2200. CUPS downloaded a driver but it does not work. I know the usb connection and printer work as they print correctly under Ubunutu 9.04. Unfortunately, I can't find a suitable driver anywhere on the net.
This is a showstopper for me. I don't have the cash to buy a new printer. Hope someone has an idea about this othewise it's back to Ubuntu.

If this is not your printer just click printers on the left side and search for your printer then you'll get the driver package you need to run your printer. -

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I see that you are having some issues with adjusting the power save mode settings on your Laserjet P1606dn. I can help with that. First make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. If the printer is connected with an ethernet cable to a router then you may be able to do this instead:On the printer hold down the button that looks like a sheet of paper with an arrow on it for about ten seconds. This should print out a report.On your Mac open a browser and enter the printer's IP Address in your Address bar exactly as it appears on the page. When you are finished click on enter/return.This will open the printer's Embedded Web Server. In here you may be able to find some options to adjust the power save settings.If the above does not work then this troubleshooting may assist you with the utility:Go to Applications, and if you have it open the Hewlett-Packard folder.Run HP Uninstaller to remove any existing software from you system.On the Mac go to the Apple icon and Sytem Preferences.Open Printers and Scanners.Hold down the Command key and click on the picture of your printer on the left.Click on Reset Printing System.Go to Applications and Utilities.Open Disk Utility.Click on Macintosh HD on the left.Click on Verify Disk Permissions. This should take about ten minutes.Click on Repair Disk Permissions. This should take about ten minutes.Restart your Mac.Plug in the USB cable between the printer and the router.Check for Product Updates on your Mac.Try running the tool again.If this resolves everything please let others know by clicking on Accept as Solution below my post.

Canon LBP 2900 doesn't work under 10.6.3.
It worked under 10.5.6, 10.5.7 and 10.5.8.

I did the same under SL but no result.
Any suggestion?The procedure of using the CAPT folder from a previous version of OS X was not always successful with 10.5, let alone 10.6. For those like you that did find it worked, there were many others that found the workaround did not work for them.
Version 3.05 of CAPT lists the following Canon printers as supported models.

If this new driver does not work with the LPB2900 then another solution would be to have an old Windows XP computer connected to the LBP2900 and then use the following procedure to print to it from the Mac.

Regardless the CD issue, I affraid that the printer is incompatible with Leopard (OS X 10.5) but require OS X 10.6 or a later version.

I would suggest upgrading your operating system or contacting the retail and replace it with another model which is compatible with your operating system.

Canon pixma mp560 printer/scanner doesn't work wirelessly
I have a canon mp560 printer/scanner. It works fine w/ my mac when I'm plugged in w/ the usb but then goes offline and won't print when I try to go wireless. I've reinstalled the software and everything functions fine, but the printer and scanner will not run wirelessly. I've tried the canon website and have not been able to solve the problem. Does this have something to do w/ bonjour? I'm relatively new to macs. This printer runs wirelesly w/out problem on my pc. Thanks for any help.
Your problem is being caused by sharing this printer via USB. The UFR2 driver for Mac causes problems when being shared, even to other Mac's. Since the MF has an Ethernet port you would be better suited to buying an Ethernet hub and connecting all computers and the printer to this hub.
As for the scanning, I don't believe there is a network scanning application for Mac. AFAIK the MF ScanGear for OS X is for USB only so you would need to have the MF connected to the Mac for scanning - unless it has a Send function which would allow you to send a scan to a shared folder on the Mac. But looking at the spec pages for this model I could not tell if it has this feature. -
Canon MF8170c Printer driver - work around?
I bought an iMAC (my first Mac). The salesperson said any USB printer will work. My Canon MF8170c printer is USB, and does not work. I checked the Canon website for a driver, and it said there are no MAC drivers for that printer. Does anyone have a work around, perhaps another printer driver that will work?

Brand new Mac Pro.. CD DRIVE DOESN'T WORK!
I just set up my new Mac Pro yesterday, and the cd/dvd drive doesn't work. It worked once, when I was installing a printer, but it made a really bad noise, and now whenever I put any cd or dvd in, it doesn't even recognize it or react.
I don't know what to do.
I know I have a warranty so somebody from apple should be able to help me, but I can't even reach anybody on the customer support phone number.
Does anybody know a way to fix this?Try depressing the SMC RESET button for 10 seconds, small round button under drive #4 in the rear (with unit unplugged).

Unable to load Canon MP160 printer driver
I've had the hardest time using my Canon MP160 printer on my iMac (Mac OS 10.5). In fact, I'm not able to print at all.
I have the printer connected via USB. It always has been. However, it only stopped working recently.
I downloaded the drivers for the printer and scanner from Canon's web site. However, when I attempt to load the printer driver, the "Installing Canon IJ Printer Driver" window appears. It gets to the "Finishing Installation" part in the process. But it "hangs" at some point and does not complete. I've tried it twice. It hung at two different points in the process. I tried letting it run overnight. That was no good.
I've also looked for the "Printer Setup Utility" and can't seem to find that anyplace. I'm wondering why I can't find that.
If anybody could help me solve this, I'd be so thankful.Hello marconi10. Welcome to the HP Forums. I understand you are unable to install your printer on one computer, over a wireless connection. I'm going to suggest a very simple workaround, which if it works, will remove any complicated troubleshooting that would be necessary:
Please try installing the printer with a USB connection. If this does not work, you know that there is an issue occurring with the computer.
If this does work, the printer will be successfully installed. At that point, you can change the connection type from USB to wireless. For more information on how to do this, please reference this HP document: Convert from a USB connected printer to wireless
If the printer will still not connect wireless, this will point out a computer issue. To get your CD or DVD drive working correctly, try these suggestions in the order listed.
Reinstall the Driver
Hold the Windows key and press the 'x' key to open a menu in the lower-left. In this menu, select "Device Manager." Expand "DVD/CD-ROM drives." Right-click the entry for the CD/DVD drive nested under "DVD/CD-ROM drives," then select "Uninstall." Finally, restart the computer. The computer will reinstall the drivers for the drive.
Power Cycle
Even when your laptop is off and unplugged, residual power can still be held in some components. While this is normal, clearing it can help with some hardware problems. Perform these steps to complete what’s called a power cycle.
Ensure the laptop is turned off.
Unplug the laptop's AC power cable.
Unplug all wires and peripherals. This includes CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, mice, printers, and any other accessories.
Remove the battery (if the model has a removable battery). If the model does not have a removable battery, check your user's guide to determine if you have a pinhole reset on the bottom. If you do, press this.
Hold down the power button for thirty seconds.
Reattach the battery if removed.
Connect the AC adaptor to the power socket that was confirmed to be working in the first step.
Connect the other end of the AC adaptor to your computer.
Start the computer and test the drive

Your computer may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms:
Your CD or DVD drive no longer appears in Windows
Your CD or DVD drive does not read or write and is shown as disabled
The media in your CD or DVD drive cannot be read
The media cannot be written to a CD or DVD inserted into the drive
You receive an error message about your CD or DVD drive
If any of these symptoms apply to your computer, use Microsoft Fix-it troubleshooter available here.
System Restore
Try using System Restore to restore to the most restore point from before the problem arose.

System Recovery
If the System Restore doesn't solve the issue, you could try a System Reset. Resetting your laptop to its original, out-of-the-box state is a great way to eliminate software as a possible cause of the problem. Note that doing a system reset will return the laptop to its default conditions, completely wiping your data. Information on how to perform a system recovery can be found in your user's guide.
